Excited to be here with another chapter of major progress on the PB house front. Seeing all this really makes me wish I was there right now, and I just might have to jump on a plane one day very soon to watch them put in the carpet:)

We are really down to the finish line right now……and yes, it’s really exciting and so hard to believe that we are just about done! All kinds of great things have happened lately, the stair railings were installed (love them) and the lighting, hardware is being finished.

The landscaping just started and that will really put the finishing touches on our home. I am so looking forward to going down and seeing a nearly completed home:)  We have ordered some furniture and that should be delivered mid May, but I do want to be able to spend some time there before I make decisions on things like colors for fabrics, window treatments, wallpaper, etc……

Any way enough of my talking let me show you what is new and exciting and this is probably the most exciting progress week of them all with so much happening at once-

Mirror installed in husbands bath

Subway tile added to back pantry/kitchen and look at this beautiful pull we are using

Stair hall sconces (Circa lighting)

Love the main stair railing!

Today I am going to talk about window treatments. A popular option for “down south” are plantation/hurricane shutters. I actually like the look a lot, its clean and easy and practical for some spaces.

But for my bedroom and a few other areas like the kitchen and baths I like to see some addition of fabric, something a little softer that can add color and/or a print-

For the kitchen think this could be so pretty, not sure if I want this much pattern but it sure is pretty:)

We have an upstairs window seat/landing and would love to create this look below

For my bathroom I will do a simple pull down shade (for privacy) and would love to do something pretty like this over it for a decorative touch

Always been a fan of this look for bathrooms and bedrooms, feels so clean and spa like

The colors below are so pretty and soothing

One of my favorite looks, a beautiful wide tape on a simple clean solid roman shade

So as you can see we have had busy busy days over at the PB house and still lots of decisions left to make. Lots going on and it’s all so exciting, just wish I were there. I will not lie, at times it can be really daunting to have to make so many important decisions from afar. It is not for the faint of heart, you kind of have to plunge right in, trust your instincts and cross your fingers:)

Tina, it looks fabulous! I LOVE the fabric that you mentioned for the kitchen, it is gorgeous!

It is just lovely, Tina. You don’t know how excited I get when a blog post pops up in my e-mail with the title “Bluff Diaries!” I can only IMAGINE how excited you are!! I have loved watching it all come together. Thank you so much for sharing with your readers. Anxiously awaiting the next “Chapter!” Blessings from Missouri!!!

I took all of the plantation shutters out of my house. You cannot put anything in front of them or they will not open. They are VERY bulky, always in the way!!!

“Dear Pinterest, There is nothing I would like more than a big, beautiful chandelier in my master bedroom, but I cannot give up my ceiling fan. Love, The South.” I saw this on the inter webs. Absolutely true! Beautiful selections all, Tina.

Hi Tina, Your PB home is beautiful. I have a question regarding paint color. Are you using SW Alabaster on the walls, ceiling and trim? Also, what sheen are you using (Flat, Eggshell or Satin or semi gloss)? You have exquisite taste. I am looking forward to seeing it all complete. Thanks for sharing!

Tina, I love your PB home and of course all your choices are so beautiful! I’m keeping your list just in case I should be so lucky as to do something in that area. I have close ties in Beaufort and Kiawah. So enjoy your blog. Christy

I am sure that all the decisions, some made from afar, can be a daunting task. But you have impeccable taste and everything looks beautiful. I especially like the Roman Shade with the wide tape; it is simple and clean. Not so sure about that fabric for the kitchen; it might be a bit too much print. I also like the way the ceiling fan’s light makes a design on the ceiling. Can’t wait to see the grass go down and really complete the look. Look forward to seeing your furniture and flooring coverings in the future. Teddy would have loved his second home-somewhere new to explore.

Hi Tina………you will surely make fabulous family memories in his beautiful PB home. Such a fun project!
Can you please tell me the source for your lucite pulls?
Can’t wait to see the landscaping installed

With all the beautiful details, have you considered an elevator….or did I miss it? It’s becoming more of a basic item in two-story houses. We can’t do that in our house, but bought a chairlift to accommodate future needs and more immediately, guests/relatives who struggle with stairs. Just wondering. The house is just stunning.

Just beautiful!! I got so many ideas. In the home stretch. Can’t wait to see the final product!!

Can’t wait to see everything finished. Accents\Details etc. Love the progress! ?

So pretty! You will love being in that area. I have always lived in the South and have found the plantation shutters to be both beautiful and useful. Have them in home now and had them in our home in the Beaufort S.C. beach area and enjoyed them.

Tina it is ALL so beautiful I cannot decide which new development I love the most. You have done a spectacular job and to think you did this remotely is doubly impressive. We built a home in New Canaan, CT. and my decision. making progress drove everyone crazy and it extended our building time to over 8 months over what we had planned so my hat is off to you. Every single detail is perfect.

Just beautiful. I’m sure you can’t wait to plop yourself down on that lovely screened in porch. I love the fabric for the kitchen. I don’t think it would be too busy

Beautiful progress. I love all the decisions you have made, I don’t think I could do it from far away and give you credit. Everything has turned out beautiful, I am sure you are very excited to move in.

Do you mind sharing the paint color for the exterior of your house? It’s appears to be the perfect creamy white!

Your PB home is stunning, Tina! I love the cream and blue exterior…especially those shutters! Gorgeous!

This is such a fun project to follow along with! I love how everything is coming out, so beautiful and so appropriate for an elegant coastal home, cannot wait to see the furnishings go in.
BTW got my custom orchid and mini lamps from you last week and they exceeded expectations. Beautiful is an understatement.

Tina the house is coming out so beautiful,if you’re ever in Greenville,I would love to show you around.Met you in Stamford, fun evening.

Tina, PB is gorgeous!! I admire your thought process throughout this project. You have painstakingly chosen every detail. You & your family will soon enjoy your efforts! ❤️Lucite hardware, please share source. Thank you!!

It’s all so beautiful! I love the plantation shutter idea. We have them in a few rooms and it’s such a crisp clean look.
