The one day Chinoiserie tole and Provence planter arrival sale is on!

Hello friends and happy Monday, afternoon, always a happy day when a new container of goodies arrives! Posting later in the afternoon for my west coast customers…. The chinoiserie tole has come in and I must say this is my favorite tole delivery yet, I want to take home one of everything…and rest assured my trunk will be full today.

Getting to design my own line of tole has been a dream that I have been lucky enough to get to do several times and counting.. I cannot tell you how much I enjoy the process and getting to share these beautiful pieces with you and , putting them in my own home is the icing on the cake! This part of what I do is enormously gratifying beyond words.

As I do with every shipment, each container upon arrival has a one day sale. This is your last chance to snag any of these beauties before they go online.

One of the biggest benefits to you as the customer is that now that I directly import many of my items, the prices are unheard of. I  have people often asking me how I can sell them at what I do….these items are many hundreds more than what they are here, so the values are astounding as they are with my porcelains and silver.

Bringing back some sold out pieces (all the bathroom accessories and Provence planters) and introducing a few new gorgeous lamps, trays and much requested….obelisks.

Perfect timing especially for the very popular Provence planters, just in time for spring planting! Here is a look at the beautiful items being HAND PAINTED……

ITEM 8. It’s raining Provence planters, got a large quantity in anticipation of the spring planing season. Super excited to be welcoming a big batch of Provence planters back. These sold out right away and with good reason. They are not only incredibly beautiful but a mere fraction of what they are sold for in the few exclusives places that carry them. These are the picture of timeless elegance and are amazing indoors and out.

Just planted my own…

They have four small drainage holes and are treated with a weather resistant paint. I do however recommend taking an extra step and using a product like Rustoleum’s anti rust galvanizing spray, had a handyman get it and apply to the planters.  Here thy are just after being dried and getting ready for the final stage, the acorn finials-

These are simply exquisite with boxwoods or any kind of topiary…cannot wait to use mine!

All four sizes are coming back-

Small 21″ x 18″ x 18″ (the 21″ H includes the 3″ finial) available in pale blue, ivory and black $355.00

Seven on Sunday

Good Sunday morning to you. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Here the sun and beautiful skies have come out after a few dreary, rainy and cold days.  I have a full weekend planned and setting up for a luncheon I am hosting this week so plenty to keep me busy today. Here we go with my Seven on Sunday-

1 SHUTTER COLOR IS DECIDED!! Thanks to all who chimed in about my shutter paint color last week. I hemmed and hawed and something about my final choices was not quite right. So…….I kept on trucking and knew I would find just the right color.

It had come down to Silvermist or Nimbus Gray but I wanted something with a tinge more blue and a bit less gray.  Yes my husband thought I had lost it with the amount of time I was putting into it and yes, my persistence paid off.

I found “the one”. And  am100% sure about it. I even love the name, Nantucket Fog. As I started to do some research, it appears this is also a favorite of many designers. Here you go…..

And here it is on a piece of wood to get an idea of how it will look on a shutter, love it! Its a true blue/gray a little deeper than some of the others but I took. many’s advice about the strong fading sun and think this has just enough contrast.

2.THE MOST BEAUTIFUL DENTAL OFFICE Oh my…I have never seen such a chic dental office..have you? Mine sure does not look like this, this is downright dreamy!! Summer Thornton is the mastermind behind this beautiful office, incredible!!

I always have said if I owned a traditional office like a doctors office (or dental) that I would really work to make it feel like an upscale private home and that is exactly what she did…..brava to her!

Click here to see this incredible space and others.

3 OFF SHOULDER TOPS Loving this new style…so fresh and pretty, and they just scream chic summer dressing. I had to give in and buy a few to jumpstart my summer wardrobe. You dont’ have to wear them completely off the shoulder but these are all beautiful looks for warm weather dressing.

Ordered this, it is so darling and I thought the price was a mistake, $35.00 really? Click here

Got this a few weeks ago, love this color!!! A beautiful top dressed up or down. Click here

Love navy and white together and this simple navy peasant blouse is not only so reasonable but makes dressing a cinch, click here

Considering this one, love pink and with white slacks would be perfect for a daytime or even evening outing.  So delicate and feminine…beautiful! I have a few showers coming up and this would be perfect. Click here

4 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST. No theme in particular this weekend,  just a random group of fabulousness! You can see I had a hard time this week narrowing it down…..

My fave of this week is this gorgeous picture….it is a sure sign of a very devoted Enchanted Home customer!

5. FABULOUS PILLOWS. I have worked with Studio Tullia. and my backyard and patios in the summer are a testament to just how much I love their pillows!

Some of the new arrivals from Studio Tullia have me swooning and daydreaming about a little tweaking of my very own:) Click here to see more…

6. PROVENCE PLANTER MAKEOVER! So with the planting season on our doorstep, lots of us are starting to think about coming out of hibernation and the great outdoors. Of course that means sprucing up our patios and of the first impression people get….our front doors!

So happy the Provence planters are coming back in about 2 weeks! I love giving “Provence planter makeovers”. This is a recent one when a customer needed some direction on her front door. A beautiful home that deserved an equally beautiful front door welcome. The planters presently there were way too small and actually dwarfed everything around it. When it doubt go a little bigger, not smaller.

She wasn’t sure about the color Provence planter she wanted, but we both decided black was the way to go. So stately and elegant, and it accents her black shutters beautifully. Take a look at the mini Provence planter makeover-

And even tried using two smaller Provence planters by the front door…..

7. SUNDAY’S SURVEY The other day I had forgotten my phone aka my lifeline. I was heading to an appt. and already running late,  had no time to go back and get it and felt the anxiety rising in me about not being reachable. The shock and awe of realizing I had left it behind was telling:)  I contemplated turning around but didn’t because it would have delayed me and I couldn’t be late.

So the strangest thing happened, I went to my appt. anxiety and all, then ran a few errand afterwards and you know what? I LOVED the freedom it gave me,  I also loved the idea of unplugging (a happy accident) and taking in everything around me instead of hearing the beeps and rings go off and being distracted by my phone as is often the case.

There was something incredibly freeing about it and I really enjoyed the 3 hours or so that I didn’t have my phone. Make no mistake when I got back it looked like a mini airplane terminal with all the sights, sounds and lights going off at once from various people trying to reach me (and that includes solicitors). But I realized not only can I live without it but I actually liked being without it. And vowed to start doing this on a regular basis. Even if for an hour, it is good for mind, body and soul.

What do you think? Do you regularly “unplug” or is it just unimaginable? I will be curious to see what you have to say on the matter……

That’s a wrap, thanks as always for stopping by. Tomorrow is delivery day of the huge container of porcelains, that is always an exciting day! Wishing you a wonderful day and a great end to your weekend!:) Until next time….

Random musings as seen through my iPhone

Hello! Hope you are well and that your week is off ot a great start. Started my week with  a fun birthday dinner  with a group of treasured friends (hi girls)! We have vowed to do that until we are old and gray…..what would we do without our circle of friends! It was a very nice break to come up for air from the “ginger jar ornament universe” I have been living in the last two weeks:)

We have gotten thousands of ornaments out to their lucky recipients and finally we are on the last batch, major cause for celebration:) That is……until the next shipment arrives with more blue and white and the colored versions sometime mid-late Nov. There will be one final presale on them for the many of you who have asked in a week or two.

As I periodically do, I share with you recent happenings in my life seen through my trusty little iPhone. So without further ado here we go…….

Absolutely loved wrapping my first (and only gifts) so far of the season with my little ornaments as adornments- really takes the gift presentation up a notch

And so enjoying the way my office is coming along,  work in progress, still need to finish the paint, hang prints, etc….

How gorgeous are these! They shipped yesterday to a very lucky client

Went to a local Japanese very authentic sushi restaurant, Yamaguchi….so good!

Experimented with the square tray from my site as a charger and love it so much that they are now on order!

My “ochidirmary” which I have dubbed because my laundry room is a makeshift intensive care unit for my flowers:) This middle orchid is being discharged and by it’s side are two new patients

Cant’ get enough of these and I see visions of ginger jars dancing in my head at night:)

The gray paint is a goner…yay!

Love coming home every day to this sleeping beauty

Love the explosion of color all around us

Aren’t these amazing! Handpainted chinoiserie custom butterfly pillows for  a lucky NYC client

Smitten with my new office chair:)

I will do what it takes to get my kids home, lured my oldest son home from the city with a homemade carrot cake:)

Starting to add magnolia throughout my house, love it during the holidays

Another gift which I couldn’t resist using a ginger jar ornament on

A serious perk of fall…..getting to bring out my old favorite classics!

Pretty gifts out the door to a special friends birthday

And this picture metaphorically means a lot to me…one day I was rushing like a madwoman, had a list a mile long and was highly anxious over getting it all done. Raced to meet someone then zipping back to the office, I was forced to stop and do nothing when this very large group of geese meandered ever so slowly in front of my car across the street.

They even paused to take it all in as they sauntered from one side of the street to the other…..they reminded me to stop and relax and that the world will not stop spinning if I get to where I am going a few minutes late…thanks guys:) This visual will stay with me a long time.

And that friends, sums up whats new around here at least the pretty, fun fluff as I like to call it. Back to the grind, hope you are having a wonderful week, enjoying this gorgeous fall,  I love the season but must admit not really looking forward to winter except for that very first snowfall which is always just magical.

Thank you as always for stopping in, love to hear from you. Until next time….

PS Just starting today (email going out tomorrow so you are getting a heads up) – a presale on the next batch of GORGEOUS Provence metal planters. Get your size and color at a special presale price. Click here for all the details.

The winner of Fall Love, shop news and a giveaway!

Hi friends, I am thrilled to announce the winner of my annual Fall Love contest….this was a battle royale as both of the finalists were just exquisite. But only one could be crowned a winner and what a winning shot it is! Congratulations to-

Gayle who submitted this gorgeous fall picture-

And an honorable mention to Phyllis who submitted this picture and came in awfully close (this was a very tight race)-

Gayle, I  will be in contact so that your wonderful stone pumpkin will be on it’s way. Hopefully the pumpkin will be an annual reminder of your victory over here at The Enchanted Home. Thank you all again for participating and voting….a new contest Holiday Love will be announced in November:)

Moving along….

As I periodically do I share with you what is happening on the shop front. Now that an official office is in place at the warehouse, an 800 number is being established, things are really starting to move along, in a very exciting way.

I value your feedback and opinions more than you can imagine and feel so lucky to have a sounding board from all over the world….that is priceless! And to thank you for your input and participation in a few mini polls below I am offering two great prizes to two lucky winners (details on bottom).

I will be offering weekly or bi weekly promos up until Christmas. Plus about to have a big warehouse blowout on things that were either found or that we hare on only 1 or 2 left of…always some great finds!

Many exciting new personal accessories on the horizon as well, lots of goodies heading this way. So here is whats new and exciting, can’t wait to see what you have to say-

PROVENCE PLANTERS. These were suffice to say a major hit, I was only upset that I had to give up the ones I had put aside for myself for an order, but this time around I am ordering my own little stash:) A new order is in the works and will be here late Dec/early Jan. I would love your input on a few colors I am considering.

I am now accepting presale orders for the December container.  The finials will now be sent in a separate small box and will be screwed onto the base (avoids breakage risk).

The benefits of ordering now? You get the color size you want plus you lock in this super low presale price, these are an exceptional deal considering they sell for thousands.  They will be 15-20% higher when they arrive in Dec. Plus think of how fun it will be in the dead of winter when you see the big brown truck pull up with great big brown boxes:)

Would love your take on planter colors-

SILVER I must say I so love my silver…I put it to good use and have it all over. It is even more beautiful in person and I smile everything I get an email from someone over the moon with their shipment.

Seeing is believing in this case:) I have found a fantastic manufacturer whose attention to detail is spot on. I have a few new mint juleps en route as we speak, perfect timing with the holidays. Acorns and equestrian….how pretty are these!!

I experimented with this square tray and it looks incredible as a charger, if I can get the price right…what do you think of having it made as a charger? Chargers are a consistently popular item. Would love your take on these-

CHINOISERIE TOLE Another obsession of mine:) Excited to get the bamboo lanterns and gorgeous new lamps in, in a few weeks. A presale is going to be offered on these beauties next week. Already have a few places in my home waiting for some of these!

Working on an order to arrive in later January. The mirrors turned out to be a great call and I am placing a reordered on them. The black is  no brainer and always popular. I am going to be offering a smaller style mirror as well.

The classic bamboo lantern is coming in as a smaller size as well, 24″ and offering a new color, navy w/gold-

Seven on Sunday

Hello and happy Sunday to you! First order of business is to announce the lucky winner of the beautiful cashmere scarf from Last Call. Congrats goes to

Please contact me at so that your lovely prize can be on it’s way!

Hope you are having a great weekend… the foliage is exploding and it is so gorgeous. This is most definitely my favorite time of year. My college son is home this weekend which is a great treat, though I have seen him literally for all of maybe 45 min,  such is the life of a busy, social college aged kid. I get it, I was 21 once:)

But when he is getting ready to GO OUT to a party in the city that STARTS at 11 at night…..I had a secretive little smile on my face as I sat cozy in my pjs in my comfy bed that I was so happy it’s him and not me. I like a nice evening out but I start turning into a pumpkin BY 11:) Moving on……

1 MY NEW OFFICE IN THE WORKS! So I have been very busy setting up an “official” Enchanted Home office at my warehouse space. It is about a 2400 sq foot space divided into rooms with one large room, which was a sad looking storage room.

It was high time to set a proper office up at the warehouse since I was going back and forth sometimes twice in one day. Especially now that the new site will soon be up with get this…….an 800 number (after many have asked for one)! Good things are happening over here. It is still very much a work in progress but definitely really coming along-

This board exemplifies the look I am after. My workspace  is very important to me, it has to be clean, crisp and happy.  Will be sure to share pics when its all done and painted! Here is a mood board I had created about the vibe I am after, and so far it’s coming along much like I had hoped-

So here is a very disheveled “before”- it is one long rather ugly boring room. There is  a hallway which leads to other smaller rooms which is where we store everything, this was a storage room that is being converted to the office aka world headquarters for Enchanted Home:)

Cleared it out…..can’t wait to rip up that boring brown carpet

And looky what I found, can’t believe this is commercial carpet!

Night and day! Looks brighter already, paint being  done in a few days

And here is a in progress shot, new desks got delivered and blue and whites started being put out, I will feature the completed before and after when done in about a week or so-

2.WHY DON’T THESE TYPES OF  STORIES MAKE IT TO  FRONT PAGE? We know within seconds when there is any kind of Kardashian drama or when something big is going down with one of our presidential nominees, when the latest Hollywood divorce is unraveling, but we rarely hear about those stories that embody basic, good humanity, the “feel good” stories that we all long and need to hear about. This is Hollywood at it’s finest.

Here is one recent such story that we should ALL know about and the media should talk about (thanks Dad)-

Denzel Washington and Brooks
Army Medical Center.
Don’t know whether you heard about this but
Denzel Washington and his family visited the troops at Brooks Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas,(BAMC) the other day. This
is where soldiers who have been evacuated
from Germany come to be hospitalized in
the United States , especially burn victims.
There are some buildings there called
Fisher Houses. The Fisher House is a hotel
where soldiers’ families can stay, for little
or no charge, while their soldier is in the hospital. BAMC has quite a few of
these houses on base, but as you can imagine, they are almost filled most of the time.
While Denzel Washington was visiting
BAMC, they gave him a tour of one of
the Fisher Houses.
He asked how much one
of them would cost to build. He took his checkbook out and wrote a check for the
full amount right there on the spot.
The soldiers overseas were amazed to hear
this story and want to get the word out to the American public, because it warmed
their hearts to hear it.
The question is, ‘Why do:
Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Tom Cruise
and other Hollywood fluff
make front page news with their ridiculous antics, and
Denzel Washington’s Patriotism doesn’t even make page 3 in the Metro
section of any newspaper except the
local newspaper in San Antonio ?’

3. A WONDERFUL NEW BLOG. I got an email from a newer blogger who experienced some of the same trepidation and uncertainty that I did when I started blogging. You wonder who will ever find me? How? Will they even like me?  I can relate from when I started blogging, as it can be daunting with a sprinkle of excitement for sure.

I want to introduce you to Elizabeth of  Ellie and Elizabeth.  Her home is beautiful and she has a love of design as so many of us do. Plus I got a few great ideas from her wise kitchen storage. Here is a peak below, click ere to visit and say hello to over at Ellie and Elizabeth.

7. SUNDAY’S SURVEY. On the subject of media,  there is a lot of talk lately about the media being rigged and bias. I have my own definite feelings about the media and of course there are a few factors that would potentially affect how one looks at it. What media you are listening to- there are those diehard right wing and left wing media outlets and they are both masters at selling one story or another with a very specific angle.

And of course how you look at the media largely depends upon your personal views and how much what they say shapes what you feel. It is interesting and never,  especially with social media has media as a whole infiltrated our lives as they do now. On one hand I love the immediate access to breaking news all around the world, on the other I think it’s gone too far and often crossed lines.

I also have seen a HUGE shift in how anchors personalize the very stories they report on. It’s not difficult to see where they stand and that bothers me. I want balanced, fair objective news not a personal narrative….they need to get off their soapbox!! BBC is one that I have found so far to be the most balanced.

So as I always love to hear your take, its your turn to weight on the media in our lives-

And that friends is a wrap! Hope you enjoyed the post, anything excite or resonate with you? It is coooold here today, a great excuse to bring out my favorite cashmere sweaters and cozy jackets,  bring on the boots! Wishing you a wonderful and relaxing Sunday. Today for me, it is all about total relaxation and doing exactly what I please:) Until next time…..

Random musings as seen through my iPhone….

Hi there! Coming up for air after practically drowning in boxes and 90 degree +  temps at the warehouse. NOT a great time to lose a warehouse manager…..yours truly has been burning the midnight oil to get the many many orders out the door. We are 80% done with presales and expect everything to have shipped by Monday (in case you are waiting)….its been a fast and furious process.

Plus just put the finishing touches on the next porcelain container, as this last one was heavy on fishbowls…this next one is filled to the brim with vases, ginger jars and tons of smaller blue and white pieces (thinking about the holidays not so far away). This will be one of my last two containers of 2016. I will get another in early November…stay tuned.

As I periodically do I share with you snippets of my life from recent weeks. If it was just on this week, trust me it would be of sweltering temps and boxes of porcelain..not that glamorous however in recent weeks, my beach time pictures are perfect material! So here is what has been happening in my life the last weeks….

So friends that is whats up in my corner of the world…and how about you? What is happening on your end? Hope your summer is going well, and that you are getting to enjoy  necessary downtime, as we all need to unplug from time to time. It makes such a huge difference when I am able to get away and then come back recharged and this week more than ever I really needed it!

The response to my planters and ornaments presale has been phenomenal, guess there will lots of blue and white going on this Christmas! And I am counting down the days for the planters to arrive…..have just the spot for them:) The presale is on until tomorrow night. Click here for the lowdown and be sure to enter the giveaway!

Seven on Sunday

The porcelain container arrived! For anyone who placed a presale order in May, those orders are starting to go out tomorrow and will continue through the week:)

Hello friends! Hope you are enjoying a  beautiful weekend, here its hot, hot hot. I was back home for a few days after being in Montauk and then came back out yesterday.  Could not ignore the allure of the beach and almost always breezy Montauk during a heart wave:) Nothing like being at the beach with the waves crashing at your feet, plus  I cannot think of anywhere I would rather be than by the ocean….total bliss.

Heading back first thing in the morning and won’t get much beach time this week as the second part of the container came Friday so tomorrow will be spent unloading/organizing and then starting to ship out orders.  It is a very busy work week ahead so enjoying my downtime and mustering up all my energy.  Moving along to the fun stuff…..

Here we go with my Seven on Sunday…

1 ONE GORGEOUS PARTY! Cannot believe I missed this! The minute I saw just a snippet of this party from my friends iPhone,  I knew I had to investigate. Then I find out its a party we were invited to, a fundraiser for  God’s Love We Deliver.  Just for the decor alone, it would have been worth it, but then its such a wonderful cause…bummer.

So from a variety of sources I found these most gorgeous pictures….this is right up my alley! All that blue and white against the rich, lush green just takes me breath away. Getting ideas for one of my sons future weddings…or maybe I should consider renewing my vows:)

2. INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST So much beauty today, some reflecting the joys of summer, beautiful food to stylish interiors, there is a little bit of everything-

This nursery sent me over the edge, this is exactly how I always envisioned a beautiful nursery to be….perfection!

3. HAMPTONS HIGHLIGHTS. I love to include highlights from my beach time. Such simple but fulfilling pleasures….doesn’t get better,  at least not to me. And it sure reminds me how important it is to take time out to take care of yourself and to disconnect even for a little bit. Makes all the difference in the world when you give yourself time to “recharge” , add sunshine, the beach and farmstands……it’s the trifecta of happiness.

Loved hitting the Montauk farmers markets with a few friends-

4. INCREDIBLE EXCITING NEW ENCHANTED HOME GOODIES.  I am BEYOND excited about the Christmas ornaments and the Provence planters, they are really coming along and are officially in production…..woo hoo!

Many of you have asked about them, I will be holding a 3 day presale on both the ornaments and planters this coming week. I will have both of these by mid Sept.

Just loving how these planters have turned out, and cannot wait for my own little stash:) They will be offered in white, black and a pale blue/gray. During the presale however there will be the opportunity to custom order a specific color you  might have in mind. As you know these are thousands…you still be floored by what I will be offering them for, trust me:) Here is an “in progress” peek-

inasfdadex indexfd ifdfdndex

5. And the gorgeous Christmas ornaments are in production as we speak and you can look for a  presale on them this coming week (as many of you have asked). Very excited about decorating a blue and white tree:) This was something I have dreamed about for over a year and for it to finally be coming to fruition is just thrilling.

This is a sample of what is to come, there will be 5-6 different ball styles in 4″ and 5″. Four different pagodas 4″ and 5″ and 6 different ginger jar styles 4″ and 5″. They will be sold in 4″s and a bulk discount will be offered for orders of 36 or more. Stay tuned, the presale will be posted probably on Wed. Excited about these!!

6.  ROBERTA ROLLER RABBIT Are you familiar with this brand? It is one of my all time faves for super comfy, soft cotton beachy robes, pjs, casual summer tunics and small accessories like travel bags. I love the prints, they just make me happy and of course I am particularly fond of the blues! There is a great sale happening which I took advantage of last week while in East Hampton…..I live in these robes and pjs. Click here to visit.

7. A RECIPE WORTH SHARING. I came home from a visit to one of my favorite local farm stands feeling unusually inspired. Plus I had this new lemon olive oil which I HIGHLY recommend, click here to see.

Helped myself to a glass of Rose,  channeled my “inner Ina” and at the sake of sounding like I am being a braggart made a pasta that frankly  I will put on the record is one of the best I have ever had, yes it was that good!

Very excited to share it with you, I only snapped a few quick pics with my iPhone as I didn’t make a huge batch (made it for my hubs) and my son was eyeballing it from afar so I had to act quick. Best part? Easy! Just a few key ingredients….

Fresh basil, vine ripe tomatoes and lemon infused olive oil is a great starting point!

Friend brought me this excellent Rose to Montauk, so good I will be buying it again.

And a few quick closeups

FullSizeRender-2 FullSizeRender-1

What you need-

Lemon infused olive oil

lots of garlic (( used about 8-10 average sized cloves)

Big cluster of fresh basil

6 med or 3 large very ripe tomatoes

1 med or 2 small baby eggplant

Pasta (thin spaghetti or whatever you prefer)

Fresh Parmesan

So in a skillet I heated up the lemon olive oil with the garlic cloves (did not chop), cut the eggplant into small cubes (about the size of dice) and sauteed for about 10-15 min.

Put it aside and added more olive oil and sauteed the tomatoes with about 14 basil leaves (cut up). Meanwhile in a large pot boil the pasta until its very al dente (it will continue to cook a bit even after removed from water).

I also made a small salad of mixed greens, cucumber, ripe tomatoes, avocado, squeezed the juice of one lemon and added a drizzle of the lemon olive oil and pinch of sea salt and pepper…yum!

Saute the eggplant and tomato mixture and season with sea salt and pepper. Add the cooked pasta to the mixture and mix well. Add fresh Parmesan on top and about a tablespoon of freshly chopped basil. If you are feeling very decadent add a few slices of crusty Tuscan bread and enjoy…..

OK now I am hungry:)  Hope you enjoyed the post….anything here excite or delight you? Hope you are having a wonderful and relaxing weekend, thanks for stopping in. Until next time…..

Bluff Diaries- Chapter 5

Hello! So here I am with another round of Bluff Diaries and some good news. The first two rounds of plan submissions got approved so we are well on our way. The plans are being submitted as I speak to the two builders we have narrowed it down to, landscape architect has been hired and things are rolling.

We are totally done with the interior plan so thought it would be fun to share it with you since I know many of you enjoy that kind of thing. We are still putting the finishing touches on the exterior. It’s a great plan in my opinion in that it is open living, love the wide front porches (especially the back) and there is room for everyone. Sure makes me realize that when a house is laid out properly you don’t need a ginormous home. I have a feeling we are going to really love living in this house.

1st floor-

Today I want to divert a bit from the interiors (which is of course the most fun part) to the exterior. As we winnow down the process, we are having to think and submit our color choices to the board. I have a vision of a creamy white house with pale blue/gray shutters. The aluminum roofs are de rigueur down there and they happen to look really good. Occasionally you will see a wood shingle room which I also like.

We wanted to preserve the integrity of the true “low country” style while adding just a touch of Hamptons to it. I love a look of long windows with shutters, so pretty. As I start thinking more seriously about a lot of the  exterior features, I think I pretty much know what I am after. Today is all about my inspiration for the exterior, let’s go….

This house above is a great example of the color scheme I envision for our future home,Home Bunch

This is a beautiful color for shutters, Silver Gray by Benjamin Moore

Another great example, love this! Belclaire House

Really love the detailing on this house above, that railing!!!

This is an example of the metal roofs that are so popular, like this color, Southern Living

Isn’t this one fabulous front porch?

Wood Shingle of wood siding….to be determined, have seen beautiful examples of both-

This color light gray is what I am thinking for the roof-

Madly in love with these carriage garage doors (painted in my colors of course) , if they can work with the budget, I would do these in a heartbeat!

Another great example above

Another beautiful color

And you know gas lanterns are an absolute must! Bevolo

Another beauty, Carolina Lanterns

Who knew there are so many different shutter styles! Think I lean towards the raised panel or flat panel, a cleaner look

LOVE this, this color is Dior Gray from B.Moore, this home is from Jack Arnold, did my research:)

This beauty top and bottom is from the showhouse a few years back (when I first discovered Palmetto Bluff) these colors pretty much sum up what I am thinking…..

Love the idea of either light herringbone brick or peacock pavers for the back porch-

Kind of moving onto the “fluff” but surely the most fun part……I see two gorgeous  benches like these with some pretty pillows for the front porch, first impressions are everything! And down south a front porch is the first chance to make a great first impression.

Something along this line-

Want to see how I can envision the front porch? Take a look….

OB-pbluff front

So that sums up in a nutshell what I am envisioning for the exterior details..of course there is much more to come but this is an overview. As we tweak the outside elevations, we are moving forward and my fingers are crossed that we will sign with a builder very soon and get this show on the road!!

If you missed the other “chapter”s on the top right of my blog where there is  a search bar you can type in “Bluff Diaries” and it will take you to the last four posts.

Thank you as always for stopping by, wishing you a wonderful day. Here it’s beautiful after a very stormy day yesterday which included a serious traffic snarl driving from the city, but it’s coooold today! Go figure:) Until next time…..
