I love the baby in the sink,the beach house with the very large American flag and the flower girls. The “Mothers prayer”… We have all written that in our heart at midnight while we wondered would this night ever end….
I swear this Mother’s Prayer was written just for me. My daughter is 45, and she STILL reminds me of the time I made her wear an ugly orange life jacket in front of all the other kids. Thanks, Tina!
My daughter is getting married very soon. I would love to read Tina Fey’s note to her at her rehearsal dinner ? Maybe in her suitcase as she leaves on her honeymoon ? Or her bridal shower ? – such my thoughts too ..

I know your excited about your next adventure..PB…and what fun it is to decorate. But, my guess is your heart is also calling elsewhere. Funny, how fast the kids grow up and fly out of the nest……and now we look at babies in another longing way…..I will never have any grandchildren, but you may be blessed ( even though it may take awhile). Your posts on Sunday also reveal babies….heartstrings are pulled till they can stretch no more , and the emptiness and longing is felt.
In the meantime, create yet another beautiful home, and wait your horses. You are blessed.

As our babies grow to be men and women we can gather joy in the pure innocence of the world’s other children. It’s all good. Thank you for a sweet and humorous post, once again. These little ones are what matter over all the stuff of life.
Just came home from watching my grandson’s baseball game. Had read Tina Fey’s poem before, it makes you smile, nod your head in agreement and tear up all in one sitting. Now, I need to warm up. Those 8:00 AM games on Saturday morning are freezing, but worth every minute.
