Hello there, Hope your week is off to a wonderful start. I can’t believe its time for our monthly, By Invitation Only! This months theme was a welcomed one, Flowers and Fashion. The idea is to talk about a favorite go to spring outfit and how flowers influence our life. This is right up my alley!

by-invitation-only

First off I don’t just love flowers. I L O V E flowers. I think I could get more excited over a huge bouquet of peonies, hydrangeas and french tulips than I would a fancy piece of jewelry. Seriously…I just love them, need them and have to have them. If you have been following my blog for any length of time you know that flowers are a big part of me, my life and how I like to live. They provide endless beauty and inspiration.

So first a favorite go to outfit, well here are two boards on things? I would love to wear? for spring….. one for daytime where I added a little floral lace (about as much floral as I think I would wear for daytime casual)? and the second board is? what I would wear to a beautiful springy affair or ladies luncheon, where florals rule!

OB-spring

Neutrals are big for me, though I often throw in some color, love capris and versatile tops, a short classic trench is a must have, loving that gingham and lacy top…..perfect for spring!

And for a ladies springy luncheon or spring time affair…

OB-springy dresses

Every dress shown is from Dolce and Gabanna, loving this look and paired with? a gorgeous white hat, a pale pink birkin…..tres chic!

Onto the second part of this post which is how do we incorporate flowers into our every day life? Its more like how don’t they influence my life! I have to have flowers, whether its a single bloom picked from a random bush in my yard or a bouquet of whatever is in season.

As many of you know I love orchids and have both real and my own very good faux orchids. Besides those, lately I have been buying hydrangeas,? cyclamen and topiary azaleas. I have found myself buying more flowering plants than stems just because of how much longer they last and I love that you can put them into the ground when they are done flowering and cross your fingers for what might surprise come spring!

With the recent burst of semi warm weather (50’s is downright tropical) I went on a little flower spree…..here is a glimpse into what I got-

Backseat of my car, pretty typical when I go flower hunting-

Love when my counter is full of flowers ready to start planting and arranging in my containers, one thing I have no shortage of:)

Green apples, blue and white and white hydrangeas to me is a near perfect combination!

Just gorgeous! I too am obsessed with flowers and feel starved for them after this very long, very cold winter. Can’t wait for things to start greening up again. You should definitely pursue your greenhouse idea, that way you can have things in bloom all year long.

Love your taste in clothing and those dresses are to die for. Your flowers are all so beautiful and you have put me in the mood to go to my local garden center and do the same, my house could use some spring inspiration, and finally it feels like the weather is starting to thaw. I am so excited! Thank you for this beautiful post, Tina.

Hi Tina, Knew I would love your take on this topic. We are two girls with the same heart when it comes to the subject of flowers. I must have them. I’m with you, to me they mean more than jewelry. The people at my corner grocer know me because I am there almost every day buying some kind of flower to replenish our stock – cut tulips for blue and white all around the house. Hyacinth and jonquil bulbs for all kinds of containers. Soon it will be peonies. Can’t wait. Spring feels like it’s made for wearing flowers – I love putting on a pretty floral dress. Your Dolce picks are so pretty.

Hope you have a gorgeous flowery day, my friends. Here’s to flower power… and to spring! XOXO

Classic choices, I love the daytime looks, they can take you through a casual weekend getaway with a dress thrown in for evening. Tina your florals for the home are always perfection!

Hello Tina…simply stunning…a home is not a home for me unless there are fresh cut flowers; I love the pink azalea topiary, so pretty and your kitchen is AMAZING πŸ™‚
Have a wonderful week!

you are so right about the green apples and blue and white combo–it’s perfect indeed and so so simple. i am busier than ever (more bout that later) and always appreciate the positivity i find here among the enchanted. love to you.

Wow Tina, your kitchen looks like a flower market with all of those gorgeous blossoms! I do enjoy fashion and flowers and you’ve picked some of the prettiest of both. Changing the wardrobe and home seasonally is so much fun. I agree about purchasing potted plants ~ I spend way too much on stems that only last a week or so. Hope you are enjoying the “warmer” weather πŸ˜‰

not only are you a big flower girl (bravo!) your sense of fashion tina is a hit every time!
happy 50 degrees!

Beautiful images Tina ?. fabulous Spring fashion and my favourite hydrangeas ?. I love the pale, dusty pink ones. We have clear blue skies and reasonably warm temperatures here in the UK today ?? Spring is here. XXXX

Sorry Tina ?? the above comment was from me ?. I forgot to put my details in so I came out anonymous !!!! Your hydrangeas made me forget !!!! haha XXXX

I believe it is continually bringing fresh flowers in the house that helps me get through until spring. How did I end up living in a snow belt region my whole life anyway.
I adore all of the large floral pieces for this spring and summer, especially the vivid colours on dark and anything pink. Just purchased a pair of Guess Malden sport slip on shoes in floral – can’t wait to switch the boots out and get walking.

Tina… I love your taste in clothes as well as flowers. I’m going to look for one of those blooming topiaries – so pretty. Love the touch of the green apples as well. BTW.. I voted for you. Enjoy your week.

Always PERFECT. That is the way I see you, Tina. I’m loving the topiary azalea with your blue & white containers. The outfits had my heart skipping a beat, you bested me on this one as I only did a day-time run around outfit. WHAT WAS I THINKING????
You light up our lives, my lady. Thank you for being a BIG part of our international blog group.

Totally divine Tina,
Your pots are so beautiful… I need to be doing that in London, I could do with a feel od spring inside…
I’ll email you later, I am coming to NY in Aprila nd am hopeful we can get together.. πŸ™‚ xv

So happy that you are getting a chance to buy flowers – 50 must be heavenly! Love all of your clothing picks and adore the Burberry espadrilles!

Gorgeous, Tina! The fashions, the flowers….all just perfection. I am tossing aside my black every day winter jacket and reaching for my petal pink cloth coat. Putting my black bag in storage and pulling out one of my lighter bags. Love navy and ended up in that today!

Love the flower/blue and white pot combinations. It always looks so fresh. There were days this winter that flowers really cheered me up and kept me optimistic about warmer, Spring days. The snow is melting!!!

xoxo Elizabeth

Hello Tina my dear …you have sent the ‘flower power’ across the world today. Spring is my favourite season, and the sun has been shining just in time for the earliest blossom, and spring flowers in the garden

.. it is so true, that the beauty of flowers entice the senses and make me happy. I must have flowers in my home or flowering plants, just like you. Your azalea topiary is divine what a lovely gift

I hope you will continue with your warmer weather,
Sally xxx

Love all the flowers and especially in the containers!
BTW…as much as I love Azaleas and being from NC we grow alot of them here, that topiary looks like a Camellia bush. They’re so beautiful!

Hello, my wonderful friend!

I am sorry I haven’t being here with the same frequency… I love your blog, but I am working so much lately. I hope you understand. πŸ™‚

Honestly, Tina.. it was almost as if I could smell the flowers! What a beautiful post!

Thank you for putting this together for us. You know how to make our day feel a little more special!

Hi Tina – now this truly is luxury: to have such a plethora of glorious flowers and I did laugh at your comment about running out of places to put them!

Funny, your spring day outfit is actually quite perfect for our Autumn days, which we are now enjoying in the Southern Hemisphere. Currently obsessed with navy and indigo blue (not that I can use that in my client’s colour schemes necessarily, but I am loving wearing it myself).

Yet another fabulous topic from the fabulous Marsha.

As always, there is just too much beauty to mention…of course, as you say yourself, when flowers are concerned we can never have too much of a good thing! πŸ˜‰

While I have never worn a floral print in my life, I am crazy for those gorgeous Dolce dresses…

Hydrangeas are my favorite! They are both soft and bold, if that’s possible. I once had an opportunity to visit the Wholesale Flower Mart in Los Angeles with my sister-in-law. Sheer bliss!!
