Can we talk?

Hi there…..haven’t done one of these in a long time! My weekend started off really busy? but? sadly hurt my knee again so had to miss my nieces graduation party, I was so upset as being in bed with a huge pack of ice, it was not the Sat. night I envisioned! But the rest and icing has paid off and I am feeling better today, but will be proceeding with extreme caution!? With a prom, graduation, sports dinner, and my sons graduation party, needless to say this is a busy week and I need to be in top form.? I was lucky to find some older drafts that had never gotten published to? help me see me through this busy week. I also have a Steals and Deals I am putting the finishing touches on that is not to be missed (hopefully tomorrow)!

One thing I am looking for is a new fragrance. Are you an “experimenter” or do you have your own “signature fragrance”? I like having that comfortable “go to” to rely on, the one that I know works well with my body chemistry, tried and true. My preference for 95% of the time is a light powdery fragrance. I love the smell of a freshly bathed baby….ahhh smells so good! That explains one of my choices below. So….I am all ears if you have a favorite scent, that would be considered light and musky/powder, please please please tell me about it.

We have a darling little store not far that carries all these really neat brands and a friend of mine had bought this amazing musk parfum for me there, I loved it so much that I kept buying it, I loved that it wasn’t available in many places so you can imagine my sadness when I waltzed in there to stock up and was told they had one bottle left and the company had closed!!!!! So not fair!!! I googled it and found two bottles of it and have not found it since:) Nothing has come close so here I am again looking…and hoping you might help.

This list of fragrances that worked well for me is kind of all over the map, J Low and Chanel hardly belong in the same sentence but they both smelled so good on me! I got compliments all the time. LOVE Harijuku Baby but it doesn’t seem to last as long as I would like, have had Cashmere Mist for a long time and Daisy is a newer purchase but I don’t love it. Jo Malone has the staying power that I want but somehow they smell very strong on me. Let’s just say you can smell me coming way before I enter the room:)? Chanel 5 is a classic and here to stay but a bit strong for me for everyday. So here is where you come in…I need your advice/input/suggestions!!

Come on…..talk to me. Tell me what you love to wear and if any of them are soft and powdery,? light and musky. Fingers crossed you might come up with my new signature fragrance. Thanks for stopping in! Be back tomorrow to announce the winner of the beautiful gloves from Angela’s Garden. If you didn’t add your name to the hat, click here. Have a wonderful day and start to your week.

Say hello to Elizabeth from Avery Graham and a really MAJOR giveaway!

Hi, well its been a busy busy week. Between the Blue and White love contest, to which the responses was simply amazing to the steals and deals..its been quite a whirlwind. I am still unloading boxes and will be offering more wonderful finds over the next few weeks so no worries if you missed out this last time, lots more goodies to come!

Nothing like ending the week on a really high note. A REALLY high note. Today we are talking skin care. As we glide into a new season, with colder drier air, no matter what kind of skin you have its sure to change as the temperatures dip. I am a product junkie and my bathroom drawers will not argue (nor will my husband). Over the years I have tried many skin care products, some I have loved and others I either tossed or gave to someone else to try.

I had mentioned receiving the most beautiful package of skin care goodies from Avery Graham about 6 weeks ago. The timing was actually ideal as I was not loving my regimen and was on the prowl for good new products aka miracles. I must tell you I am really really loving this line. I haven’t been this excited over a skin care line in a long time!? They are sooooooo luxurious and feel so decadent on my skin. It feels like I am giving my skin a rich moisture bath every time I use them.

?I have to say the moisturizers and eye cream might be one of the best I have ever used. I had two people comment on my skin this week, both saying it looked like it was glowing!? I love when it glows and is? dewy,? plump and youthful look (yea I know you are saying and who doesn’t?

I only talk about what I really love. This is not the first skincare I have received but its the first one I felt compelled to get the word out about. On top of that Elizabeth, the founder of Avery Graham has so generously and I mean generously offered a major giveaway, a huge box filled with every conceivable product (valued at over $1000.00)!!!! How is that for a giveaway!!

So this is a win/win. I am ecstatic over my new skin care, got to meet my own personal skincare guru who is so ready to answer all questions and am getting to share her line with you through this stupendous giveaway!!!! Elizabeth Cardarelli was so gracious to answer my questions, and let me tell you her thorough replies could warrant a book on it’s own and just think its all free here on this post:)

Ready to hear from Elizabeth? Take notes people, this is everything you wanted to know about skincare, aging, taking care of your skin, myths and more……a true wealth of information and I am excited!

?1. How did you get involved in the world of skincare? How long have you been doing it?

I actually was a PR Coordinator for a popular television dance show, Dance Party USA/Dancing on Air. We lost our contract with USA network and I was having difficulty finding a job in my field and decided to answer an ad to represent a natural skincare line, and fell in love! I then heard about the first aesthetic program to be offered in the Philadelphia area and decided to take the course to better advise and educate my clients.

Not long after that, I pounded the pavement and knocked on the doors of plastic surgeons to convince them that they needed me to teach their patients how to take care of their skin.

25 years later, I’m still excited to be a clinical aesthetician and the founder and creator of Avery Graham Noble Skin Care. My goal when I first started was to take care of one patient at a time by becoming their skincare expert and coach, providing the tools that they would need for acne, pregnancy, menopause, cancer and aging?to maintain, correct, repair, and heal their skin throughout life’s journey. I never would have imagined that one shift in direction could led to such a exhilarating career that leaves me fulfilled each day!

Upon reflection, my journey began when I was a little girl volunteering as a candy striper at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania… making beds, aiding the nurses, and helping the patients feel their best. I knew then that I wanted help people, and I’m proud to say the place that inspired me now carries the Avery Graham Purity Collection, designed specifically for patients. It’s ironic how life’s journey can lead us back to what originally inspired us. Following your heart or passion is always what serves us best.?

2. Just how much does the environment/weather/seasons really affect our skin?

?It greatly affects it. Our environment has greatly shifted from years ago. Pollution, seasonal changes, barometric pressure shifts, and harsh environments can take a toll on our shield of armor. I commonly advise runners to really commit to skin protection while out in the elements. The daily impact has a cumulative affect that can be unfavorable. This is where hydration and/or sunscreen is most effective. You need a barrier between you and the environment. So, protect yourself and ward off premature aging.

3. Any myths about skin that you want to clear up/clarify?

?Sunscreen!

The poor sun has received such a bad rap, and we need it for us to be healthy human beings. ?Yes, of course you want to protect yourself from overexposure to the sun, but it is not necessary to wear sunscreen everyday. Many sunscreens are filled with chemicals that are not good for us and overusing them can contribute to excess breakouts, acne, and vitamin D deficiencies.

So, here is my recommendation: if you are in the sun for a prolonged amount of time, at the beach or involved in outdoor activities, wear sunscreen! If you are leaving your house to take a 10 minute walk or to go to work, you do not need sunscreen! I also think that sunscreen should not be used as source for hydration. ?It’s a protecting agent, not a phyto-enriched nourishing hydrator. ?Be aware of the differences.

4. Tell me please! 2 of the best things those of us with dry skin can do do our skin to keep it nourished and hydrated.

This is such a great question… Exfoliate and Hydrate!
Although, I wish you asked for 3 things Tina, and I’ll tell you why…

Let’s talk about exfoliation first:

In clinical skincare our main ?focus is with the “stimulators and correctors” because they will create the most significant change within your skin. Those products would contain ?AHAs, (glycolic and lactic acid) tretinoin (retin-a or retinols), and the free radical fighters known as antioxidants which can be a skincare cocktail of DMAE, alpha lipoic acid, phyto nutrients, vitamins, and ?minerals.

Daily exfoliation is key and it’s not about harsh exfoliators to scrub the skin off, it’s about being good to your skin with serums that infuse nutrients and exfoliants that remove ?dead skin cells cumulatively. I frequently compare a good skincare regime to working out or being on a diet… I think clinical treatments are essential, but would you go to the gym and come home to eat french fries and expect a better body? Consistency is key for any lasting result, especially for dry or dehydrated skin.

Moisturizers:

I can’t tell ?you how many patients I see daily that are using various hydrators ranging from the most inexpensive brands to the top of the crop, and are still dry, wrinkled and often break out because they are using too much to hydrate the dead skin. This was one of my personal problems and why I created my moisturizers. For instance Avery Graham’s Pink Opulence is a true game changer in skin nourishment and hydration. ?This product contains phyto nutrients to nourish, regenerate, heal, and soothe the epidermal skin. You start to see vibrancy within your skin just as you would see within your body if you we’re nourishing it well. The use of ?parabens, mineral oils, and petroleums are ineffective in changing the skin because the molecular structure is too large to penetrate into the tissue; therefore, acting as a barrier. ?This is why so many people suffering from dry skin never seem to see a change.

And why I suggested a third product…

Skincare should be customized to the individuals’ needs. Without my serums and moisturizers, I would be lost. But, for me, it all starts with preparing and treating the canvas with the cleanser. ?If I were to use something too harsh on dry skin, I am already at a disadvantage in moving to the next step because now my skin has been compromised. So, I would say, cleaning your skin with something that’s appropriate for you is the key

5. Please set the record straight…are there any products in the market that can help stall the aging process? Or are we just buying into the fancy packaging and slick marketing?

?I recently attended a seminar with the remarkable Dr. Andrew Weil, and I agree with what he said… There is no anti-aging, we are all aging… We just have to decide how we are going to do it. This really is the foundation of how my skin care line, Avery Graham, was created. Just as Dr.Weil explained that heart disease is no longer just about the heart – it’s about the body and how it functions as one complete system, fabulous and healthy skin needs the same support to radiate from within. Long ago, I realized that you could not just treat acne, dry skin, eczema, or any other skin condition by ignoring what was going on in the body. Water, phyto nutrients, exercise, and sleep all lay the stepping stone to aging well and having you look your best throughout the different stages of your life. So, yes, there are some key components that have proven the test of time, retinols probably being the leaders, but they alone cannot give you the optimum result. I think it’s a shift in our ?mindset about how we view our health and our skin. ?My approach is very different in treating the skin, and I think this is why my patients have experienced success for over 25 years.

6. What are two things we must all do every day without fail to protect our skin?

?Sip and Sweep!

Sip water, life’s essential nutrient, all day long. ?You need it to maintain a healthy body, functioning mind, and hydrated tissue.

Sweep away the day’s impurities such as environmental pollution, germs, chemicals, and bacteria by washing your face once you are home and begin to settle in for the night. ?Many people fail to do this because they fall asleep and don’t feel like doing it. ??I advise my patients to wash their face as soon as they come home for the night, this way you’re actually doing something good for your skin and your additional products have chance to work their magic instead of soaking into your pillowcase because you put them on 5 minutes before going to bed.?

?
7. For someone who is not diligent about skincare and needs? no fuss regimen, how would you guide them?

?Cleanse, vitamin infused serum and/or exfoliate, and hydrate.

For the morning: I would cleanse your skin, do a vitamin enriched phyto serum like our Restora that firms, tightens, and brightens your skin, and then moisturize.

For the evening: cleanse, exfoliate with Active Glycolic Serum that exfoliates dead skin, tightens the tissue, repairs sun damage, age spots, fine lines, wrinkles and absorbs oil, glycolic acclimates to your skin needs, then moisturize.

A little goes a long way to maintain a healthy appearance!

8. Does drinking a lot of water really and truly make a difference in the way our skin looks?

?Absolutely! If you want to maintain good skin or if you’re trying to repair and correct… hydration is so essential to a healthy body. So, fill up and reap the rewards that water naturally provides – it flushes toxins, improves complexion, increases energy, relieves fatigue, boosts immunity, and it’s free!

9. What is the number one mistake people make when it comes to skin?

Not properly cleansing your skin and going to bed with makeup on! ! !

10. How is your line different from the countless others out there??

In many ways, we are different!?Avery Graham’s products were developed from making my custom mixtures for patients.?I’ve been successfully serving my ?patients’ needs for 25 years by concocting my own?clinical treatments, custom compounds, and layered formulations with pharmaceutical ingredients.
??? I’ve taken what I’ve developed in my clinical practice and combined it with phyto nutrients, vitamins and minerals to create this luxurious skincare line without parabens and formaldahaydes. What you end up with is the perfect synergy of wellness, science and nature. As my mentor once said, “poison ivy is natural, but you wouldn’t rub it all over yourself.”?It’s important to remember that creating balance, as in life, is essential in skincare. And this is why I would say, “Come Discover The Avery Graham Difference!”

And this is like a milkshake for your skin, delicious and so nutritious 🙂 VERY hydrating
How amazing is this interview? Doesn’t it make you want to run to your bathroom and start taking care of your skin in a whole new way? I must admit Elizabeth I am guilty of #9. oops. In clinical skincare our main  focus is with the “stimulators and correctors” because they will create the most significant change within your skin. Those products would contain  AHAs, (glycolic and lactic acid) tretinoin (retin-a or retinols), and the free radical fighters known as antioxidants which can be a skincare cocktail of DMAE, alpha lipoic acid, phyto nutrients, vitamins, and  minerals.

Daily exfoliation is key and it’s not about harsh exfoliators to scrub the skin off, it’s about being good to your skin with serums that infuse nutrients and exfoliants that remove  dead skin cells cumulatively. I frequently compare a good skincare regime to working out or being on a diet… I think clinical treatments are essential, but would you go to the gym and come home to eat french fries and expect a better body? Consistency is key for any lasting result, especially for dry or dehydrated skin.

Moisturizers:

I can’t tell  you how many patients I see daily that are using various hydrators ranging from the most inexpensive brands to the top of the crop, and are still dry, wrinkled and often break out because they are using too much to hydrate the dead skin. This was one of my personal problems and why I created my moisturizers. For instance Avery Graham’s Pink Opulence is a true game changer in skin nourishment and hydration.  This product contains phyto nutrients to nourish, regenerate, heal, and soothe the epidermal skin. You start to see vibrancy within your skin just as you would see within your body if you we’re nourishing it well. The use of  parabens, mineral oils, and petroleums are ineffective in changing the skin because the molecular structure is too large to penetrate into the tissue; therefore, acting as a barrier.  This is why so many people suffering from dry skin never seem to see a change.

And why I suggested a third product…

Skincare should be customized to the individuals’ needs. Without my serums and moisturizers, I would be lost. But, for me, it all starts with preparing and treating the canvas with the cleanser.  If I were to use something too harsh on dry skin, I am already at a disadvantage in moving to the next step because now my skin has been compromised. So, I would say, cleaning your skin with something that’s appropriate for you is the key

5. Please set the record straight…are there any products in the market that can help stall the aging process? Or are we just buying into the fancy packaging and slick marketing?

I recently attended a seminar with the remarkable Dr. I think it’s a shift in our  mindset about how we view our health and our skin.  My approach is very different in treating the skin, and I think this is why my patients have experienced success for over 25 years.

6. What are two things we must all do every day without fail to protect our skin?

 Sip and Sweep!

Sip water, life’s essential nutrient, all day long.  You need it to maintain a healthy body, functioning mind, and hydrated tissue.

Sweep away the day’s impurities such as environmental pollution, germs, chemicals, and bacteria by washing your face once you are home and begin to settle in for the night.  Many people fail to do this because they fall asleep and don’t feel like doing it.   I advise my patients to wash their face as soon as they come home for the night, this way you’re actually doing something good for your skin and your additional products have chance to work their magic instead of soaking into your pillowcase because you put them on 5 minutes before going to bed.

7. For someone who is not diligent about skincare and needs  no fuss regimen, how would you guide them?

Cleanse, vitamin infused serum and/or exfoliate, and hydrate.

Absolutely!

10. How is your line different from the countless others out there?

In many ways, we are different! Avery Graham’s products were developed from making my custom mixtures for patients. I’ve been successfully serving my  patients’ needs for 25 years by concocting my own clinical treatments, custom compounds, and layered formulations with pharmaceutical ingredients.
I’ve taken what I’ve developed in my clinical practice and combined it with phyto nutrients, vitamins and minerals to create this luxurious skincare line without parabens and formaldahaydes. What you end up with is the perfect synergy of wellness, science and nature. As my mentor once said, “poison ivy is natural, but you wouldn’t rub it all over yourself.” It’s important to remember that creating balance, as in life, is essential in skincare. And this is why I would say, “Come Discover The Avery Graham Difference!”

And this is like a milkshake for your skin, delicious and so nutritious 🙂 VERY hydrating

Life changes, and I do know that childhood doesn’t last forever and there is plenty of happiness to be found and shared when our young kids begin the metamorphosis into young adults but it is not without some sadness (and a few tears)? and nostalgia that this happens particularly for someone who enjoyed the journey of motherhood as much as I did:) But yes, there are I am quite sure,? lots of happy times ahead and I cannot wait…bring it on:)

Moving along…..today lets talk hair! My hair has changed over the years and as summer turns to fall it changes yet again. But for the first time in my life, I have found a battalion of hair products that I can say I? am madly in love with and simply cannot live without. So much so that I need to share them with you! And of course part of the fun with these “Can we talk” posts is hearing what you have to say on the matter, so do not hold back…tell us all about your favorite hair products,? any tips or insider secrets to great hair. Lets get started……..

Left to right top row…

1. KMS flatout, great anti humidity spray that does not leave your hair heavy at all, once this goes on its ready for battle even on the most humid summer nights!

2. This product, the Kerastase mask,? first off smells sooo good, every time I use it I want to take a bite:) It is a very rich super nourishing leave on mask (I try to leave it on for a good 15 minutes), it leaves my hair super soft and smelling amazing, I use it about 1-2 times a month

3. Unite 7 seconds, one of the best products ever! I love this stuff, its a detangler and makes combing/brushing through my hair a breeze. I swear there some kind of magic potion in there, with amazing powers. I no longer dread having to comb through my wet hair after a shower, also fantastic for the beach.

4. Neutrogena triple moisture is my “every day” conditioner, I use it about every 2-3 days, a little goes a long way. I use about a dollop about the size of a half dollar? and work it into my hair. It is consistently rated as one of the best hair bargains out there and is under $10.00!

5. LOVE this shampoo, Clear scalp and hair therapy. It is literally the best one I have used period, on both on the high and low end. It smells great, works into a salon-esque lather and leaves my hair squeaky clean. I am a fan for life and this is now the only shampoo I buy.

6. This little brush saved my life 🙂 The original wet brush is simply A M A Z I N G! OK, I am being a bit dramatic, but seriously I have ridiculously super sensitive scalp, I still cry when my hair is brushed too hard. This brush actually makes me want to brush my hair. I don’t know if the bristles are magic or what..but this brush rocks! I have three to be sure I always have one on hand, used for wet and dry hair…its AMAZING!!!! Click here to buy it and be taken to their website.

The Clear shampoo and Neutrogena conditioner/mask can be purchased at any pharmacy. I get the Unite 7, Kerastase? and KMS on Amazon.

Can we talk? Beauty products- high and low!

Happy Thursday to you! Hope you are having a great week so far, the weather here has been incredible! I was in Greenwich yesterday and it was amazing to be outside enjoying the gorgeous weather (and town). Thank you sooo much for your incredible input for the pillow quandary yesterday. I have managed to narrow it down to 6 I like (hey that’s progress) so think I am going to order a number of them and “play”. There are other areas I will be able to use the pillows I don’t use for the loggia and they are all (except a few) so reasonable so it’s a no lose situation. Many thanks for weighing in.? Click here if you missed the post and need a serious dose of blue and white! Moving off topic now…….

OK today is a subject I think we can all offer our 2 cents on. Makeup and beauty products. We all have them, some of us just a wee bit and others have drawers full! I have learned over the years both through trial and error, and advice from those “in the know” that there really are some fabulous makeup and beauty products out there that come right from none other than your local drugstore. Then there is the Sephora variety (my fave), it truly is a candy store for ladies……it would be sooooo easy to stay in there for hours, trying away! So much to choose from, so much to spend your money on!

I for one, am a “tryer” and your classic impulse buyer, I see something I want and I buy it. Period. Most of the time I like what I buy but on occasion certain things let me down. I feel less guilty when buying something for 5 or 10 dollars from the drugstore, if the lipstick isn’t the right color….no sweat. But I am also very loyal, I have used MAC lipstick for about 8 years and have not swayed, what I like I continue to use and stay loyal to. Do you?

So over the years I have found some products that are definitely keepers in my makeup arsenal, things I buy over and over because they are just so good. Then there are those unexpected inexpensive discoveries that are equally exciting! We all know the thrill of a deal! Thought this could make a fun post…the highs and lows of beauty products and makeup.? Here are some of mine as well as the low down on why I love them…hope you will share yours!

1st row left to right….

1. Low- Milani eye pencils, come in a variety of colors, they go on smoothly,? last and best part….. are about 5.00!

2.High-Nars highlight stick…have been buying this product for years, awesome over cheekbones, lips, browbone and on occasion even on your shoulders. I buy it in South Beach and Copacabana. A great multi use stick….it lasts!

3.High- Unite 7 seconds leave in conditioner. Best hair product (leave in) that I have ever used. I have thick hair that tangles easily, this makes combing through a total breeze, there is definitely a “miracle” ingredient, will buy this over and over! It’s about 35.00 but last about 3 months.

4. Low- I have used a lot of heavy conditioners, and this one is my fave. From Neutrogena about 8.00, far better than Moroccan Oil at quadruple the price! Some hair expert was on Good Morning America one morning and was going on and on about this, well he’s right! A little goes a long way, leaves my hair feeling nourished and silky. Have used it for years.

Second row-

5. High- Stila illuminating foundation. Again a little oes a long way, I use it only on certain areas of my face, it has a slight illuminator which? makes my skin look like it’s glowing. I love this product and have used it a long time and will continue to be a devoted fan. Not heavy…..

6. Low- Milani lipliners- I have bought these for years. Love this lipliner!! Its only about 6.00 and is probably the best one I have used. I buy them in 2’s and 3’s. Awesome! Great colors too……

7. Low-Maybelline turbo mascara. I have used expensive ones (used to use Diorshow for years) but this one is as good and for only about 8.00 a tube, its a bargain. Goes on easily and allows to layer without clumping.

8. Low- Clear Scalp shampoo. This is funny….my local CVS had a promotion that if you spent over $50.00 you got this shampoo. I had never heard of it but am never one to turn down a freebie! Well…..I used it and loved it, it lathers up like salon shampoos, smells great and with each shampoo I realized how great it was. I have not been loyally using this shampoo for about 3 months ever since I discovered it. It is excellent and I highly recommend it!

Last row-

9.Low- Essie nail polish, forget the crayon box of colors on steroids (every color under the sun), this is great quality nail polish for under 10.00. There is a reason virtually all nail salons use it!

10. Low- L’Oreal’s? Glam bronze.? I use this and Geurlain’s bronzer (which I have used for years) however I think Guerlain has switched the formula, its much softer and it is cracking well before I have used it and then I have to throw away a $45.00 bronzer! That does not make me happy. I? had read in In Style about L’Oreal’s? and have since used it and been quite happy!

11. High- Bobbi Brown eyeshadow. Great quality stuff here, the color goes on with one swipe and it lasts. Does not flake and stays put. I have even dropped it and it didn’t crack. That is saying something. Not cheap but totally worth every penny. I have had these compacts for a long time and they are still going strong!

OK so that is some of what I have used and absolutely love! It’s your turn…time to tell me your favorite high and lows!! I cannot wait to hear……wishing you a fabulous day and thank you as always for stopping in!

Late week musings and a giveaway!

Grab another cup of coffee…this is one of those long posts that is somewhat all over the place!!

Hi there and happy Friday..boy this week has flown. Woke up to another 5+ inches of snow with this latest system and its still coming down. School is closed and this is getting old. Very old.? I have tried to make it a productive week and have gotten some things on my very very long list of to do’s checked off. Here is what I woke up to…..(took with my iPhone)

Despite the snow, I do feel excited knowing spring is on our doorstep, though to look outside, it is hard to imagine! I generally love the notion of spring cleaning, getting organized, really making a concerted effort to make a practical list of to do’s and getting them done. Winter, I consider hibernation period (after the holidays that is). I cannot believe my online stores one year anniversary is on Sunday!! I am offering a giveaway today and another one on the actual one year anniversary on Sunday. All details on the bottom. Hope you have had a good week….so here’s whats new here this week…….

A new blog I am just obsessed with. I think the pictures say it all. To me they represent heaven….this couple lives in the French countryside and seem to spend their time making the most beautiful meals, visiting local specialty markets, picking form their garden, playing with their kids and pups…sounds like a dream life! Baked chicken never looked so elegant…he is a photographer so every single picture is award winning. This blog makes me feel like I away in the country with them…just marvelous in every way!! Did I mention that every family member also looks like a model? Here’s a quote that is commonplace on her blog…sends my senses in overdrive!

?

?”Since I have been living in M?doc, it has become a habit of mine to cycle around. I enjoy buying my daily baguette and groceries, taking the scenic route through the forest. It is so rewarding to look at all the peaceful surroundings, saying bonjour to the local sheep, donkeys, horses and cows. It is often during these bicycle trips that I get inspired for a dish. Last Friday, I came back home with a big pack of sausages from my local charcuterie.”

Spring. I am soooooo longing for spring. More this year than ever before. Maybe because another snow storm has descended upon us. It feels like forever away. But in the meantime I am dreaming of beautiful clothes, light springy colors, soft fabrics….ahh I can feel it already. Here are some spring lovlies that I have my eye on…..loving this cutout/lace trend that I am seeing a lot of, and you?

Big fan of Delman shoes, own lots of their flats..these are just darling!

Adorable in pink too….

And really like this tote from Antropologie…..such a great neutral……

?

Do these? have my name all over them or what? If I didn’t have such a aversion to wearing heels (except when I m must) I would indulge.? Both styles from LK Bennet of London! Love them!!

?

A new book. You know I love my books. I believe you can never ever have too many great design books and one which I preordered I know is going to be fabulous if her first book is any indication. I love Cindy Rinfrets style, her shop and design aesthetic. Her new book cover was calling me.? And finally, just finished Rules of Civility and I? have to say I really really enjoyed it. Enough to talk about it and recommend it! Click here to order Cindy’s new book on Amazon.

Do you like products? I do and love discovering something new, even better when its new and awesome. I was at a store the other day and struck up a conversation with a fellow shopper who really looked like she knew her stuff and as it turns out she is a freelance makeup artist who has done a lot of work on some pretty major movie sets! If I wasn’t hurried for time I would have stood there trying to get the lowdown on some of my favorite stars:) But one thing she did tell me about is a great line of makeup that apparently many “pros” and those in the know use…so you just know I came home and googled it and actually took the plunge and ordered some of the products. In case you are like me and a serial product junkie..heres the scoop! Judith August is known as the queen of covering up everything from everyday blemishes to rosacea. Click here to visit her site.

?Any product called killer cover is a product I want to know about!

Also went trim/fabric shopping, I am such a kid in candy shop when I go textile shopping. Two of my favorite stops are Clarence House and Samuel and Son. The trims are sooo scrumptious! I am unstoppable when it comes to selecting beautiful trims…….its better than choosing hand dipped chocolates at a candy shop. Well, on second thought, almost as good:) Look how gorgeous these were at Clarence House……

?

?I am sure you can see why I was practically hallucinating!! Everything was sooo stunning!

?

And here is what I came home with for my “living room table project”…….

?

?Here is one of current projects (the table) and this? is what I am going for….

?
