Hope this finds you doing well, having such a great time here in PB. This is my longest stay to date and  and already am feeling sad to be going back to NY. I am definitely in a different state of mind here and it’s just good for my soul:)

But of course there are things about NY I love and it’s soon going to be time to get back to my office, we have so much going on (lots of exciting things) and many things coming in so it’s time to roll up my sleeves and get to work to prepare for the bustling holiday season ahead. Moving along to this weeks Seven on Sunday…………

————————————————————-

1 A COOKING SCHOOL I WOULD LOVE TO ATTEND So I have long admired the life and style of Mimi Thorisson, who moved to the idyllic French countryside with her entire brood including many kids and pets:) She has since opened up a cooking school aka workshops and I am dying to go! I have her book and adore it, her cooking style is French but user friendly and with simpler preparations than most think of when it comes to French cooking.

I know someone who went last summer and she said it was one of the best experiences of her life. I am hoping to work out going possibly next summer. It is on my bucket list for sure and to be able to live in the counryside of Medoc, France for a week sounds heavenly!!

There was a great recap on one of her participants who attended her cooking classes, the pictures are fantastic and she gives a great overview as to what a special experience it was. Click here to read about it over at Butterfly In The Spring.

Below are a few excerpts of some of what is offered, if this doesn’t entice you, don’t know what will! I can have my suitcase packed in minutes! Click here for more info.

2 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST Such beauty this weekend, I love scouring Instagram for what I deem as my absolute faves. Sometimes its hard to narrow it down, but I eventually do:)  Here are this weeks picks-

3 A RECIPE WORTH SHARING AGAIN By popular demand- I have shared this a few times in the past but I still get frequent requests for where to find it. My Caesar salad is honestly the best I have ever had and I know that is really saying something…..but it is really that good.

I got this from the famed Waterlot Inn in Bermuda and let me tell you now….this is GOOD. I will make it and add a protein to it as a meal or if I have guests, will serve this as the salad prior to dinner. It is ALWAYS a hit. I have had many come back to tell me just how much they loved it and an equal number asking for the recipe.

The amazing Caesar Salad

INGREDIENTS-

Small tin of anchovies
3 large garlic cloves
3 generous tablespoons mayonnaise
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
Freshly squeezed lemon juice (2 lemons)
Worcestershire Sauce to taste
Salt and pepper to taste
1 1/2 cups good mild olive oil
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese, plus additional cheese to mix in to the salad (sometimes I add more because it makes it that good)
Croutons
Romaine hearts

For the dressing, place the garlic and anchovies (dump entire tin with the oil) in the food processor and blend until smooth. Then add mayo, mustard, lemon juice, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper and process until smooth. With the food processor running, slowly pour the olive oil through the feed tube and process until thick. Add 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese and pulse 3 times.

Toss the lettuce with enough dressing to moisten well. Add a generous amount of grated Parmesan and croutons. Toss and enjoy!

4. A NEW WALLPAPER  THAT I AM A BIT OBSESSED WITH! I saw this first Thibaut beauty on Instagram and fell in love, the combinations of the blue and whites with that mossy green I so love instantly got my attention. I then ordered a sample and a  sample of the fabric as well because well….you never know! Since it is shocking that I do not have one blue and white room in my house, I started thinking maybe changing out my powder room. It has been almost 7 years after all. Yet I really do love my powder room as it is now too so am. torn.

Maybe you can weigh in and help me make a decision! Here first are the pictures that drew me in on Instagram and then a sample of it in my bathroom (these are from Mainehouseinteriors on Instagram, click here to see them)

And then my bathroom-

5. DEAR EVAN HANSEN If you haven’t seen it, you simply must! I will be the first to tell you, it is very emotional and will pull at your heart strings. It is a unbelievably well done play that shines light on anxiety, depression and suicide. A tough subject to discuss but one that must (and thankfully is) being brought out onto the forefront of daily conversation. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house, but I would see it again tomorrow.

The acting was the best I have seen on Broadway, cannot imagine how emotionally draining it must be to play that role, but the service they are doing is priceless. No wonder this play has won so many awards, including taking home the most Tony awards last award season. AMAZING play! Click here to fid out more about Dear Evan Hansen.

6. MY NEW HOLIDAY GIFTWRAP AND ORNAMENTS. So many of you have been asking about these. For those who missed on the presale, I am happy to announce everything is finally now online to preorder!

These will be here in about 3 weeks and this way you are guaranteed your order as last year we sold out of a lot faster than expected. Click here for holiday gift wrap and here for ornaments  (look on left where they are categorized by color). SO excited about this gorgeous collection!

And we have been getting a lot of calls/emails about the ginger jar and pagoda salt and peppers, they are going up for sale either Monday night or Tuesday morning. Please check back, we will send out a mailer and will announce it via instagram.

7. SUNDAY’S SURVEY Ok this is paper vs machine. Do you put everything (your calendar and schedule on a device such as your phone, computer or iPad)? Or are you “old school” and put everything down on paper. I have to confess, I still do things old school.

I don’t know if its because I am a creature of habit of what, but I still kind of like writing things down…sound crazy? Now I will also confess lately I have been considering the bold move (for me) to start putting everything on my phone, I can see the ease of having it at your fingertips and love the reminders, which with my increasingly hectic schedule would be really nice. So……..curious where you stand on this?

I always love your Instagram discoveries-great ones to follow! And the wallpaper is amazing!! Happy Sunday!!

Suzy Urban on

Absolutely love the wallpaper. I am casting a glance around my own home for a place to use it or the fabric. I was one of the “life is too short” votes. I keep everything on my devices. The calendar is in the cloud so I can retrieve it on the laptop, my iPad or phone. But I keep lists using paper and pencil, so I’m still a hybrid. Enjoy your remaining time in PB – such a beautiful time of year here in the South.

Lisa on

I look forward to your Sunday post every week!

Today’s post was everything!! Mimi, the salad, the wallpaper (thinking I have the prefect room to use it), holiday wrapping I will need to do. You ticked all my boxes to start a rainy sunday

Alice Genzlinger on

Tina, this is your best post ever! I love Mimi and her cooking school. The dogs, the children, the photography. Everything. Your Caesar salad recipe is in my future as it’s always my first choice for salad. Your picks for the week are the best also. Do I sound like I LOVE your posts? I do and look forward to each one and soak up all the goodness.

About your wallpaper, my personal experience is that a room with a tight pallette sends a subliminal message that all not is welcome here. The more chances you have to add more colors the better.. Using one fabric that gives you the permission to pull in more color is almost always a good idea. Don’t get me wrong I have followed you since the beginning and designed my home while you were building yours so you were a huge influence. Your home is wonderfulrful!

Rose Frasher on

Awesome post!

I would refresh your powder room with the new wallpaper.

I have everything on my devices including all of my clients’ files, 3D designs, purchases, etc. Even take notes on phone while at/with client. It too is in the cloud so accessible on any device. Anything related to our business is also accessible on my business partners’ devices.

Kimberly on

Loved your Sunday post as always! I am definitely old school, and keep a beautiful month at a glance calendar on my desk. I tried putting all dates on my iPhone, but the written entries are so much easier to keep track of.

Hi Tina
I LOVE Caesar Salads. Your dressing sounds great. Does it keep well in the refrigerator for a few days.

Thanks for all your inspiration. You are truly gifted.

Deb on

What is the name of that wallpaper? Love it.

Dear Tina, as usual you have proven to be a woman of my own heart, as I too love Mimi Thorisson, love her book which sits on my kitchen counter and have also dreamed of going to her workshop in France. I can’t wait to read the other blog post you linked about it. Funny too, I’m going to New York in a few weeks and my daughter-in-law mentioned I need to see Dear Evan Hansen. I’m happy to know that such a powerful subject with such a serious subject matter can be handled in a way that it also provides entertainment. Broadway here I come.

Love, love, love the wallpaper!

Since you asked: I absolutely love the love the Thibaut wallpaper and may use it in my country house. My opinion your powder room is just perfect, elegant and fits the formality of your home..so I would not change it. Why not a place in PB?

I can’t wait to order the salt and pepper Jinger Jar shakers!

I’m in love with the wallpaper. I didn’t know about the play but am adding it to my ‘must do’ list (written list, not electronic!) for my next trip East.

I love your powder room the way it is. How about your laundry room? We spend a lot of time in that room!

In regard to your survey, I love using the luxe weekly planner pad by Roseanne Beck. Have you seen all the cute blue and white/chinoiserie designs she has on her to-do lists and notepads? Sooo cute! Just bought a notepad with a ginger jar on it today!

Life is too short! If you are bored with your wallpaper…change it! Personally, they both are beautiful…
