Since then I an consistently drawn to the versatile, always elegant yet inviting look of buffalo checks. There are so many ways to use them, in all the many colors…..how about you? Do you like them? Have you decorated with them? Would you? I used a smaller buffalo check in my back powder room and have a chair in my living room in buffalo check silk. Today’s a tribute to this wonderful print…….what do you think? Let me know! Feast your eyes on these……..

They work beautifullly in a tonal bedroom….very soothing and tranquil. Pinterest
Love the gorgeous palette here…..
Gorgeous warm breakfast room/library of warm woods features them, Colefax and Fowler
Love the mix of patterns here, a fun, masculine and elegant room, Emily Jenkins Followhill
What an inviting space. I could easily flop down here with my cup of coffee and a great book…yes please!

30 MORE reasons why blue and white ginger jars rock!

Good morning …..finally a beautiful less humid day over here!! How was your weekend? Finally the horribly humid weather broke yesterday and we had a spectacular day. Started it off by going on a walk with a few friends, then hit a local farm for some fresh fruit and veges, I got basil the size of a small tree! Ended it with seeing the Bourne Legacy, which we thought was excellent. Jason Renner was fantastic (and this is by no means a genre I normally enjoy) but it really kept you on the edge of your seat! Sister coming in today with family on way back from Maine so I will be busy entertaining today. I have a very busy week ahead….how about you? Whats new in your world?

OK, if you have been visiting my blog even for a few hours, its no secret that I LOVE blue and white, all things for that matter. But especially blue and white porcelain and bring it up a notch and make it blue and white ginger jars. Is there not a room in the world that doesn’t and wouldn’t look sensational with them? I think not! i have seen them in the most unsuspecting places and sure enough, they looked stupendous. I am a firm believe and a self appointed president of the blue and white ginger jar club! So here we go….30 beautiful reasons why they just rock my world.

Wish I could remember where I got this picture, you can see why it was worth saving!
Talented Tobi Fairley knows the power of a ginger jar in the dining room!
Flanking a kitchen sink? Why not! Jennifer McGee
Gorgeous large grouping of blue and white?
A close up of above…..beautiful!
Love the idea of a cluster of them on a coffee table, Joy Tribaut
Love this space and the varied ginger jars add just the right “pop” to this magnificent room, Nancy Corzine
Adore this gorgeous collection of blue and white jars and boxes on this console, Trad Home
A beautiful tall classic ginger jar with a floral arrangements on a dining table is always gorgeous!
Christy Ford dreamt up this stunning space, love every single element here!
My “recipe’ for when in doubt for what to put on any chest, add two well sized ginger jars and something in the middle….works every time! Leta Austin Foster
Arranged on a mantle ledge, in varying shapes and height is an interesting way to add subtle interest to a fireplace
Love them behind sofas…John Bossard
Pretty idea to add the two ginger jars on the French door window ledge, Leta Austin Foster
They make the perfect statement piece on a coffee table….Rinfret
Ginger jar lamps…..love them! Will soon have many in my store!
Of course I am love seeing ginger jars displayed on elegant brackets like Linda Floyd does
Love how the blue and white jars pop against this lime green painted piece, gorgeous! Mary Louise Drysdale
Love how Jennifer McGee used a number of ginger jars to accessorize this beautiful kitchen
Beautiful statement to make with one jumbo ginger jar filled with a spray of flowers, my own picture
House Beautiful….love the idea of adding oversized jumbo ginger jars next to a sofa (have to remember that)
Stunning in this stairhall landing against all the white and dark wood accents, Lonny
Love the idea of an oversized jar overflowing with long stems, my picture
Few things make such an elegant statement as filling a hutch with blue and white porcelains!
How about a beautiful pair on a dining room? Absolutely! My pictures
Who said they are only for the indoors? They are gorgeous outside!
Tell me what is prettier on a party table, then a gorgeous blue and white jar filled to the brim with wide open blooms……..

Canopies, Caronas and Crowns…..oh my!

Happy Wednesday to you! As I am starting to finally think seriously about my guest room and my own bedroom (at long last), one look I am continuously drawn is canopied beds and beds with crowns. Yes, it is very classic and traditional, having been done for centuries but now you also see it being done with a modern twist to give it a fresher cleaner feel. Its a beautiful way to use a favorite fabric or combination of fabrics and just feels so “cocoonlike”.?

I remember the very first?time I slept in a bed with a soaring crown was in a beautiful hotel room in Belgium about 15 years ago. I felt like a royal and must say I had an awfully great nights rest. So….am sure I want to do the same thing in ?my own guest room and today’s post is a tribute to all the wonderful treatments that can be applied to a bed. What are your thoughts? Is it a like? A love? Would love to know! Here we go………feast your eyes on these beauties!

This beautiful bedroom has been an inspiration for my guest room, love the check fabric used inside, think it makes it less fussy and crisp feeling, Joy Tribaut
The colors here are my favorite, I like the idea of a very quiet print with solid colored muted bedding, so inviting! TH
Beautiful application, love how the fabric matches the wallpaper, also love the gathered carona, ?Kendall Wilkinson
LOVE the scalloping detail on this vision in ivory, Phoebe Howard
Always adored this bedroom, so serene and inviting! Cathy Kincaid
?Fun twist on a traditional room for a lucky young lady! Palmer Weiss
How pretty is the soft billowy fabric used as a canopy? So soothing and calming…..Howard
Thom Felicia’s bold take on a modern day canopy bed
Mary McDonald dreamt up this vision in white!
Wiliam Eubanks designed this fabulous master retreat using warm soothing tones…so elegant!
How sweet is the pink gingham? Love it! Shes so pretty
This sumptuous room by Mario Buatta just screams “come jump here” and bring your mags and books with you (and a indulgent little snack too:)
Love this serene oasis of a room, the scale of the room makes it feel majestic, Veranda
Always been a fan of this gorgeous dreamy room of canopied twin beds, Cathy Kincaid
Love pretty prints in rich warm tones for a canopy as Rinfret did in this elegant retreat
Love this monochromatic take on an elegant modern daybed….beautiful!
Of course everything Ralph Lauren touches turns to gold or at least into a bed fit for a princess!
Solis Bentancourt’s modern take on a pair of canopy beds, pretty!
And for a more masculine approach, canopy beds can still work…as shown here in Cottage and Gardens.
I really like Michael S. Smith’s take on a more transitional cleaner feel on a canopy bed, Elle Decor
Barry Dixon designed this fabulous retreat in brown, love the feeling!
And finally….who said canopy beds are just for humans? ?Aristopaws
Too cute! Chinoiserie Chic
Had to throw in mans best friends, they like to live in great style too! So….whats your take? Do you love this look? Do you favor it more traditionally or like the more modern take? To me, its just beautiful any which way. As always, love to hear what you think. Wishing you a fabulous day!
