I am very excited that summer is here. Very. There were weeks that I was starting to wonder if it would ever thaw out and get past 60 degrees! Well it has and then some but I am loving every minute of it. To me summer signals certain things, moods, feelings, an unmistakable mindset that is distinctively summer. I think about backyard bbq’s, summer outdoor entertaining, swimming, going to the beach, hitting farm stands, maybe a road trip, long walks, beach days, stretches of unstructured time (the best) you get the picture. So this is all about summer and all the different feelings and places and moods that come along with it. Do any of these resonate with you? Would love to know! Do you have any exciting summer plans on the drawing board?

A trio of comfy chairs with an ocean view..I’ll take it!
Beautiful soft blues and whites for a beach house….love it!
Reading on the beach..one of my favorite things to do during the summer!
Lounging by a pool for the day…heaven! Decorpad
Playing golf is great, playing golf during the summer is better and at the oceans edge is the best!
A beautiful unpopulated beach…does it get better?
How about this fabulous all white beach house living room? Coastal Living
Watching a brilliant sunset in solitude just hearing the waves crash…ahhh!
Planting a garden, nothing like your own freshly picked produce!
Napa Valley, on a late summer afternoon…my personal nirvana!
Beach swings with an ocean view…perfection!
I love fresh string beans and tomatoes right off the vine!
Beautiful pieces of coral and large shells in white…it screams summer!
Meet summers’ dessert poster child…..smores!
Popsicles…a prettier and healthier version!
Something about a lone farm on a summer afternoon right before a rain storm…beautiful!
Watching a colorful yacht race!
Love the driftwood table
Its a great excuse for fruity tropical drinks!!
How about a cool starfish mirror? Sea grass cottage
Summer means sleepovers and this room is beyond amazing! Coastal Living
Hitting the beach at sunset…truly a magical experience
How about an all white bedroom with an ocean view? I will take it! Coastal Living
Whats more fun than stopping off at a roadside farm stand?
An outdoor dinner party under candle and lantern light…..
Clambake..need I say more?
Tennis anyone?  The perfect summer sport…
An outdoor summer concert with the ocean as a backdrop..I am so there
Summer dinners al fresco…you bet! Summerour
Taking off to somewhere magical..love summer travel!
Of course you have come to expect this..my summer mosaic of some of my favorite things:
So what does summer mean to you?  Who doesn’t love the carefree, footloose (sometimes) vibe that comes with it, road trips, travel, fruit stands, trips to the beach, a vineyard excursion, reading by the pool, all these things are exclusive to summer for me and that makes it that much sweeter to enjoy! Wishing you a wonderful and enchanted summer!

The vegetable garden!
Those AMAZING popsicals!
The outdoor dinner party!

GORGEOUS inspirational photos.

Despite the freeeeeeezing weather where i am it sure is nice to dream about summer and all that it entails.

What a perfect post! We are enjoying the best of summer in Kentucky right now. Mild temps bring sunny days and cool evenings calling everyone outdoors! Swim teams, tennis teams, little league teams, music festivals, farmer’s market, and porch time every evening with the MR.
Late at night you can often find me with my bare feet propped up, under a ceiling fan, with my iPad and the latest Veranda listening for the final slap of the screen door signifying that everyone one is home. Ahhh I love summertime.
Congratulations to the lucky winner and thank you again for offering such a great giveaway!

Hello Tina:
Congratulations to the winner of the bench. It will make a lovely addition to any house.

And, what a delicious summery selection we are offered here. Summer is well underway in Budapest with outdoor cafés all across the city and wall to wall blue skies. Have a Happy Weekend!

Some great images here, but the one that made me smile most was the tennis court outside the shingled house. Looks much like a place on Marthas Vineyard…such a perfect spot for a game!

Oh my, so much eye candy here! I think summer to me is porch swings (love your choice up there,) produce stands, and sunsets at the beach.

Thanks for stopping by to visit me today. Your house is absolutely gorgeous! It looks a lot like mine, except yours is on major steroids! I will make a beeline back here when we get home next weekend to check out all your old posts. The lights on the front of my house are Savoy House Pompia.

Its brrrr over here in Cape Town, wet and dreary, so loving these pics with the promise of summer, beach parties, walks up Table Montain, Picnics in the Winelands, and endless Braais (BBQ’s – almost a national sport over here!) For now is blogland , fires and red wine…

Love the photos- summer is magical.

This might just be one of my favorite posts. So beautiful. I love living by the coast.
You are making such headway on your home… although I can’t imagine how long it must seem to be taking. It’s such fun to watch….

Congrats to the lucky winner, am so jealous.
Moving onto summer, love this post!
It doesnt feel like summer here today
but I know its arrived. Lobsters, the beach,
a backyard bbq,traveling if I am lucky
and boating are all
my summer markers. Love it- its by
far my favorite season.

Congratulations to the winner. JEALOUS!
SO many beautiful images here, Tina. Would love to play on the grass court. They have one in Destin new my family’s home. ANd the farm, perfection!

Such lovely images! I love the lonely farm before a rainstorm. I love old barns and see a lot of them out here in the midwest. In fact, one day I’d love to go out and photograph a series of them. Have a wonderful weekend!

Beautiful images, as always! I’d like to be a kid again, and sleep in that room with the bunk beds! Love summer… tennis, pooltime, fresh fruit, sunshine… what’s not to love? Great post!

What a beautiful post! Yes, summer is about being outdoors, soaking in the air, cooking fresh grown foods, making memoreis for the kids! We’ll be taking a trip to Nova Scotia this summer, so I hope to get my fill of lobster!

Best, Vie

We love all of your summer picks. We are getting ready for a family trip to Destin for July 4th. Renee and I are excited to spend time with the kids and enjoy some time together that doesn’t involve working. We can’t wait!

Love everything you showed! But for me it’s being lazy and casual at the lake. My little piece of heaven!

My goal for this summer is to give my kids one like the images here suggest…beach, tennis, long days, nighttime swims, sleepovers etc. I sooooo wish I had that bunk bed room. I’d sleep in it myself! Happy weekend!

Summer has so many fond memories and so many things to look forward to this year. Of course starting things off next month with my trip to Maui with my niece, we also spend a week on the Oregon coast every year in a charming beach town, going to farmers markets, lazy days in the backyard reading, outdoor BBQ’s and so much more. Ah, I feel relaxed just thinking about it all!

When it comes to summer, you hit the mark!!! Such wonderful images to ponder! Love ’em! And congratulations to the winner! What a lovely piece to bring home!

Love all of these!
To me summer is farmer’s markets, jumping off the dock, kayaking down the river, flip flops, road trips, popsicles, bbq, reading a book in the screened-in porch, and toasting marshmallows. ahhhh….

the smores and the clambake made me too hungry! I’m currently at the beach for the weekend and I love reading on the beach, sitting on the porch, swimming in the pool, shopping, and eating!

This post just made my Friday ever-so-much-nicer, what eye candy to gaze upon at the end of a long, stressful week. We’ll take any of the beach scenarios, personally I love the shot of the woman with her nose in a book and a big hat, that looks sublime.

The all white bedroom overlooking the sea just takes my breath away, that breeze lifting the curtains, it is the perfect photo. Seriously, just beautiful.

Congratulations to your winner, another great giveaway! Now may your own weekend enjoyment transcend that which you share with us. πŸ™‚

Going to the Keys for a wedding and July 4th, expecting crazy & HOT! Then to the Bahamas and to meet with a very old and dear friend! Looking forward to walking on the shore, in the sand, in the water, shelling, swimming, reading and kickin’ back! Can’t wait to see that turquoise H2O!

Tina, yes please to all of the above!!! Luckily living in Calif I don’t have to go to far to satisfy the summer delights as you have pictured. I think I reallly need to make some smores!!! That is the best pict of a smore I have seen, Kathysue

I was looking forward to winter, but now we are in the midst of it I’m pining for summer and these make it even worse! Thankfully I’m going to the US in a August and can soak it all up then. Gorgeous summery loveliness.

Thanks for stopping by my blog – looks like you have quite a house project on the go here!

My favourite thing about summer is swimming & kayaking & relaxing at the cottage every weekend. I’m outside from morning till night, and I love every minute of it πŸ™‚

Enjoy your weekend πŸ™‚

I’m thrilled to be able to get outside and work, love gardening and my bones feel like they’re finally thawing out. I always look forward to going to the farmers market, our fruit trees coming into bloom and grass between my toes, nothing like it. Life always seems a little slower, a little calmer during the summer to me.

Congratulations to the lucky winner!
Have a fabulous weekend!

Your beautiful images always make me smile. I love these happy summer photos (and that smores picture almost killed me LOL).
Hope you have a fabulous weekend daaaaahling!
*kisses* HH

Tina,

Usually after all the activities calm down such as: several early June B-days, graduations, and Father’s Day we look towards summer solstice. Which is just a few days away and beckon all our summer times to play.

All these lovely photos represent summer at it’s best and our chance, once again, to create new summer memories with family, friends, and new blog friends too. Fun post perfect as a picture checklist because summer is visual and no words are needed to explain what summer fun, looks, smells and tastes like because we can experience it with our eyes closed.

Dear, dear Tina! This is SO inspiring! I loooove that Napa Valley picture and yes, for tennis!!! I’m sorry it took me some time to come and visit you. I am so busy at the time and 930 photos from a wedding to edit doesn’t make it any easier!!! But know that you are one of my absolute favourite blogs! I love to come here and visit! Hope you have an enchanting weekend! Mine started out perfect yesterday with friends, good food, wine and music… I love Summer!

Kristin xx’s

AND YOU, dear Tina, have wisked ME AWAY with these magical and stunning snippets of summer. I have to say this is probably my first summer where I will not be teaching or tutoring. I am just hanging around and writing, reading and creating. SO MUCH FUN! Thank you for coming to visit me. What a treat to come here and be welcomed with that GORGEOUS HEADER!

BISES, Anita

No matter how nice a lake house can be a beach house is even better…and boy do I miss a clambake! Thanks for stopping by. A;ways enjoy your comments.

For me, summer means Jersey tomatoes and going down the shore! Thanks for sharing this wonderful mosaic at MM. πŸ™‚
