Good morning everyone. Hope you have had a good week. Mine has been crazy busy and I have to admit I am glad its nearly over. Busy day today making candy sushi for a school fair this weekend and I absolutely cannot wait until Sunday….I plan to stay home in my pjs all day, reading, catching up, cooking, doing whatever I please! I need a day like that desperately…….how’s your week gone?

I am happy to announce the lucky winner of one of Anita’s beautiful creations from the post on Monday. Congratulations to Mary Casey of Painting and fine art. Please email me with shipping info and thanks Anita for your beautiful giveaway.

64  painting and fine art October 15, 2012 11:48 PM  number 4 is so pretty! Thanks for such a cute and creative

The most exciting thing around here lately is that the loggia is done!! So excited and it came out so beautiful. For now we placed a table and four chairs we have owned there to have something but eventually we are going to put the new furniture out there (to be ordered on Monday) and use that stone table and add wicker chairs to it and place it more the corner. We still need lighting but its done and its very exciting. I cannot wait to start using it……

Here’s some of what I have in mind……

It’s starting to look like fall around here…..absolutely beautiful time of year and with the abundance of trees in our area, I must say its like a magical spell has been cast and its just breathtaking at every turn. It really just started happening a few days ago but I have enjoyed trying to capture a little bit of it on film, here’s what I got….so far. I assure much more to come as things really rev up!

Cooking and baking are practically synonymous with the word holidays. I fell over seeing these delectable goodies. I am considering a holiday cocktail party, seeing these scrumptous treats has me leaning towards doing it but then again its my stomach talking not my head which knows how much work/stress it can be. Have to think about that one but feast your eyes on these!  I mean seriously if these won’t put you in the holiday mood, what will?
Opening the door to my heart…so cute!
Whoa! Bring on the milk!

Colin Cowie (husbands and boy would love the mini versions of their favorites)

Too cute
Holy cow! Caramel apple cake…oh yea!
Peter Callahan

Gorgeous beef wellington

Now that I have you hungry……sorry, they were just too special to not share! I am excited, going see this movie tonight, The eye has to travel about Diana Vreeland. As soon as I had read about it, knew I had to see it and its playing in my neck of the woods. Diana Vreeland was a remarkable pioneer and this movie celebrating her life and contributions looks fantastic!

Two books I just ordered and cannot wait to get…do you have them? What do you think? They both look like winners, hope they don’t disappoint!

On a fashion front…I looooove boots. Every year add a few to my collection. I have had some for years and years, cannot part with them. These are the ones I an currently coveting. The good news is they are all stunning and available in my size, the bad news is they are all from Gorsuch (favorite company) and now I need to narrow it down……….

No your eyes to do not deceive you, that IS fur and these are the J Mendel version of wellies!
Announced a frequent buyer program for my online store which is effective until Dec. 15th. Click here to visit yesterdays post if you didn’t see it. (it has the details)
Last tidbit, hot off the presses, my guest room started to get done. I am overjoyed with how the crown/carona has come out. Granted the bedding, pillows and windows are not done. And the tiebacks I ordered haven’t come in but I had to share a sneak peek, taken with my iphone last night. I will have an entire photo session with my camera when done (the colors aren’t great here) but I was so happy with it wanted to show you one in progress shot….

That’s about it, this is a short post (for me at least) just wanted to say hi and share whats new and exciting over here. What are you up to this weekend? Hope whatever you do is enjoyable and wonderful. Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

TINA!!

I am thrilled to hear that we had a winner! I will await the information when you have a moment.

OMG your loggia is fabulous. YOU ARE going to have the grandest time there in solitude, for parties, for family gatherings and more DREAMING! BRAVO!

Your area resembles mine with the lakes/ponds and the fabulous fall color. You are just enjoying so much here and your front entrance is gorgeous. I gave up however, on putting out gourds on my front porch; those darling but devilish squirrels EAT THE PUMPKINS then scatter them about to rot! ARGH!

Enjoy my friend, and thank you SO MUCH. LOVE, Anita

Congrats to the winner of Anita’s beautiful work! Just when I thought your home couldn’t get any more enchanting, you surprise me! The foliage you captured in breathtaking. LOVE those cookies of the little red doors – so cute. xoxo

WOW TINA!
this is a lot to capture, i must go back and absorb such deliciousness! loggia is stunning, views of your region are breathtaking, those “door” cookies….too fun!

Hello Tina
I just wanted to let you know that I went to see the movie The Intouchables because you had posted it on your blog. It was a great movie, thank you! Now I will need to see this one but not sure if it’s available here in Canada. Your house is just so beautiful, thanks for sharing your world. It’s always inspiring!

LOVE the loggia!! It is GORGEOUS!!!!! Absolutely beautiful. I am envious of Fall too. We don’t get much of a Fall here in Houston (although we do have a crisp morning today:)

I hope you do get a relaxing day on Sunday in your Pj’s… I need one of those too. These last 2 weeks have drained me so much. Someday soon……

Hugs.
Kim

I’m so excited about your Loggia that I feel almost as happy as you do! Well, not quite I’m sure but it sure is beautiful! As is the scenery all around you! It’s breathtaking! It’s really chilly here this morning and I am loving it! Thanks for sharing such beautiful pictures of your home with us! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Tina… I always grab a cup of coffee, turn on my computer, and check whether you have a new post. Another beautiful one today. That loggia is beautiful! Love the furniture you are looking at. The only problem with your guest room is – I don’t think your guests will ever leave! Love what you did with your planters too! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Good morning, Tina!!! Today looks like a great day for those J Mendel Hunter wellies!! 🙂

Loving your stunning loggia. Like everything you touch, the beauty is in the details! Loving the furniture you have your eye on, too.

Pinned the red door cookies just now, as 20 is my house number. How adorable are those?! I’m co-chairing a garden club event with the theme Home for the Holidays…and I can see these as party favors!

Thank you for inspiring me to embrace life and make it as beautiful and delightful as possible!
xoxo Elizabeth

Tina, your loggia looks amazing!!!! I especially love the slate flooring, and it’s only going to get better with all of that wicker furniture…wow! So many beauties in this post too but I adored those little London-style door cookies…so cute. 🙂 Have a great weekend – I’ll be in my PJs on Sunday too and I can’t wait!

You will LOVE Danielle Rollin’s book. She is an aquaintance of mine, but alas, I have to say that I have never been in her incredible home for any of these breathtaking parties that she features. She gave a wonderful seminar at ADAC here in Atlanta and did a slide presentation with background gossip that was just the most entertaining. I love to entertain, and I love to put myself out for my guests, but she does it on such a high level that she leaves me in the dust. You’ll be so inspired when you read this book. Give yourself lots of time and a bottle of wine to go through it. The details are so lovely.

Hi Tina, The second pair of boots are speaking to me!! Love the fur trim and its placement.

Your loggia is stunning and I can see your guest bedroom will be as well! Those deserts, oh my!

Even in a “short post, you impart so much great info! I can’t wait to see the Vreeland Film!

Tina like everyone else your house never gets old. It is just perfect. Pure and simple. The loggia, your guest room, I could live in those two rooms alone, hehe.
I also love all the food pictures, the cookies and those mini appetizers are wonderful We make Beef Wellington every Thanksgiving and that one is so interesting because it looks like they used apples. May have to try that.
The movie looks wonderful, I met her many moons ago at a fundraiser my sister in law was involved, she was so lovely.
Have a great weekend and you deserve that day of rest on Sunday!~

Your loggia is magnificant!! I love it and your entry looks so pretty all set for fall love the urns. I love your home it is so inviting.

The bed at the end is spectacular.

Cynthia

Beautiful post as usual, Tina. Your loggia is spectacular. I’m sure you and your family will spend many hours there enjoying the fireplace and the outdoors.

Your guest room will be amazing! Lucky guests!!

Have a great week-end,

Nicole

Happy Weekend, Tina! Hope you enjoy your PJ day. Don’t think there’s one in the cards for me this weekend, but that’s OK, maybe next week. I’d love to sit with you on your gorgeous loggia, wrapped in cashmere blankets to keep out the fall chill and sip a big glass of red wine! And then retire to the guest room to feel like a pampered princess. Absolutely incredible carona, it’s just stunnding!
Have a beautiful weekend. XOXO

Your front planters are stunning – love the winter cabbage and pumpkin/gourd combination. Also, not sure where I’ve been but have not heard about the movie – now I want to see it too!! And lastly, the bedroom is looking divine! Can’t wait to see the finished room. Happy weekend! M.

Tina – The loggia really looks wonderful as do the fall colors through your gorgeous windows! Thanks for sharing the entertaining ideas – I am planning a bridal shower for my niece and need all the ideas I can find. Have a great weekend! xoxox

The loggia is incredible. So is that guest room! Your guests may never ever want to leave! I love the furniture pieces you are considering for the outside, is that Restoration Hardware? I like the idea of all white too becuase you change the look in pillows with each season.
The enterainting foods all look so good, especially those cookies and the beef wellington, yum!
I am going to take your lead and order both of those books, they look great and I am a definite book junkie.
Have a good weekend and enjoy your day of relaxation, sounds perfect.

What a beautiful outdoor space. The fireplace is fantastic and I love the wicker furniture options.

xo,
Phyllis

ps. The fur trimmed Hunter boots are quite the best thing I have seen this fall.

Everything looks so beautiful, Tina!! The loggia is fabulous, and I would never get anything done looking at the beautiful leaves around you. And the beef wellington looks scrumptious!

Wow wow wow and more wow. Love it all. The loggia is going to be such a wonderful place for entertaining and relaxing, looks great already. Love your guest room with that heavenly fabric on the carona. It looks dreamy. Always thought you were an intelligent woman with good taste, but now I seem to be mistaken.

Are you seriously considering buying fur?

You just went from elegant to trashy in my eyes, cause seriously – only those who needs to show off their wealth would by fur. It is 2012 after all, and there is NO excuse for fur. None at all.

Wow, lots of goodies here. You have wonderful vistas to look at out of your windows. I’m sure you are really loving Fall around your house.
I’m seriously hungry now after looking at those photos..and the one with the mini burgers and mini beers is TOO CUTE.
Thanks for sharing the sneak peek at your guest room.I’m so loving that toile. That quick peek is just enough to whet the appetitie…..can’t wait for more.
Oh yes, I’m so happy about your loggia. I see lots of great photos in the future !!! 😉

Your home looks amazing all decorated for Fall – love the front urns. The guest room crown is fabulous – not only do I love the look, but the fabrics are exquisite!! Happy Sunday –

Love your loggia – I can picture the a fire going in that gorgeous fireplace and you snuggled up on one of those wicker sofa’s – perhaps wearing the sheepskin lined boots (love those), gazing out at the beautiful autumn colours while nibbling on a slice of apple caramel cake! Have a happy week. x Sharon
