Living rooms to lust after!

A happy Wednesday to you!..?In continuing my posts on rooms that I am loving, today its all about that highly mysterious, rarely used but oh so deserving room, the elusive living room! Yes that one room that we typically spend most of our budget, all of our brainpower and talents and at least as much energy and time on decorating only to use once or twice a year! I am no exception, believe me, ?but hopefully this time around will make a point to use it a bit more than I did in my old house. Admittedly, it was a room I pretty much never went into except to sit down and marvel at how beautiful things looked, and wonder why we never used it! In any case, whether its enjoyed to its fullest or not, the living room is nonetheless a beautiful room and one that generally showcases our personal design and taste. There is no one winning combination, and I have a true appreciation for living rooms of many styles, colors and feels. So today is all about some seriously beautiful living rooms…any secrets to creating a gorgeous living room that you want to share? Do tell! ?For fun I “named” each of these rooms…so “who” is your favorite?

30 ways to rock a crystal chandelier……..

Happy Monday morning to you !  So much happening at the house this week…….kitchen starts getting installed Wednesday- am so excited! This will be a process that will happen over a few weeks, as there are many elements to be installed, but the fact that even the “boxes’ are coming is a sure sign that the end cannot be far! They sealed the kitchen floors over the weekend again in preparation for the kitchen and after being covered up right away after they were installed I never really got a chance to sit and admire them. Well, suffice to say I spent plenty of time this weekend just standing, staring and LOVING my kitchen floors. I am truly in love with them….crazy sounding as it might be! Will be sure to update on Thursday.
Don’t you just love a gorgeous crystal chandelier and what it adds to a room? Putting the sparkle factor aside, it adds a sense of old worldness, grandeur and has a beautiful way of anchoring a room. Chandeliers are by no means reserved strictly for traditional rooms but in fact work beautifully in even the most modern rooms too. Whats more, you see them well, just about everywhere today. In laundry rooms, back mud rooms, closets, dressing rooms, bathrooms, so many unexpected places and of course as expected in  bedrooms, living, dining rooms and kitchens. Today I look at many different styles in many different types of settings. There is not a bad choice amongst them, each quite exquisite in my view. What are your thoughts on crystal chandeliers? Do you love or like them? Do you have a favorite look? Would love to know!

My “chair”e amour

Happy Wednesday! Hope everyone is off to have a wonderful day. Tell me who doesn’t have some amour for chairs! We all have them, and I am nearly sure we all love them. Can you imagine a room without them?  I cannot even begin to wrap my head around all the different styles, frames, fabrics and colors that chairs come in,…its endless. They often anchor a room with the way they are scattered throughout, or may be flanking a fireplace…..without them well our interiors would be rather boring and mundane.
Today I focus on a wide rage of chairs, scalloped, club, wing, French caned back, wood framed, side chair, etc…the list goes on! Do you have a favorite kind of chair you like to use when decorating? A favorite type of fabric to use on the chairs? All I know is there is nothing quite as nice as sinking into a really comfortable chair (one with down really helps) and getting comfy and cozy, perhaps with a good book, a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. Add an ottoman, big bonus points! I love chairs not only in the obvious places like living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms but in bathrooms and in foyers, back halls and even stair landings.
