Hello…. I am back!

Hello! I am back got back late last night and our holidays were soooo wonderful. I have to say there really is something special about spending Thanksgiving at the beach. There is less pressure to have out all your best china, linens and silver, its more relaxed, everyone seems happy, the vibe and tone is just amazing. Being at my sisters beach house with 16 others was such fun and so festive and enjoyable.

We ate ourselves silly (part of the fun) and overall just had a really fabulous time being together, reminiscing,  laughing and enjoying good old fashioned quality family time. I don’t care where we go with technology and we all know its moving scarily fast….there is NOTHING that will ever substitute the simple pleasures of spending quality time with your family. Hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful! Hard to believe tomorrow is December 1st….oh boy let the games begin!

A few very candid snapshots as taken with my iPhone…….

A few reminders……

1. Today is the final day to be in the running for  the pair of the magnificent Seda France pillows!! I will be announcing a winner tomorrow. Click here to add your name to the hat!

2. And if you took some pictures over the Thanksgiving holiday….send them in for my “Hooray for the holidays” photo contest. I have gotten so many amazing pictures so far….last day to send them in is Dec. 4th. All details below-

The new theme is “Hooray for the Holidays“. I am accepting pictures for anything having to do with the holidays (Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas) up until Dec. 4th. I will run the contest through Dec. 8th and announce a winner on Monday, Dec.9th. I have already gotten some beauties so send yours in!

No rules…however you interpret “Hooray for the Holidays”. Could be a favorite meal, your home all decked out, your Thanksgiving table, a pretty table setting from a holiday past, a pet or child showing their spirit, etc…..I know I am in for a treat, your talents and inspirations always blow me away. Same rules, two pictures per entrant, you must put Hooray for the Holidays in the subject line of your email (I get a ton of email and don’t  want it lost in the shuffle). Email them to theenchantedhome@gmail.com.

A reminder that these must be your pictures (not necessarily of your home but pictures that belong to you, not taken off internet)

3. My final European kitchen order  (last order before Christmas) will be coming in next week. I have been selling a ton of these amazing products, so if you have been considering anything from that line, don’t wait long. Also please note a price increase is soon to take effect (manufacturer has put this into effect already but I am trying to hold off until mid Dec). These goodies are going fast…and I am down to a handful of bread boards, trivets and olive trays, just got in a new shipment of the gorgeous new cutting boards but only have a few left. Click here to see the entire European kitchen line.

They make the prettiest displays for serving foods….

And the gorgeous new scalloped ultra thick (3″) cutting boards and trivets have arrived!! Spectacular does not begin to describe how pretty these are!

4. For all those dough bowl lovers I got in 6  magnificent dough bowls. I was going to add these to my big mega post of my final steals and deals either Wed. or Thursday but figured I might as well announce them now. They are spectacular! So for any dough bowl lovers that were waiting, this is from the shipment I get twice a year from Belgium….these are as pretty as antique bowls get! Email me at theenchantedhome@gmail.com with any questions, to see pictures  or to purchase one. They don’t last long:)

I am loving this “Small Business Saturday” pitch. I plan on supporting a few local businesses myself today and think it’s wonderful to look in our own backyards to see all the small unique mom and pop operations that we can support, do you agree? I wish I had known about this sooner, I would have done a whole post on it!

So that’s a mini wrap up. I am gearing up for a very very busy few weeks ahead. I know that it is officially the “countdown period” for Christmas and I am going to spend a good part of my day today making my master list of all that needs to get done and try to come up with a schedule that will minimize the stress of it all and capitalize on the fun and festivity, which is what its all supposed to be about, right? Any tips, please by all means pass them on!

Enjoy your weekend and be sure to check back to find out who the lucky winner is tomorrow!! Thanks for stopping in:)

Thanksgiving greetings and a walk down memory lane……

Hi everyone!  I wanted to pop in today to say hello and a short goodbye  and to wish all of my readers, amazing blogging friends, both old and new…….the happiest and healthiest Thanksgiving holiday.  It is a special time for us all to reflect on our blessings and to give thanks and I have so much to be thankful for…..including my blog and all of you for caring about what I have to say:)

I had quite a week last week and even now with this strange rash, yesterday ruled out shingles (thank God)! They determined (3 doctors) that it is definitely a reaction and likely was the poison ivy as originally suspected but a stubborn strain so they gave me 13 tiny steroid injections into my neck (where its most affected) and indeed I am feeling much more comfortable though I look like a teenager plagued with a case of acne…ahh the beauty of scarves and chunky necklaces!

We are headed to my families home and then to my sisters for Thanksgiving so I will taking off the next four days to celebrate the holiday and spend quality time with my family.  My stretch pants are packed, any guilt about enjoying great food over the next few days has been stashed away for future binges (we are all and should be rightfully exempt for Thanksgiving)! I will miss blogland but am also looking forward to this treasured time doing a whole lot of nothing (besides eating and game playing 🙂

I thought it would be fun to go back a bit and  share with you some much older posts, many that you possibly have not seen. I also found some fun guests posts where I was a guest on someone else’s blog that were fun to read over…… It was so enjoyable walking down memory lane!

Don’t forget about the spectacular giveaway courtesy of Seda France for two magnificent chinoiserie pillows. A winner will be chosen and announced on Sunday morning (details on bottom). And of course my “Hooray for the holidays” contest, taking pictures until Dec. 4th so don’t miss out on a photo op this Thanksgiving (details on the bottom).

Ready to walk down memory lane with me? Let’s go……

Which would you choose?

Hello there, can you believe  Thanksgiving is this week….just a few more days! I am feeling a little better but not 100%, thanks to all who asked. I pushed myself to go to the party Sat. and it was quite spectacular (took some pics which I will share down on a random musings post) but still not quite right, it’s been some week. Hoping this week will be much better!  Maybe a nice big Thanksgiving dinner is just what I need:)

My how 2013 has flown…its been a good year but I am one for even numbers so bring on 2014! I must admit I am starting to get anxious just thinking about all that lies ahead to do for December. I really tried to make November a productive month and it actually was, but I feel like the real test is to get uber organized and on task and come up with a finely detailed holiday prep game  plan to be sure I can keep December as stress free as possible. Any tips….please pass them on!

Here is the exercise today….imagine you have gathered all those you love and hold near to your heart to celebrate Thanksgiving…… so now you get to choose a Thanksgiving table. Imagine the Thanksgiving fairies are going to descend upon your home and dazzle up your dining room in your choice from those below. Wouldn’t that be amazing if such a think really existed? And if they include clean up soup to nuts………I would be first in line to sign up!

So feast your eyes (pun intended) on these delectable settings…which most speaks to you?
I set it up poll style (you can vote for two) but of course if you still want to leave me a comment you know how much I love hearing from you! Gobble gobble……

Which Thanksgiving table is your fave?

My weekend as seen through my iPhone and a stupendous new giveaway!!

Hi there! I have had some crazy week. On Monday woke up with what looked poison ivy (sidenote I have a history of getting very severe cases of the dreadful rash)…so I race to the dermatologist at first sight and am immediately put on heavy duty steroids both topical and oral. However this time within 24 hours I started having a horrible reaction to the topical and its been one miserable week. Living like a leper not leaving the house all week with a fan at my side at all times, was the only way to stay reasonably comfortable.

Only on Thurs night did I decide to not use the cream and took a scalding hot shower to get off every trace and like magic…I felt better. Not 100% but significantly better….and that is how I found  out that I was allergic, started doing research and was floored to see how many have such severe reactions to this stuff! So still on prednisone which makes me feel loopy and a little wacky but the extra burst of energy was a blessing in disguise to finish getting out a rush of orders. On top of all this not feeling great and certainly not looking my best, we are supposed to go to a black tie event tonight! I am feeling pressured which I cannot stand and want nothing more than to stay in my robe, close the door and call it a weekend. To be continued…..

So I told you I would be having a giveaway every week until Christmas and I am beyond excited to announce this new one! We all know Seda France, right? Certainly a name brand that needs no introduction. I have been using their products for many many years.

The maker of some of my most favorite candles in the world. (imagine an Oprah voice saying that)! Their scents are totally sublime, the packaging so decadent and gorgeous that sometimes it feels just wrong to open them! I have been a long time fan of Seda France so was over the moon when I found out that they are expanding into all kinds of new territory. I flipped over the new addition of their spectacular new chinoiserie pillows…come to mama! They just introduced a fabulous pillow line. Filled with feather down, they measure 19″ x 19″ and feature a traditional pagoda design on one side and classic fretwork on the reverse…brilliant!

Seda France was ever so kind to donate not one but TWO pillows as a giveaway! So one lucky winner will get a pair of these gorgeous chinoiserie pillows in their choice of color. How amazing is that! All details on bottom how to win. Let’s take a look at these beauties shall we?

Love that these are two sided….so smart and so classically gorgeous, good work Seda France 🙂

Pretty amazing don’t you think? Which is your favorite color? I love them all but see either the blue or tan for my own home…but how fun would the orange or green be?

Since I have spent so much time in the house here are my musings taken with my iPhone…..

Putting final touches on bedroom selections…love this new tape too…could be a pretty addtiion

I am still determined to find a way to use this mantle….IN LOVE!

The other day when I went to get the mail I noticed  the most beautiful sunset and that coupled with the late season foliage peeking through the front door was too pretty to not capture

Forgot about this Greek key I bought in the spring in Charlottesville! I love it…going to add it to some pillows!

Bought these beautiful tole sconces at a local antique shop…aren’t they pretty?

I cannot believe what they are doing with tile today! These “parquet floors” are tile, indestructible…and so reasonable, we are looking for tiles for a large room in our basement, something that is no fuss.

LOVE my new cutting boards that just came in as new additions to my European kitchen line…how
exquisite are these and a massive 3″ thick!

And love of course the beautiful large trivets…these are the ultimate serving piece for cheeses and antipastas, so pretty!

And the biggest highlight of my week (actually month, maybe even year) is putting in the most magnificent antique Serapi into our library!!! I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS RUG!  More to come as this room comes together……

Now how to win the pair of scrumptious pillows. Just visit Seda France, come back here and tell me your favorite item or scent and which color pillows you would love to win.
If you want a second chance, leave them a comment on their Facebook page (be sure to mention you are from The Enchanted Home so we will count that as an extra chance).
AN IMPORTANT NOTE TO ALL WHO READ MY BLOG THROUGH THEIR EMAIL!!!!
You CANNOT leave a comment by responding via email. It does not count. You MUST click on title of post in my email. This will take you directly to my site.

?Putting final touches on bedroom selections…love this new tape too…could be a pretty addtiion

?I am still determined to find a way to use this mantle….IN LOVE!

?The other day when I went to get the mail I noticed? the most beautiful sunset and that coupled with the late season foliage peeking through the front door was too pretty to not capture

?Forgot about this Greek key I bought in the spring in Charlottesville! I love it…going to add it to some pillows!

?Bought these beautiful tole sconces at a local antique shop…aren’t they pretty?

?I cannot believe what they are doing with tile today! These “parquet floors” are tile, indestructible…and so reasonable, we are looking for tiles for a large room in our basement, something that is no fuss.

LOVE my new cutting boards that just came in as new additions to my European kitchen line…how
exquisite are these and a massive 3″ thick!

?And love of course the beautiful large trivets…these are the ultimate serving piece for cheeses and antipastas, so pretty!

And the biggest highlight of my week (actually month, maybe even year) is putting in the most magnificent antique Serapi into our library!!! I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS RUG!? More to come as this room comes together……

Now how to win the pair of scrumptious pillows. Just visit Seda France, come back here and tell me your favorite item or scent and which color pillows you would love to win.?

Also speaking of giveaways…there is a FABULOUS one going on over at my friend Sharon’s blog, the doyenne of refined country French living….how about a stay in  her cottage in France for one whole week to tour the brocante fairs? How is that for a giveaway!!!! I want to win:) Visit Sharon at My French Country Home, Click here to be in the running.

I have been really busy with my little shop, especially with my recent big score of all the amazing steals and deals. It is part of a very large lot of merchandise I bought from an amazing manufacturer. There is more to come but the bulk of it I have sold. Getting in my final batch sometime next week and will spend a good day or two unloading, pricing and taking pictures, it will be the last of it until the holidays. I know what December brings…and it gets really really crazy!

I inevitably get a lot of questions around this time so thought I would address them as I did last year in one big wrap up post on my online shop as well as share some pertinent information with regard to orders and deadlines. In addition this year I will close my shop on Dec.15th until after Christmas. I hope anyone who needed to get something for Christmas will have gotten it by then but I know realistically that’s the official mark  of “pure chaos” and I will be having houseguests, and no doubt be very busy with them, gift wrapping, gift buying….all that goes along! So for about 10 days the shop will be “on a much needed little vacation”!

So I wanted to address a few things just in case you have your eye on something in my online shop (either for yourself or for someone else). So just a few things to note-

MY ONLINE SHOP WILL CLOSE ON DEC.15TH UNTIL AFTER CHRISTMAS
(I can still be reached but will not take orders after Dec. 15th)

My custom gorgeous napkin rings….I cannot think of a more beautiful way to accent any table and what a gift these would make. This find is one of my all time favorites! Though there’s been a price increase I am keeping the prices as is until after the holidays.

Several of my customers give one or two as gifts and are helping their special someone build a collection..I love that idea and tradition! I happen to have quite a few rings  in stock right now (in anticipation of the holidays).  Some are below, if you have something in mind email me to see if I have it. Custom orders can still be done but time is ticking. These sell on some sites for up to $200 each but I sell them for $56.00! These are all handcrafted and made in the USA! Last day for a custom order to guarantee Christmas delivery is Nov. 22nd.

Click here to see the custom napkin rings online.

 Doggie getting a bath
 Sly fox

 Tea party variations
The animals on a see saw

The beautiful assorted Santa’s there are about 6-8 different versions!

One of my personal favorites….the gorgeous stag deer!
 Beautiful detailing….

Monogrammed items. Definitely an awesome gift to anyone who loves her home. You tell me one person who would not be totally thrilled to get a gorgeous set of monogrammed cocktail napkins with a bottle of wine, or elegant dinner napkin bearing their initial or beautiful guest towels with a box of soaps. They are just beautiful and super affordable. People often email me when they get their order to say how gorgeous they are and how they cannot believe the prices! Last day for a monogrammed linen order is Nov. 30th. Click here to see them on online shop.

Guest towels come in white linen with ecru or white  monogram or ecru linen with black monogram 3 for $20.00!

I love the oversized dinner napkins, crisp white linen with oversized monogram 4 for $40.00

Guest towels come in sets of 3 and feature this very oversized fancy scroll monogram for only $20.00!

Where else can you get 12 gorgeous linen cocktail napkins with an oversized monogram for $40!!

More amazing monogrammed goodies. The monogrammed cutting boards, glasses, and soaps are another hot seller around the holidays. They are affordable, gorgeous and custom. Here are a few gifts about to go out the door to show you how pretty and unique these monogrammed orders are. Best part is they ship out within 2-3 days. I will be taking orders for any of these items up until Dec. 10th. Click here to see these  monogrammed items on my online shop.

You can never ever go wrong with a gorgeous box luxurious customized soaps, they start at only $25.00

Love the idea of a sterling silver monogrammed necklace….who wouldn’t love that!

How about a set of four monogrammed low or high balls?

Silver anything. I am a huge huge fan of my silver line. It is a beautiful gift to give, and I like to m fill a planter with either a beautiful floral plant, get creative and maybe add a wine or champagne bottle or fill a small one with pretty guest towels….there are many possibilities. Click here to see my silver online.

A few questions I get a lot-

If something is not in stock, what happens? You will get an email within 1-2 days of ordering asking if you want to wait (with an estimated wait time) or you will have the option for a full refund.

Do you ship internationally? Yes but not all things. Porcelains and candles are fragile and super heavy to ship which means its risky and very expensive. So I do not ship porcelains or other breakables internationally. International shipping is always billed separately. If you want an estimate before you purchase just email me.

Will I be getting new products for Christmas? I will be offering up the remainder of the steals and deals the first week after Thanksgiving and that will be the end of that (last batch).  After that I will be concentrating on fulfilling shop orders in a short window. I am (due in any day) getting in these exceptional finds from Vagabond House, if you don’t know of them they make the most exquisite pewter items, incredible and heirloom quality, everything comes in a beautiful box ready for gift giving ….email me if you want anything below, I know these will go fast! I am offering them at a specially discounted price on this post before they get to my shop.

Getting in a limited number (2-3 of each) of these magnificent tole items! Great gift for yourself:)

These wonderful oversized decorative canisters would add such elegance to any setting they are used in, gorgeous black and rich red….

This beautiful tole chinoiserie table is to die for and is an unbelievable price $295.00!

And from Vagabond House these items are new additions……..LOVE this line!
Pheasants salt and pepper $80.00 for pair
 Gorgeous gravy boat $200.00

Acorn/leaf gravy boat $120.00
Pheasant and stoneware napkin ring ($16.00 each)
Acorn and leaf dip bowl  $55.00

How about this magnificent gravy boat or in this case they used it as an individual soup tureen?

 Gorgeous squirrel nut bowl  $250.00
Pewter horse atop stoneware napkin ring $16.00 each

And these cheese pick sets are the perfect hostess gift…..whimsical, practical and elegant!

And of course my top selling squirrel nut bowl with pewter squirrel and acorn scoop (5 left) $85.00

And last new things are just added to my European kitchen line…LOVE these items!! These are as beautiful as they are practical. Brand new additions…..perfect for that cook, entertainer or hostess with style! As these are brand new, they are not yet online, if you want one just email me. They will be added sometime next week under European Kitchen. I am so excited about getting these! Click here to see all the European Kitchen goodies online.

Super thick heavy cutting boards… love the scalloped shape, it gives it that special “it” factor

13″ x 22.5″ x 2.5′ $135.00

Geometric cutting board two sizes large 14″ x 14″ x 2.5′ $130.00 and med.

Same geometric design also available as a trivet 14″ x 14″ x 2″ $80.00

Do I giftwrap? I am sorry I do not. I am a one person operation and suffice to say I simply cannot though I don’t blame you for asking:) I jump at the chance for free wrap when I can (as long as they do a pretty job of course:)

And finally I get asked for advice during the holidays on a great hostess gift, so here are a few top picks and ones that I give over and over….

A great hostess gift, any of the monogrammed linens (many under $20-40),  anything monogrammed, like a box of monogrammed soaps or a monogrammed ice bucket and I LOVE the gorgeous crystal urn candles with the most heavenly gardenia scent (triple scented which means even a small candle fills an entire room with the most delicious scent) that are refillable!! The smalls are $45.00 and are so exquisite. One of my favorite things!  Click here to see these candles on my online shop.

These make wonderful gifts I also always have one burning in my powder room and  kitchen when I have guests

The second style….love how old world it feels
This is the “big daddy” 50 oz of pure gardenia heaven. It is so beautiful lit! I have one next to my tub:)
Also giving one of these guest towel or cocktail holders is a practical and very elegant gift. I like to purchase a package of pretty napkins and put them in and then wrap up with cellophane….so pretty! All of these are found on my silver shop online, click here to see them.

Another great gift is getting one of the small bread boards or small olive trays and adding cheeses and/or fruit, crackers, etc….and making it the ultimate gift basket. I did that a few times and to say it went over well is an understatement!

And if you are thinking of a little something for yourself, or a special something for a mom or sister….the alpaca remains one of my most favorite items. Seeing is believing…and these are as luxurious as it gets! Just got in the reversible capes that were sold out, only 1 or 2 of each color so if you were one of the people wanting one…..don’t miss out!

I am offering them at a special promotional price of $340.00 (they retail for $500). This is something you will have forever and want to use everywhere….trust me, I do! Click here to see the line. If you want to order contact me as the promotional price is not online.

As of right now, all colors in stock (for a limited time)

red/navy
charcoal/beige
vicuna/light beige
charcoal /red
black/red
A few other faves from this line are the single colored wrap, the luxurious fingerless gloves and the ultimate bathrobe (cozy doesn’t begin to describe)

Last are the boxwoods which have been really popular lately…….thinking that they are perfect for the holidays. The quality of these boxwoods is the best I have seen. I love boxwood and these are magnificent. The nursery only makes a certain number and there are a few styles already sold out. The 4″ and 6″ boxwood balls and 16″ wreaths are finished for the season. A few other styles are getting close to selling out. So if there is something your eye on don’t wait too long or feel free to email me about its availability! Click here to see boxwood online.

Is this the cutest thing you have ever seen? Mini  4″ boxwood topiaireis! Perfect for a place setting for the holidayss…love this little guy:)
