Good morning! Things are moving fast and furious over at the house and I am going to go over today and take some pictures…will share with you tomorrow. I am also excited  to announce a great giveaway tied into today’s post.  Who doesn’t love a great bench! I mean this is kind of a staple don’t you think? At the foot of a bed, in a library or in a family room, out on a patio, maybe a small one in a bathroom or in a mud room, a bench is just one of those little must haves that is great to have around. Like an old comfortable shoe, its practical, it fits, and you need one (or two). Benches can be found in whole host of styles, a range of sizes and more colors and patterns than you can wrap your brain around.
I love a great bench and I think virtually every manufacturer makes them and goodness knows they can easily be found in every price range, from the very very affordable to the extremely high end collectible pieces. There is no denying their versatility and with their relatively light weight they can easily be moved around, to make for  impromptu extra seating when needed for last minute guests. Here is a look at the way benches are used in many different types and styles of rooms. I know when I move there will be benches found not only in a few of my bedrooms but in my family room and tucked beneath a console or two. Lets face it, a bench is a staple amongst a homes must have items….at least in my opinion. Just a practical little item. Do you have a favorite?

Beautiful photographs! Love them all and since red is my favorite color, the country living bench w/ pillows is a favorite! Love the Safavieh rug Anatolia … so many pretty things to choose from. Thanks for the chance to win!

I love the one in the Stern house…can’t you just imagine laying there for hours with a good book and the sound of the ocean below?

I’ve always loved the idea of a bench in the bathroom but never realized that your bathroom doesn’t necessarily need to be Ralph Lauren sized!

I love this bench, its stylish and functional ! It would look great in my new place 🙂

I’m obsessed with benches, so what a great post this was! I have a feeling though that the bench with the exotic pillow at the dining room table looks better than it does to sit on….

*** Tina, I LOVE not only the look & versatility of a GREAT LOOKING BENCH such as this, but no matter HOW BIG one’s home is, extra STORAGE SPACE is ALWAYS SOOOOO NICE to have~~~ (especially IF YOU’RE A “PILLOW ADDICT” like me… they just take up soooo/toooo much closet space, &/but fashionable BENCHES, such as this, beautifully “FILL the BILL”…

Thanks & warmest wishes,

I love a nice bench and all of the above images are great examples at how versatile a bench can be. I have a storage bench at the foot of my master bed and it completes the room!! Great giveaway,Kathysue

* Well I’ve tried n’tried, Tina… I canNOT get on that “FACEBOOK” thingie to comment… (Uh, YES, go ahead n’ say/think it (!)… I ADMIT to being rather “computer illiterate”~~~ MOST of it confuses me (am a natural blonde ANNNND born n’ bred in So Cal, so that probably explains it all!!! GRINS!)… Tnx again, Linda *

Totally wonderful giveaway! But you don’t need giveaways for people to love your blog because it’s so fabulous. I did go to their website & FB and the item I love is AMH3605A, a French inspired side chair. xx’s

Come on Lucky Number 30! Thanks for the great giveaway, Tina. And, so funny that you did a post on benches today. I’ve been searching high and low for a really narrow foyer bench. Hoping I’ll find something at an antique show I’m going to in a couple of weeks 🙂

I love all these benches you’ve found! I’m still toying with the idea of using one for our dining room table, but haven’t decided yet. Here’s my email address in case I win 🙂

Another great post! Like you, I love the functionality of a bench which can easily be used just about anywhere. I have a pair of them in my bedroom and a big long one in my dining room. I just ordered two from Restoration Hardware for the patio..can’t wait to get them! Since I live outside the country I presume I am not eligible for the giveaway? But some lucky person will win that great looking bench…..and I am sure find a perfect spot for it!

I’m not entering, just popping in to say “hi” and comment on the lovely photos. The Ralph Lauren and Martensen Jones have to be my faves, to be honest, I hadn’t realized how much a bench could do for a room!

Sending you a smile,
tp

One room prettier than the other – and practical too. The “bench of the day” is just beautiful and it would certainly make my day to welcome it into my home. To your points, so many good choices of rooms for a good bench! Have an enchanted day! From – [email protected]

I love benches- always have! The one thar really grabbed me (besides the chalkboard one) was the one in the foyer with the two small benches. Love it! Diana

Love this give away!! I have been looking for a bench for our master bedroom and the one that really spoke to me was the gorgeous white tufted bench that Barclay Butera chose. Just gorgeous! [email protected]

Today’s was a wonderful post…even though I have a couple of benches in my home already that I dearly love, your pictures made me long for a couple that are different and lovely! Thank you for hosting this very nice giveaway!

Do I have a favorite- no, not just one! Just when I thought that I had found my favorite- more and more just kept coming! So many beautiful interiors as well as benches!

I visited Safavieh- it was just as hard to pick a favorite over there- I’m exhausted 😉 but I did and left them a note on their FB page- Thanks for the great give away offer!

I adore benches. They are great versatile pieces that can work in any room. I have a tufted one in my foyer that I move into the living room when extra seating is needed. Since I was recently the recipient of one of your generous giveaways, I’d like to let the others have a shot at this terrific piece.

I visited Safavieh’s site and commented on Facebook. Love their things! Great giveaway you’re doing. I’ve always loved this style bench. I love the lines and the feet. Would really love to win it!

Det viktigaste argumentet som jag ser det är att denna subventionering av en viss bransch inte är förenligt med marknadsekonomi. Jag tror egentligen att det ligger närmare den ekonomiska ideologi som du står för.
