Hello! Reporting live from Palmetto Bluff, the timing just felt ripe!  Can you believe it’s already  October 4th! This was a fun visit, but it just never seems long enough, I always leave wanting to stay longer  We had family here and a few visiting relatives for a couple of days which was loads of fun, love having a full house, that is what vacation homes are meant for!

My lazy days of bike riding, going to the pool, golf cart rides and just relaxing mean more than ever, since I feel like so much of my “regular life” is spent working. They just built pickle ball court so that is next up when I am there. Used to be an avid tennis player but have a partially torn ACL so need to be very careful! I miss playing so much.

Best place ever to relax and unwind. And apparently Justin  Bieber and now Hailey Bieber agree:) Their wedding took place over the weekend and yes,  it definitely impacted the normally low key, peaceful vibe but to be honest, it was admittedly,  kind of exciting especially when you have two young adults with you who know everything there is to know about what’s going down. During one of our golf cart rides, my sister and I  started talking to someone who was involved in the planning and  she even allowed us sneak peek at the setup the night before which was gorgeous (included here)!

The security was very tight and the day of the wedding also brought in the local police in addition to all the celebrity security so that was day pretty hectic with a loud buzz in the air, and yes that included the paparazzi up above in helicopters which we all found super annoying.  I must admit it was nice when things started settling down and getting back to normal a few day days later,  back to my little,  peaceful, tranquil oasis:)

This is unlike most of the Bluff Diaries, as this one takes place all around Palmetto Bluff with a few house pictures thrown in for good measure! So. here is  a look at some of the highlights from this last week…..

Everywhere you look, there is something to take a pretty pictures of! including all the beautiful  docks and classic wood boats

This picture signifies a big victory…didn’t think we could grow hydrangeas, as we tried when we first moved and in one single night the deer enjoyed a great smorgasbord of every single hydrangea in our yard. Not one to give up, we moved them closer to the house and we are actually enjoying beautiful blooming hydrangeas!

We have a darling market called RT’s which is filled with just about everything you could really need.

Above is part of the little “downtown” and features the relic of the 20,000 acre estate that RT Richard Wison had bought and built on, click here for the fascinating history

Driving around one early morning got the prettiest pictures of the natural beauty that abounds, especially the mammoth oaks dripping with moss

Part of the little town which seriously is like a Mayberry to adults, we were here very early morning but normally it inevitably includes tourists taking pictures of this charming and iconic spot

Rocking chairs and fans….YES!

Doing what I love most….sitting at the absolutely beautiful pool. I tend to go late in the day when only a few people are there and it is so unbelievably relaxing.

The pool club has a beautiful community room above open to all residents and this pretty porch below

Boating is a big part of life in Palmetto Bluff, here below is the beautiful and elegant Grace, which features late morning mimosa and sunset cocktail cruises. This boat has a pretty illustrious history, click here to read about it

And here is a sneak peek at the set up of the Beiber/Baldwin rehearsal dinner/pre wedding party where they came over on a fleet of Hinckleys and had a oyster roast under the stars…this was done at Mooreland which is a beautiful picture perfect spot right on the water, so chic! We were able to get a quick tour as they were setting up, such fun!

Part of the beautiful Montage

And above are part of the regular hotel rooms across the water, not a bad room in the house!

Was able to test out my new candle in PB and it is a winner! Filled with 80 oz of our favorite best selling scent, love it in the cane wicker which when done, makes a most wonderful hurricane or flower vase! (will be on shop site in about a week)

How pretty is this tray that my sister brought me along with a few other goodies! It was meant for my kitchen:)

Added my beautiful new ivory quatrefoil planter with Greek key trim and orchids to my living room console, fits right in!

By now you know how much I love my porch, we sit there almost every morning and almost every late afternoon

Prettiest sunsets!

Miss that view already

Beiber church set up! It really looked beautiful and so very charming

This was taken the morning of so just as they were getting started…

And speaking of weddings, a few days before the “big wedding” we were having lunch at Buffalos and got to witness the most charming southern wedding, it was just beautiful!

The nightly smores cart is a regular stop after dinner, offered every single night of the week, always a white with visiting guests!

And there is nothing quite like a low country sunset, isn’t this gorgeous, no filter required!

Absolutely beautiful…have never been to Palmetto Bluff but after reading this post & seeing these pictures…hmmm might have to plan a trip !!!!?

I think you must be a Southerner at heart.,…..pine trees, hydrangeas and live oaks! We visit Palmetto Bluff often and love its proximity to Savannah. It’s a great place to relax! Hope they will give their golf course some attention soon!

Palmetto Bluff should put you on the payroll, you make this looks so enticing I want to jump on a plane !

We were there two years ago and fell in love . One of my husbands partners sold their place in Naples and bought in Palmetto Bluff they were not Florida people and really enjoy their time there, part time.

Love what you have done in your home, and what fun to be there for the celebrity nuptials!

Hi Tina

Lucy

Thank you so much for these lovely and relaxing photos – and those of the Bieber preparations – that had to be fun and exciting. I so enjoyed this “visit” to Palmetto Bluff. Now I have to watch for the candle!

OK Tina, Since you are living in the South Carolina Low Country part time, no Coastal home is not complete without Charleston Sweetgrass baskets or at least 1 or 2 to have on your kitchen counter !!!! They make great serving pieces too for a cookout !!!

Palmetto Bluff is so charming, as is your gorgeous home. I love everything about it!! Happy weekend!

Tina, this was a beautiful post! I took a mini vacation and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the boat “Grace”! The views are just, WOW ? What a blessing it is for you and your loved ones to be able to spend time at such a lovely place. Thank you so much for sharing. Wishing you a beautiful Autumn ???

Hi, Tina!
What a beautiful blog and such a delightful entry about the absolute beauty and wonder of Palmetto Bluff! It’s the most magical place! My daughter, Emily Mourad Barfuss and her new husband, my precious son in law, Brian Barfuss, were the beautiful couple featured in your entry, who had a beautiful wedding there on Saturday. We had a lovely rehearsal dinner at the Golf Club on Thursday, an amazing Welcome party at the May River Guest House poolside on Friday night, their precious ceremony at the May River Chapel on Saturday, followed by a gorgeous cocktail hour on the lawn across from the ruins, and then trolleys took our guests to Moreland for a beautiful reception! Our wonderful wedding planner, Kelli Corn, (Kelli Corn Weddings and Events) in Bluffton, SC, where PB is located, made all of our dreams come true! We are so happy to see your beautiful pictures of them coming out of the chapel! The entire wedding weekend was a dream. Thank you for sharing your sweet pictures! The kids have returned to NYC where they live, and we’re tickled to see them on your beautiful blog! We are delighted to share your blog with family and friends! Take Care!
