Take a peek at my new goodies…and a giveaway!

Hi everyone. Hope your week is going well. Mines been pretty good, its actually been a nice balance of work, various commitments that are to be expected for the end of the year and a little quality time spent with a few friends. This weekend we have a tournament for my son, yep…that makes summer official! Anywho, though I am not planning on getting new lines of things to carry until the end of summer/early fall I did meet up with a potential vendor whose things I really really love (and will carry the line towards end of summer/early fall)  and was able to snag some amazing pieces, many of which I know you will love. Since I have zero willpower, naturally I am adding these right away, they are too gorgeous to keep under wraps!

I for the most part only have one of each but got a few more in a few cases. Was so excited to share them with you and the prices are amazing with a capital A. By the time you read this they will be listed in my online ship under “New Arrivals” (or by Friday) and it will be first come first serve. I LOVE each and every one of these,  always a big problem so that’s why it was a moral obligation to keep virtually one of everything for myself...take a look. What do you think?

So here we go……(bear in mind I am a firm believer that there is no such thing as too many trays or beautiful silver or beautiful decorative objects for that matter)!

And the specifics….
Gorgeous detailing on this tray perfect for a vanity or bar 21×9

How about this very oversized (approx. 26″) oval chinoiserie tray? Yes I kept one for myself 🙂

As I did for this stunning wood French tray…..love it! Distressed to look old, its fabulous!

And this stunner of a tray, another oversized beauty, perfect for display, serving, it measures about 24″ across….so elegant!

I used to have this but sold out and just have this one piece, this is so beautiful, very long 24″ by 9″, perfect for a bar, serving, vanity or bathroom to put all your pretties on!

Love the scallop detailing

And this chic little bar tray, distressed to look old…its a stunner with French writing, ideal for serving drinks, dessert or keeping on a bar! 12×17

And this fabulous dish (yes kept one for myself of this one yet again) measures about 14 x9, perfect for display or for serving, doesn’t get more elegant than this!

And I have always LOVED covered trays/meat dishes, this one is about 14″ round with the most exquisite covered dome, talk about creating instant elegance!!

And this gorgeous blue and white piece, have 3 of them (after the one I kept for yours truly) Love the scalloping….a perfect topper for any vignette!

And this beautiful black and gold oversized tole planter (about 15″ sqaure) Wish they had more!

Another stunner, a different style of the French tray….how gorgeous is this for a bar or a European influenced kitchen. And yes if you are wondering if I kept for myself….what do you think?

What is it about all things French? Love love love them! Anyway, thanks for stopping in. I am offering 2 lucky winners each a frame of their choice from my online store. A perfect way to treasure a special photograph. All you need to do to enter is go to my store, set your heart on something pretty and come back here and tell me a favorite item! That’s it. I will be back on Saturday to announce 2 lucky winners. Anonymous and people who use their first name, need a first name and last name initial. Be sure to check back Sat. to see if you won.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day.

Beautiful belljars…….

Notice I changed the pictures in my header? I figured why not change it up to reflect summers light, airy vibe with a blue and white touch. Hope you enjoyed a relaxing and happy, safe Memorial day weekend.Hard to believe summer is officially here, we ended up having a lot of fun, it was more action packed than I originally was hoping for but once in the throes of all the activity, gotta admit we had a darn good time!

Before I begin, I was so honored to have been featured in a really fabulous online magazine spread, Belle Inspiration. If you arent’ familiar with it, you are missing out, its a wonderful online magazine created by tastemaker Mimi, and is wonderful treasure of all things French. I was so honored when they asked to feature me and The Enchanted Home shop! Click here to visit (click on May/June issue) . It begins on Page 79-80. Its worth heading over! It is such a beautiful spread….thank you Belle Inspiration!

One of my favorite kinds of lighting is bell jars. Just like the ones I have in my kitchen which is what prompted me to even start carrying them in the first place. They are classic, elegant, don’t detract, just enhance and are always such a perfect choice when in doubt. They also provide a nice soft lighting, nothing too strong but a definite room enhancer.  I have seen them work their magic in the most traditional spaces to very light airy modern/transitional ones.  So today a look at them in all their beautiful glory…what do you think, do you like belljars? Have them? Would want them? Would love to know!

So first my own belljars, funny for lanterns that were supposed to be “temporary” I think they are now staying. For good. They literally look perfect here, and for anyone who has seen them, they have thought I am crazy to consider switching them….so looks like they are home sweet home. These are the “tulip etched” design……..

I love the etching, gives it such an old world appeal

Belljars hold their own in the most spectacular and formal of spaces, Barry Dixon
Love the way the belljar was used in this showstopping foyer, Intrinsic Designs
Love the belljar in this super chic bathroom, Jennifer Eisenstadt
They are the perfect choice for a bathroom, House Beautiful (Same line as I carry)
This pair in nickel by Dana Wolter adds just enough tradition to a somewhat transitional feeling kitchen
Love how Barry Dixon used a belljar for this beautiful girls room
Rinfret chose a beautiful etched glass belljar for this beautiful and stately dining room (Same line as I carry)
Even for dramatic spaces, JMA

Rinfret used a collection of four (these are the line I carry) to create an interesting lighting design

Belljars are perfect for hallways and gallery type spaces, James Michael Howard

A pair of belljars is like a sure thing above an island, Deborah Lehman
Belljars to me, are always the perfect choice for baths and smaller spaces too (same line as I carry)
Adore this closet by Barry Dixon……the belljar is a perfect accent here to not detract from all the fabulousness in this space!
Adore this space by Mary Evelyn, the belljar is a great compliment but does not detract from the beauty of the room
A trio of pretty belljars work perfectly with the scale of this long island

This is the cut star design, used beautifully in this stunning bath, Rinfret (same line as I carry)
A pair of belljars with a bronzed finish looks beautiful in this kitchen, James Michael Howard
The pretty and “go with everything” starburst design is a perfect compliment to this pretty dining room, Kristin Panitch
Belljars are my favorite lighting for hallways, both big and small, Bacco (same line as I carry)
Belljars can hold their own even in the most formal of spaces, as executed by Barry Dixon
This is the diamond cut pattern and reflects light beautifully (Thes are also from my line)
For a cleaner crisper feel, the polished nickel finish gives a nice gleam and adds to a crisp aesthetic
I think they are perfect for transitional spaces like small vestibules, Intrinsic Designs
Love the oversized scale Thomas Hamel used for this cozy elegant breakfast nook
Love the mix of styles here, the belljars with a highly polished nickel finish were a great choice, Downsview
Homey Design shows that even in more transitional spaces, belljars are a great choice
Love the way the belljar here adds the effect of lighting against such beautiful window, Barry Dixon
Another pretty example of why these always work for above an island! Alexandra Luhrs (From my line sa well)
Ralph ( as in Ralph Lauren) yes we are on a first named basis, uses belljars in his personal closet! Smart man that he is:)
For tall ceilings, they do a nice job of anchoring the volume of the space, Doma Architects
Barry Dixon chose a tinted belljar for this elegant bath
Even in a more formal room like a dining room, belljars look fabulous, prefer the ones with the metal tips for dining rooms, Rinfret
I think belljars are an ideal lighting option for foyers and vestibules, Barry Dixon
So….do I have you hooked yet on belljars? What do you think? Do you like the subtle way they add interest to a space yet don’t compete with what else is going on in the room as some light fixtures do? I think thats one of the most redeeming qualities about them, besides their versatility is that that they add interest, beautiful soft lighting but do not detract from what else is  happening in the space.

Reminder for anyone thinking about belljars from my shop, my approx. 20% price increase is effective tomorrow June 1st. They, even with the increase will be still be considerably less than my competitors, but right now they are as low as they can go! Thanks for stopping by and would love to hear your thoughts on belljars! Wishing you a wonderful day.

Which would you choose?

I hope we will all take even just a single minute out of our fun filled days of BBQ’s, beach outings, picnics, parties and get togethers to remember and reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day. To stop and say a quick prayer to protect, honor and applaud the heroic job that all the brave men and women are doing overseas this very minute as well as the fallen who have sacrificed their lives for our great country. Truly the most noble and honorable job there is, in my humble opinion. i am in awe of what they do in order for us to continue living our lives of freedom, safety and independence.

Good morning! Happy Memorial day! How is your holiday weekend going? Ours has been fun, good quality time spent with family and friends, today we are relaxing around the house until we go to  a BBQ around 5, I am hoping to hit a garden center and maybe do a little planting. The weather has been pretty nice, not perfect and we had a few random rain showers but for the most part its been sunny, and despite the humidity, I am not complaining!

Today’s which would you choose is to put yourself in the role of being a hostess, hosting a housewarming party. Naturally your guests will arrive bearing various types of housewarming gifts. Fun fun fun! I actually am needing your help  for real here, as I am going to someones house next weekend in CT. who just moved into a beautiful new home. I am deciding what to give her (from my store naturally) as a housewarming gift. So I need your input and your take on what you think you might like most to receive as a housewarming gift. As a background, the house is a smaller but very charming Georgian style which she is adding a lot of French influences to. She has excellent taste, likes traditional things and all of my choices are honestly things I know she would love (she has stated as much) She doesnt’ read my blog so I know I am safe here and this will be a total surprise….whichever wins is the one I am giving! So thank you for your help…..you are the best sounding board out there!

                                                       CHOICE 1 Stylish antler pillow

CHOICE 2 A gorgeous oversized blue and white ginger jar
CHOICE 3 A small lantern for a vestibule in her powder room
CHOICE 4 A beautiful round dough bowl
CHOICE 5 This beautiful silver planter filled with an orchid or champagne
CHOICE 6 A collection of 4 frames to create a small vignette

CHOICE 7 The beautiful very oversized crystal hurricane gardenia candle
CHOICE 8 A pair of these beautiful planters for inside or out
CHOICE 9 A pair of these polo salt and pepper shakers (they are horse people)
CHOICE 10 A canvas art print (she has a thing for peacocks as do I)!
CHOICE 11 This porcelain planter filled with a plant of some kind
CHOICE 12 A set of placemats, monogrammed dinner napkins and cocktail napkins with their initial

CHOICE 13 Farmhouse cutting board
CHOICE 14 A beautiful multi purpose serving tray
CHOICE 15 A pair of these artichokes for inside or out
CHOICE 16 A pair of these pheasants for just about anywhere
So……there you have it. I am really torn as to which to give,I know she will be delighted to receive any of these but since I obviously love them all, am having a hard time! Please give me your input, which you would like to receive and why you think it makes the best housewarming gift! Reminder linens and bell jars are getting a price increase as of tomorrow. If you have been thinking about either of these, take advantage now of the lower price. Thanks as always for stopping by  and your input. So, what are you up to today? Anything exciting or is it just going to be a sit back, chill out, relaxing kind of day? Do tell! Enjoy whatever you are up to.

Happy Memorial Day weekend!

Hi there……hope you are off to having a wonderful holiday weekend, whether you are on the road, traveling, doing something big or nothing at all! We are going on a friends boat, have dinner plans and invited to a BBQ, and possibly having some family over,  to me the perfect way to spend a lazy holiday weekend. Originally, we were going to go to Newport but my sons team is in his county playoffs so he has to be around for practices, which is just as well. I am looking quite forward to a more low key weekend. I would love to do some gardening too but have to admit I am petrified of getting poison ivy, to which I am highly allergic and its rampant here! Hopefully the weather will cooperate with our plans, it has been ridiculously rainy, muggy and humid all week long…we need a break! How about you? Whats on your agenda? Anything exciting?

So here  this is just a bunch of randomness (something I am getting good at)!

So we finally got in the last batch of sconces for our downstairs hallways and leading down to the basement. So nice for it to finally be done!

Was so excited that I got my wallpaper done in the powder room! Bad news is we were short, originally we were going to have a chair rail and paneling so we ordered paper under that assumption but then I decided against it, so we are short 2 rolls, getting it next week and will finish then but you get the idea! Love the mood and the way it transformed the space. Cannot wait to get the onyx top and sink put in, add the chinoiserie feeling mirror and get some window treatments done, add the chandelier and we are done! Its kind of a pewter metallic-y paper from Schumacher (one of go to faves) in warm and cool tones…… Woo hoo…..

For those of you who didn’t see my window treatments in my bathroom, here they are….for those who did sorry I am just loving how it came out!

One of the lines I carry that I love love love is the European kitchen line, so finally got a few Bavarian bread boards for myself….really really like these! This weekend I will serve crostinis and a baked brie on them. In the meantime, they are pretty just to have on display.

One of the fun parts bout blogging is discovering new sites, new people and sharing our discoveries along the way! One I recently discovered and adore is Jenny Stebbens. She is a talented modern day Martha! Love her style, aesthetic and her user friendly approach. A fabulous go to resource for recipes that are not difficult but really fabulous and the presentation well…..you will see what I mean! So she came out with her Summer guide on everything from grilling recipes, appetizers, drinks to table settings…you absolutely must check it out! Click here to visit  and a sneak peek…..

Sorry if I am making you hungry so early in the morning!
Also don’t you just love getting exquisite little care packages in the mail….you know what they say about small boxes! Well,  I got this magnificent necklace and earrings in the mail courtesy of my buddy, Marsha from the beautiful and super stylish blog, Splenderosa. Yes,the one who recently launched her online store featuring all kinds of gorgeous extremely affordable baubles! How stunning is this? We have never met yet she knew right away the colors that I love. Here it is…along with some of the things found on her beautiful site, click here to visit her!
Everything is 14kt goldfilled, the earrings and earrings are gem quality London blue topaz
factted briolettes, the pink is pink tourmanline and the luscious big drop is aquamarine!

Thank you Marsha…..LOOOOOVE IT!!!!!!!!
And some other beautiful items in her gorgeous online shop…..

Just planted (still working on it, have to add more moss and wrap in cellophane and pretty ribbon)  this beautiful orchid in one of my favorite silver planters that I carry in my online shop,  to bring to someones house, part belated birthday and part thank you for having us over…..kinda want to keep it but I will be a nice person and give it to her:)
So everyone, that’s about it around here. Happy to wrap up a busy busy week, a good one, a productive one but alas a tiring one! I am looking forward to some down time and hopefully Mr. sun will decide to grace us with his presence! Hope whatever you are up to is lots of fun, enjoyable and mostly relaxing! I may be back over the weekend to pop in and say hello…….

Mid week musings……

Hi..how is your week going? Mine is good, busy (what else is new) BUT very productive!! I won’t be posting again until later Friday or  Saturday but this is a long enough post to stretch over a few days….have a busy few days ahead including a houseguest and various other commitments. I was originally going to break this into two posts but instead merged them to create one big looooong post!

I must say, I feel good about my new resolve to start working on this house with renewed vigor, I know its going to take time but I am feeling more optimistic and not nearly as overwhelmed as I was last week, of course I realize that this could change at any moment so….am enjoying this ‘feeling in control” sensation while it lasts!

My online shop keeps me really busy but I am getting into more of a routine and now trying to ship out just twice a week which is making some parts of this endeavor more manageable. I also have some interior design opportunities that I am not going to take on now but possibly in the fall……would love to get my feet wet though I do  feel like I am getting a refresher crash course with my own house! So here begins all the randomness……..sit down, grab a cup of coffee…yes, its one of those posts!

A few exciting things happened here lately…..

  • I found fabric for the window treatments for my powder room
  • The wallpaper in my guest bath is getting hung TODAY!
  • The window treatments in my bathroom got hung..its a love!
  • The bench got installed for the back stair hall, now just waiting on a few pillows
  • Finalized layout for my living room..its a start!
  • Found fabric for my dining room chairs (I think, waiting on sample)
For me, this is a lot and I feel great having gotten this all done. At last the ball is rolling once again! So first some pictures of some of the above then a little Teddy update and last some store tidbits.

Took these two pics at twilight…..our landscaping is not done but it stil looked so pretty and green……..

I am thinking of ordering these chairs (a pair) for my bedroom..have always loved it. I was originally thinking maybe for my bathroom but its too big in scale, I want something even daintier for my bath but my bedroom or sitting area..these to me, are darn near perfect. What do you think? I could see it with a beautiful little boudoir pillow on it.
Its a beauty if you ask me!

The windowseat cushion….LOVE it! Just visualize now it being full of pretty plump pillows!

And my bathroom….I cannot tell you how much I am in love with the way it came out. Its really coming together, now just waiting on my sconces and chandelier and we are all set!  So happy I went with  my gut on this one, it is exactly as I had hoped! Drumrolll please…….

I doubled the trim, took a blue and an ivory and made my own..its perfect!

Love the peek of gingham…..

For husbands bath in desperate need of window treatments, lest we “treat’ our guests to a front row seat to my husband in the flesh! In the end decided against pattern and keeping it tonal with a beautiful creamy white linen and a pretty patterned tape to create a little pattern and this one is perfect as the circle mimics the floor design, thoughts?

Finally my two cents on decorating in general…..go with your gut, trust your instincts. I cannot stress this enough, I have, 9 times out of 10 when I have done this,  been not only happy but overjoyed with my decisions and I dont’ budge anymore (used to but got tough) and just hang on until I can complete “my vision”. So worth it in the end! TRUST ME ON THIS!
Moving onto Teddy, my ever so popular buddy….hes doing well. Really happy, his same chill self, love his disposition and how everything rolls right off his back,he is the most gentle dog I have ever seen. For as mellow as Golden Retrievers tend to be, he takes the “chill factor” to a whole new level…..wish it could rub off:) So, since so many of you are so kind to ask, here’s a little “photo sesh” I had with the man, thought you might enjoy…….

To heck with this, I am going into the pool…….

One paw at a time……

OK, OK….I am going!

Yea, this feels pretty good, gotta admit!

At this point, he is saying “OK woman, enough with the camera”…..OK OK!
Now I am happy so time to call it a day!
This is the good life……he deserves it, after all he went through!

And finally some shop biz……added the following new porcelains to the shop You will see I concentrate mostly on blue and white, as it seems that’s what many want and cannot find so readily but do know I have access to virtually any color and I have included a few that I can get or have one or two of that are exquisite. Did a housecleaning and several items were removed either because they are sold out or they are discontinued, but I did add several more…..

Also adding some new pieces to the statuary line which I love so much…I want one of everything! These will be up and available for order by Thursday.

How stunning are the new pewter equestrian napkin rings that I got in? One customer is throwing an equestrian themed luncheon and ordered 2 dozen for her tables. Gorgeous!
The “horsebit” ring

And “the saddle” ring!
For anyone who has bought items from my store…LOVE seeing how you are using your goodies! Please send me pictures to add to my inspiration page featuring your homes on my site. I have already started adding some real beauties and its such fun to see these things being used in real homes…so keep your pictures coming. You can email me a picture directly or use this link (which is also online) under ‘Your enchanted homes” tab! You never know when I might decide to announce a contest or something, just saying…………

One of my customer/readers of my blog sent me a few pictures of the items she got from me and in the interim I discovered her lovely blog. Its a newer blog and one worth absolutely sharing. Zaneta is quite a stylemaker, many of you might already know of her..but in any case here is her blog. She did a lovely post on my shop for which I am so grateful, but in the meantime….its a blog you want to know about!

Last order of business…curious to see which bedrooms took the top four prizes in this weeks Which would you choose? I am happy to say the 1st, 2nd place, and 4th place were three of my four faves….I mean who can resist an all white bedroom, a gorgeous golden room with a crowned bed and that black bed, can you just say, fabulous!  It was much closer than I expected, there were really 4 or 5 which received the majority of the votes and then every other one received at least a handful. Here they are……

1st place with 22 votes

2nd place tied with 16 votes each

3rd place with 12 votes

4th place with 11 votes

Phew!!!!!! Well that wraps up this weeks happenings. I am so excited, hoping to go see “Best exotic Marigold Hotel” today! I cannot wait, from the minute I saw the preview knew I had to see it. Love movies filmed in and about India.  Anyone see it? Anyone want to see it? Looks fabulous! If you are like me with your penchant for movies filmed in India, hope you saw The Namesake? Amazing movie that I liked so much I bought it…its poignant, touching and just a beautiful movie (but sad, just a forewarning)! Wishing everyone a fantastic day!
