Monogram anything!

I too so enjoyed the Victoria Magazine “monogram “
Something so regal about monograming, even when you have them displayed is a rustic cottage home. They are timeless.

If you want to get your copy of this limited edition MUST HAVE magazine (a must if you are a monogram lover) click here to order your copy.

As I always do, this is a random post with a little bit of everything. Ready to get started? Here we go…..

Home front. I have ordered a bunch of pillows for the back patio. I am excited to put it all together. In the meantime took the pillows form the loggia to “play” and though the size is a little small, I ordered 22″ pillows vs. 20″ I do love the way the navy looks. I decided to keep the back patio clean and crisp, so am going with solid navy pillows in a monogram along with some trellis pillows and a few squares. I do love the Chiang Mai but decided for now at least to keep it on the loggia and do this a bit differently, all the while tying in the navy. I threw in a few other pictures of random things around here too….

?The white is a bit too “white” but these are not for this grouping, I was just playing, I do love the solid navy and trellis patterns…..

?The pool area, its separate from the house (original site and original pool house). We do have plans to redo it at some point but cannot say its a priority. With older kids who basically never use it, it just doesn’t see a lot of use but I must say when? I do go down there, it is so relaxing and serene and “removed”…..need to visit more often!

?The landscaping is coming in nicely..the hedges and grass finally looking almost done! The flowers and trees took a real beating however with the heat, so I am not showing you those:)

?A few readers asked to see the back stairs and the limed oak finish…so here it is!

Yes that is Teddy, that is HIS spot…just so he doesn’t miss a thing!

And look what came in this last week….my bar stools! I was so excited, I am glad I decided to keep them simple in a pretty linen/cotton ivory fabric with ant. brass nailheads, I may have some small lumbar pillows made for them out of the pretty curtain fabric. I was thinking they would have been taller but they still look great and are super duper comfy!?

I really like the way blue and white porcelain looks next to browns, it really makes it pop

Added an orchid and urn to this vignette, and really like the way it looks……

A gorgeous sunset. One of summers simplest pleasures.? Sat. night we went out to dinner to a beautiful waterfront restaurant and had the most beautiful weather, and sunset which warranted whipping out my iPhone (of course)! It looks more like the view you? might see while on a Caribbean island as palm trees around these parts are most unusual!

The restaurant itself, called Ocean.

Pillows! And speaking of great pillows, I must give a “shout out” (kids are cringing if they read this) to Michele of Calico Daisy, my new pillow “go to” person. If you love monograms and monograms done really well, her work is flawless. She is amazing and her prices are quite fair especially given what some charge for appliqued monogrammed pillows, a pretty penny!? I love the way an entire bed can be transformed with even the addition of one or two monogrammed pillows and some of these would make amazing gifts too.? Here’s a look at some of what Michele offers…..click here to visit her.

A few great posts worth sharing. I like to save/bookmark posts that I really enjoyed and want to be able to go back to. A few worth sharing are below……

Excellent post on a recent trip to the renowned Blackberry Farm…. a beautiful post! Click here to visit

For anyone who has dreamt of taking a can of spray paint to an outdated piece of furniture (but like hasn’t had the guts or needs some encouragement, myself included) this wonderful post is for you……

A great robe.? I am a believer that we should all be able to go about life in our pjs and robe (as long as they are pretty)! I mean think about, we would all be soooo much? more comfy, no miserable woman trying to act happy while they are absolutely miserable in shoes that kill and pinch their toes, no men stuck in heavy warm suits and cumbersome ties…we would all be so much happier!

?But seeing that that particular trend is not likely to catch on anytime soon, I do enjoy slipping into my pjs and robes pretty much the minute i get home and know I am home for the day. So when I see a great robe, I buy it, because I loooove my pjs and robes. Thought this was from Malarbay Bay was great looking! So chic and available in navy and green….love it! Click here to visit them.

A scrumptious recipe. I know this is cruel. Believe me its torturous to me too, I feel like I am gaining 5 lbs just looking at this picture!? But this looks sooooo amazingly good. I just need to try it. I am an apple crisp girl (ala mode of course) all the way but think I could make an exception for this beautiful baked pear with none other than caramel sauce! Hello…..come to mama. Click here to be taken to Brooklyn Ragazza for the lowdown on how to make it. It is as beautiful as I am sure it is delicious…doubt mine will come out nearly this pretty but I bet it will taste divine, what a perfect dessert for a fall dinner! Come fall, this is going to be baking my kitchen.

A great new movie. Yes, he is “different”,? but I must say I really enjoy Woody’s movies. In fact some of his movies are some of all time favorites. This one promises to be a good one. Definitely on my list to see sooner than later…Blue Jasmine at the very least looks super entertaining and I love Cate and Alec!

Want to see my new virtual dream beach house? Come on inside…..

This simply could not wait another hour……I interrupt my normal blog posts to bring you my dream beach house. Virtually I have been? looking for my “dream beach house” and I have at long last found it.? We are a match made in heaven if there ever was one. It has everything I want from being ocean front to having a pool and tennis court, a tennis pavillion…sure why not! Gorgeous interiors, even a touch of blue and white, ocean views for miles…it is absolutely a match made in heaven!!? First time in nearly 40 years this treasure is being offered up for sale…a Hamptons gem to be sure, and its located on swanky Gin Lane to boot!

I nearly fainted when I saw it, it is soooooo goregous. Granted this is hardly your typical “beach shack”, not a weathered gable for miles, no rustic driftwood, no siree…but this is a house that is just a “knock your socks off” kind of house. Oh the parties I could have! Ready to see my virtual new beach house (hey one can dream, best part it’s free)! Here we go, as you scroll, be sure to visualize the sound and image of crashing waves and seagulls flying about…….

What a compound! It has everything and then to be on the sparkling Atlantic…..perfection!

?Love this room….

?Beautiful dining room, love the chandy and sconces!
?I love the feeling of the kitchen and wouldn’t change a thing!

?Stunning bedroom suite….love the soft colors
?See the blue and white? Its calling me!

?This is such a cozy spot….I would hold my afternoon Scrabble and Monopoly game sessions in here….

?This is a view I could certainly get used to waking up to!
Champagne please………
?Another gorgeous elegant room…..

?I will have my coffee and croissants here ever morning, thank you.

?Lovely for afternoon cocktails…….

?This is totally meant to be….this room has my name all over it.
?There it is again…that blue and white beckoning!
?Wow…now that is what I call a tennis pavillion!
?Lovely……
?I just love the feeling of this bath…its old fashioned but so elegant

?Great playroom…..love the neutral tonal look

Well……..what do you think? Amazing or what!! It’s rare for me to see a house where I would virtually change nothing. OK if I am being picky I might swap out the striped cushions on the outdoor furniture for ivory solids and add my blue and white pillows 🙂 But that is it! Now if you just happen to be in the? market for a $45 million dollar beach house in tony Southampton, click here to notify the broker immediately that you want the contracts mailed? pronto but please I ask one favor, instead of paying me my finders fee….just let me have an unlimted “free pass” as a guest to visit anytime I please. Deal?? Hope you enjoyed…..

Back to reality, don’t forget to visit my Mad for monograms post and be sure to leave a comment so you are eligible for the giveaway! Today is the last day, I will announce a winner of the lovely autographed Monogram issues by Victoria. Its a keeper! Wishing you a wonderful Sunday and relaxing end to your week. Early week musings…..

Hi there. First off…I am TOTALLY overwhelmed by the literal outpouring of information, advice, tips, recommendations, must see’s and do’s, and invitations on my Southern road trip post. You guys are the best, and exemplify to the hilt what southern hospitality is all about!

Seriously from the comments (and many emails I got) I think I could publish my own “Southern road trip travel book- enchanted style”! I cannot thank you enough. The only downside is my head is spinning as there is soooo much I want to see and do and time will not allow for all of it. We took the hot humid weather into consideration, so if you see a woman in a large straw hat with a mini portable spray bottle/fan running around taking all the Southern prettiness in,? you can point at me and say “I know you” 🙂

Believe me I will have an arsenal of “tools”? to keep me as cool as possible or at least comfortable as can be expected but given our own 100 degree heatwave for the last 7 days, this little lady is ready to do battle (but do hope the AC is blasting everywhere we go)!? Even the Southern heat will not deter our trip…….some have asked why August? Simply because once the school year begins, it’s much harder to carve out the time , a lot more going on so we have this wonderful little window and are taking full advantage.

Anyway just wanted to say thanks a million,? thanks to you I have more than enough restaurants, cultural stops and highlights, shopping and hotel recommendations to sort through, no need to buy any guide books!! And of course if you missed that post, you must take a look by clicking here.

Moving along..today’s post is a totally random post as they are every week. Ready to get started?

A new stationary line. Oh no, this could be dangerous. You know my love for beautiful fine stationary and then throw in gorgeous monograms, and its positively lethal! Alexa Pulitzer’s? line is sooooo exquisite. Check it out and click here if you want to visit click here to visit Alexa Pulitzer. This soooo makes me want to plan a party, wedding, birthday fete for myself….something!

A good rose wine. No time is as perfect for indulging in a chilled glass of rose as summer time. Its the ideal time of year to enjoy this light and mighty pretty wine. A few people had asked me for my personal choices and though I am far from being a oenophile, I do? know what I like!? A few I really love are…..

On the higher end….(Domaine Ott)

?On the lower end of the price spectrum……. (Cupcake Rose)

And you just know I love this label:)

Both are light, fresh and crisp. Perfect to have on hand for when you have guests over or just for yourself…cheers!

Speaking of monograms. Found a wonderful source for monogrammed pillows over at my new hangout, Etsy. I ordered one to be sure it works and that I like it. Calico Daisy is the name of my resource and surely one I will back to again and again..she was wonderful!? And boy does it ever work and I don’t like it …….I love it! I am so excited to order a batch now and have since made some decisions for the back patio. Going to keep it simple, with solid navy and doing the Imperial Trellis in navy pillows….if I feel the need for more pattern, I can always add, but think this clean tonal look will look fantastic with the furniture. Can’t wait for it be completed!!

?I have created my own little blue and white oasis….and cannot tell you how much I enjoy hanging out here!!

The Imperial Trellis in navy

My home. Not a whole heck of a lot going on in all honesty, but little things here and there. I do hope to step it up come fall (in preparation for the holidays as scary as that sounds)! One of my favorite items for my online shop is the statuary and planters line. I love the big pieces but really love the smaller planters because they make wonderful containers for inside, especially for my orchids. Two of my favorites are below. I found a great local resource for orchids (actually in the Hamptons but a great excuse to head out that way for an orchid fix) and had fun planting them into my containers. All containers shown are available on my online shop, you can visit by clicking here. There are a ton of other sizes/styles available so be sure to inquire if you are looking for something specific.

This urn style is a total classic, looks as beautiful filled with an orchid as it does a fern or hydrangeas

?This is the most popular finish, white moss and looks just like old statuary, no one can believe its fiberglass!

?The other egg and dart style, a little wider…perfect piece for? a large orchid plant!

?As you can see I am a big fan of this line….given all the pretty planters by my own front door:)

?Brought it inside, and absolutely love it in this vignette…so soft and elegant!
?Adore my little white Staffordshire doggies….wish they weren’t discontinued!

Shop news.

?I have the good fortune of coming across steals and deals on occasion. I have built a good base of resources and have a decent amount of buying power and as a? result am starting something new as an offshoot of my online shop. Every week or two I will be offering “enchanted steals”. These will be limited opportunities to purchase decorative items at substantially discounted prices. They will be limited in quantity, will not make it to the online shop (due to limited quantities) and will be offered through my blog only (and possibly on The Enchanted Home’s Facebook page).

In addition I will have a small “ad” on the right of my blog which will say something to the effect of “Enchanted steal of the week”. I can assure you that the prices will be rock bottom. So…..here are whats up for this week! I have about 6-8 of each item. I am always scouring the market for affordable pretty containers, I like them both for my own home and to keep on hand for gifts, even when you buy an inexpensive plant, it looks so much more elegant when put into a pretty container, so I always have them on hand.

So this weeks “Enchanted steals” are a few containers, prices and sizes below each item.

Item 1. $40.00 for three. Beautiful white glazed trio of garland pots. These are stunning and measure-

8.75Dx7.5H;
6.75Dx5.5H;
5.25Dx4.25H

?Adore this trio of white ceramic pots….everyone can use something like this, I like the idea of using it for towels, guest soaps too!

Item 2. $20.00.? Lovely painted/glazed white ceramic pot. Perfect for flowers and to use in a bathroom or Kitchen too! Measures 7Lx5.5Wx7H.

?Using one myself to hold my utensils…so much prettier than the conventional ones!

?Love it for an orchid too……

Item 3. $22.00. This is a beautiful stone pot. Highly versatile, perfect for flowers and/or guest soaps. Measures 12Lx7.5Wx6.5H.

?Love the idea of filling it with soaps!

?Equally pretty for some lovely orchids!

And look what came back in stock these gorgeous tole lamps that had sold out! They will soon be added to my online shop but they are available now and for sale…just email me if interested!

You know the drill….if interested in any of the above, just email me and I will invoice you and these pretty little goodies will be on their way. Be sure to stay tuned for more great deals and steals on a regular basis……always on the prowl for something good and it’s even sweeter when its a deal, right?

Thanks as always for stopping in….wishing you a fabulous day and start to your week!

Speaking of monograms. Found a wonderful source for monogrammed pillows over at my new hangout, Etsy. I ordered one to be sure it works and that I like it. Calico Daisy is the name of my resource and surely one I will back to again and again..she was wonderful!

I have created my own little blue and white oasis….and cannot tell you how much I enjoy hanging out here!!

This is the most popular finish, white moss and looks just like old statuary, no one can believe its fiberglass!

The other egg and dart style, a little wider…perfect piece for  a large orchid plant!

As you can see I am a big fan of this line….given all the pretty planters by my own front door:)

Brought it inside, and absolutely love it in this vignette…so soft and elegant!
Adore my little white Staffordshire doggies….wish they weren’t discontinued!

Shop news.

I have the good fortune of coming across steals and deals on occasion. I have built a good base of resources and have a decent amount of buying power and as a  result am starting something new as an offshoot of my online shop.

8.75Dx7.5H;
6.75Dx5.5H;
5.25Dx4.25H

Adore this trio of white ceramic pots….everyone can use something like this, I like the idea of using it for towels, guest soaps too!

Item 2. $20.00.  Lovely painted/glazed white ceramic pot. Perfect for flowers and to use in a bathroom or Kitchen too! Measures 7Lx5.5Wx7H.

Using one myself to hold my utensils…so much prettier than the conventional ones!

Love it for an orchid too……

Item 3. $22.00. This is a beautiful stone pot. Highly versatile, perfect for flowers and/or guest soaps. Measures 12Lx7.5Wx6.5H.

Love the idea of filling it with soaps!

Equally pretty for some lovely orchids!

My patio, flowers, BBQ’s and The Hamptons!

Hello and happy Tuesday night to you……this post is a bit of this and a bit of that, all about my favorite things- flowers, cooking, decorating, the great outdoors and The Hamptons!

Got my patio furniture for the back patio..was so excited! It is beautiful, very comfortable and beautifully made. Now I have to get busy deciding on pillows (again) and various accessories, and will naturally add my trademark blue and white to the mix!

Have been out to the Hamptons and the North Fork quite a bit lately and am sharing some of those highlights too. Had a casual BBQ on Sunday and love nothing more than visiting a local farm stand and picking up fresh vegetables and fruits……I get so inspired. Also visited a sunflower farm and found the most sensational sunflowers. They are enormous  and are well over 2 feet tall….talk about impact! So its a little of this and a bit of that around here. Let’s get rolling……

Warning- VERY picture heavy, you might want to see this post sitting!

Outdoor furniture!! Its a beautiful line from Woodard (the Landgrave division)  and I really love it, we have to now get busy figuring out pillows and accessories to add to the setting

This is just the start but I will be sure to share things as we go along……

The furniture is from Woodard Landgrave, a beautiful elegant beautifully built line of outdoor furniture

Love taking pictures late in the day, that late day sun is my absolute favorite

Love the elegant clean lines, now need to figure out pillows and accessories (the fun part)…..

Tried out my loggia pillows, they are a little small but think the blues look beautiful…….

Meanwhile back inside getting ready for a casual BBQ on Sunday……

The sunflowers looked so perfect with my beautiful melamine outdoor dishes from my online shop

Love my sunflowers! They are HUGE, towering about 2 and a half feet!

The spinach Greek salad that is fast becoming  a regular around here

Hard to tell here but these scallions were almost 2 feet long! The basil was enormous too…..

My delicious pistachio ice cream sandwiches. So easy and always a HUGE hit. I buy vanilla pizelles and get pistachio ice cream and open it up and then slice it, I add extra pistachios ground up…this is light, delicious, pretty and a perfect summer dessert!

Tossing in the baked almonds to the salad
Yummy peaches with fresh mint chilling for my trademark peach sangria, the perfect summer drink!

Easy peasy, the wine doesn’t need to be expensive just a light dry white wine and Peach Schnapps, fresh peaches and mint, and then the ginger ale is added at the end…..so light and refreshing!

Love a beautiful fruit platter…..found figs which was so exciting, they add a lot to any plate of fruit!

Yum, let me do a “taste test”

Am I the only one who gets excited over pretty tomatoes?
The “sous chef” has decided he has earned a  much needed nap!
All the fixings for my crostini…a regular in this house!

Table getting set up

Veges ready to be thrown on the grill (I added sea salt and pepper and drizzled them with olive oil and they were fantastic)!

Meanwhile our driveway is getting done, its a mess but the end result will be wonderful…..

And to The Hamptons……

Sorry… I know this is cruel, espeically if you are hungry (which I am right now) and suddenly am craving a fresh lobster roll on squishy bread!

All of my favorite flowers at one of my favorite garden centers……

These orchids were AMAZING. Four stems…and HUGE!

And yes, of course one had to come home with me, it was begging to be picked and brought home!
If you are a hydrangea fan…you would have gone mad, they were there in every color!

Though I am not a big hibiscus fan, this pretty purple color got my attention…..

Loved this large boxwood globe (36″ round)

More flowers getting stuffed into the car…..
Never met a sunflower I didn’t love!
Beautiful Mecox Gardens
And the orchid beauty just continued to wow me!
Loooove farm stands, but I am sure you know that by now:)

And how gorgeous of a picture did these make? It made me want to plan a party around a sunflower theme!

Love the farm stands…..they almost excite me more than a great clothing boutique (almost)!

 Beautiful vineyards…..
An abundance of fresh fruit and flowers………
 Love coming home and “playing”….
 Charm galore!

Even the storage sheds have blooming hydrangeas!

And once again my backseat is loaded up with as much as I can squeeze into it
Duckwalk is a wonderful conveniently located vineyard…..

 Another beautiful nursery…..
Windmills to me are synonymous with The Hamptons
 As are roadside farm stands….
And gorgeous sunflowers just waiting for a new home

White hydrangeas always stop me in my tracks!!

Back at home put together a pretty casual arrangement  in one of my favorite blue and white bud vases

And the huge sunflowers in this large blue and white vase…love the color combination

And finally put my huge orchid in the centerpiece bowl on my island in the kitchen, love the effect
And my hydrangea in its rightful home……love this planter from my online shop
So that is a wrap of what’s going on around here. Trying to get into the summer groove and have to say this week it finally feels like I am. Love nothing more than a trip to the beach, a visit to my local farmstand, a car filled with fresh veges and fruits, flowers to come home and arrange, it’s all part of what makes summer so amazing and an equally good reminder to stop and smell the roses along the way!

Some girls need diamonds and other expensive accoutrements (and believe me I won’t turn them down) but I realized the older I get the more I appreciate the simple pleasures in life………how about you? Whats your summer pleasure? Thanks as always for stopping in!

Pillow heaven…..

Hi there! Hope everyone had a wonderful and safe July 4th holiday. Ours was relaxing and enjoyable. Our plans were slightly derailed (thanks to teenagers who would rather be with their friends than parents) but we ended up not taking our trip to Maine and instead ended up going to the Hamptons. I was at first, extremely disappointed but it turned out to be a lot of fun and we were blessed with amazing weather so no complaints….still got my share of lobster rolls, a bit of shopping, beachtime  and other indulgences! Maine will have to wait maybe until later in the summer. So its back to business and I must admit I missed blogging and checking in with all my blogging friends so it’s awfully  nice to be back!

I love pillows. Have a feeling I have a loooot of company. Lets face it, they are an inexpensive way to totally changing up a space without breaking the bank or having to visit your local furniture store for a total redo. They can  add so much to a space and today’s selection is as vast as its ever been. When I was looking for pillows for the loggia furniture, I was getting frustrated. I knew exactly what I wanted but I just wasn’t finding it. I found something pretty close at Frontgate but had a hard time justifying $160 a pop for a basic cotton pillow, not even including trim! And then even with that price tag I liked it, didn’t love it.

Soon I turned to Etsy, figuring there’s a reason so many talk about it and lo and behold I was in pillow nirvana. Suddenly I had too many choices…that should be my biggest problem! So I ended up ordering two batches figuring I would “play” and play I did. So below are pictures (some of which you might have seen) of the two sets of pillows…honestly love them both but Schumachers Chiang Mia has always had a special place in my heart so this is the one that shall remain. The others, the ikat might be used for the pool (totally works) or for the outdoor furniture on the main patio coming any day. I also am including my own little mood board of the final contenders and then the Etsy sites of the two wonderful women I dealt with who were both a total pleasure and produced high quality well priced merchandise! So here we go….

My mood board featuring the final contenders…it was a tough choice admittedly!
The first batch I got in were the ikat and geometric courtesy of  Motif Pillows. She has an absolutely gorgeous selection of pillows and I am certain I will be shopping with her again! Motif pillows were just stunning, click here to visit her online shop.  Below are a few of her recent offerings, all so pretty!

And here are my own pillows from her on display……

Then I got the pillows in from Studio Trullia  and it was love at first sight. She produces really high quality pillows and uses wonderful fabrics. Her customer service was fantastic as well as as her accommodations and turnaround time. Click here to visit her shop and here are a few pillows from her shop currently being offered, all gorgeous once again!

And here is my heap ready to find their home…..

So ultimately the Chiang Mai won out, I just love it..it is what was in my head the entire time. Waiting on two more lumbars and the solid ivory with navy tape (last pic) and I am done here. Really love the final result…….

I ordered two of these but in the reverse, ivory with navy tape…should be here next week!

And here are a few more wonderful pillow sources on Etsy worth sharing….

Ylaylas on Etsy

So the bottom line is this……….I found ultimately exactly what I had been looking for. LOVE what I have and cannot wait to do more! I don’t need to look anywhere else but Etsy, seriously there are sooooo many amazing pillow resources and for the most  part they are all so much less than their competition (the big names) plus I was happy to support a small business owner and in turn got exactly what I wanted.

So if pillows are by chance something you are in the market for by all means do take a look at the two resources I mentioned here and Etsy in general, there are so many wonderful finds! Happy pillow shopping and thanks for stopping in! Wishing you a wonderful weekend and be back on Monday!
