?

My perfect summer day would start at this time of the morning (or afternoon)….. 5:30 AM
The bedroom I wake up in would look something like this…… white sheers, blowing in the sea air, with piles of white linens, and seagrass covered floors.
And my bathroom like this… black and white with a large?Jacuzzi?bathtub, a rain shower, and a huge window overlooking the beach.

A favorite beauty product I love to use during the summer…….. Keratin Complex Conditioner to control the frizzes caused by the humidity.

And this is an ideal summer outfit that you might find me frolicking in……. a shift is my all-time favorite beach and home outfit with a pair of sandals or espadrille. I love the tee-shirt shifts too!

My view from my bedroom in the summer looks like this…… a beautiful view of the ocean at every time of day, especially stormy weather.

And of course this perfect summer day is located in……….. 30-A
?

For breakfast I would indulge in…….. Eggs Benedict and fresh fruit with honey poppyseed dressing. Fresh orange juice and coffee. Bloody Mary on the weekends.

After I am showered, fed and revved up to start my day, I will……. go shopping and later in the evening play tennis.
For lunch this is my absolute favorite summertime meal…… raw oysters or Mexican.

An afternoon snack might comprise of…….. a smoothie.

My afternoon activity would be……… a nice nap.

The ideal summer drink is…….. Pina Colada, Mint Julep, and of course Sangria.

This is what would be served for my ideal summer dinner…… Seared Sea Scallops or a Kona Crusted Filet and Lobster at George’s. I always have a gelato or sorbet for dessert.

And where I eat it might look like this………..?I really love to eat on the deck in the evening. The smell and feel of the salt air breeze is amazing.

A perfect summer ending to perfect summer day would end………. a walk on the beach with a glass of merlot in hand or a night in a favorite nightspot.

The best part of my summer day is……….. falling asleep with the moon above and the waves roaring.

Tina-Thank you so much for this interview. I am honored that you asked me.

Wow Teresa, you have me wanting to click my heels and be transported to this picture perfect day, the beach pictures have me dreaming! And the idea of walking along the beach at sunset, Merlot in hand is absolutely the best way to end a perfect day I could not agree more. ?Love your ideas of an afternoon siesta, and the food at George’s looks DIVINE!! One question, I know we are all wondering is the picture of all the dolphins in the wave “for real”? That is the most amazing picture…and to have caught it on film, even more astounding. Thanks for sharing with us your perfect summer day, my bet is that you have a lot of people out there dreaming right about now and even more that would be more than happy to share it with you. Click here to visit Teresa over at her blog, Splendid Sass. Thanks for stopping in….wishing you a wonderful summer day.

Which would you choose? And a guest post!

Happy Monday to you! Notice a new banner? Told you this would be my new obsession, so don’t be surprised to see it change from time to time. These are all my own house so it has special meaning:)

I am sooo honored to be featured on one of my absolute most favorite blogs in all of blogland, I am being featured today at Splendid Sass. Lovely Teresa chose to feature me, my home and shop and I am so touched and thrilled. And let me tell you, its like a book…she did an unbelievable job posting pictures of the house that even I forgot about and was so happy to see! I mean we are talking about Teresa, who posts THE most beautiful images to be found in the entire blogosphere….always something totally jaw droppingly gorgeous to see over there! I am naturally tickled pink to “make the cut” and be featured! So do head over…promise you will be glad you did. Click here to visit!

?A new week, and summer is here….woo hoo! I feel like its going to go by so fast already, I am ready to christen the new season with a much anticipated lobster dinner, a beach day and a nice cool tropical mixed drink! Whenever summer rolls around, I cannot help but think about how much I want a beachhouse. It happens every year….sure enough.
But then again when I visit NYC, it makes me long for our old apt. and yet again when I go to a lake, naturally I am craving a charming laid back lake house. And lets not forget about my dreams of becoming a modern day farmgal complete with my own charming farmhouse, a big thriving garden and only the sound of crickets. So all this desire brings me to my post today. Lets just imagine you and your significant other, your family or just you! has decided to buy a second home….a vacation reprise. Where oh where would you go? The beach, a lake, a bustling city pied a terre, so many possibilities but you can only choose one! So think hard, and let me hear which would be your choice!! I cannot wait to hear!

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?CHOICE 1 This charming and cozy beach house

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? CHOICE 2 This picturesque tranquil lake house right on the water

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? CHOICE 3 This fabulous and chic ?apartment high in the sky in your favorite city

? ? ? ? ? ?CHOICE 4 This idyllic farmhouse on a large plot of land with not a neighbor in site

CHOICE 5. Or who needs the maintenance? Give me a lifetime of airline tickets and my passport to be free to discover new places on a whim……..

I am so torn between each of them…..truly there is something to love and lust after with each lifestyle including the luxury and freedom of traveling whenever and to wherever you want but then again, those airport lines, the chaos, removing your shoes, no water bottles, on second thought an actual physical vacation house that’s all mine sounds really good afterall. But which to choose? I cannot wait to hear what you have to say! Wishing you a fabulous day.

So, how did you end up blogging?
I was looking through one of my design magazines and saw the link to Habitually Chic.? I started reading Heather?s blog and the blogs of others and decided to try the blogging thing myself.? Well, two years later, here I am!

A few things I love about fall are………………..
Everything.? I love the weather, the clothes, the festivals, and the sports! ?

You get to spend a month at the perfect beach house on the beach, will it be Malibu or Nantucket??Well, either would be perfect, but Nantucket would most likely be my first choice. I love the quaintness of this area.

Two weeks first class all the way, is it London or Paris???Both places are on my list of places to visit, but I would love to go to Paris to see the art, food, and antiques.? I would love to go to the Louvre.?
My daughter speaks French, and has been to Paris, so I think I would invite her to go.

If I were 18 again I would……. eat healthier foods and take better care of my skin.
Otherwise, I wouldn?t change a thing. Life experiences make us who we are, and I am happy with my life and my family.

What would be on your plate for your ultimate dream dinner and dessert?
Filet of beef with a wine reduction, lobster tail, asparagus, and garlic mashed potatoes.? For dessert, I would order tiramisu.

Tell us as little or much as you want to about your family?
I have two lovely sisters, and two beautiful children.? My son is married to a beautiful woman, and my daughter is in her fourth year of college.?
I am so proud of them, and can?t wait to be a Grammy one day!

Worst habit? Best trait?
My worst habits are drinking too much coffee and talking too much.?
My best trait is my love for people. ?

Favorite design trend?
My favorite design trend is a more neutral palette and the rustic textures.

One?golden rule/advice for decorating that you would pass on.
Decorate with the colors, furnishings, art, and keepsakes that are special to you.?You home should showcase who you are.

Designer icon….Bobby McAlpine

You get to have lunch with anyone in the entire world, could be from Hollywood, a famous author or playwright, a politician, rock star, a cooking guru, religious leader, anyone?who are the lucky two to sit at your table? ??Anderson Cooper.? I love his drive and dedication to his life, family, and career.

A perfect day would start with Croissants, fruit, and coffee on the terrace and end with dinner and wine at a fabulous bistro.

If we could only live in one season year round, which would you choose and why??
Winter.? It puts a skip in my step, and I love the fresh cold air.? I also love the holiday season, especially Christmas.

Describe your favorite outfit.?
My favorite outfit would be a heavy cotton cable knit sweater with wool pants or jeans and knee high boots.

Tell me about a dream vacation for you and your family??
I have always wanted to go to Italy.? The architecture and art is amazing, and the food is perfect!

Favorite movie or book that you could read or watch over and over? ?Oh goodness, I guess it would have to be a tossup between You’ve got Mail or The Holiday! I also love The Great Gatsby.

3 qualities that I think fairly describe me are.?
Optimistic, dedicated, and driven.

Comedy or dramas?
Definitely comedy!? I am a chick flick kind of girl!? Bring on the laughter and the tears.

A book that I have read in the last few years that I really really loved………………..
Julia Child?s ?My Life in France? was a charming book.? I read a lot of textbooks in my MLA program.

In my next life I will be a designer early on.

One thing I absolutely cannot live without is.………coffee and my iPhone.

If I have learned one thing in life, it is……………….. Do what you love.? It always takes you to where you should be!

And now a little recap on the all the things Teresa loves!

Loved You’ve got Mail, its one of those movies, Teresa I could watch over and over, ditto The Great Gatsby! ?Anything Julia Child I say a big resounding yes to and please include me when you meet with your buddy Anderson. I am fascinated, intrigued and in awe of your many accomplishments and positive energy. You are a true inspiration! Croissants, Italy and Nantucket, coffee and your IPhone…we are meant to be friends! Do stop on over to visit Teresa over at Splendid Sass. Thank you Teresa for participating and to all of you for stopping in! Wishing you a wonderful day.

Don’t forget to also visit me over at Splendid Willow to see what I am enjoying giving as a gift this year!

Last, Lauren from Aspiring Kennedy reached out to a group of bloggers to ask them to spread the word about Charity Water and the Well done campaign.. I was thrilled to do so as I am aware of this fabulous organization and it is with pleasure that I ask you to take a look at this powerful video which shows you how Charity water came to be. It is truly an extraordinary story and one worth the few minutes it will take to watch, I promise you will not regret it! ?To think, it ?all started with a birthday!!

If you feel moved to donate, please visit the link below. Even one dollar is not too little, every cent makes a difference in this effort to ensure that everyone is given the luxury of clean drinking water. A campaign has started, a challenge has been issued to have each of the 25 blogs raise $250.00 within a month. There is no doubt in my mind that we can do this! I think nothing about grabbing several bottles of clean Poland Spring water every day, taking a shower, brushing my teeth a few times a day,etc…..knowing the water is clean and I am protected. Many do not have this luxury. I hope you will consider joining the fight to ensure clean water for everyone.
Click here to donate and thank you!

If I were 18 again I would……. eat healthier foods and take better care of my skin.
Otherwise, I wouldn?t change a thing. Life experiences make us who we are, and I am happy with my life and my family.

What would be on your plate for your ultimate dream dinner and dessert?
Filet of beef with a wine reduction, lobster tail, asparagus, and garlic mashed potatoes.  For dessert, I would order tiramisu.

Tell us as little or much as you want to about your family?
I have two lovely sisters, and two beautiful children.  My son is married to a beautiful woman, and my daughter is in her fourth year of college.
I am so proud of them, and can?t wait to be a Grammy one day!

Worst habit? Best trait?
My worst habits are drinking too much coffee and talking too much.
My best trait is my love for people.

Favorite design trend?
My favorite design trend is a more neutral palette and the rustic textures.

One golden rule/advice for decorating that you would pass on.
Decorate with the colors, furnishings, art, and keepsakes that are special to you. You home should showcase who you are.

Designer icon….Bobby McAlpine

You get to have lunch with anyone in the entire world, could be from Hollywood, a famous author or playwright, a politician, rock star, a cooking guru, religious leader, anyone?who are the lucky two to sit at your table?   Anderson Cooper.  I love his drive and dedication to his life, family, and career.

A perfect day would start with Croissants, fruit, and coffee on the terrace and end with dinner and wine at a fabulous bistro.

If we could only live in one season year round, which would you choose and why?
Winter.  It puts a skip in my step, and I love the fresh cold air.  I also love the holiday season, especially Christmas.

Describe your favorite outfit.
My favorite outfit would be a heavy cotton cable knit sweater with wool pants or jeans and knee high boots.

Tell me about a dream vacation for you and your family??
I have always wanted to go to Italy.  The architecture and art is amazing, and the food is perfect!

Favorite movie or book that you could read or watch over and over?  Oh goodness, I guess it would have to be a tossup between You’ve got Mail or The Holiday! I also love The Great Gatsby.

3 qualities that I think fairly describe me are
Optimistic, dedicated, and driven.

Comedy or dramas?
Definitely comedy!  I am a chick flick kind of girl!  Bring on the laughter and the tears.

A book that I have read in the last few years that I really really loved………………..
Julia Child?s ?My Life in France? was a charming book.  I read a lot of textbooks in my MLA program.

In my next life I will be a designer early on.

One thing I absolutely cannot live without is.………coffee and my iPhone.

If I have learned one thing in life, it is……………….. Do what you love.  It always takes you to where you should be!

And now a little recap on the all the things Teresa loves!

Loved You’ve got Mail, its one of those movies, Teresa I could watch over and over, ditto The Great Gatsby!  Anything Julia Child I say a big resounding yes to and please include me when you meet with your buddy Anderson. Do stop on over to visit Teresa over at Splendid Sass. Thank you Teresa for participating and to all of you for stopping in! Wishing you a wonderful day.

To think, it  all started with a birthday!!
