KITCHEN LOVE contest is on, round 2!!

Yes my blog has gone crazy today, in case you are wondering why it looks like it does..don’t ask. YOU HAVE NO IDEA. I promise I am working fast and furious behind the scenes to “make this right” and assure you this was not part of the plan, its been C R A Z Y! Just happy the post is back up and my contest is working so please pardon the disarray of my blog and be assured it will soon be a pretty place again!

Hi there, thank you so much for your participation from round one (around a whopping 1200 votes)!!! Are  you ready for even more beautiful kitchens? Think you can handle it? Here we go with round two……the beauty just continues. I got in such  a wonderful assortment, from a tiny but super charming kitchen in a 500 foot cottage, to someones brand new dream kitchen that  they waited 10 years to build to a wonderful 100 year old kitchen area of a family’s Maine cottage to a beautiful kitchen in France….what fun to see them all! From cozy and small to grand and elegant, there is something for everyone!

Many here are magazine worthy, a testament to the taste level of my readers, I had an absolute blast getting to peek into all of your homes….so thank you! Just gorgeous, a favorite from this batch will be crowned and then we will have a final showdown of the two top picks (one from each round). Ready to take it all in?

Remember- everyone was allowed to submit two pictures, some submitted almost the identical picture which is fine so dont’ think you are seeing double. Some of my readers have also had published kitchens so if one or two look familiar you might know why:) A few had their homes professionally photographed, that is fine too as long as it’s their kitchen. Do not panic if you do do not see your kitchen here, the other post has the rest (they were added in the order they were submitted).  Just want to set the record straight…..enjoy all the beauty!

Now its the hard part!  Time to vote for your three top faves…….

KITCHEN LOVE round 1 is on!!

Many of you have asked where my extensive blogroll has gone…I was hoping you could tell me! Seriously, I am making some changes to my blog (soon to be revealed)  and hoping that loss is temporary……otherwise will be re adding them, one by one, seems to be a common theme this week:)

Hello and happy Sunday, I am so happy to present my KITCHEN LOVE contest!! Not without some major hiccups however, somehow blogger (after collecting pictures for the last almost 3 weeks) lost my entire post!!!!! I was freaking out, as it meant having to start all over again, talk about time consuming, to go back to each and every email…..arrrgggghhhh!!! It was worth it though and having everyone put Kitchen Love in the subject line was a huge help. So I am back in business! I have divided this into two rounds with nearly 140 pictures it was too  much for one. One winner will be crowned from each round then we we will have one final showdown between the two.

Many here are magazine worthy, a testament to the taste level of my readers, I had an absolute blast getting to peek into all of your homes….so thank you for allowing us in! Just gorgeous  and certainly proof that the kitchen really is the heart of the home. I can imagine the meals, get togethers, conversations and memories that have all been made in these wonderful kitchens! If by chance you are in the market for a new kitchen or a kitchen remodel, this is the absolute best idea source I can imagine:)

Wow, so many to love…I love how there is truly a little bit of everything, from tiny and oozing with charm to very grand and overflowing with elegance, I think this post exemplifies that the kitchen is where “it all goes down”!

So, now it’s your turn to vote for your top 3! This poll will close on Monday night (2 full days of voting). Round 2 will start on Tues and run until Wed. night. at which time the two top kitchens (one from each round) will go into a faceoff on Thursday, a winner will be crowned on Friday morning, Valentines Day!

Many thanks for all who sent in their wonderful pictures and to all the readers who are stopping by to participate in the voting….loves these contests!! Wishing everyone a wonderful and relaxing Sunday, you guessed it,  more snow is on the way (but a lot less than what was originally predicted) so I am not going to complain…until tomorrow!

A few recent house updates…..

Hi there and happy Tuesday evening….taking a much needed coffee break, just came in from being out.? We are in a deep freeze. It is almost too cold to go out. It takes every ounce of energy and perseverance for me to venture outside….yes, it’s that cold. Hoping for an early thaw….please!!

I realize I haven’t done any updates on my home in quite a while. But don’t let the quiet fool you:) I have been quite busy behind the scenes. The single most exciting thing of all is my bedroom. I am beyond excited over how its coming out. I want to give the full reveal when it is totally done but did include a few “sneak peeks”. Also small things here and there going, on and thought it warranted a small house updates post.

Other big news (I say it tongue in check) is that I joined Instagram! Woo hoo. Alert the presses. Now my friends can finally stop? making fun of me. True, I am still rather clueless as to how it all works or what the point even is but I am trying hard to think outside the box in 2014 and vowed to try a bunch of new things this year. So if you have any remote desire whatsoever to see whats on my Instagram, you can find me under you guessed it…..theenchantedhome (all one word) . I am not going to promise that it’s going to be that exciting as I have NO idea what I am doing, but I do promise to do my best:) I am staring sloooooow so bear with me please.

These were all taken with my iPhone so pardon the quality on a few…..camera was out of commission

So come on in……..

A few snippets of my bedroom. It is shaping up and shaping up fast but I want to wait until every last little item is in place. So far however my vision of what? a bedroom should be has come to life. I absolutely love it….

Loving my new slipper chairs….and remember this fabric? Well turns out it was the perfect choice!

I am not done with this arrangement but it’s getting there!
And of course my most favorite lamps in the world!!
And the trim I hemmed and hawed over….well it finally got here!

FINALLY getting this small powder room off of the library done! I got the floors finished, the toilet is in, this is an old chest we are using for the vanity, just waiting for the new countertop. I found these wonderful sconces and brackets at a local consignment shop and using this wallpaper that I have had set aside since before we even moved in! I still love it so its been ordered!!

?Love the floor! It’s a mess though, don’t ask what a painting is doing in the floor there, it’s become a bit of a storage closet:)

?The chest that will be the vanity, its not my all time fave but we own it so we are using it. Just waiting on the countertop (matches the floor)

?Do love these black tole chinoiserie sconces I found and will be using in here……
?The gorgeous wallpaper, still love it after all these years! Put your hands over that green countertop and you will get the idea:)

?I think the floor is really pretty…its honey onyx, that I had cut into 2 x12’s and did as a chevron/herringbone pattern

I was tired of seeing the red poinsettias tress on my island. It was perfect for Christmas and at the rate I was going, I guess I could have left them up for Valentines Day since they are red:) But I wanted to feel some spring so added my pink cherry blossoms to these new blue and whites and I must say I love it. It feels so wonderful walking into my kitchen and totally belies the fact that there is ice crusted snow everywhere outside…oh well once can dream:)

And speaking of the kitchen, I love the way the bright yellows of lemons and green of limes looks in blue and white…its uplifting given the dark gloomy days of winter we are having!

And since we are in my kitchen, how gorgeous is this copper pot my sister gave me for my birthday? She does know me well……

Bought this beautiful pair of black tole lanterns to put in two small hallway vestibules upstairs. I like the simplicity and shape.

And added this belljar to a small vestibule between my bedroom and closet. You? know I looooove my belljars:)

I have been finding the prettiest antique decanters lately. Look at these, they are antique Baccarat with the sterling liquor? name plates…gorgeous!

We have been starting to look at flooring for our basement. I am amazed at what they are doing with tiles! We want a maintenance free tile that looks like wood. I am leaning towards those ashy colored light to med. woods..they are so soothing and pretty. Amazing!

?It is so hard to believe these are porcelain tiles and not wood!

Now that the holidays are over, I am going back to the drawing board on a number of projects, with the bedroom and my dining room being two of the most important. Still tweaking but getting closer every day to the final background color of the gorgeous chinoiserie which I know will transform the space…..

And have had these really large chunky white ginger jars for a while (was going to carry them) but they are so darn big and heavy. So instead of sitting in storage I took them out and put them on the pale green French console in the upstairs hallway and I love the way they look, so fresh and crisp! I am going to add something to the center, just not sure what. I will probably refer back to my post from yesterday on accentuating with accessories!

Put in this gorgeous new lantern finally in our back stair hall…really pretty piece!

I think I have finally figured out the secret to keeping orchids alive well and super long lasting. Cool, cool cool rooms. This one is in one of the coolest areas of our house and this thing looks as beautiful as it did the day I got it over two months ago….still going strong! Very little water also (maybe once every 10 days)

Yes my Christmas tree FINALLY got taken down 3 days ago, my big soldiers are next in line:)

Another one still going strong that I now moved to a cooler spot

Just starting to get my orders in for the Annabell Ingall totes so if you are one of the ones waiting…..things are starting to ship out this week. Every time I see a new color/variation, I want one (it’s a bit of a problem).? I mean how many bags does a girl need? Nevermind, you don’t have to answer that:)? They are all so gorgeous….

?Sky and Cherry totes (med and large)

???????????????????????????????????? This is a great neutral, new color String in the new style, Coco

A few important things……

Hello and Happy Sunday to you. Over here, its another freeeeeezing day. This is the kind of biting cold that honestly makes you want to stay inside in your pjs, hop into your bed and not leave until March. It is bitter, gray and incredibly uninviting. Good day for the movies…we may head out to one later on. Seen anything good lately? We saw Twelve Years a slave and I must say it was excellent. I find less time to comment than I used to but I still do my best to leave a comment (when inspired) at all my “usual stops”. Looks like most of you think blogging is changing in part due to Pinterest and other sites, don’t know if that’s good or bad yet?

The good news for newer bloggers is that the majority of us will seek out new blogs and are always looking for the next best thing…that could be YOU!? And interesting that the majority of us look over other peoples comments, I do on occasion but not regularly. This was fun and enlightening.? Many thanks again for participating!!

Now lets turn off our brains and just enjoy some pretty inspirations, shall we?

?Anytime you end with pictures of darling children its always sure to put a smile on my face! Hope you enjoyed this random inspiration….if you want to see more of my Pinterest boards click here.

Many thanks as always for stopping in, and to all my fellow bloggers who took the time to participate in the poll. Always a good thing to continue learning and growing. Wishing everyone a fabulous and hopefully relaxing Sunday!

I find less time to comment than I used to but I still do my best to leave a comment (when inspired) at all my “usual stops”. Looks like most of you think blogging is changing in part due to Pinterest and other sites, don’t know if that’s good or bad yet?

The good news for newer bloggers is that the majority of us will seek out new blogs and are always looking for the next best thing…that could be YOU!  And interesting that the majority of us look over other peoples comments, I do on occasion but not regularly. This was fun and enlightening.  Many thanks again for participating!!

Now lets turn off our brains and just enjoy some pretty inspirations, shall we?

Anytime you end with pictures of darling children its always sure to put a smile on my face!

All of the “buildup” of the last month has come to fruition. And now its time to sit back, savor, cherish and enjoy! But before I do I want to announce the lucky winner of the absolutely gorgeous Safavieh bench! Congrats goes to……

Hooray for the holidays contest is on!

Hi there! I am so excited to be holding another contest…this one is entitled “Hooray for the holidays” and over the last two weeks you have been so kind to send in and share with me your interpretation of what the holidays are all about. I had said there were no rules……..whether it be your little trick or treaters or your Thanksgiving turkey, a favorite vignette in your home, your home getting prepped for Christmas, a baked with love goodie, your beloved pet showing his holiday spirit and spunk or just the foliage around your neck of the woods…..whatever the holidays means to you is what I asked you to send over. And you did not disappoint!

I so enjoyed going through all your beautiful pictures and thank you for sending them in and being part of the fun!Now that I have a trustworthy poll…thanks Polldaddy, I will keep this post up  for the next two days and allow you to vote. You are able to vote for up to 4 pictures per day as I realize its nearly impossible to choose just one.

I hope you enjoy going through all of these incredible images as much as I enjoyed putting this together. One thing is to be sure, if this doesn’t get you in the mood for the holidays, don’t know what will! I realize it’s a lot to go through and you may want to have a pen and paper nearby to jot down your faves, just bear in mind the theme “Hooray for the holidays” and decide which picture(s) best exemplify that.  Enjoy…….

Because I got so many amazing pictures, I decided to offer a first and second place prize. The first place winner will receive a Vagabond House squirrel and nut bowl  and the second place winner will a silver or ant. gold guest towel holder.

Enjoy……..
