Hope everyone has a fabulous and relaxing Mother’s day. Let’s face it, being a mother is not always easy….it will try you and push you to limits we didn’t know possible. There are no paid leaves or coffee breaks, its a 24/7 gig. And there is no such a thing as retiring from this job….oh no, it is with you till the very end:) And the worrying surely does not magically stop at 18, it just evolves to a different type of worry:)

It will and can be difficult, frustrating, anxiety inducing, BUT it can also be the most gratifying and fulfilling job there is, period. To know you created these wonderful (most of the time) human beings, to know that their accomplishments and successes are yours to celebrate with them is as good as it gets. To see them soar and achieve their dreams, well….that is just kind of the ultimate and to me better than any raise or promotion that a “traditional job” could ever offer.

I was lucky to have been given the ultimate role model, my own mom. This woman is a saint, the epitome of a true lady and what a devoted, kindhearted, selfless mother should be. I continue to aspire to be just like her (OK maybe with a little less worrying thrown in) and she is most definitely  my “career role model”. So thanks Mom, you are and continue to be the ultimate mother and I feel very very blessed.to have you.

I am so happy that my son came home from college, so its going to be such a treat to have everyone in my nest!! It was very cold, rainy and stormy yesterday but looks like the rain is gone, so bring on the sun. Having my little family together is most certainly the  best Mother’s Day gift ever! Cheers to motherhood……

1 MY MINT JULEPS READY FOR THE DERBY. So here is how we celebrated the most exciting 2 minutes in sports….why not go the traditional route?  I must say these mint juleps are super functional, I use them for all my brushes, toothbrush, mini vases, the list goes on!  I also added my pretty linen monogrammed napkins, definitely brought out the Southern in me:)

2 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST So many beautiful things to share this week with a healthy dose of cuteness. And my faves this week……

And my fave this week is this adorable shot, reminds me so much of my boys when they were young and brings back great memories..what cutie pies!!

3. THE NEW SITE NEARLY DONE! I know, I know you have heard this before. Believe me, you have no idea how frustrating its been for me to be “almost there” but still have many outstanding issues. The last developer turned out to be a bust and while aspects of the current site I really like, the functionality has room for improvement. I hired someone new and for the last 8-9 weeks we have been working fast and furious.

I know many do not get my emails announcing a new post despite subscribing and resubscribing many times, too many to count have been upset over the inability to pin…all this plus so much more will soon be changing! On top of that I was not happy with the current shop site, the pictures were too small and there was no zoom in. There were many pictures that were not very clear and some descriptions were missing. Well, that too is going to change here is a sneak  peek. People, there is light at the end of the tunnel!

4. A FANTASTIC NEW RECIPE FOR A FAVORITE SALAD. This all started with our many many weekends spent traveling for my sons lacrosse tournaments. When we needed to have lunch or dinner in an unfamiliar town/city,  one sure thing was good ol Cheesecake factory,  it was a reliable choice for meals on the road. Unfortunately my iPhone died as I was making this a few days ago but here a few pics-

My absolute favorite item there is the Sante Fe salad, the dressing is as good as chocolate! I was excited to find this copy cat recipe which I must say is nearly a carbon copy of theirs..it’s that good. So of course i have to share it with you. When I make the dressing, I make 2 or 3 times the amount and freeze some for future use. Super tasty and incredibly satisfying.S

SALAD

Four heads of romaine lettuce ( I like mine almost shredded)

6 thin chicken breasts

2 cobs of corn cooked and kernels cut off

1 can black beans

About 1/2 cup of shredded Monterrey Jack cheese

Tomato to your liking

Tortilla strips (I buy the bag sold in the salad/nuts area)

OPTIONAL – Diced fresh avocado

DRESSING

2 bunches cilantro

fresh lemon juice from one lemon

1/2 cup olive oil

1 TBSP brown sugar ( I have used without and you really do not taste the difference)

1/4 peanut butter (I used only one -two TBSP)

Use a food processor to mix all dressing ingredients togehter until thickened and smooth. For chicken, I get a baking pan drizzle olive oil, salt and pepper chicken and drizzle oil on other side, cook at about 350 for about 15-20 min (until golden). I shred the chicken once cool and add all remaining ingredients plus chicken to large bowl. Dress salad to your liking when ready to serve. Bon appetit!

5. MY TALENTED CUSTOMERS AND EDESIGN CLIENTS. I love getting in your pictures and got a few recant ones that I just had to share, they are so pretty and will soon be added to the new site.

Look at a few recent pictures from customers, this is a gorgeous blue and white vignette-

And what a stunning party/party platter-

On the design front, here is a great before and after, amazing what reupholstery can do with the right other pieces in place!

These are a few in progress shots from a few design clients, loving the way these spaces are coming out-

And in another customers beautiful living room, we are starting to put all the finish touches together, look forward to showing you the rest of this fabulous room soon!

6. MY MOTHERS DAY PLEDGE. In honor of Mother Day, I  have to end this with a bang.  I laughed at this because this is “so me” and most certainly my own mom:) A keeper and one to be shared!

7. SUNDAY’S SURVEY. This is all about committing yourself to things, obligations, invitations and such. Until I was around 40 I felt like I had to to do it all. I said yes to most things and thrived on going, going, going all the time and did. I remember if someone called me at home I (remember those days when we actually used our home phones for real calls not solicitors? And if someone found me home they were shocked.

But something really strange happened at around 50, I suddenly LOVED being home. I couldn’t get enough of being home. And when we did go out especially for late nights,I find myself fantasizing about getting home into my snugly bed by 10pm. WHAT HAPPENED TO ME?

Even this month we have gotten three fantastic invites to three amazing events/parties including a extended bday weekend on an island  and I am a little torn as I am saying no and really don’t want to go yet a part of me feels a tinge of guilt or that I might have regrets. We have about 5 or 6 weddings and several other things over the next several months so I don’t want to feel over committed. A far cry from how i used to be that is for sure!

Wondering how  common this might be? Do I have company out there? One of the most liberating things about turning 50 is just owning how you feel and doing what you want to do without looking back or making apologies for it. When I do say yes and commit, I always end up having a great time, guess it’s quality over quantity.  Thinking this also has to do with working full time…..I appreciate my down time and not having to adhere to a overly booked schedule on weekends.  What say you?

That wraps up my Seven on Sunday and this Mother’s Day edition. I want to wish every single mother out there, a most relaxing wonderful day spent doing exactly as you please, and basking in the adoration of those you love and who love you back.

We ALL deserve a day to ourselves, certainly motherhood is the hardest and most rewarding job out there. I always say there is Father’s Day, then the longest holiday, 363 Kid’s Days (isn’t every day a holiday for them 🙂 So our designated day is well, well deserved. Enjoy and thank you for stopping in! Until next time….

An enchanted afternoon…..

Hi friends….so happy to have finished putting together this post so I could share this special day with you. Last week I had such a great time hosting a wonderful blogger/author luncheon with some of my bff’s in the blogging world. We got together to also celebrate the very exciting debut of Kristy Harvey’s third novel,Slightly South of Simple and to me, it is her best yet. I am almost finished reading it and it simply MUST be made into a movie or series…I am sure it will be, it is that good!  I don’t want it to end! Click here to snag one for yourself.

As you, by now know, I get pretty obsessed with details when I entertain, sometimes being a bit too OCD. Maybe that’s why I don’t entertain as often lol. Nevertheless, details and all, I had loads of fun putting this together. I wanted a beautiful springy, cheery, colorful tablescape. Originally slated to be set up outdoors, the cooler weather with possible rain in the forecast brought that to a screeching halt.

So I set up in the dining groom which ended up being just fine. Just as well as it’s a room we rarely use, so it was nice to enjoy it. I started my prep a few days before and now that I am working full time, every minute counts. Of course it included a trip to my beloved flower market!! That is always a highlight of putting together any party, small or large. My only regret is not taking a video….next time for sure!

LOTS and LOTS of pictures here, so sit down and grab a cup of something good. I also included a few of the recipes as many of you ask. Hope you enjoy…..

THE PREP-

Here is a look behind the scenes the morning of, as I got busy, cooking, preparing and flower arranging-

FLOWER ARRANGING 101-

Always a huge part of planning any event, small or large and surely one of my most favorite excuses to go into the flower market! Here is the loot I came home with, was so excited that this happened to fall between peony, lilacs and cherry blossom season, my favorites!

As I bought them two days earlier, I stored them in the garage in buckets until the day of

Let the fun begin!

FUN PART, GETTING TO PUT ALL MY ARRANGEMENTS OUT-

UPON ARRIVAL-

My signature cocktail was handed out upon arrival

\

One of my favorite appetizers, and these are so elegant and simple. I put a few tablespoons of a spring vegetable dip on the bottom of each mini mint julep and then put the elegant vegetables in it, everyone got their own, no plates or forks…easy peasy!

And can you believe all these gorgeous hostess gifts I got!

THE TABLE ALL SET-

It is always a thrill when the table you saw in your head becomes reality:)

How fabulous are these mini tureens in which the soup was served? Soon to be added to the shop

The size of some of these peonies were amazing, and this is proof that all colors go with blue and white!

Here are few taken with my Nikon (before the battery died)

THE FOOD-

Here is what was served for lunch-

I started with tomato soup, and then moved onto baby arugula salad with grilled artichokes and Parmesan with a lemon/olive oil dressing, a kale/cabbage Asian salad with pears, a super delicious herbed chicken salad in bite size minis and individual spring green quiche-

I did not get to snap a pic of the big platter of the mini chicken salad sandwiches but did get the “leftovers” the next day, these are bite size and so cute

I am so upset I did not get a picture of my heavenly berry Napoleon dessert! But I served that along with a big tray of fresh fruit and coffee….

RECIPES-

My easy Enchanted signature welcome drink- Fill half a champagne flute with pink champagne, add the remainder of the glass with raspberry sparkling water, throw in 3 or 4 fresh raspberries, and voila! You have yourself a wonderful drink to welcome your guests!

Tomato Soup- Click here to Pioneer Woman for the soup recipe, full disclosure- I cut the butter in half as well as the heavy cream, just seemed too rich to put that much in, and you would never have known the difference. I also put a lot more fresh basil and omitted the parsley. Either way it is very very tasty and a nostalgic invoking dish!

Baby Arugula, grilled artichoke and Parmesan- This is elegant, and easy peasy. Buy 2 large containers of baby arugula, either marinate artichokes in some kind of seasoned dressing or olive oil and herbs and then grill or cheat and buy them readily grilled, add a generous amount of Parmesan  flakes (or shredded). Mix together when ready to serve.

For dressing i get a Mason jar, put about 34 cup Olive oil and the juices of 2 soft lemons, shake and add a pinch of salt and pepper. Dress to your liking.

Kale, cabbage Asian salad with pear– I get prepacked bags of kale, and green and red cabbage already shredded, one bag of spinach cut up small, add slivered almonds and when ready to serve slice up 2 ripe pears thin and add on top. Recipe for dressing-

  • ½ small garlic clove, finely grated
  • 1 tablespoon reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons unseasoned rice vinegar
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Whisk garlic, soy sauce, and vinegar in a small bowl. Gradually whisk in olive oil, then sesame oil (dressing will thicken slightly); season with salt and pepper.

Dressing can be made 2 days ahead. Transfer to a jar; cover and chill.

Mini leek/asparagus/gruyere quiche- These are so flavorful and not heavy, truly delicious!  Click here to get recipe from Martha Stewart

Best herbed Chicken salad– This, I could eat every day. So tasty! Click here and scroll to item #5. I added these to cut up square of puff pastry for a light easy bitesize “sandwich” but this is amazing on any kind of bread or even in a lettuce leaf

THE “AFTER PARTY”-

The party may be over but there is still a festive feeling in my home, when I have flowers all over the place, they just make me so happy! I often keep them outside at night for their “beauty sleep” as the cooler weather does them good and prolongs their life…it is always so sad to see them go.

All my hostess gifts looked so pretty on my center hall table, I  kept them just like this for a few days,! Tempting as it was to open them up…just looked so pretty:)

I finally caved in though and just had to open all of them, and what goodies i got!!! Now I have this magnificent arrangement of huge cherry blossoms still going pretty strong with my official new favorite item of mine, my mid sized pagodas (sold out but coming in again in 3 weeks stay tuned for new presale next week)!

Phew….if you made it through this entire post and are reading this, kudos to you…you are definitely a devoted reader:) It was a truly wonderful day and afternoon and was a testament to the wonderful perks of the blogging world, considering this is what brought us all together in the first place.

It is pretty remarkable when you think of it and I feel fortunate to have met such a lovely group of talented women, each so accomplished in their own right. Thank you for stopping by and making me a part of your day. Until next time…..

It’s All Set- April

Hello my friends, been having a beautiful string of weather here. I feel a definite pep in my step with spring here though we are due to get a succession of rainy days.  A few announcements before we start-

Thanks to all for your input on my shutter paint selection. I have it narrowed down but in the. meantime have also found one more color I am thinking could be “the one”! I will share on Sunday once the decision is made.

I know about 30% of you are not getting my emails via subscription, so sorry! We are aware of it and the newly revised site is very close to happening, once that does this subscription problem will also be corrected once and for all!

Last the porcelain container has arrived to the port! We hope to have it in our warehouse no later than Thurs or Friday. We will start getting orders out immediately upon arrival….so hang tight, if you have an order it will soon be on it’s way!

So happy to be here today with another edition of It’s All Set, a monthly group I am a part of where a group of talented tastemakers  come together to showcase a tablescape they have worked on. Let’s face it doing this is always fun and a great excuse to put something pretty together, kind of like an adults version of “dress up” 🙂

Today’s post was  based upon my Easter brunch table. Let’s call this the Easter table with nine lives as things changed and changed again. Life,  right?  A last minute change meant going from a bigger table for several to a smaller table for four. I quickly reassessed and went to work. I take a layering approach when I work on a table setting, and continue to edit until I get it right. I love the way this table came out, it just felt very springy and Easter like with a touch of elegant whimsy. Take a look-

My Mottahedeh Tobacco Leaf service is always a great starting point as are beautiful hydrangeas-

I had little time and could not find blue/purple stemmed hydrangeas so bought a potted hydrangea plant for $16 and cut them them as stems, got about 9 flowers out of it! Thanks Whole Foods:)

Got my trusty little planter ready and went to work

And my table…..before anyone gets all heated over the wrinkled tablecloth, have no fear I used a little portable steamer and it worked like magic:)

Also added a little Easter cheer to a nearby hall chest

Does it sound crazy to say I was most excited over my moss eggs? LOL they were such an unexpected and wonderful find,I love them. And since having little ones to dye Easter eggs is a closed chapter this is the next best thing.

You will most certainly want to visit all of the other talented bloggers to see what they came up with…always a worthwhile click!

1 FABRICS AND TRIMS…OH MY! I so love playing with fabrics and a current job that has been ongoing is starting to get the finishing touches.

This job is one I have been working on for the last several months and it is shaping up so beautifully. I shared some pics here (the NJ project) and will surely show a final reveal when the room is totally done. The final element will be the fabulous Ralph Lauren rug being made (to be delivered in May. We just firmed up all the pillows to be made, here is the rug-

The beautiful rug from Ralph Lauren is being made for them and due here within the month and feast your eyes on all the fabulous trims-

2 FOLLOWUP REPORTS ON A FEW THINGS I recommend things that I like and share my ideas often. Sometimes its fun to follow up when I really really like something. So here are a few recent “reviews”

Get these shoes! Love them, they are so comfortable now have them in two colors. Very chic, super comfy and a great everyday espadrille. Click here for info

These also are too cute, love the color and great scalloped shape plus the color screams ‘warm weather dressing,  here I come”! Click here for info

And finally have been using Glopro for about 10 days,  using it 3 times a week. I just recently learned what microstiumlation/mircroneedling is…and it makes perfect sense to now be able to do it at home, as traditionally this was done in a dermatologists office. It’s easy peasy but I swear its not my imagination, I think my skin is looking better and better.

I have good skin but as this sheds that first sloughy layer off of skin, so allows the skin to breath and open up the pores.  My favorite moisturizer, La Prairie really penetrates the skin. I will say this was well worth the investment and I am going to continue to do this 2-3 times a week as recommended.

I bought mine at Nordstrom as they stand behind their products no questions asked, just in case I didn’t like it. So far though, it is an absolute keeper and I think the buzz Glopro is getting is well deserved. For what a dermatologist charges, this thing pays for itself in one visit. Click here for info

3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST. Very “Easter heavy” and why not, it only comes once a year with a healthy dose of spring and all around pretty thrown in!

4.GORGEOUS NEEDLEPOINT PILLOWS. I so love this exquisite line of very fine needlepoint/aubusson pillows. Got in a handful and will be offering them in a flash sale soon, to “test” the market before I commit to a large order. Thoughts welcome! Please participate in this short poll-

5. PRETTIEST SCONCES! I am excited to soon start carrying this most beautiful line and went with a client to the company headquarters to see them in person. So spectacular!! I have used them for years and often use them in jobs as well, made of the highest quality.

I am using a number of them for my PB home and have their more traditional ones in my current home. Here are some of what I saw….not one I don’t just love.

And this lamp I have used so many times and for good reason,  it is positively gorgeous-

6. MR TEDDY BUNNY. Always save the best for last, say hello to our resident Easter bunny…never seen one cuter! He wishes all of you a very happy happy Easter Sunday but demanded these darn ears get taken off right after his pic was taken, he said they made him look like a donkey. What can I say, he is one smart dog:)

7. SUNDAY’S SURVEY. So today, this is about summer and your plans or lack of plans: Never have I appreciated and enjoyed the blessing of no agenda as I do now that am working full time.

For me summer signifies the loosening up of a strict regimented non stop schedule. Its time to sit back and indulge in cocktails (sometimes before 5), lobster rolls and beach days. Of course mixed in with work as life doesn’t stop but taking more time to chill. Summer almost feels like a “temporary free pass” to take extra time off and relax a bit more than we might other seasons. How about you? What does summer mean to you?

And that my friends is a wrap. Hope you enjoyed this post. Wishing everyone a Happy Easter and a happy Sunday.

Always love to hear from you and happy you make me a part of your Sunday every weekend morning. Until next time…….

AS OF MONDAY MORNING- Brand new flash sale on the most exquisite line of brass/crystal lamps. You will not find  more beautiful lamps! Click here to view

The making of a sunroom……

Hello and hope you are doing well on this fine spring day. So excited to bring you this post! I feel a definite pep in my step now that I can walk out of the house without a jacket and scarf. Forgot just how good it feels! Plus waking up the birds chirping is a sure and welcome sign:)

I recently finished a sunroom that came out so beautiful, I could have moved right in. It was something that was done for a concept house and there was a really short window in which to complete it, what can I say….I work well under pressure! Of course I brought my signature blue and white to the mix as the room just called for it.

I wanted it to be light, airy and welcoming. The beautiful painted brick walls were a wonderful compliment and added a nice touch of texture. Got the beautiful and so affordable furniture from Decor Market which included the elegant sofas, gorgeous pale blue console and one of my favorite coffee tables of all time.

Everything else is from me, it was a great opportunity for me to showoff  some of my favorite things. I loved it so much I even had an ad made, which will be used down the road. So here it is!!  First a look at “behind the scenes” and then at the end is the big reveal of the professional pictures (and my ad).

Here is a “behind the scenes” as this room came together-

This is the space, a pretty painted brick wall and the big windows with the trellis mullions were a naturally pretty starting point

The lighting had to go!

First step was bringing in this fabulous indoor/outdoor rug from Decor Market,  so love it and think I may use this very rug in PB

Many have emailed me about his rug here is the link-

http://decormarket.com/safavieh-four-seasons-rug-frs244m.html

Added one of my favorite coffee tables (can you believe only around $800), also from Decor Market, so chic and stylish

Comfortable classic looking English arm sofas being delivered ( from Decor Market) and we are starting to have a room!

It was the perfect place to add my blue/white bamboo lantern

The very first thing I chose was this beautiful blue. painted French looking chest (Decor Market). It was a beautiful starting point, and from here everything else came together quite effortlessly….

The “ingredients” in a holding pattern

A trusty helper hanging the brackets

And the brackets are up with my mid sized pagodas

How beautiful are these pillows! From Studio Tullia (except the middle one is part of my own collection)

Hard to believe this planter is from my faux stone line and the orchids are too! This arrangement came out so pretty, I am going to add it to my own home very soon:)

I swear my backseat needs its own reality show…you never know what you will find there!

Console looking good because let’s face it blue and white makes everything look pretty:)

LOVE the Provence planters filled with fresh palms, the picture of elegance!

THE BEST PART! So are you  ready to see the beautiful professional pictures, and let’s face it, nothing can hold a candle next to those. Rest your eyes on these gorgeous pictures…….

And here is my ad-

SOURCES-

Sofa, rug, coffee table and blue painted console are all from Decor Market

With spring officially here though it doesn’t totally feel like it, I have flowers on my mind. Make no mistake I am a huge fan of some of my faux, as they are really really good but fresh flowers are just something I cannot live without. So every now and then as I did a few weeks ago, I take a trip into the city to play florist for the day and delve into the hustle and bustle of the NY flower district. I have a few favorite stops, Associated Cut Florals, Dutchline and a few others.

This time around I didn’t pick up a lot as I had no occasion other than to convince myself spring is here and that is reason enough to bring flowers into the house. What can I say…they just make me really happy. I do have a luncheon coming up in about a month so plan on heading back to pick up flowers for that special day…of course will be sharing it with you. In the meantime, here is a recap on my recent visit with an equally flower obsessed friend….

Here are some of the quick pics I took while surveying the offerings that morning (the district opens super early around 5am and closes by about 11-12). It’s a very early and very short day. So many beautiful things to choose from……

Wouldn’t these make a fabulous arrangement in  blue and white jar?

Tulips of every variety and color over at Associated Cut Florals, they are always my go to for tulips

You can always count on major creativity and inspiration in the flower district as seen above

Love the way Dutch Flower Line always displays their daily selections

Greenery galore

Loved this elegant triple boxwoods standing like little soldiers outside one shop

Orchids for miles…..

These stunning hydrangeas took my breath away

I must say these beautiful sprigs of greenery got me dreaming, love the eucalyptus and variegated variety below…could make one gorgeous centerpiece!

Getting home is always the icing on the cake. I love going over what I bought and gathering all my little vases and pieces in which I will display them. Since there was no special occasion this time around, I just made up smaller arrangement’s and played around. Best kind of play as far as I am concerned:)

Then I give them each stem a nice little trim and start filling my vases with water, let the fun begin!

Tulips are one of my faves and these babies wasted no time in showing their spunk and going in every direction, which to me is the beauty of tulips

The white rannuculus is a very long lasting flower with a beautiful layered petal effect, such a pretty and romantic flower…..

TRICK OF THE TRADE- Hardly that I am in the floral trade but I have a trick or two up my sleeve and have used this little trick always very successfully. When the cherry blossoms started to dry up, I kept the stems and added about 8-10 stems (these jars are very large)  of my really good faux cherry blossoms and voila! my beautiful arrangement has had a rebirth. I have done this with orchids, hydrangeas, etc…and in fact going to do a designated post on this very subject in the near future. Left jar is the one that has been added to-

So here is a picture of them on their last leg but still looking pretty sans lots of flowers-

Then to the left I added about 8-10 of my faux pink cherry blossoms and voila! Look at the difference from left to right, my two week arrangement suddenly has had a rebirth!

Enjoy this post? Do flowers excite you as much as they do me? I am lucky to have a flower market so close, the only downside are the  inevitable traffic jams I always hit going to and from, so a quick jaunt quickly becomes almost an all day affair. But, it’s worth it, especially if one is having an event or party…..

Thanks for stopping in. Wishing you a wonderful day and hope spring has sprung wherever you might be:) Until next time…..

Seven on Sunday

Hello friends! I prepared this ahead of time, hope it behaves and posts on Sunday morning as it is supposed to. By the time you are reading this I will have been in one my most favorite places, Palmetto Bluff,  then onto to see friends elsewhere for a birthday celebration.

Hope you are enjoying a great and hopefully springy like weekend. Though it was not a very harsh winter, it felt like a loooooong winter. I am so ready to welcome that warm spring air and fresh cut green grass! Here we go with my Seven on Sunday-

1 NEW PRODUCTS I AM EXCITED ABOUT! I had bought a flatware service similar to this below years ago and so love the set and regretting that I did not but more, was disappointed when I could not find them again. I cannot tell you how many people have emailed me on where to find them.

So……an idea was born, I would recreate them! And I did! Love this pattern and these along with the others I featured not long ago will all be in production by next week. With luck I will have them in early to mid May. Stay tuned as I will be doing an early presale to help me gauge my numbers…..

In addition to the other flatware styles I showed you, this one above will be offered as a five piece place setting along with salad servers and serving spoons/forks.

GORGEOUS new tole pieces coming in late April, can I say they are just getting better and better, and seeing how each piece is handpainted…..makes them really special:) Already plotting where I can use a few of these:)

Fabulous new blue/white lamps

More stunning bamboo lanterns coming this way soon!

2. AMAL CLOONEY…….ONE IMPRESSIVE LADY The more I read about her the more I like and respect her. You may have seen her making the rounds lately on her latest cause…she is a complete breath of fresh air in the sometimes ridiculous world of Hollywood, a wonderful humanitarian and an inspiration to all women.

She has taken on what many see as an epidemic, the genocide being inflicted upon countless innocent civilians on The Yazidis. It is unimaginable and reading this story gave me chills…..it is hard to imagine that just a plane ride away, lives such brutality, such evil.

I really respect the attention she is giving this plight and of course also love that as a women with tremendous reach and power, she is highlighting a dire situation beyond comprehension that simply should not be. Read the entire article here.

3. FUN EARRINGS FOR THE SUMMER . I love wearing fun earrings in the summer, they go with the easy breeze lighter clothes, and fun summery styles. The bon bon earrings have become such a huge hit, and the best part is they are as light as a feather. Found these at Bitz of Glitz…very very cute! Click here to see more

4. CHICKEN THAT IS FINGER LICKING GOOD I made Ina Garten’s Tuscan Lemon Chicken and can attest to the fact that it’s one of the best chicken dishes I have ever eaten AND its diet friendly so big points for that.

I grilled vegetables on the side, had a big salad and the chicken…it was a very satisfying dinner with leftovers! This is honestly as good cold as it is off the grill and is a summer staple in my home. Click here for the recipe

5. INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST Everything today is so pretty….very springy. And why not, we have waited a long long time to celebrate the arrival of spring.

These pictures make me want to go and open my windows and let the sunshine in, but then I look outside and still see dark, crusted, icy snow. A reminder that winter is still kinda here so these pictures will have to suffice for now:)

6. A VERY EXCITING PROJECT. I have a few really exciting projects going on…..makes me happy:) But this one in particular really makes is getting my creative party juices flowing.

I was hired to help someone with  a large scaled June rehearsal dinner in sunny Florida at a private club…and she chose wisely because she is doing an all blue and white theme!! Here is one of the concept boards we are came up with…going to be F A B U L O U S!!! We just finalized all the pieces for the tables and bar area (some are below) and now working on flowers. Silver lining here- she is going to have one stunning blue and white collection after this party!

Will be sure to share with you some of the “after” pictures when the party takes place in June!

7 SUNDAYS SURVEY I have a friend who is selling her home and buying a new one. She is considering going with a totally new look and I mean totally starting from scratch. Her old home was a bit old fashioned traditional, many beautiful things but some of it appeared dated. She is thinking she wants to go with a clean/crisp transitional aesthetic that is so big right now. Her husband is not so sure but is allowing her to make this decision. The thing is she wants to have a tag sale and get rid of everything and I mean everything. She wants to only leave with her personal possessions and start anew.

We have been talking a lot about this big change and it got me thinking….if you could would you totally redo everything you have? Can you imagine leaving every item you own (furniture wise) behind? I personally am very attached to a number of my things and many have a story that makes them extra sentimental.  I get it…these are just things however they are things that I love and have meaning to me. I know I could not leave it all behind but apparently many can and do.

So, could you and would you? Curious as to what you think…..

That wraps up my Seven on Sunday this week. How about you? Anything exciting happening on your end? I always love hearing from you, so feel free to chime into the conversation. Hope you are enjoying a fabulous weekend. Until next time…

Random musings as seen through my iPhone….

Hello and happy Saturday. Woke up to no snow, that’s always a good thing.  I really hope that winter is finally done and spring can usher it’s way in once and for all. With a lot of snow presently on the ground it just doesn’t feel like spring is going to really be here on Monday. The daffodils a week ago when it was 60 started coming up and now are covered in frozen snow:(

Today is the last day of the porcelain presale so be sure to stop by and check it out if you haven’t already. Its been so well received and the response has been phenomenal, always so great to know there are so many fellow blue and white addicts:)  Plus there is a great giveaway and today is the last day to enter! Click here to view

As I periodically do,  I share with you snippets of my life from the last week or so..of course the good, pretty and inspiring only! So without further ado here we go…..

Went to one of my happy places aka “New York flower district” and came home with some beauties…..

Enjoyed a wonderful meal with a great friend at Le Coucou in NYC, fabulous!!

These black beauties are heading to a rooftop apartment in Boston where they are going to plant them with large boxwood balls, so classic

It might feel still very much like winter outside, but indoors it’s all about spring and flowers!!

Upstairs hall got a little sprcueup

A pretty corner in my bedroom….the soft colors are so soothing, it’s my private little sanctuary

So loving these beautiful trims and fabrics we just decided on for a clients family room…cannot wait to see it done!

Awwwh….Teddy got a special little friend as a gift and loves his new furry friend

LOVE working on gorgeous trims and for this client, her new pillows are going to be out of this world!

This is how we do St. Patty’s day in our office….green gorgeouness overload! How amazing are the pillows above that I had made for a client, is that ginger jar tape not the greatest thing ever!

So there you have it, all the good stuff from this past week. Hope you enjoyed, thank you as always for stopping in. Wishing you a wonderful Saturday and an enjoyable weekend! Until next time…..
