Last day to be part of my wonderful giveaway and what a giveaway it is! Will announce the winner tomorrow!

Please look at the bottom of this post for details.

As promised, I am including some “update pictures” at the end of this post below. Camera battery was low so took as many as I could……More to be added in the future as we near?

the “fun stages” which is just around the corner……

?I decided to set aside one day-Thursday (barring of course any urgent decor matter or musing that would have to take its place) to talk about things I am loving at this very minute…week to week, day to day. I am constantly and frequently inspired by so much that on any given day, I have a new love, new obsession or new object of my desire. Sometimes its a look, a theme, a room, a designer, ?or an actual item…so today I have listed the things I am loving this week. Let me know if you feel the same about anything on my list or if you care to share what you are love this week, would love to hear about it….one never stops learning!

ORCHIDS AND FRESH FLOWERS. I was lucky enough while I was sick with the flu to be the recipient of some beautiful flowers from dear friends…maybe that started the “flower bug”. It can also easily be chalked up the miserable and dreary winter, but I am craving any sign of life….in the form of flowering petals. So my husband bought me a gorgeous potted orchid, and I picked up a beautiful arrangement of fresh flowers! Love the instant life it brings to any room or space. ?I LOVE orchids, have always had them in my homes, in my kitchen, living room and occasionally when I am feeling very indulgent in my bathroom. So with my new arrangement of flowers and my new potted orchid…it gave an instant lift!

CANDLES. Moving right along, picked up Charlotte Moss’s new candle, Virginia, not only is it a beautiful candle but its smells and burns wonderfully. So this is another item I am loving this week. Get your hands on it if you are a candle connoisseur like I am.
BATHROOMS. I have been working on the bathrooms….no easy feat. I am making great progress but still have two left to go. One thing I am l am loving this week, for a very small powder room off the library is onyx. I want it to be dark and luxurious (remember this is a very traditional home and off the library), so think onyx could me gorgeous there! I love this rust colored onyx, its so rich and old world looking and you don’t see it coming and going. It also has some green running through it with a hint of honey. In person its quite exquisite and I am imagining it with beautiful moldings, a small dark wood demilune?vanity chest and some beautiful old sconces. Then finish it off with a rich dark wallpaper by Schumacher…which one do you like? What do you think… would LOVE to hear your feedback if you love one over the other! I am really loving all three and could use your expertise!

?? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Moving on…
How cute are these little pagoda style salt and pepper shakers? (Horchow)
SOAP. I am also a serial soap addict….love great soap. Mistral is one of my favorite lines..not overly “perfumey” as some are, but just has enough fragrance. This one is the Lait or milk scent and it is so soft and wonderful…smells like a freshly bathed baby! If you aren’t familiar with this line, I highly suggest you try it. Its an inexpensive indulgence…who knew that a little bar of soap could make me this happy!
BLUE AND WHITE. And last but not least…..I am really in a serious blue and white state of mind. It’s like my blue and white radar is on and I just cannot get enough! So……I ordered these gorgeous blue and white jars! What do you think….I can use them anywhere, but am thinking either in the living room or in my bedroom…..but they will look great anywhere! They are tall bout 24 inches and really wide, which is why like them about 20 inches at their
?widest…love them!
SEATING. What do you think about the idea of having a settee or small love seat incorporated into part of the seating at a breakfast or dining room table? I really like it, it makes it look so inviting and cozy…..its along the lines of banquette seating which I also really like, below are two images..what do you think?
Two love seat type pieces flank a round table and two chairs…its different and interesting.
Love the colors, the lushness of the comfy banquette and cushions, the lantern, the floors and the gorgeous hewn beams.
So that wraps up what I am loving today…..of course tomorrow is a whole new day! Too many pretty things in this world. Then of course having the Internet makes it all so instantly gratifying even if it ?means just keeping a picture of something you lust after to put in your online wish list or photo album….the next best thing to actually owning it! Would love to know if anything here really made you swoon……

Such a majestic home you have. I love the facade and i know it’s such an exciting process to build, isn’t it? Happy Thursday! XX

Way too much pretty for one post. OK, love the vanity for the powder room wtih the onyx and the bottom black field wallpaper, very rich! Love your blue and white jars and the banquette seating too. What I love most though is the house…OMG that is a palace. So so so beautiful. Can’t wait to see more.

It is fabulous, Tina. I’m always excited when I stop by and there’s a house update!! The flooring in the bathrooms are amazing, and I am such a fan of banquette and bench seating in a breakfast room…so cozy and sophisticated!!

Tina,
Love your taste and style. I’m going to have to make a pit stop this summer when I’m in the Hamptons! Super lovely home and I love all the touches you are considering! Fabulous!

First off I love a lot of the same things you do. My favs were the beautiful Charlotte Moss candle and the casual dining space with built-in seat. Thanks for the update on your home. It is just amazing. Every detail over the top. Love, love those floors!

My favorite posts are those with your house updates 🙂 It is really interesting to see the progress being done on it… so beautiful!!!

I have always loved the idea of banquette seating for a breakfast room. Gorgeous pictures of the house! Who did you all use for the windows? I am envious of the push out casements!

Love the bathroom tile – am not familiar with this line – will have to check it out. And love the idea of a settee – my husband is very traditional and wouldn’t even let me do a bench – had to do all chairs!!

Tina,

Love the idea of you sharing what feeds our senses. Flowers, candles, and soaps, I hope one of your posts will include chocolates too!

Onyx flooring with the first wallpaper would be very regal, and lends itself to a feeling of history. Perfect for a powder room off the library.

Banquet seating is very welcoming and cozy and of the two you’ve shown and the space you’ll be filling why not use both!

Love the blue and white jars they are beautiful. They do add a pop of energy no matter where they are placed.

Your Enchanted Home is coming along so nicely you and your family will be very happy there.
A home is really a living entity with the roof as hair, windows as eyes, exterior as skin, and the landscape as feet. While the interior is all the magic of a healthy body which has water, sunlight, food, sound, laughter, children, friends, family, visitors which is, and of course, “Love”.

I am so thrilled you decided to share this journey with us it is a generous act of kindness. As I watch the birds through my windows busy in the soil and shrubs it reminds me of their new enchanted spaces and makes me smile. Dreams are coming true everywhere. Blessings are plentiful you just have to believe.

That is some dream home. Wow truly one of the most beautiful homes I have ever laid my eyes on and we see lots of pretty homes down here in the South! I love all your inspirations, the flowers, the soaps and candle…for the bathroom the red onyx is really gorgeous….love all three papers but I like the one with the gold background most for contrast.
Not a fan of banquette seating in that I don’t think its as comfortable or practical but does look pretty.
Your home is a dream palace. All the best as you move forward on this exciting journey.

This reminds me…I need to take some basement progress photos!

My husband would loooove the loveseat at the table lol but it is a nice idea in place of the built in banquette.

You must be excited at all the progress on your Enchanted Home. Your bathroom tile choices are wonderful. I agree about flowers – I think they ad so much beauty and life to a home. I can only imagine the beautiful arrangements you will decorate your home with.
Happy decorating and bon weekend,
Mimi

Gorgeous in every single detail. I can only imagine how amazing it will be when completed. A dream is the only word I can use to describe it. Like all your “loves of the day” flowers always brighten my mood, love a loveseat at a table and your bathroom choices are to die for.
Where are you? Figuring its the south or north?

Oh my goodness!! Your home is absolutely gorgeous!! Really it is just awesome. I am new to your blog and have been having such a great time reading over your posts. With all of this going on I don’t know where you find the time to blog! I read where you love soaps, I would really like it if you entered my first giveaway. It is all natural organic products which includes many soaps.

Thank you for your lovely message on my blog. I’m so glad it led me to yours! Your new home is gorgeous. I love the idea of a banquette for the breakfast room and the tile for your husbands bathroom is absolute perfection! By the way, I’m your newest follower too!

Hello! You are ‘da woman’ on my blog! Well, at least you are to me. Yes, it looks like The Cookie Contessa is the front runner and to let you in on a secret, it was my favorite too.

I love the banquette. Give me a cup of tea on a rainy day and I’d be there all afternoon.

I love the architectural style of your home. I don’t know how you are handling a project this large and working with the contractor’s, etc. Just thinking of me being in your place makes me want a dozen martinis…pink…with pink paper umbrellas…all at once. hic. It’s the only way I could get through it. You are a warrior! I get in a snit just having someone come over to clean my windows! 🙂 Love your journey.

Holey Moley! Super House! Thank you so much for your comment on my blog. I had read you a bit recently and will now bookmark you and check back regularly.
Brilliant to write a blog about the process of building a house……..I don’t think I’ve seen one yet quite like this…………….your great grandchildren will be able to see it at the very beginning and be amazed at their history!
Bravo!

I have been patiently waiting for the in progress pictures, and the wait was so worth it – wow! So beautiful and grand. The interior spacing are truly soaring, and love the New Ravenna mosaics you are using. Your builder is really meticulous about the cleanliness of the job site – everything is really neat and tidy, very impressive. Can’t wait to see more pictures as it progresses!

My goodness, your home is magnificent!
I feel like I’ve been transported to a grand English estate with superb bath finishings shipped straight from Italy.
This is a mammoth undertaking and you’re doing such a beautiful job.
Do carry on grandly…I’m looking forward to following your journey 😉
Cheers, Alcira

What made me happy this week:

The orange roses my husband gave me for Valentine’s Day, I prefer orange to red and thankfully he remembers this.

A tassel fringe I unearthed with colors of orange, yellow, red and green but all in that antique richness, I honestly can’t stop looking at the colors.

Ok, too many things to mention so…would you please adopt me? I love to cook, garden, the cleaning thing…not so much but I have a lady I’ll bring her with me…lol. Tina my barn is all I could handle at one time so I have no idea how you’re staying sane undertaking that huge project. You’re drunk aren’t you…KIDDING! I wish that’s the state I could have been in half the time. Love your bathroom tile choice I had never heard of that line either…FABULOUS!

And I’m jealous, I see green grass and we still have snow up to our thighs!

I got all excited about the giveaway – i went straight to the bottom of the post – I am following on twtter, commented on facebook, and love the blue and white post..

Now I have to read this post ..:-)

Wonderful post! This house is so grand! The progress pictures are so fun to follow. I love those blue and white jars and hope that you will share the source. I want a pair of these to make into lamps! Have looked so many places for them and yours are the first I have seen that would be ideal!

What a stunning home! You must be so excited. I’d love to know about your architect, there are so many things done right here. Number one – vistas. The view from room to room and on through to outside. Very, very important and often not considered. Obviously your architect is on the ball. Number two – light. Great windows and beautiful spaces that capture the light. You will have lovely afternoons and mornings there.

So nice to watch the progress. Thanks for sharing!

First, let me say that your home is going to be (already is) magnificent! Thank you for taking us along on your journey. I could give a positive comment on each section you covered, but will try not to so as to be as brief as possible. Assuming that the 1st photo under “Bathrooms” is of the onynx, I think the very last wallpaper with the black background would look best (although I really do like the one to the left of it, also). Most likely you’ll have smooth ceilings; wouldn’t it be pretty to pull a color from the wallpaper to paint the ceiling or you could even paper the ceiling. The powder room can be quite opulent…like a jewel box. Next, I recently bought a french settee thinking I’d use it in the master bedroom, but we had to bring it through the kitchen to get there & that’s where it stayed. I love it there!

Goodness i dont know where to start so much that I love! The dark wallpaper was gorgeous & what a cute sink unit. The house is absolutely amazing, looks like a lot of work is going on! oh & pretty orchids, white orchids & Lillies are my favourite 🙂

Your home is looking stunning! I love the bathroom tiles!

Would you mind sharing where you purchased the blue & white jars – I’m always on the lookout!

The flowers are gorgeous!

Oh where do I start??? I adore your blog, it allows me to live vicariously:) I love the first wallpaper. Of course I love ANYTHING oriental! I have collected blue and white porcelains for almost 30 years so I adore your jars! I, too, have a set of pagoda S and P’s but they are plain white ceramic but I do love them!!!! I can imagine that the interiors you will create will be exquisite, your taste is impeccible! I love the deep window sills too! The living room makes my heart happy! XO, Pinky OH! And I have always wished we put bacguet seating in our breakfast room. Love it!
