Seven on Sunday

Hello friends! I prepared this ahead of time, hope it behaves and posts on Sunday morning as it is supposed to. By the time you are reading this I will have been in one my most favorite places, Palmetto Bluff,  then onto to see friends elsewhere for a birthday celebration.

Hope you are enjoying a great and hopefully springy like weekend. Though it was not a very harsh winter, it felt like a loooooong winter. I am so ready to welcome that warm spring air and fresh cut green grass! Here we go with my Seven on Sunday-

1 NEW PRODUCTS I AM EXCITED ABOUT! I had bought a flatware service similar to this below years ago and so love the set and regretting that I did not but more, was disappointed when I could not find them again. I cannot tell you how many people have emailed me on where to find them.

So……an idea was born, I would recreate them! And I did! Love this pattern and these along with the others I featured not long ago will all be in production by next week. With luck I will have them in early to mid May. Stay tuned as I will be doing an early presale to help me gauge my numbers…..

In addition to the other flatware styles I showed you, this one above will be offered as a five piece place setting along with salad servers and serving spoons/forks.

GORGEOUS new tole pieces coming in late April, can I say they are just getting better and better, and seeing how each piece is handpainted…..makes them really special:) Already plotting where I can use a few of these:)

Fabulous new blue/white lamps

More stunning bamboo lanterns coming this way soon!

2. AMAL CLOONEY…….ONE IMPRESSIVE LADY The more I read about her the more I like and respect her. You may have seen her making the rounds lately on her latest cause…she is a complete breath of fresh air in the sometimes ridiculous world of Hollywood, a wonderful humanitarian and an inspiration to all women.

She has taken on what many see as an epidemic, the genocide being inflicted upon countless innocent civilians on The Yazidis. It is unimaginable and reading this story gave me chills… is hard to imagine that just a plane ride away, lives such brutality, such evil.

I really respect the attention she is giving this plight and of course also love that as a women with tremendous reach and power, she is highlighting a dire situation beyond comprehension that simply should not be. Read the entire article here.

3. FUN EARRINGS FOR THE SUMMER . I love wearing fun earrings in the summer, they go with the easy breeze lighter clothes, and fun summery styles. The bon bon earrings have become such a huge hit, and the best part is they are as light as a feather. Found these at Bitz of Glitz…very very cute! Click here to see more

4. CHICKEN THAT IS FINGER LICKING GOOD I made Ina Garten’s Tuscan Lemon Chicken and can attest to the fact that it’s one of the best chicken dishes I have ever eaten AND its diet friendly so big points for that.

I grilled vegetables on the side, had a big salad and the chicken…it was a very satisfying dinner with leftovers! This is honestly as good cold as it is off the grill and is a summer staple in my home. Click here for the recipe

5. INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST Everything today is so pretty….very springy. And why not, we have waited a long long time to celebrate the arrival of spring.

These pictures make me want to go and open my windows and let the sunshine in, but then I look outside and still see dark, crusted, icy snow. A reminder that winter is still kinda here so these pictures will have to suffice for now:)

6. A VERY EXCITING PROJECT. I have a few really exciting projects going on…..makes me happy:) But this one in particular really makes is getting my creative party juices flowing.

I was hired to help someone with  a large scaled June rehearsal dinner in sunny Florida at a private club…and she chose wisely because she is doing an all blue and white theme!! Here is one of the concept boards we are came up with…going to be F A B U L O U S!!! We just finalized all the pieces for the tables and bar area (some are below) and now working on flowers. Silver lining here- she is going to have one stunning blue and white collection after this party!

Will be sure to share with you some of the “after” pictures when the party takes place in June!

7 SUNDAYS SURVEY I have a friend who is selling her home and buying a new one. She is considering going with a totally new look and I mean totally starting from scratch. Her old home was a bit old fashioned traditional, many beautiful things but some of it appeared dated. She is thinking she wants to go with a clean/crisp transitional aesthetic that is so big right now. Her husband is not so sure but is allowing her to make this decision. The thing is she wants to have a tag sale and get rid of everything and I mean everything. She wants to only leave with her personal possessions and start anew.

We have been talking a lot about this big change and it got me thinking….if you could would you totally redo everything you have? Can you imagine leaving every item you own (furniture wise) behind? I personally am very attached to a number of my things and many have a story that makes them extra sentimental.  I get it…these are just things however they are things that I love and have meaning to me. I know I could not leave it all behind but apparently many can and do.

So, could you and would you? Curious as to what you think…..

That wraps up my Seven on Sunday this week. How about you? Anything exciting happening on your end? I always love hearing from you, so feel free to chime into the conversation. Hope you are enjoying a fabulous weekend. Until next time…

Random musings as seen through my iPhone….

Hello and happy Saturday. Woke up to no snow, that’s always a good thing.  I really hope that winter is finally done and spring can usher it’s way in once and for all. With a lot of snow presently on the ground it just doesn’t feel like spring is going to really be here on Monday. The daffodils a week ago when it was 60 started coming up and now are covered in frozen snow:(

Today is the last day of the porcelain presale so be sure to stop by and check it out if you haven’t already. Its been so well received and the response has been phenomenal, always so great to know there are so many fellow blue and white addicts:)  Plus there is a great giveaway and today is the last day to enter! Click here to view

As I periodically do,  I share with you snippets of my life from the last week or so..of course the good, pretty and inspiring only! So without further ado here we go…..

Went to one of my happy places aka “New York flower district” and came home with some beauties…..

Enjoyed a wonderful meal with a great friend at Le Coucou in NYC, fabulous!!

These black beauties are heading to a rooftop apartment in Boston where they are going to plant them with large boxwood balls, so classic

It might feel still very much like winter outside, but indoors it’s all about spring and flowers!!

Upstairs hall got a little sprcueup

A pretty corner in my bedroom….the soft colors are so soothing, it’s my private little sanctuary

So loving these beautiful trims and fabrics we just decided on for a clients family room…cannot wait to see it done!

Awwwh….Teddy got a special little friend as a gift and loves his new furry friend

LOVE working on gorgeous trims and for this client, her new pillows are going to be out of this world!

This is how we do St. Patty’s day in our office….green gorgeouness overload! How amazing are the pillows above that I had made for a client, is that ginger jar tape not the greatest thing ever!

So there you have it, all the good stuff from this past week. Hope you enjoyed, thank you as always for stopping in. Wishing you a wonderful Saturday and an enjoyable weekend! Until next time…..

Seven on Sunday

Hello and happy Sunday. I want to first announce the winner of the darling travel case from Last Call, congratulations goes to

Please email me your contact info at so this can be on it’s way!

Hope you are having a nice weekend. Mine has largely centered around my container coming in on Friday, sooo many gorgeous things!! I had a car load to bring home, lol. Tomorrow will be the one day porcelain arrival sale, so do check back. Many beautiful items will be up for grabs.

So the weekend was a busy one,  worked all day at the warehouse getting orders out,  but then got to do a little shopping, had a lovely dinner with good friends, and some always much needed downtime is on the calendar for today! I cherish my Sundays more and more with each and every day. So here we go with my Seven on Sunday…….

MY AMAZING CUSTOMERS. I love getting in pictures from my customers and am soon going to do a post on some recent edesign projects, some astounding before and afters to share!!

Love the pair of lamps and my pillow  in this pretty setting sent in by a customer-

And how pretty does my chunky ginger jar look in this beautiful bathroom!

This is an amazing before and after that you will not believe…this is the almost the after (window treatments and new chair was not in yet)

I will do a more in depth look into this fun project when I do my post but we took furniture that she wanted to keep and her kids deemed old fashioned and gave it new life. I will share much more on this when I do my post-

This is a current project. The customer had bought this new sofa and didn’t like it but couldn’t see getting rid of it. So reupholstery to the rescue. We are revamping this room and it is coming out beautifully…chose a beautiful pale tan tweedy fabric and will do a bunch of blue and cream pillows

AFTER-  Reupholstered the sofa in a beautiful pale tan/beige tweedy fabric and it’s night and day! The chairs are next on the menu, recognize the jars? We put  a sofa table between the sofas and are creating two separate seating areas

2 MY BATHROOM ON WAYFAIR! I was very flattered that the peeps over at Wayfair wanted to feature my bathroom….who says no to Wayfair! Not me:)  Click here to read about what was behind the look I created for my master bath….and thanks Wayfair!

3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST So much to share, heavily accented with homes and interiors this week along with a few mouth watering foodie pics!

And my fave this week is this one because it is so picture perfect (a baby shower place setting) love it!

4 THE SWEETEST VIDEO My dad sent this and it just warmed my heart. Not only does the Dad have a fantastic voice but watching his daughter do a duet with him with her adorable inflections is just too sweet for words. Not to mention this song is just a heart warmer, really really cute and a beautiful reminder that the best things in life really are free:)

You really have to watch it until she starts belting her part of the song…such a sweet moment.

5 AMAZING LAURIE! I have been a long time fan of Laurie of LB Originals and have an amazing little collection of her beautiful items Not only is she a doll and gem of a person to deal with but she is incredibly thoughtful. I got this most amazing robe from her the other day and am living in it:) I mean seriously…a blue and white pagoda robe, does it get better??? I wake up counting down the hours until I get to come home and slip into it….love it!  Click here to see all of her incredible goodies.

If you want one of your very own, click here.

I also love that she is selling these complete sets of china services combined with her gorgeous stationery items, here are a few.

6.COACH! I remember being in school and Coach being “the” bag to have, it was a huge deal to get one and then as I became an adult I kind of lost interest. It all stared when I was at a luncheon and saw someone with the gorgeous dinky bag…it was love at first sight.

Well, with a new designer at the helm, Coach has reinvented themselves in the most amazing way. I am LOVING so many of their beautiful new items…and gave in to order one of their bags. Here are some faves….click here to see their entire amazing collection.

I was so excited to see these boots on sale….check out all their sales by clicking here

7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY. OK this week is all about etiquette. I was in line a few days ago at Starbucks, and in front of me was a very “busy’ youngish lady. She couldn’t stop moving or fidgeting (like she had too much coffee and to think she was in line to buy more) and was on her phone either texting or talking LOUDLY. So loud that literally the entire Starbucks could hear every word and many were starting at her hoping that the stare down might get her to turn the volume down. But nope did not happen.

It was to me, rude, impolite and disrespectful to all those around her who might just have needed a little downtime and quiet, me being one of them! Let me also add she was not talking about anything life changing, she spoke of her car repair, her daughters birthday party and her manicure appt…..yep! Finally one elderly man does what all of us really wanted to and turns around and politely asks if she can keep it down. She gave him a look that could melt the ice off a snowman and went on with her fast and furious conversation.

Now……..what do you think? Was he right? Wrong? Are you on the fence? I think with social media and our incessant 24/7 connection to our gadgets, there needs to be a whole new set of rules in place. A revised etiquette book if you will……paging Emily Post!

So……anything here get your attention? This was a busy busy week with the container having arrived and this coming week will continue to be busy…but fun! The one day porcelain presale will start tomorrow morning so be sure to check back plus there will be a giveaway.

I am looking forward to having a chill day at home….I need it, plus I love to catch a bit of the Grammy’s as I love music (and all the wacky fashion that will inevitably be on display)!  Thank you for stopping in, until next time…..

Seven on Sunday

Hello and Happy Superbowl Sunday! I have to give us Americans credit, we are so good at coming up with things to celebrate. Golden Globes, Grammys, Superbowl, Academy Awards, always a fun excuse to party!

Hope everyone is enjoying a nice weekend. It’s been quite mild weather wise lately…almost feeling like winter is about done but I somehow think there is more to come. I wouldn’t mind one great big snowfall and then breeze right into spring!

Here things are calm (calm is good) and relaxing….dinner with friends, a beautiful farewell luncheon for an old friend and some downtime (much needed)! Plus it’s Superbowl Sunday, not that I am your biggest football fan but even I get into this iconic American celebration! May the best team win……moving along to my Seven on Sunday.

1 ONE STUNNING TABLE! I found this table setting and it was love at first sight. I love the colors and of course the blue and white accents, it is elegant and even a bit whimsical. Plus I had considered the fabric used on the chairs for a bench I was reupholstering and now kind of hoping I can find another place for it.

This is such a beautiful set up, kind of has me in the mood for a party…… here to see the entire setup over at Atlanta Homes

2 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST Love the round up this week, the best of the best!! I never cease to be amazed by the sheer beauty that I find on a weekly basis. Think of this as the Oscars of Instagram but on a weekly basis!

And my favorite this week is this one below because well….how perfectly amazing is this!

3 SHOP NEWS Always love to share with you what is happening or on the horizon with my shop. Got in the bamboo lanterns in the medium size which is a great size, I had to share this gorgeous picture of a clients beautiful kitchen with two of them…so fabulous! Click here to see them in the Chinoiserie tole.

My customer ordered the ivory/blue, this one is not yet online but we did just get them back in, in the  med and large

Super excited about the container coming in this week then another container arriving in March which will have all kind of gorgeous new pieces-

Loving the tissue holder and wastepaper basket in blue and white-

This can only mean one thing….I MUST have a blue and white bathroom in PB!! The wastepaper basket is below-

Love this fabulous square planterand already have a place for two of them-

Excited to get this wonderful oversized village scene bowl in as well…going to fill it with green apples!

The silver is also en route and I have about 20 new pieces coming in, a few of them are below

4 A PROSECCO FESTIVAL! Who knew!! This is so my kind of festival:) Sounds like a blast, if you ask me. It will take place in May in East London and is four chock full days of bubbly, Italian music, food and masterclasses…how FUN!!! In case you need an excuse for a vacation, here is your opportunity just waiting…… courtesy of Tina:) For more info on this fun event click here

5. SUPERBOWL IDEAS! Well today is the big day…..I will admit I am not a huge football fan (unless one of my sons is playing) but even I get into the whole Superbowl excitement, how can you not, it would almost feel anti American! We were supposed to be away this weekend but plans changed so having a few people over last minute.

We typically have a small group over,  I like to do small bites and normally that is what I do in place of an actual dinner (a non stop revolving door of small bites)  but today I am whipping out the big guns…making a big pot of my most favorite meal of all, Beef Bourguignon Recipe is below along with a few great appetizer ideas in case you need a last minute idea or two-

This is GOOD as in insanely delicious. A tried and true recipe that is a winner. It’s a lot of prep but sooooo worth it!

  • About 3-4 tablespoons light virgin olive oil
  • 8 ounces bacon, chopped (1/2 a package)
  • 2 teaspoons garlic cloves, large chopped pieces (not too fine)
  • 1/2 cup Cognac
  • 1 bottle of good full bodied red wine (ideally like Beaujolais, Cabernet or Burgundy)
  • ?2 cups beef broth (I used Emerils box of beef stock which is a 32 oz box)
  • 1-2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2-2 1/2 pounds beef cut into 1-inch cubes (I use top round london broil)
  • Sea salt to taste
  • Fresh pepper
  • 1 pound carrots, cut to 1 inch (don’t use baby carrots, they are too soft)
  • 2 med.onions- thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh, thyme leaves (1/2 teaspoon dried) I used a bit more than the recipe called for and always use fresh
  • 4 tablespoons butter at room temperature, melted
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 pound fresh mushrooms (cut off stems and discard) can use more if you are like me and love mushrooms
  • about 3-4 Yukon gold potatoes diced into 1 inch pieces (some also add turnips)

If you have a nice heavy dutch oven, that is preferable otherwise a good stock pot is fine. I used my Le Cruset “weighs a ton” pot but it was perfect for this dish plus its French! Heat the olive oil and add the bacon, cook on medium until fairly crispy. Remove and drain bacon. Add cubed beef (after they have been rinsed, patted dry and sprinkled with sea salt and pepper) one layer at a time and sear the meat, this will take about 4-5 minutes, make sure its seared on all sides. Set aside with the bacon.

Next, you will add carrots, onions, and either potatoes or turnips if you are using them along with salt and pepper to the fat in the pot and cook for about 15 minutes or until soft and onions are lightly browned. Then add garlic and cook for another minute or two. Next add Cognac…you then should take a match and light it right in the pot…STAND BACK while you do this and stare in awe at your budding creation! (This process burns off the alcohol)

Next add the meat and bacon into the pot with the juices already in. Add the bottle of wine and beef broth, this mixture should pretty much cover the meat. Next add tomato paste and thyme. Simmer and then cover…at this point you can either cook it on the stove or transfer to a preheated oven (300 degrees) I cooked mine on the stove.

After about an hour and a half, the meat will be fork tender. On the side, take 2 tbsp of butter and melt then mix with flour and add to stew. In a small saute  pan, melt additional 2 tbsp of butter and saute mushrooms for about 5-10 minutes or until soft. Add to stew, bring to a brief boil and then simmer and cook for an additional 30 minutes. Season to taste. At the end, I add a few additional stalks of fresh thyme…get that  crusty baguette (which I throw on the grill or broiler with olive oil for a minute or two) and wine ready and you are in for a divine treat!

If you want a few good appetizer ideas and want to skip the idea of a fussy meal then these are really good too…..can’t stop at just one! Made these mini taco bites last year and they were a huge hit! Click here for recipe ( I did not used the beans just the hamburger meat and toppings)

Looking forward to trying these crab bites, yummy! Click here for the recipe

And how good do these spinach artichoke bites look plus with the name spinach it automatically means you can eat them to your hearts contest, after all its a “health food:” lol, click here for recipe

6. DESIGNER STAMPS! Oscar de la Renta was one of the most talented and iconic designers ever to walk the fashion globe. I think of beautiful, romantic frocks when I hear  his name and am lucky to own a special dress from him which I will always treasure even if I cannot fit into it anymore:)

So……I was so excited to see his legacy is being honored with these incredible stamps coming out mid Feb. I will never have been so happy to go to the post office!!

7. SUNDAY’S SURVEY. This is all about the Superbowl. I will admit I am not a serious football fan, (though I was with the best of them when  my son played in high school) but come Superbowl day I perk up and get into it, however must say the halftime show, palatable excitement  and excuse to enjoy all kinds of great goodies makes the day extra sweet:) So….what best sums up your feelings on this iconic American day?

So friends, that’s whats cooking over there on this beautiful Sunday. Hope whatever you are up to is fun and mostly relaxing..we all need a day to unwind and do just as we please. May the best team win, I know, I know (easy to say when you are neutral)! Until next time…..

PS As of Monday afternoon, there is a new flash sale! The Statuary and Planters flash sale is on for two days only, so many exquisite pieces perfect for spring planting! Click here

Seven on Sunday

We are well aware that the site has been lagging/slow to respond and are sorry for any inconvenience. The good news is we are in the process of switching to a new faster server so you will soon start seeing a big improvement!

Hello!! Hope your first week of 2017 was a good one.  I was under the weather but after a few days of rest am happy to say I am feeling better. I want to first announce the winner of the beautiful blue and white bowl. Congratulations goes to-

Please email me at to claim your prize and provide your shipping details so your bowl can be on it’s merry way!

Back to business and back to my Seven on Sunday, which I so missed doing but then the holidays took over:) Things are settling down here, the ornament and porcelain mayhem has died down, and mayhem it was but the most fun type possible:)

Hard to believe the new year is here, just as I was going to vent about not getting a big snow day so far, the weather gods surprised us yesterday and we got about 8-9″!!

We all know that everything looks prettier sprinkled in “nature’s fairy dust’ as I  like to call it even though it curtailed some weekend plans. We enjoyed a lazy and unexpected down day at home and I must say it was quite nice and today will be more of the same especially with the Golden Globes on tonight.  Let’s get started with my Seven on Sunday…..

1 TWO REALLY GREAT NEW ETSY SHOPS! Etsy is  a fun world to get lost in…I have not had not much time to visit there but when I do I always find something good! These two shops offer such wonderful, unique things, I had to tell you about them as they are great finds-

These notepads, cards and  amazing monogram decals that can be used for so many things are not only so fabulous but her prices are incredible too, great gift/party favor ideas! Click here to visit Sparkly Pink Polka Dots

And this darling company, Folk Fortune makes the cutest pompom slippers and straw totes, really unique and so pretty! Click here to visit them

2.INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST Missed sharing my faves and this week was hard pressed to narrow it down, but alas I did! Still some holiday inspired pictures here, as I am not quite over them (my tree still up would be proof of that) and a mix of other fun pictures-

And my favorite this week is this one because I feel like I died and went to wedding invitation heaven, I would love this for my eldest son (now we just need to locate a suitable bride) lol

3. AMAZING NEW ITEMS COMING IN! I have lots of goodies coming this way and you would think after doing this for almost 3 years I would be jaded but nope, when I love something I LOVE it. There will be several porcelain containers this year, more stunning chionsierie tole, an amazing container   late Feb, and then some really exciting top secret projects are in the works.

If you can believe the ornament collection for 2017 is starting to be designed, most of the top sellers will be coming back but there will be some additions as well and you can bet I will be asking and counting on your opinions, so stay tuned…

These long sold out and much awaited chargers are finally coming back next week! Be on the lookout for a quick promo on them-

The Provence Planters are also coming next week! Most were presold but I do have some extra which I will be offering for a one day promo within the next 10 days or you can email us to find out what we will have available at

A few of the many porcelain beauties coming in the Feb. container (lots of new planters and new items)

Here is a look at some of the beautiful new chinoiserie tole pieces which will be here in about a month (will hold a presale in a week or two)-

4. A FAVORITE NEW RECIPE As we start the new year trying to eat a bit healthier, I am on the lookout for tasty but healthy recipes,  I tried this and it’s a winner, super tasty.

This zucchini lasagne will most definitely become a regular part of our meal plan, though admittedly with just two of us now I cook less. I made a big casserole of it and froze half for a future easy dinner.

On Sundays I love to stay in and cook something yummy especially during the cold winter months and think this is actually going to be on the  menu today, with a big arugula salad with lemon and olive oil…it’s a great and very flavorful meal . Click here to Skinnytaste for the full recipe.

5. A FASCINATING MAN. We all know the  name, Warren Buffet. By all accounts, not only is he known for his incredible generosity with his many billions but by his iconic vision and business acumen. A fascinating documentary has just come out on his life and I cannot wait to see it! Such an inspiring man…..this is going to be GOOD!!

6. A CHIC NEW COAT My mom got me this darling coat from Tory Burch for Christmas and I just have to say I love it….it is sooooo cozy, soft an warm. I love how it’s not a stiff coat but instead one that is as soft as they come, feels like I am wrapped in a cozy blanket…… I love the color too, goes with everything. Thanks Mom:) Click here to find out more

7. SUNDAY’S SURVEY. One of the things I hope to do more of this year is travel, we used to travel a lot then somehow between our kids getting older, busy schedules and of course my extreme fear (claustrophobia in a big way) we have done less. I hope to change that this year…..when I finally do get on a plane and get to where I am going, I wonder why we don’t do it more often!

Travel just broadens your mind in ways that nothing else can… about you? What is your take on travel as we begin the new year?

So that wraps up this Sunday…anything here get your attention? Hope you enjoyed the post, and wishing you a wonderful and relaxing Sunday! I will be hunkering down later today for the always fun preshows for the Golden Globes, love awards season!!  Until next time….

PS One more day for the chinoiserie/tole lighting promo, click here to read all about it

Decking the halls 2016

Hello friends!  Well this is a very busy week, we have gotten more orders out the door than I can count,  but now it’s time for me to concentrate on what I need to get done and suffice to say there is plenty! It was nice having the day on Sunday to reassess what still needs to get done, etc…. Now that the obligations, parties, get togethers are behind me, and I will admit I am kind of relived, I can fully concentrate on what is left to be done.

This year was an interesting holiday season because it was the first year I have worked full time (and then some) so found it  a bit more challenging in terms of juggling and scheduling. There were some things that honestly just had to fall to the wayside, sending out Christmas cards, my poor neglected front door planters, some areas around the house that I normally decorate had to take a back seat to priorities.

However, my tree that I am madly in love with more than made up for the things that didn’t get done however:) I could easily leave this tree up all year long! So here is a look at what was able to get done along with a few pictures from the Christmas party. I so wish I had a photographer because there were a lot of beautiful moments that I wish we could have captured. Oh well….maybe next year:)

So here is a look at how I decked the halls for 2016……

Flowers abound…they just make me happy!

Various vignettes throughout the house….

In the kitchen my paperwhites are going strong, some love the scent, others do not…I personally can’t get enough!

Beautiful super full wreath from Weston Farms, no one does them better

And this is kind of sad….my “attempt” at least starting my planters, but the pumpkins remained and here is my very lame planter scenario, let’s call this exhibit A in a “slice of real life”

Found a beautiful way to use the red flowers and add red roses to the small bud vases in my breakfast room

And on a chest in my breakfast room I added these pinecone/myrtle pieces, love the browns against the blue and white

This was taken during set up of our family Christmas party on Sat. (regrettably did not take more pictures) But first we got a beautiful snowfall the day before…really made it feel like Christmas!

Here are the few pictures I took with my Nikon then the battery died:(

And that friends is a wrap on Christmas 2016. It has been a fun, very full and extremely busy month. I am personally looking forward to Christmas eve knowing what’s done is done, putting up my feet surrounded by my family, opening up a bottle of champagne in front of a crackling fire and cheering the holidays. And you?

Thank you for stopping in, wishing everyone a wonderful day, and may these next few days be as stress free as is humanly possible as we all plow forward to get those last minute details wrapped up. Cheers! Until next time…..

Seven on Sunday

Hello! Happy Sunday! First I have three winners to announce, one is the winner of the cashmere sweater and two lucky winners for the box of ornaments. Congrats goes to

Cashmere sweater winner- #125 LINDA

Two winners for the box of ornaments- #102 MJ MOORE and #82 SHERRIE

Please email me with your shipping addresses so these goodies can be on their merry way!

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend, we had a great and so relaxing dinner with special friends last night, kind of a “pre birthday” party for me. My birthday is next week! And went to an incredible shower yesterday…I will be sure to share pics on my random musings later this week.

If there is a theme for today, it’s going to be productivity with a capital P!  Today is the day that I plan to make major headway on my holiday decorating, gift wrapping, planter redo’s, yes I have a lot on my plate today but it will be all done at home so I will take my time.

And you……are you done with all your holiday decorating or also in full holiday decor mode? As I do every Sunday, I am sharing seven things on my mind. Here we go….

1 A BEAUTY BOX FROM FRANCE! So we all know the whole box craze has become really popular, beauty boxes, tech boxes, there are even boxes for pets now. Well the newest just might be the best…a box straight out of France. It is the brainchild of my friend Sharon Santoni from My French Country Home. Yes “poor” Sharon has to live in Normandy, France so is a bonafide expert on all things French.  She is to me, a French Martha Stewart, the same one who brought us My French Stylish Girlfriends and whose videos make me want to jump on a plane within the next hour (click here to see a few).

This idea was born out of the concept that nearly all women are obsessed with all things French….and I will certainly attest to that.  So what better treat to yourself than to receive a quarterly box surprise box filled with all things French delivered right to your door. Oui oui!

This will be a subscription service where you can sign up for the year or just try it one time. There will be a wide variety of goodies included which will be garden, beauty, home, kitchen related. Gifts are full sized and all from iconic French brands…so exciting!

I  know many women who would love to give this to themselves for Christmas and I am one of them! Click here to learn more

2. HOLIDAY APPETIZERS. So as we are in the holiday season, many will be entertaining on either a big or small scale We will have our family Christmas party in a week  and because of my work schedule I am catering it this year….making it easy on myself. But I do love doing the appetizers as let’s face it, that’s the fun part!

I will be doing my big antipasta spread, my much anticipated baked brie and two others. Both of these below I have made recently and they are sooooo good. The crab balls are so tasty and I like serving them in small cups with a dollop of remoulade sauce. Plus a third one that I have not tried but just may for this party, it looks elegant and so festive.

Crab balls-

1 lb. Back fin Crabmeat
1 Egg, beaten
1 cup Ritz Crackers, crushed
1 tsp. Yellow Mustard
2 tbsp. Fresh Lemon Juice
2 tbsp. Fresh Parsley, chopped
1 tsp. Old Bay Seasoning
1 tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce

Place crabmeat in a mixing bowl, picking any stray shell fragments out. Add crushed crackers, Old Bay Seasoning & parsley to the crab. In a separate bowl, combine egg, mustard, lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce. Whip with a whisk until smooth. Pour egg mixture over the crabmeat and crackers and gently mix careful not to break up large lumps of crabmeat. Mold into golfball sized balls and place on a cookie sheet. Bake @ 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Drizzle w/ melted butter and allow to cool.

And the asparagus straws just look so elegant and are extremely flavorful.

Asparagus Straws

    • 24 asparagus spears, woody ends trimmed
    • 6 sheets of phyllo dough, thawed if frozen
    • 3 tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
    • 12 thin slices prosciutto (6 oz) cut in half crosswise
    • 4 oz. parmesan cheese, grated on the medium holes of a box grater.
  • Heat the oven to 400°F.  Unfold the pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface.  Sprinkle Parmesan on each sheet. Cut into 1 inch “strips”. After washing and trimming the asparagus, I carefully wrap one thin slice of prosciutto around each spear.
  • Then gently twist the one inch strip of puff pastry around each spear (brushing with butter is optional). Put in oven and bake for about 12 minutes or until golden brown. Midway through baking I always sprinkle these with a pinch of Parmesan to give it that extra little zesty bite! These are of course best when you can server them right when they are done….always a hit!

This simple and elegant appetizer has gorgeous flavors and stunning colors. It’s sure to be a hit at your next get together!

  • 2 tbsp Flat leaf parsley
  • 1/4 cup Pomegranate seeds
  • Can add pistachio nuts on to
  • 1 cup Balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 French baguette
  • 8 Wt oz brie cheese
  • 1/4 cup Pama pomegranate liqueur

3. INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST So much beauty and inspiration this week,  it’s over the top! Had fun gathering this incredible round up of my faves this week……

And my favorite this week has to be this, because well….just seeing my ornaments throughout Instagram always brings a smile to my face and this looks so darn pretty!

4. HOLIDAY GIFT WRAPPING I am just getting started but thought I would share. Yes,  this year feeling like a late bloomer but I am starting to rev up my engine and today is designated to be “the” day to get lots done!  My theme this year is gold, blue and green. I love getting creative and it’s a lot easier than you think.

Even walking into your yard and clipping some fresh greenery is a great idea, throw on a few acorns and make sure your hot glue gun is ready. Of course I loved using the ornaments as adornments for those special gifts. Candy canes, small jingle bells, pine cones…it all works beautifully. Here is what I have so far-

5.CHINOISERIE TOLE! I just got in a BEAUTIFUL shipment of lamps and lanterns on Friday, I will offer them up for an arrival  sale in the next week or so, they are sooo pretty. I am so excited to show you everything! And take a look at these gorgeous bathroom pieces coming in after the holidays…

6. WIN A TRIP TO FRANCE? Yes, this is not a typo!!! This is an unbelievable opportunity for one lucky winner to win a trip to Provence….can you imagine, that is the ultimate!! Another stylish friend, Vicki owns the most beautiful charming home in Provence and is offering a one week stay as a giveaway.  Vicki has the most beautiful taste and this Le Petit Bijou is nothing less than perfectly charmingly beautiful.

Vicki is the force behind the iconic French brand, French Essence, and author of a few favorite books on all things French. This is a really amazing opportunity to step into her world!

This is something you most definitely do not want to miss out on. It is so easy to enter and the lucky winner is going to be announced on Dec. 19th, talk about the ultimate Christmas present!! Here is the link to enter-

And a few pics of this little gem-

7  SUNDAY’S SURVEY This is about basic manners. I grew up with parents who were hyper vigilant about teaching my sister and I manners. I have tried hard to make sure my own kids were brought up the same and if I hear one thing about them often, its that they are very polite. This is really important to me. I am however amazed at how many people are lacking a basic simple code of good manners.

What is it with society today that manners seem to have taken a back seat to everything else? Am I alone? Or have you seen this trend as well? I have observed it so much lately,  it seems like it happens on a daily basis. The way I see people talking to each other, the rage I see with fellow drivers, rarely giving courtesy to someone else, its everywhere and it’s really upsetting.

Just yesterday I was at a market and walking out, see a woman who was trying to back out of her parking space but someone else was purposely blocking her, so she got out to see what was going on and the guy told her “you took too long to leave” so now I am going to make YOU wait”. Can you  imagine? He was so incensed and outraged, it was actually scary. He then called her an expletive and angrily got in his car and sped away.

I realize I am powerless but the only thing I can do is to try and lead by example. Always saying please and thank you and showing courtesy and respect, a little kindness goes a long way. What do you have to say about this?

There you have what’s on my mind this Sunday. Anything there get your attention? I so appreciate you making  me a part of your Sunday, I love when I hear from my readers how reading my Sunday post has become a bit of  a special routine they look forward to every Sunday morning.

Trust me, I love putting these posts together just as much as you  might enjoy reading them and when things are uber busy as they are now, this is really my little refuge aka my happy place.

OK off to get busy decorating, enjoy your day and hope you have a wonderful end to your weekend. Until next time…..

PS So many email about the ornaments, it did not go quite as planned in that the new site did not launch when it was supposed to and I decided to put it aside until after Christmas so the blue/white ornaments have been added to my current site  (click here) a few days ago and the colored ornaments can be seen at this post (click here). You can email your order in to Guaranteed Christmas delivery for all orders placed by Dec. 18th.

I  just have to say I have really really earned this day of rest and am  SO happy to not have a single thing I need to do today, best kind of day! I have been to work 6 straight days in a row and  between the porcelains and ornaments, its been a maze of boxes, getting orders out the door and truly a non stop flurry of activity, a fun high energy kind of activity but non stop. 7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY So the holidays are upon us in full force. Once Dec. 1st hits the stressometer goes way up. Days are crazily busy and at the end of a day all I am dreaming of my bed and my pjs, but some days that is just not possible. I come home then have to be somewhere an hour later…no rest for the weary.

Everyone deals with stress differently, for me I love to take a “time out” and often that could be a long bubble bath, settling down with a stack of magazines I missed getting to read, blog hopping and of course always working on my blog because it really is my happy place is a definite stress reliever.

This time of year, stress runs high, everyone feels as though they are being pulled in many directions. It is so important even if its 30 min a way to carve out a little “me time”…amazing how it can invigorate and recharge! So how about you? How do you deal with stress?

So there you have what’s on my mind this week. Anything here resonate? Are you starting to feel the holiday madness creeping in? I just keep telling myself I am doing the best I can, and somehow, someway it always gets done. I am a consummate list maker so this always helps keep me in check.
