Want to see my new virtual dream beach house? Come on inside…..

This simply could not wait another hour……I interrupt my normal blog posts to bring you my dream beach house. Virtually I have been? looking for my “dream beach house” and I have at long last found it.? We are a match made in heaven if there ever was one. It has everything I want from being ocean front to having a pool and tennis court, a tennis pavillion…sure why not! Gorgeous interiors, even a touch of blue and white, ocean views for miles…it is absolutely a match made in heaven!!? First time in nearly 40 years this treasure is being offered up for sale…a Hamptons gem to be sure, and its located on swanky Gin Lane to boot!

I nearly fainted when I saw it, it is soooooo goregous. Granted this is hardly your typical “beach shack”, not a weathered gable for miles, no rustic driftwood, no siree…but this is a house that is just a “knock your socks off” kind of house. Oh the parties I could have! Ready to see my virtual new beach house (hey one can dream, best part it’s free)! Here we go, as you scroll, be sure to visualize the sound and image of crashing waves and seagulls flying about…….

What a compound! It has everything and then to be on the sparkling Atlantic…..perfection!

?Love this room….

?Beautiful dining room, love the chandy and sconces!
?I love the feeling of the kitchen and wouldn’t change a thing!

?Stunning bedroom suite….love the soft colors
?See the blue and white? Its calling me!

?This is such a cozy spot….I would hold my afternoon Scrabble and Monopoly game sessions in here….

?This is a view I could certainly get used to waking up to!
Champagne please………
?Another gorgeous elegant room…..

?I will have my coffee and croissants here ever morning, thank you.

?Lovely for afternoon cocktails…….

?This is totally meant to be….this room has my name all over it.
?There it is again…that blue and white beckoning!
?Wow…now that is what I call a tennis pavillion!
?Lovely……
?I just love the feeling of this bath…its old fashioned but so elegant

?Great playroom…..love the neutral tonal look

Well……..what do you think? Amazing or what!! It’s rare for me to see a house where I would virtually change nothing. OK if I am being picky I might swap out the striped cushions on the outdoor furniture for ivory solids and add my blue and white pillows 🙂 But that is it! Now if you just happen to be in the? market for a $45 million dollar beach house in tony Southampton, click here to notify the broker immediately that you want the contracts mailed? pronto but please I ask one favor, instead of paying me my finders fee….just let me have an unlimted “free pass” as a guest to visit anytime I please. Deal?? Hope you enjoyed…..

Back to reality, don’t forget to visit my Mad for monograms post and be sure to leave a comment so you are eligible for the giveaway! Today is the last day, I will announce a winner of the lovely autographed Monogram issues by Victoria. Its a keeper! Wishing you a wonderful Sunday and relaxing end to your week. A beach house project!

Before I begin this post…got in 4 fabulous dough bowls yesterday. All stunning, they go fast and there are always people wanting one….so if interested email me here.
Good Friday morning! I really enjoy the relatively new concept of e-desgn. Its a lot of fun and I am working on two great projects right now. One of them is a project for a wonderful lady who wants to freshen up her beach house. She was open to ideas/colors but prefers earth tones, however was not opposed to introducing other colors into the room. We are starting with the living room. The idea was to create a sophisticated, but fresh inviting vibe to the space. In the next room over, the family room, there is navy and off white. There is a lot of sunlight and very high ceilings. (we have not really addressed art or wall application yet).

So I started with the earth tones, to honor her wishes and because we all know that when you start with a neutral palette, it makes it so easy to change things up when and if you want to down the road. I came up with four mood broads, which I am sharing with you today. Mind you, these are concepts at this point and will be tweaked and fine tuned when she decides which way she wants to go. Its always fun to hear your take…so if you we redoing a beach house living room, which of these would you choose?

CHOICE 1

CHOICE 2

CHOICE 3

CHOICE 4

I have to say I am having a hard time making my own mind up. I am really torn between two. How about you? I wish that was my dilemma….decorating for my beach house:) Look forward to hearing what you have to say and wishing you a fabulous Friday!

Randon musings and my start on Christmas decorating!

Hi there! So happy to be back in blogland!  Was also excited to see my scheduled post on “enchanted giving” posted on Sunday. I am happy to announce a winner this morning for the 3 bars of monogrammed soaps and soap dish! Here we go, congrats goes to-

Result:#87 (from random number generator)

There is so much to love! I am particularly fond of the dough bowls. And the napkin rings… Thank you for the giveaway. Susan H. sphicks@aol.com

Please contact me with your contact and shipping information click here to email me. I will be having many more giveaways right up to Christmas so stay tuned!

Moving on….hope your Thanksgiving holiday was fabulous! Ours was so much fun. I have never spent Thanksgiving by the beach and have to say, we had a blast. Besides my sisters family we also had extended family in from out of town so it was chaotic, loud, food everywhere, football games blasting, kids all over, just the way I like it…very lively! The super charming home from the movie, Nights in Rodanthe was filmed there.

The Outer Banks are so beautiful, a very lively beach community and I have to say the beach itself is one of the most beautiful I have seen. It is so wide and open, truly spectacular as my pictures will show. It is also to me, simply magical to be by the ocean in the “off season” walking the expanse of beach with not a soul in sight….talk about peaceful!  It was nice being away for four days, it was a much needed little break. I am now ready to plow ahead with a super busy month. Below are a few highlights from our trip…I am always so inspired to take pictures when by the ocean!

My sisters adorable (and very athletic) golden, Moosey! He could be Teddy’s twin and they are good buddies…we so wish Teddy had been with us.

Last house right before the beach……newly completed, love the decks and the views are spectacular!

Headed over the dunes to the ocean and letting Moosey be our fearless leader…….
Moosey showing off for the camera!! Boy, can he swim!

Even on a very foggy morning, the beach was absolutely spectacular!
Everyone said they had never seen the shoreline this close to the dunes ever.

 Still going………..

Show off!

Sisters neighborhood……..great homes, wonderful community, amazing beach..what more do you need!
Now hes off to the lake….he just cannot get enough!

We went on a wild horse tour…….fun fun fun to go off roading on the beach in a giant hummer!

The house from the movie, Nights in Rodanthe

And we are off…….it was a spectacular day (but coooold)……..
Absolutely breathtaking stretch of beach, that went on like this for miles and miles……….
Check out the “sea foam”……looks like snow!

How calming and peaceful is this? Made me want to pitch a tent….lol
This house is the closest to the ocean that I have ever seen, it is practically IN the ocean. I mean I do love ocean front but this is a little scary…..

Hey,, we finally spotted a “wild horse”!!!!!!! Not exactly as I had imagined in my mind but good enough!

Lots of off roaders on the beach this day after Thanksgiving

An old Coast guard building…charming. What I could do to that to make it mine:)
Second sighting of “the wild horses”….OK this is not the wild beautiful mustangs I envisioned galloping on the beach at breakneck speed but this lazy fella sure gave us a good laugh (not to the amusement of our “tour guide”)

The house so close to the ocean…I will call it “Oceans edge”
So those are a few highlights..it was so much fun. We really had a blast and the best part was of course, all of us being together..doesn’t get better!! Onto Christmas!
And speaking of Christmas….I am starting to do some Christmas decorating around here, lots more to go, but here’s a peek of whats happening around here

Got my dough bowl ready for the holidays and have to say I LOVE the way it turned out…also super easy, green, berries and scented pinecones..voila and I was done!

And on my breakfast room table flanked by two pretty red amaryllis plants.

And then I started some outdoor decorating too…still have to get my big oversized wreath and will probably add some boxwood garland around the door but will see…..

And on a hallway chest, I kept this little vignette in all golds, silvers and pewter tones…..

And in a hallway chest……getting things all spruced up for the Christmas spirit…….

Here’s a “do it yourselfer’ I worked on, still need to add the finishing touches but have to say I really love how its coming out. Saw one in a store for $290.00 and felt it was so overpriced. I made this for about  $20!! (not including the tole planter)

And I love experimenting with table settings…….this was one such “experiment”…..

I have a very large antique blue and white bowl (about 20″) which I like to change seasonally with different plants.I planted it with white poinsettias and put scented pinecones at the base…..

Though I am not done, I am putting the finishing touches on my planters and have yet to hang the wreath( in a week or so) and maybe garland around the door..so consider these “in progess” shots!

Last speaking of dough bowls…..just got my last batch from this particular lot of bowls from Hungary and Belgium. They are truly exceptional. As the saying goes these are truly  “the pick of the litter” and as pretty as they get. So many of you have written that its simply easier to post them here with their sizes and it will be first come first serve. Absolutely stunning bowls! Contact me here if you are interested. A new batch will be here in February from this resource. In the meantime I will still be able to get some from my other resource but they are not quite as special as these (in my humble opinion)!

 This beauty is 31×17

 And this one is 32×17

This one is 27×17

And finally this one is 26×17

For anyone who is contemplating a napkin ring order…….this is the final week of my napkin rings being offered at their introductory price of $45.00. As of this weekend they will be $55.00 (still very competitive and discounted heavily). Remember any napkin ring you have seen on my site can be ordered though not all are on the online store!

I have some new goodies being added to New Arrivals which will be there later today, be sure to check them out! Here’s a sneak peek at whats new….

So that’s whats going on over here! I will be posting 2-3 times a week as opposed to my usual 4 and even sometimes 5 times a week from here on until Christmas, it is such a busy season with all that I have going on plus my blog and online shop…… I do need to sleep (wink)  and I have many balls I am juggling in the air! Thanks for stopping in, wishing you a wonderful day and all the joys of this magical season!

Which would you choose? And a guest post!

Happy Monday to you! Notice a new banner? Told you this would be my new obsession, so don’t be surprised to see it change from time to time. These are all my own house so it has special meaning:)

I am sooo honored to be featured on one of my absolute most favorite blogs in all of blogland, I am being featured today at Splendid Sass. Lovely Teresa chose to feature me, my home and shop and I am so touched and thrilled. And let me tell you, its like a book…she did an unbelievable job posting pictures of the house that even I forgot about and was so happy to see! I mean we are talking about Teresa, who posts THE most beautiful images to be found in the entire blogosphere….always something totally jaw droppingly gorgeous to see over there! I am naturally tickled pink to “make the cut” and be featured! So do head over…promise you will be glad you did. Click here to visit!

A new week, and summer is here….woo hoo! I feel like its going to go by so fast already, I am ready to christen the new season with a much anticipated lobster dinner, a beach day and a nice cool tropical mixed drink! Whenever summer rolls around, I cannot help but think about how much I want a beachhouse. It happens every year….sure enough.
But then again when I visit NYC, it makes me long for our old apt. and yet again when I go to a lake, naturally I am craving a charming laid back lake house. And lets not forget about my dreams of becoming a modern day farmgal complete with my own charming farmhouse, a big thriving garden and only the sound of crickets. So all this desire brings me to my post today. Lets just imagine you and your significant other, your family or just you! has decided to buy a second home….a vacation reprise. Where oh where would you go? The beach, a lake, a bustling city pied a terre, so many possibilities but you can only choose one! So think hard, and let me hear which would be your choice!! I cannot wait to hear!

CHOICE 1 This charming and cozy beach house

CHOICE 2 This picturesque tranquil lake house right on the water

CHOICE 3 This fabulous and chic  apartment high in the sky in your favorite city

CHOICE 4 This idyllic farmhouse on a large plot of land with not a neighbor in site

CHOICE 5. Or who needs the maintenance? Give me a lifetime of airline tickets and my passport to be free to discover new places on a whim……..

I am so torn between each of them…..truly there is something to love and lust after with each lifestyle including the luxury and freedom of traveling whenever and to wherever you want but then again, those airport lines, the chaos, removing your shoes, no water bottles, on second thought an actual physical vacation house that’s all mine sounds really good afterall. But which to choose? I cannot wait to hear what you have to say! Wishing you a fabulous day.
