Good morning….about the house update. We are nearly completely sheet rocked so the fun has just begun. Trimwork started yesterday and the bathrooms are underway…finally getting to the stage where we get to look at the pretty things! I have had enough of raw wood, sawdust, and unfinished spaces to last me a lifetime, its time to button this baby up! I took pictures yesterday and will post them on my post tomorrow.Show me a room that has a pendant lighting that isn’t beautiful. I love them…… they add elegance, soft lighting and a certain sense of proportion to a room. Used everywhere from foyers, to bathrooms and kitchens, you see them in outdoor spaces too. I love pendant lighting for their versatility. In my old house, I had them in my hallway, my foyer, above the staircase and in my breakfast room. I plan to use them once again in abundance in the new house. So today I showcase all the many wonderful ways to use this wonderful lighting. I am contemplating what kind of lighting to use over my center island in the kitchen since logically speaking, this will be and has to be one of the first rooms to complete. I like the idea of a belljar pendant or a large lantern type pendant. The best part? So many manufacturers make them, that they are very affordable and can be had inexpensively…..you don’t need to spend a fortune to get the look, that’s always a big perk! What do you think?(I am also announcing an amazing giveaway on Friday…stay tuned) Pendants can be used anywhere…as shown in this beautiful porch, Joan Behnke Interesting hexagon shaped pendants add interest to this gorgeous kitchen Round globe like pendants add a funky modern touch to this otherwise traditional kitchen, Bacco Four industrial inspired looking pendants complement the stainless center island Suzanne Kasler used pendant lighting in this beautiful gray painted butlers pantry Pretty lampshades over these pendants gives a warm and inviting, country feel to this kitchen, Mark Maresca Pendant lighting was used in this grand living room on the timbered beams Gorgeous over sized square pendants used here for this pretty dining area, Kohler A more industrial type pendant light was used for this classic white kitchen Skinny pendants are used strictly for effect, obviously not much light from these babies,Craig Lovell photographer Four black pendants is used to carry the black theme and offer a bold geometric shape to the room, Mark Maresca Pendants always look great in a hallway/public space especially in pairs, Bacco Pendants work in this shabby chic bathroom, Decorpad A pair of large scaled lanterns was used in this beautiful kitchen, Dillon Kyle Oversized bamboo pendant lighting works well with this dining room, Decorpad If its good enough for Ralph (yes Ralph Lauren) then they are good enough for me!
