Hello hope you had a wonderful weekend! Ours was fun with holiday parties and tying up lots of loose ends. We have a final holiday party to go to tonight and then countdown is on!

So Christmas is upon us. Really hard to believe….how did it sneak up so fast? I must say this year was a year of highs and lows. The highs thankfully made for some really wonderful memories and the lows sadly made the holidays slightly temper my normal enthusiasm. No matter what I tried, how loud I cranked “I will be home for Christmas” it actually made me cry more than laugh, how many decorations I pulled out, how much wrapping paper I bought……I just could not get in the spirit with the same vigor that I normally do, however in the last week with a few parties, lots of present buying and wrapping, I have felt a lot more jolly!

So the bottom line is I did not quite feel it as I normally do and let’s not forget the 69 degree days….strange!? Christmas card pictures just fell to the wayside, along with many other things. So be it…..in the end, I said I did the best I could and truth be told,? the house really does look festive. We had a Christmas family party the other night and as much as I wanted to take pictures I just got too caught up playing hostess, but I managed to get a couple.

Some areas like my kitchen and bathrooms were not “decorated” normally I leave no stone upturned but I did what I could and truthfully it feels quite festive, included a few highlights from the family party and included some food pics for good measure. I divided my pictures into a part 1 and 2. Almost no narration as I think the pictures speak for themselves……

I used my Nikon camera for all of these pictures…..I like the size and the clarity just cannot be duplicated with a iPhone or iPad

So there you have a look at my holiday decor, tomorrow I will share the rest inducing more highlights, my tree and other areas around the house. I am almost afraid to say it, but with the exception of one more gift..I am done with my Christmas shopping! I hope to get that gift today then will get busy wrapping more gifts. I can’t believe it but they are calling for 70 degrees in NY for Christmas day…..sorry but that does not work for me! I want flurries at the very least:)

Be back on Wednesday with part 2…don’t work too hard and hope your? “elf duties” are just about done! This little elf is ready to call it a day and just enjoy the holiday with her family:) Until next time…..

Your pictures look beautiful! I have to tell you I took your suggestion and had my Christmas card made by Dixie designs, it featured my daughter’s wedding day and they are the most beautiful cards. I am getting rave reviews. Thank you for introducing me to them!
I can’t tell you how excited I am that you will be getting monogrammed guest towels. Yay! I love those that are a little more substantial and user friendly vs the linen, which are beautiful but not as user friendly.
Merry Christmas, I look forward to reading your blog every single day!!!

Tina– Everything is just beautiful! Thank you for sharing. I love seeing Christmas with so many natural elements and all that gorgeous blue and white! I totally enjoyed my “coffee with your Enchanted Home” this morning. I must get back to my elf duties, but have a joyous holiday.

The Reason for the Season!

Tina, I’m sorry to hear about recent events that have weighed heavy on your mind this season. Taking it slow and gathering family and friends around helps and I’m happy to hear you’ve done some entertaining. Everything looks beautiful ..as usual. You’ve got so much space to work with and your attention to every detail makes for a magazine worthy home. Enjoy your day!

Stunning and impeccably tasteful, as always! Wishing you a Merry Christmas and hoping you feel the joy to its fullest. One would never know you’re not feeling as festive as usual. It’s just gorgeous. Have a peaceful New Year, as well!

Tina – thank you for sharing your gracious home and exquisite decorations. I’ve had a hard time getting into the Christmas spirit; this will be the first one celebrated without my incredible parents. Your post reminded me how much I love the Christmas season and how special it is when made festive. Merry Christmas and Godspeed

Wonderful setting, love blue/white with white flowers.
I have collected many blue/white pieces over the years and still feel a flutter when I see a nice collection. I will never tire of it.
Hope you have a lovely Xmas.
Best regards Lillian

Beautiful, Tina. Love the white azalea topiaries and all your greenery and pine cones. Looks like your mother in law had wonderful taste in desserts. Merry Christmas.

Thank you, Tina, for the extra push I needed to get me through the next few days! We are hosting our families Christmas Eve and Day. It could be a train wreck or not:) I’m hoping the latter. I have to pace my wine ( PS looking up your sangria recipe from an earlier post). Otherwise the wheels are off the wagon:( Enjoy! Your pictures are all beautiful. BTW… I’m totally stealing your fruit tray idea. Thank you!

Your home looks beautiful and very festive. It has been a tough year for you and hopefully you can make sweet memories at Christmas and that will give you something to look back at this year and smile. Blessings to you and yours.

Beautiful images..so much thought and love put into making your home a special place for family and friends during the holidays. I absolutely love your bathroom with the green Chinoiserie wallpaper and chandelier. (You gave me some inspiration to perhaps redo my powder room!)

Take the time to sit, relax and enjoy your beautiful home with your family..I know you will!

Hi Tina,

It looks beyond beautiful Tina! I dont know if its the fact that I am turning 50 or the warm weather but I just couldnt get myself in gear for Christmas! No photos cards either and I am usually so good with that. We are heading away on Christmas day so that really put a twist on the Holiday.
I wish you a lovely healthy Christmas and a fantastic New Year! xo Karolyn

Tina, I agree with you the strange weather does not work for me either! I do not want it ti be 65 on Christmas, I want the cold, the snow flurry, and a roaring fire.

Your house looks beautiful! I love all of the sugar cones and paperwhites. Looking forward to hearing and seeing more of your decorations.

Have a very happy holiday Tina, Merry Christmas!

Elizabeth

Hello Tina,

Everything is so lovely!

Do you have the recipe for your mother in laws favorite dessert? It looks delicious!

Happy Yalda!

Best,
Annemarie

It must be catching this year, that feeling of being a little flat and not getting into the usual excitement of Christmas, as I too have the same feeling. For the first time ever I haven’t decorated a tree, or hung my usual decorations. I haven’t baked a pudding or a cake, or even mince pies and shortbread. You have managed to make your house look lovely and festive with what you have achieved though. Perhaps, with such a warm day forecast, you can pretend that you are celebrating Australian style and eat outside and BBQ some prawns (Shrimps to you) and cook your turkey in the BBQ oven as we do. 70 degrees is lovely, to have the true Aussie experience it really needs to be closer to 100 and to have swarms of flies and mosquitoes, and the deafening sounds of cicadas!
Have a wonderful day and I hope 2016 brings all the love, peace and happiness to you and your loved ones.

I just had a thought regarding a festive fruit platter. I recently saw watermelon cut with Christmas tree cookie cutters. They had cut the slice fairly thinly and pushed the base of the tree into the green part of the flesh near the rind and made cute little tree shapes. The wasted watermelon could then be used in that lovely watermelon, red onion, fetta and mint salad, or into a fruit salad.

Hello Tina,
Beautiful home! Enjoyed looking at all of your Christmas Decor throughout your home.
Have a wonderful holiday Season!
