Days are getting busy over here! I had a nice birthday, though I woke up with the start of an intense migraine so did not have quite the day I had planned (friends taking me out for lunch) but instead they came to me and made it feel special. I got in so many beautiful flowers and lovely gifts I felt despite the headache like a birthday princess:) Last night my family took me out, and with my headache completely gone….it was the perfect way to end my special day.

So we are in full blown gift wrapping season. I cannot lie I am WAY behind, only have 3 gifts wrapped. But this little elf will get the job done! Some of my gifts cannot be wrapped and because we are not going to be here this year for Christmas, many are being sent. I get a lot of emails about my gift wrapping (thank you). It is incredibly flattering to know you like it. I try to get creative and do something different, each time. Even if its a small touch….it is often those little extra somethings that elevate the gift giving experience.

With the gift season to end all gift seasons slowly descending upon us…this post felt timely. I thought it would be fun to share with you some of my tried and true tips and also seek your advice/gift wrapping tips as well….afterall it is the exchange of information that makes what I do so rewarding and fun!

So here are some of my “tips” that are tried and true-

THE GIFTWRAP-

I either? buy it wholesale but also sometimes buy it at? Marshalls and TJ Maxx. ! I must say in recent years their selection has been just amazing and so often when people ask about my giftwrap and where I bought it expecting to hear a fancy little paper shop…it is 90% of the time one of those two.

I buy their rolls by the 6’s and 12’s (around Christmas especially). They are so well priced and with the right ribbons and adornments make make a gift look incredibly beautiful. I do have not a fancy little giftwrap room though I sure would love one but I do give my giftwrap a very special container to house them in- (my chinoiserieie umbrella stand from my shop)

THE RIBBON-

Very important! A great big luxurious bow on a gift can make it so special.I bought a large shipment of blue and white gingham for my business (somewhat my signature ribbon) however I have bought beautiful satin, taffeta and velvet ribbon online at places like Amazon and Ebay.

This year I am staying with an ivory, blue and mossy green theme, hence my ribbons stacked up and ready to go!

THE ADORNMENTS-

These are what puts the crowning touch on a gift. I collect things starting in Nov. Everything from sprigs of evergreen to tiny ornaments, wood initials, pretty gift tags, berries, candy canes,? you name it……just about anything works.? I always have a stash of these adornments to add to gifts. My favorites though have to be pinecones and sprigs of fresh greens, simply elegant!

Gift tags- Love my gifttags from LB Originals….they are the perfect finishing touch and dictated my ribbon choices this year. Click here to visit and order LB Originals of your very own.

STORAGE-

Ahhhh, this? is the tricky part. I have learned the hard way and come a long way from when my entire kitchen island is taken over by wrapping paper gone wild, acres of ribbon, adornments, tape, scissors, you name it. It was not a pretty sight.

I have learned a few tricks along the way. Until I have a designated wrapping room which honestly given how much I love to wrap, I technically should have one. But until then I like to put all my wrapping paper in my chinoiserie umbrella stand which keeps it nice and tidy.

Ribbons go in my new storage containers from Decor Market (also great for my many fabric/trim samples) and so affordable, love the wonderful little wicker basket-

Here are some other really great ideas that everyone can do-

This is such a neat idea if you if you cannot have a full on wrapping room like 99.9% of the population:)

Yes, this post does have me excited to start wrapping gifts! Like you, I also collect embellishments when I run across them and agree that it definitely upgrades the wrapping. It is exciting and fun to be creative. btw, the uber wrapping room I’ve swooned over is Candy Spellings!

I think I got a headache just scrolling through all of that sensory overload! Phew! One was more stunning than the next. My gift wrap secret this year was Target! My daughter (has her own stationery business) discovered that one of her high quality suppliers was partnering with Target – Sugar paper. Some really fun, young stylish papers! I bought the snow hat wrap paper – adorable!

SUCH WONDERFUL INSPIRATION!! I am a fairly good wrapper and do love my ribbon…Just not good at adding the embellishments…how do you attach the pinecones and other neat things on your packages? I wrap early and love to see them under the tree before the mayham hits!

Have a wonderful Holiday…and a Blessed New Year…

Nancy

Gorgeous wrapping ideas and inspiration Tina! A beautifully wrapped gift is such a thrill for the recipient no matter what is inside!!

I do love a beautifully wrapped package; it’s so exciting! But working two jobs leaves me barely time to wrap any gift with just the barest of adornment, aka, a bow and maybe a ribbon if I’m feeling especially “daring!” Plus I have family members that barely look at the package wrapping and are more intent on just ripping off the paper. Heavy sigh! But I do so love a beautiful package. I did see a new idea in one of the Hoffman publications that I might try. They had a picture of packages this Christmas, using white lacey doilies. it looked elegant and so exquisite. I think I’ll try that on a few packages and see how it turns out.
Merry Christmas to you! And thank you for all your inspiring blogs and Christmas packages! (I too, am envious of those great looking wrapping rooms/spaces on this blog…wow!!!)

merry merry, tina. love this inspiration, and i think my fav is the corrugated kraft paper with navy ribbon and evergreen sprig. so crisp and lovely. i have been traveling and hope to catch up on blogs soon. peace to you this day!

Tina, I love everything you just posted. Your presents are gorgeous. Do you attach the pinecones with hot glue? I love love pine cones and would like to add to gifts this years.

Yes, loads of great ideas for bringing gift giving to a beautiful level. Thank you, Tina.

PS Maybe Santa can bring a new pair of scissors to whomever wrapped the Nutcracker bow:) And the green satin bow too! Otherwise they are lovely!

So happy you had a nice birthday! And I’m loving all the wrapping ideas you have here! My MIL used to have her own wrapping room and it was so much fun to go in there! She had everything you could possibly need to wrap any gift all year long!

Hi Tina,
What a wonderful post, with so many ideas we use for inspiration. I love that you, in all of your posts, show us that even though your have a large home, your kitchen island is the place where it all happens!!! Most of us do wrap on the island, or the dining table, or the pool table, etc. Yes, it would be so nice to have a dedicated wrapping room, but, I love wrapping in the heart of the home.

Thank you for always providing beautiful inspiration, and happy holidays to you. Vi

Tina, I am working on a “supply room” for things like wrapping paper:)

My life is so busy now that things are scattered.. but I do have the essentials – good scissors, pretty paper, and those adornments. Love the satin with the fresh greens!

Thanks, Tina, for a great post. I am officially inspired to start wrapping. This year I’m doing craft paper, red satin ribbon and adorning the most special packages with a trove of hand-stitched ornaments I found in a long lost box of my late mother’s needlework. Happy, happy holidays!

Tina,
First off?.happy, happy birthday!!!!! I hope the headaches have subsided and that you are in full fledged fun-mode! I adore your wrapping choices, techniques and toppings! I just finished wrapping a bunch for my husband and I had fun adding little “hints” on the labels! Just something fun. I was so happy wrapping that I realized this is something I really. do. love! So?.need to snap some photos and get them on Insta!

I have inlaws arriving on Sunday (for a week!) and thought it was a great idea to host the neighbors for a holiday cocktail party tomorrow (can’t help myself). So?.full fun mode over here.

Merry merry!
xoxo Elizabeth
