Seven on Sunday

Happy Easter to all of my fellow Easter celebrating friends and readers. To  my Jewish friends and readers, hope you enjoyed a wonderful Passover. Beautiful day here, with a high getting to a whopping 76 degrees, practically summer!  I want to announce the winner of the chinoiserie tole tray. Congrats goes to-

Please email to provide your shipping address and color choice so this tray can be on it’s way!

Wishing everyone a wonderful and blessed day with your family and. loved ones. My parents are in town so it’s going to be a day of family and togetherness (less two sons who are at Coachella, they CLAIM they did not realize it was Easter when they booked the trip…uh huh:)  Here we go with my Seven on Sunday-

1 FABRICS AND TRIMS…OH MY! I so love playing with fabrics and a current job that has been ongoing is starting to get the finishing touches.

This job is one I have been working on for the last several months and it is shaping up so beautifully. I shared some pics here (the NJ project) and will surely show a final reveal when the room is totally done. The final element will be the fabulous Ralph Lauren rug being made (to be delivered in May. We just firmed up all the pillows to be made, here is the rug-

The beautiful rug from Ralph Lauren is being made for them and due here within the month and feast your eyes on all the fabulous trims-

2 FOLLOWUP REPORTS ON A FEW THINGS I recommend things that I like and share my ideas often. Sometimes its fun to follow up when I really really like something. So here are a few recent “reviews”

Get these shoes! Love them, they are so comfortable now have them in two colors. Very chic, super comfy and a great everyday espadrille. Click here for info

These also are too cute, love the color and great scalloped shape plus the color screams ‘warm weather dressing,  here I come”! Click here for info

And finally have been using Glopro for about 10 days,  using it 3 times a week. I just recently learned what microstiumlation/mircroneedling is…and it makes perfect sense to now be able to do it at home, as traditionally this was done in a dermatologists office. It’s easy peasy but I swear its not my imagination, I think my skin is looking better and better.

I have good skin but as this sheds that first sloughy layer off of skin, so allows the skin to breath and open up the pores.  My favorite moisturizer, La Prairie really penetrates the skin. I will say this was well worth the investment and I am going to continue to do this 2-3 times a week as recommended.

I bought mine at Nordstrom as they stand behind their products no questions asked, just in case I didn’t like it. So far though, it is an absolute keeper and I think the buzz Glopro is getting is well deserved. For what a dermatologist charges, this thing pays for itself in one visit. Click here for info

3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST. Very “Easter heavy” and why not, it only comes once a year with a healthy dose of spring and all around pretty thrown in!

4.GORGEOUS NEEDLEPOINT PILLOWS. I so love this exquisite line of very fine needlepoint/aubusson pillows. Got in a handful and will be offering them in a flash sale soon, to “test” the market before I commit to a large order. Thoughts welcome! Please participate in this short poll-

5. PRETTIEST SCONCES! I am excited to soon start carrying this most beautiful line and went with a client to the company headquarters to see them in person. So spectacular!! I have used them for years and often use them in jobs as well, made of the highest quality.

I am using a number of them for my PB home and have their more traditional ones in my current home. Here are some of what I saw….not one I don’t just love.

And this lamp I have used so many times and for good reason,  it is positively gorgeous-

6. MR TEDDY BUNNY. Always save the best for last, say hello to our resident Easter bunny…never seen one cuter! He wishes all of you a very happy happy Easter Sunday but demanded these darn ears get taken off right after his pic was taken, he said they made him look like a donkey. What can I say, he is one smart dog:)

7. SUNDAY’S SURVEY. So today, this is about summer and your plans or lack of plans: Never have I appreciated and enjoyed the blessing of no agenda as I do now that am working full time.

For me summer signifies the loosening up of a strict regimented non stop schedule. Its time to sit back and indulge in cocktails (sometimes before 5), lobster rolls and beach days. Of course mixed in with work as life doesn’t stop but taking more time to chill. Summer almost feels like a “temporary free pass” to take extra time off and relax a bit more than we might other seasons. How about you? What does summer mean to you?

And that my friends is a wrap. Hope you enjoyed this post. Wishing everyone a Happy Easter and a happy Sunday.

Always love to hear from you and happy you make me a part of your Sunday every weekend morning. Until next time…….

AS OF MONDAY MORNING- Brand new flash sale on the most exquisite line of brass/crystal lamps. You will not find  more beautiful lamps! Click here to view

Random musings as seen through my iPhone….

Hello and happy Saturday. Woke up to no snow, that’s always a good thing.  I really hope that winter is finally done and spring can usher it’s way in once and for all. With a lot of snow presently on the ground it just doesn’t feel like spring is going to really be here on Monday. The daffodils a week ago when it was 60 started coming up and now are covered in frozen snow:(

Today is the last day of the porcelain presale so be sure to stop by and check it out if you haven’t already. Its been so well received and the response has been phenomenal, always so great to know there are so many fellow blue and white addicts:)  Plus there is a great giveaway and today is the last day to enter! Click here to view

As I periodically do,  I share with you snippets of my life from the last week or so..of course the good, pretty and inspiring only! So without further ado here we go…..

Went to one of my happy places aka “New York flower district” and came home with some beauties…..

Enjoyed a wonderful meal with a great friend at Le Coucou in NYC, fabulous!!

These black beauties are heading to a rooftop apartment in Boston where they are going to plant them with large boxwood balls, so classic

It might feel still very much like winter outside, but indoors it’s all about spring and flowers!!

Upstairs hall got a little sprcueup

A pretty corner in my bedroom….the soft colors are so soothing, it’s my private little sanctuary

So loving these beautiful trims and fabrics we just decided on for a clients family room…cannot wait to see it done!

Awwwh….Teddy got a special little friend as a gift and loves his new furry friend

LOVE working on gorgeous trims and for this client, her new pillows are going to be out of this world!

This is how we do St. Patty’s day in our office….green gorgeouness overload! How amazing are the pillows above that I had made for a client, is that ginger jar tape not the greatest thing ever!

So there you have it, all the good stuff from this past week. Hope you enjoyed, thank you as always for stopping in. Wishing you a wonderful Saturday and an enjoyable weekend! Until next time…..

Seven on Sunday

Hello friends from very cold New York (high of 40’s with a wicked wind)! I first want to announce the winner of the Horchow holiday guest towel giveaway. Congratulations goes to

Please contact me at so your gift can be on it’s way.

I am so happy today is Sunday, for many reasons. This past week was insanely busy but in a good productive kind of a way and it’s truly been non stop. I need this day of not having an agenda other than to start setting my Thanksgiving table. I am completely intimidated seeing how many on Instagram are not only decorated for Thanksgiving but Christmas!!!! Talk about feeling behind….OK so I am slow out of the starting gate, but it will get done.

Had a few wake up calls this week that the holidays are HERE! Passing a few local shopping centers this past week and seeing even their holiday decorations out gave me a nudge to get busy. So at the very least I will start going through what I and “assessing”. My approach to holiday decorating is always done piece meal, here and there when I have small windows of time, in the end it does get done:)

Then my mom surprised me when she said “can’t wait to see you next week’. I did a double take…WHAT? Thanksgiving is next week???  I have had my head in the ornament world and didn’t even realize it’s next week…thankfully the only major “to do” is getting my meal squared away. We will be 8 so its manageable and I always look forward to this special holiday of family togetherness. Very excited my college son flies in tomorrow night….all my little birdies are coming home to the nest!

OK….now it’s time for my Seven on Sunday and here we go-

1 ORNAMENT CENTRAL I have been eating, breathing and dreaming of blue and white ornaments…we have gotten over hundreds and hundreds of orders out and I must say I never got tired of seeing them. I cannot wait to start decorating my own tree! I have enjoyed getting in some pictures of how my talented customers are starting to use them, always fun to see peoples excitement over them.

(I had more to add but with the transition of my site as of Sunday was not able to add any more pictures to this post I had worked on earlier this week so there are a few…..)

uadfsafnnamed unncvcvamed

I had this tiny Christmas tree from when my son was younger and wanted his own in his room so I put it in my office and added some of the ornaments to it…can I say I am smitten? Cannot wait to decorate my “real” tree….hopefully soon after Thanksgiving, one holiday at a time:)

2. HOLIDAY CHEATS. I am all for making things as easy as possible over the holidays. Let’s face it there are many things to which there are no shortcuts so when you can find them, by all means take advantage! I do this a lot, you can-use a cookie cutter or small glass. Take a store bought cake, bread, whatever and create small individual personal servings. Everything looks cuter and more edible in small amounts right?

In this case a friend was topping by for impromptu visit and all I had on hand was a store bought coffee cake in a generic tin and berries. So I added the berries to my individual little coffee cakes, a bit of powdered sugar and it actually looked really pretty (forgot to take pic with berries) The presentation is so much prettier, never look at a whole cake or pie the same again lol.

3. THANKSGIVING INSPIRATION. I desperately need this, because now that I am now working full time I just don’t have the luxury of time and I am still seeking to find that balance. I am not expecting that to change much until after Christmas so every hour counts. Weekends were never so anticipated as they are now! Thought I would share these beautiful pictures of Thanksgiving tables for inspiration…..

4 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST. Never at a loss of finding incredible images to share with you from Instagram. It’s a guilty pleasure, and after a long tiring day to sit  back and visit this land of beauty and  inspiration on my iPad is a real treat and visual “getaway”.  Here is what got my attention this week-

5. TWO OF MY FAVORITE THINGS. Fall and Teddy! Went for a walk last week and Teddy was in the mood to  ham it up, he looked positively regal against the stunning fall foliage backdrop. Teddy take it away….

unnamedsdsad udsadsannamed unnacx32med unvbnamed unnamecxcxd uncx23named unnavcmed u232nnamed unnamdsdsed

I hope what they say about seeing a lot of acorns on the ground being indicative of a big snow fall for the coming winter isn’t true because I never recall seeing so many acorns as I did on this walk….yikes!

6. FAUX VS. REAL. Every year I buy a fresh Christmas tree, I love the whole experience though really liked it when my kids were young, eager to accompany me and it was always a big and much looked forward to outing. Now it’s normally  a solo outing squeezed into my daily errands which is fine but it’s just become another “to do”  to add to my list. I have been considering buying a faux tree though I vowed I never would.

The fact that so many come pre lit is a huge huge bonus, just thinking of not having to deal with tangled lights or the mysterious inevitable missing bulb makes me giddy!

So here is where I would love your input. Do you have any recommendations? A few that I seem to come across often are these are from Frontgate and Balsam Hill.  I was admittedly kind of  shocked at the prices, they are “up there” but if I am going to buy one, it’s going to be a good one and the most realistic I can find. I feel like it’s giving up that heavenly Christmas tree smell for ease and  convenience. Humm………..

151877_main screen-shot-2016-11-17-at-6-54-41-am

Then I saw these and I love this look and can see my blue and white ornaments looking fabulous….it is referred to as a “frosted” tree-

screen-shot-2016-11-20-at-2-01-49-pm screen-shot-2016-11-20-at-6-46-47-am screen-shot-2016-11-20-at-6-46-24-am

7. SUNDAY’S SURVEY. So in continuing on the subject of Christmas trees, for those of you who put up a tree, curious as to whether you purchase a real tree every year or use a faux tree (sounds better than fake:)

I am really torn on what to do but do want to make up my mind very soon as I am hoping to start  decorating in the next week or so.  Please check which best applies and I left a blank space if you want to fill in with a manufacturer that would you recommend. or you think is worth checking out….

Anything here get your attention? So where are you on the holiday decorating front? Feeling the pressure? Funny I never even thought about it well after Thanksgiving but being immersed in the blogging/Instagram world, things are on a fast track for sure.

While I certainly admire anyone who is already fully decorated (OK with maybe a teeny bit of envy) I don’t look at it as a competition and will continue to do things at my own pace as I have for a while. Just doing the best I can:) Thank you as always for stopping by and making me a part of your Sunday routine. Wishing you a great day and end to your weekend. Until next time……

PS The warehosue blowout part 1 ends later today, still some great deals to be had click here if you missed it.

Seven on Sunday

Hi friends and happy Memorial Day weekend! Hope you are having a great and relaxing holiday weekend. We are away in Maine for a few days to “ring in summer”.  Hard to believe the unofficial start to summer is here! Hope this posts on time as I scheduled it ahead of time.  Enjoy….

1 AN AMAZING EVENT PLANNER. You would think one of my sons is on the brink of getting married, the way my radar is so on all the time for amazing event planners/beautiful wedding ideas. Sadly no, far from that happening. Any pretty eligible blue and white loving, sweet girls out there for a handsome and wonderful 28 year old?  He would kill me if he saw this (one perk of my sons not caring to read my blog)!

Absent of a bride on the horizon, my active imagination is having fun collecting all kinds of great ideas for when that day does come:) This “new to me” event planner, Easton Events is off the charts, and what a find!

Someone who like me, is into the smallest details and boy does it show. Her work is stupendously gorgeous and I am officially obsessed with their work. Check out Easton Events by clicking here….

2 FOOD TRUCKS IN PARIS. So funny but almost seems like an oxymoron. The land of gastronomy and food trucks coexisting? Apparently so, and they are,  from what I am hearing all the rage, go figure:)

A friend recently returned from France after being there 3 weeks and vouched for this. She also said while in Provence they had what she and her husband declared as the best pizza they have ever eaten! There are over 40 varieties and they tried a few including ones that are topped with go figure….creme fraiche, only in France:)

Now that is really saying something about it being the best pizza, coming from NY!!  So I was curious and found a great article on it, click here to read. If you are going to be in that area, it’s called Le Castellat and here is how it’s done-

3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST One of my favorite things to do is share with you all that I found on Instagram this week….always so much to admire and be in awe of. Whether it’s gorgeous parties beautiful food, adorable kids, whatever it might be, it’s so inspirational! Here is this week’s round up-

4 ENCHANTED HOME SHOP HAPPENINGS. Lots going on behind the scenes….. So I spoke to you and even asked you via  poll about developing these Christmas ornaments. The vast majority of you loved the idea and encouraged me to do it. So I did.

I have been busy designing these darling chinsoierie pagoda, ball and ginger jar ornaments, and am in the process of getting samples back to approve. I am so excited, I just may be decorating a Christmas tree in August lol. Will keep you posted but with luck they will start arriving late summer/early fall!

My porcelain presale was a huge success, next week the chinoiserie tole will be here, be on the lookout for a one day sale when they are physically at the warehouse. A new silver shipment will be here late June/early July with all kinds of new items like more mint juleps, candelabras and fabulous gallery trays.

And will be expanding quite a bit with the monogrammed linens when the new site launches in about 4-5 weeks-

5 MY YARD IN BLOOM. I am loving the fact that my yard is starting to turn so green and lush…so love this time of year when I start to see everything in bloom. One of my favorite spots is the fountain that has been on this property a long time,  which we restored. It is a little slice of heaven, it is so peaceful, I often go there to meditate and just revel in the quiet.

Plus my garden is moving along, and I am indeed seeing some growth, love the idea of the container gardening, makes it so manageable….

ind3433ex indfdazex insd3wdex

I also started getting my covered patio together, and was excited to bring out my blue and white pillows (as well as add some new ones to the mix). Next week I hope to do our main patio as long as we get a nice string of good weather days.

6. A RECIPE WORTH SHARING. I like to share with you recipes that are tried and true. Since we have been eating much more healthy the last few months, I have gone out on a limb and tried many new recipes.

Some were OK but others are fantastic and this one is a winner, worth sharing because not only is it really really good, it gets brownie points for being very healthy!

SOUTHWESTERN CHICKEN SALAD- I did not use the Ranch dressing but instead made this dressing below and it is sooo good!

  • 1 Chicken breast (about 1 lb), large

  • 1 Avocado
  • 1 Bell pepper, large orange
  • 1 15 oz. can Black beans
  • 1 cup Corn from the can
  • 4 Green onions
  • 1 head Romaine lettuce
  • 2 Tomatoes, medium

  • 1 Hidden valley buttermilk ranch dressing

Baking & Spices

  • 2 tsp Chili powder, mild
  • 1 Salt

Oils & Vinegars

  • 1 tbsp Olive oil

Nuts & Seeds

  • 2 tsp Cumin, ground

Dressing found at Gimmedelicious-

Healthy Creamy Avocado Cilantro Lime Dressing-

  • 1 Avocado
  • 1 clove Garlic, peeled
  • ¼ cup roughly chopped cilantro
  • ¼ cup low-fat sour-cream or greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime or lemon juice (or white vinegar)
  • 3 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • ¼ teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • Water

Place all the ingredients In a food processor or blender. Process until smooth, stopping to scrape down the sides a few times. Thin the salad dressing out with about ⅓ cup water (give or take) until it reaches a desired consistency. Keep in an airtight container for 1-2 weeks. ( I stored mine in a Mason jar)

7. TEDDY AND HIS CLOSEUP I had to end this on such a sweet note. My husband bought this little vintage car, and loves to drive around on Sundays, so Teddy thought it looked cool and jumped right in. So now its the two of them that go cruising,  and Teddy walks in after his Sunday drive with a whole new swagger, very sweet!

And they are off……

So friends,  that is what’s on my mind this past week…..I look forward to being back with you on Tuesday. Don’t forget to enter your name in the hat for the porcelain planter giveaway, I will announce a winner on Tuesday, click here to enter.

Wishing everyone, a safe, healthy and happy holiday weekend. Until next time……

Random musings as seen through my iPhone

Good Wednesday morning! Very busy week on this end…..working fast and furious on various design projects which of course I love to do (one peril is finding way too many things I want for myself in the process), oversaw a warehouse clean up in anticipation of three containers arriving within the next 4-6 weeks…gotta make room on the shelves:) Lots going on and there were plenty of days I treated myself to a glass of wine the minute the clock struck five!

As I do every now and then I share with you a snippet of my life as seen through my iPhone…what would we do without our phones!!? And don’t say sleep better (though its true).? So here is a look at what’s been going on around here….

So those are highlights of what’s happened in my? world this week. Of course I am not showing the downside to this week-being stuck in a 2 hour traffic jam that should have taken 40 minutes,? a scream fest over a piece of furniture that is delayed by 6 weeks for a client, the incessant worrying I did about my son flying home from India,? a burnt pot roast (the silver spoon trick really does work though, which is if you have a burnt something throw a silver utensil in the pot for a good 30 minutes and often times it will remove the burnt flavor, thanks Grandma:) or getting a stiff neck for two days from sleeping the wrong way!

Oh yea, plenty of those moments too but that is not what this blog is about, I like to keep it pretty and happy! How about you? What’s new in your world? Thank you for stopping by as always……wishing you a great day, until next time!

Random musings as seen through my iphone, survey and a giveaway!

Hello and happy Saturday…as I periodically do I share a snippet of my life as seen through my trusty little iphone, cannot imagine life without it:)

In addition, big news is that I have just hired a company to revamp my entire site. It is going to be a bigger and improved Enchanted Home. As you know I am all about evolving, improving and growing. I believe change (good ones that is) keep us going in the right direction and I’m always aspiring to be better.I have had this idea in the back of my mind for some time but it’s a lot of work and a big deal however I have decided to take the plunge:)

I am excited to be working with the company I hired as they are really good at what they do. So as we begin the “behind the scenes” process, your input is so valuable to me. The new site will take 3-4 months to build….so for now everything will stay as is. This poll is a bit different in that is its asking questions that could/would pertain to the future Enchanted Home (one or two questions might overlap from previous poll). To thank you I am offering a giveaway. So here is a peek into what my week has been all about and the poll and giveaway details on bottom-

Random musings as seen through my iPhone……

Hi there! Busy days over here, wish I could say I was busy Christmas decorating but not that is not exactly the case. It’s been drips and drabs over here, I feel some momentum and get something done and then life takes over and the decorations remain in their boxes, waiting for another chance to “come out”. I went to a beautiful holiday house tour yesterday and must say seeing all the homes decked out in their holiday best did get me a slight bit more motivated, so there is hope!

Today my tree is getting delivered and maybe if I crank up some Christmas music things might get hoping around here. Of course it does not help that we had near 60 degree temps yesterday! I wouldn’t mind a beautiful little dusting of snow, just enough to make everything pretty and magical.

And how about you? I see so many trees up, presents wrapped and Christmas cards sent…I am so so behind. We are having two family Christmas parties, one this Sunday (a bigger one) and next weekend is a smaller gathering about 15 so I am thinking as I start to prepare….I am bound to “get in the spirit” afterall!

As I periodically do I share with you a slice of my life in the last week as seen through my trusty little iPhone and here we go…..

The most beautiful artwork sent by a dear reader/client….more on this on Sunday, and yes that is Teddy!

I have been getting in some beautiful gifts and a pretty stack of boxes filled with yummy sweets is always welcome!

It was intended for another space but my “helpful” husband? I know you know what I mean by putting that in parentheses put it on the front door, given my tepid motivation for now, it will remain:)

THIS is why I might consider myself a Christmas hoarder, taken in my attic. Please don’t judge if there was a support group trust me I would go. But the good news is that? I did not buy one single piece of Christmas decor this year, I have a lifetime supply…

A group of friends who I love and have been getting together with for over 10 years took me out for my bday on Wed (my bday is the 14th) to our favorite Mexican (a tradition) so many great laughs, good food and of course a nice dose of frozen margaritas…..

I got the best gifts!! My all time favorite UGGS bow gloves, the coziest pjs, an amazing tea set from David’s Teas in NYC and? mug/diffuser but the best part, is their friendship…priceless!

Lots of pretty monogrammed napkins going out the door, every time I see a new combination I want them!

Great things come in from Samuel and Son! Got in this scrumptious trim for my dining room…..

And finally being that I such a drip this year, I didn’t get to bribe my kids into posing for yet another Christmas picture, poor Teddy missed out on his 15 min of fame. So I snapped a few quickly of him in his “ugly Christmas sweater…why can’t my boys follow Teddy’s lead and just ham it up for 15 minutes? Love this guy…I wish you could meet him, he is such a mush!

So there you go. Now, this is the good stuff, mind you not a total representation of my last week or so. There are no pictures of my mini meltdowns over various things, screaming while in a traffic jam, having a few wardrobe malfunctions, waiting on the phone for an hour trying to change a forgotten about jury duty call,, a burnt potroast that I forgot about in the oven, (ugh), the list goes on but you can turn on the news and see plenty of doom and gloom! As you know I like to focus on the pretty and the good at least on my blog:)

Wishing everyone a great day, hope your holidays are off to a merry start! Until next time…..

AS OF THURSDAY EVENING- New promo alert and this one is incredible! Gorgeous florals have been created using my tole and porcelain containers, staring Thurs evening until Sunday! Click here to view….

Random Saturday musings……

Hi there, hope your weekend is off to a great start. One toe out of bed and I realized its much colder today, I feel it in my bones. Tonight we have a fancy schmancy party in NYC, black tie so I need to finish putting my party outfit together.

I have had such a busy busy week, pretty much to my ears in blue and white with the presale…response was incredible, there is ONE HOUR left for the presale, click here to view (many things sold out and very low quantity on others). What is left will be up for grabs once the container actually arrives on or around Dec.8th so stay tuned:)

This is kind of a mix of my normal random musings taken with my iphone and a running monologue of random thoughts…….

I look at my instagram and seriously cannot believe that there are actually people whose homes are fully decorated for Christmas……say what??? I am sorry but I still have pumpkins everywhere and am going to milk my efforts for making things look festive for autumn/Halloween just a wee bit longer. Then I go to the market and there is a full on display of Christmas wreaths, but it’s only Nov. 19th people! Too soon, too soon, anyone else agree?

I have surrendered to my kids not being willing participants to taking a picture for my annual Christmas card so think it’s going to be Teddy in his new Santa suit that I just got him and if I am lucky my youngest son.? It’s really sad as it is closing a chapter of many many Christmas cards featuring my three boys. Oh well….life goes on.

On a different subject, can someone who is far more computer savvy than I please explain how on earth I have been selected to get on a regular basis- emails trying to sell me adult diapers and invite me to their cougar dating site?

LOL…I kid you not. S C A R Y! First off thank lordy I am far from needing adult diapers thank you very much and am happily married (except when my husband wants to put an embargo on any more blue and white or new china sets coming into our home)!

Speaking of which, I was cleaning out my pantry and came across some of my favorite plates which I think I will use for Thanksgiving……

inaa33dex indfd3ex

and my blue willow set makes me want to plan a lunch for friends…always so pretty!

I used blue willow and also used a healthy dose of shamless self promotion the other day when a friend stopped by for an impromptu coffee break and I replaced the matching blue willow mug with my own The Enchanted Home mug:) It looks so cute….

And on the subject of pretty things….how gorgeous are these new arrivals of the chinoiserie handpainted pillows? Unfortunately they are headed out to their rightful owners, as tempting as it is to kidnap them!

I have to admit I am a bit of a news junkie and it’s on pretty much 24/7. It is sooo depressing and so frightening though. I find myself waking up at 2 or 3 in the morning feeling anxious then you guessed it….turning on the news. Anyone else feeling this way?

It has me on the edge of my seat which is exactly what those barbarians want. I however will not give in to fear, no way. I will continue to fly, go into NYC…there is no way they are going to strip me of my freedom and liberty to enjoy all that we as Americans are so grateful to have.

Anyone feeling like they are in the mood to win a free and beautiful home furnishing? Then visit Decor Market’s instagram by clicking here?? to follow them and where they are giving away an item a week to celebrate their Instagram launch! Also? check them out at, such a great great site for so many wonderful and so many well priced items, amazing rug selection and some gorgeous furniture pieces too (LOVE this new Tibetan rug collection)

Speaking of retail therapy I will be hopping on over to Horchow’s holiday prep event to see if there are any fill ins I cannot live without, at up to 40% off it’s a great time to realize you “need” something! Click here to visit Horchow

We are going to Naples, Florida…have never been. Can anyone make some great suggestions of restaurants/things to do while we are there? And don’t be bashful about showing in some great shopping spots, out of courtesy for my husband. If they are that great we OK I, need to know about them!

And finally the other day I came home and as I typically do late afternoon when its cold outside, immediately turned on the fireplace in the family room (it’s gas) and then got busy cooking, doing various things around the house. I then was looking for Teddy and couldn’t find him, then lo and behold, look at what I saw……as proud as an African lion perched on my husbands favorite chair in front on the roaring fire was Teddy taking a late day siesta….I knew I raised a smart pup:)

Well friends this is my short and sweet “check in” random post for today. Hoping to have some much? needed downtime today to rest up for this evening. My best nights are those when I don’t need to go out or when I can be home by 10, and tonight will be neither of those things but I know it will be beautiful! Be back tomorrow with my? Seven on Sunday…wishing you a fabulous day and a great relaxing weekend!

Sunday showdown and Teddy’s closeup………

Hi there…..I have had so much fun going through all of the amazing pet pictures, its a tough contest, but your votes have been cast (over 1200 of them)? and I am happy to present the two top pictures (one from each round). Today you can vote for your favorite and tomorrow morning I will crown the winner and announce their prize.

?From round 1 this picture had the most votes, a great shot showing a young puppy and young girl and many years later as an adult dog and teenage girl……

And the top picture from round 2 was, such a sweet endearing picture of a darling baby learning early that dogs really do make the best friends!

Now its your turn to vote for the one that best says Pet Love. Voting will end tomorrow morning at 6am ETS. Thank you for participating! (poll below)

On another note, Teddy was giving me the cold shoulder the last few days and I finally figured it out, he is peeved that here I am running this Pet Love contest and I did not enter him into it. He has no idea about how unethical that would have been so I am trying to win back his adoration by sharing pictures of his most recent photo session in our last (of many) great big snowfalls.

He and my son had a blast as you can see….Teddy in my eyes you are the winner. The one and only! So here is Teddy doing his thing….

The snow did not let up…..we got? well over a foot this time around
