Hi there. Thank you so much for all of your kind comments about my foyer, I was touched and so happy that you love it as much as I do:) If you missed my foyer reveal, click here.

Snowy but beautiful weekend over here, got about 4″ of the white stuff and I cannot lie, I loved waking up to seeing everything swathed in white. This winter has been cold but very little snow, compared to last year so I am still waiting for one big snowfall before I am ready to move onto spring:)

Had dinner with friends last night and am trying to tackle some “organization projects” today around the house. Hope things are good on your end, here are seven things on my mind this week….

A GORGEOUS? HORSE FARM. I went with a friend to a fellow friends new magnificent horse farm. I took these pictures last year and somehow they got lost in the shuffle. They did such a spectacular job building this horse farm, it has had? me dreaming ever since my visit.

My husband and I both love horses and actually have always toyed with the idea of buying a horse farm.? It’s a dream but hey you never know. Just had to share these beautiful pictures? with you….I know what you are thinking, lucky horses and indeed they are!

DSC_1537You are first greeted by the main house above and then a few smaller cottages (for the lucky caretakers)…they are all so incredibly charming!

And then there is this gorgeous barn…..

2. INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST? Always so much to see on Instagram. It is my daily “pretty fix”. I am never at a loss with pictures to share with you, if anything it is hard to narrow them down. Here is what caught my eye this week…..

3. THREE BEAUTIFUL NYC RESTAURANTS. I don’t get into NY nearly as much as I wish I could but when I do, I am always instantly energized. Three absolutely gorgeous new restaurants (new in 2014) that I am dying to get to, one we have a reservation fro next month, need to work on the other two. Have you been?

? Tutto Il Giorno? (one of the owners is Donna Karan’s daughter, Gabby)

item0.rendition.slideshowHorizontal.five-new-restaurants-01-martaIsn’t this such a cool space! Danny Meyer’s newest restaurant, Marta is gorgeous! Maialino is another favorite (also Danny’s)? and this promises to be as good.

4. AN AMAZING NEW DOCUMENTARY. I am always amazed at the power of music. The way it can make me smile, cry or laugh within a few verses. The way it brings me back to a very specific memory or the way it can make me think about special people in my life. It really is quite extraordinary.

I found out about this new documentary over at Suzanne’s at Privet and Holly and I was captivated, touched, moved and inspired by it. It looks fabulous and groundbreaking to be making the connection particularly for seniors between rehabilitation and music. Watch the trailer….promise it is worth the 2 minutes!

5.? NEW MANTLE MAKEOVER.? I really loved how my living room? mantle came out, and was inspired to do something to? my dining room.

I am actually waiting on a new pair of jars for this mantle so it will once again be tweaked when they arrive but in the meantime, had fun “playing” with various possibilities. I think this shows there are no rules, and just to have fun with the process. You will know when you have gotten it just right:)

Then I decided to go back and add my three emperors again which I think I like better….

6.ANOTHER TALENTED READER/CUSTOMER. I am always bragging about my readers and customers, they are a pretty incredible group and I continue to be amazed by their stories, lives and pictures. I recently heard from another reader (new to me) who shared with me her incredible home and then sent me the link to her culinary/catering site, La Dolce Vita and I was instantly hooked!

Laura clearly knows how to live life. I SO enjoyed this video (after the pictures) as it does a few things- it can inspire anyone to really enjoy what you love doing as clearly she does, makes me hungry for sure, and really puts me in the mood to go and cook up something wonderful.

This video just makes me happy because it demonstrates that it really is the simple pleasures in life that bring us the most joy,? from the prep to the setting up in her beautiful home to the “prize”….sitting around with those you love enjoying a great meal and wine. Cheers to that!

Click here to learn more about La Dolce Vita and thank you Laura for sharing these with me….

Beautiful horse farm and barn. The one thing I have always regretted was not having my own horse. Moved too much. Now I really do not want all the work and we seem to travel too much. It is great to have friends with horses. – Love your mantel and can’t wait to see your new vases or jars.

Good morning Tina! It’s nice to spend this quiet Sunday moment with you before I start my day. THAT HORSE FARM is outrageously perfect. I remember when I moved from L.A. to Boston with my husband, we got in late at night, but in the morning, I woke up to see rolling hills and horses….I wept. I did. Why? Because I adore these animals, but also because I knew I’d never be able to have one! These horses and the owners are quite lucky to have the means to enjoy this lovely scenery and nature.

I hope you are well. Just wanted to say hello, Anita

So much to love this Sunday Tina! The horse farm is gorgeous and yes, those horses and their owners are very lucky. Instagram is a constant source of inspiration, love seeing a new site or two I was not aware of! Music, so inspiring and when I need a lift, turning off Netflix or a program and listening to my favorite music can change my spirits instantly. Congrats to your new sponsor as well, beautiful stationary!

Love Seven on Sunday….your mantel redux is fabulous. Will you be offering the blue and white emperors in your shop?

A great seven on Sunday, Tina. Your mantel looks gorgeous – love the blue and white, of course, and I can’t get over the horse farm – what a dream!! Enjoy your Sunday!

Happy Sunday Tina!!! This is all great – that pic of the baby is just precious!…I dreamed my youngest was still a baby last night – I miss those days! 🙂 Thanks for the heads up on the new restaurants – they all sound great and doesn’t the Polo Lounge look gorgeous?! Laura’s home is stunning and I can’t wait to check out her catering site. AND, your new stationery sponsor is beautiful – I wish I had known about her when I was ordering calendars as gifts for the holidays. I need to flag her for next year.

Enjoy your Sunday and stay warm…can you even believe they are predicting a blizzard for tomorrow? I am NOT looking forward to THAT. We are on our way to stock the house with groceries (along with the rest of Greenwich) and then going to see “The Imitation Game”…I will let you know how it is.

xoxo

Hi Tina, a lot to comment on. Love the fireplace redo, it is just so beautiful. And the farm is a dream- what a fun way to spend the day.

Loved the video with the new documentary and I am going to show it to my parents who being music teachers will really enjoy it, they even already know of it.

Your readers home/video was so great, it really does make me want to go and cook up a special meal, her home is incredible.
Always enjoy these Sunday posts, you have taught me so many things, thank you.

Love, Love, Love the horse farm! You have put a big smile on my face by showing this one of a kind and definitely gorgeous farm. Only you could share such a glamorous life even for the horsey set.

Have a beautiful Sunday!

My Gorgeous Horse

I had to laugh when I saw the baby with kisses all over. I’m one of those people that puts lipstick on in the am after brushing my teeth. The Mister used to give me such a hard time when our babies were covered with kisses. The horse farm is magnificent!! Love the 3 men on your mantle. That video had me mesmerized. Will definitely go over and check her out. Have a wonderful week, dear Tina.

First, I would live in the horse barn…currently cleaner than my laundry room. The horse farm is stunning…and you are right…Lucky horses.

The lipstick baby is so cute…I love your 7 on Sunday.

As always, your ‘Seven on Sunday’ was great. I especially appreciate your sharing the documentary trailer. I volunteer at a nursing home, playing the piano for residents in the community center. About a year ago, the activities director decided to bring in some Alzheimer patients in to see if they would enjoy the music. Interestingly, most of them — including a few who had not spoken in quite some time — began to sing to the music. (I primarily play selections from the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s.) Now, these residents join us every week. It’s really amazing to watch them come alive.

Thanks for sharing your mantle re-do. It’s nice to know someone else is into tweaking, and then tweaking some more! (When my grandmother’s decorator finished her house my grandmother never moved an item, other than to dust. The same pieces sat in the same spots for 50 years. To each his own, but that is not my way. I like to PLAY!) I enjoy seeing the progress on your home and the joy it brings you.

Thanks for sharing the horse farm too. It is spectacular!

Hi Tina, just wanted to say this was some amazing blog. It made me smile, it made me cry and it made me hungry. You realise I’m going to have to have another cup of coffee. Thank you for sharing beauty. Till next time….Regards Esther from Sydney. PS a while back NBC showed this great big new deli in New York called Eataly it looks like you could spend hours there….have you been there? Over here the deli is a must.

now that’s a lovely packed sunday! i am trying hard not to obsess about the cupcake on insta…but it’s impossible. must make these. my sunday has been exhausting as we are now home to the snow and real life. i think i’ll gently ease into the week and keep the island pace going as long as possible. mahalo for all the beauty, tina!

So much to comment on. That horse is gorgeous, and I’m really not even a horse person! Love your mantel, and the stationery. But that baby with the lipstick kisses!! I wish I could go back and do that on my kids. Well, I did it, but not with lipstick and photos- so cute

I couldn’t open the video on my ipad so I just went to the computer to watch it. I spent the last night of my mom’s life with her, in the nursing home with wonderful hospice care, last June. I played Elvis Presley’s “Love Me Tender” to her all night long (her favorite song). Her eyes had been closed and she was unresponsive for days before that. In fact, she passed at 7:30 am the next morning. But the night before, lying in bed with her listening to the song, she made a happy sound just like the man in the video, and I KNEW, 100% and without a doubt, that it was in response to the music. Just like I absolutely knew that at one point she knew I was there with her. Thank you Tina. Thank you for sharing this video clip. I can’t tell you how much it moved me.

Hi Tina, Always love seeing what’s on your radar. So much goodness here. I am especially wowed by that horse farm. The stables are amazing. What lucky horses, indeed. Such incredible animals. My grandparents used to breed and show the most gorgeous 5-gated horses, and I always feel like it’s in my blood even though I rarely get to ride…

And your mantle. So perfect! I wasn’t kidding about the styling help that’s in order at my house right now. I keep looking into the living room and feeling uninspired. I’m thinking some blue and white from your shop is in order, if I can just find the time for some online shopping this week! Wish I had you and a bottle of champagne and an hour or so to shape things up!

Hope you have a wonderful week – and that you are safe and warm and hunkered down, ready for the snow.

XOXO

So much goodness! Stunning horse farm and I need to just follow your Instagrams!!

So excited to have some more NYC restaurant recommendations. We’ll be at PB in Feb, too!

Your readers are the best! Her house is beyond fab!
xoxo Elizabeth
