Hi friends, hope you all had a happy Mother’s Day even if it was a bit different for some of us. It sure was for me, but I made the most of it and it will make next year’s that much sweet and more meaningful.

We had the good fortune about 2 weeks ago of having a beautiful warm spring day,  and I took full advantage of it by deciding to set a table for our very first alfresco table. I had all the “ingredients”, all my melamine, flatware, basket weave vases/hurricanes, salt and peppers and even a new tablecloth.

I found some pretty white flowers at my local market and I was ready to roll. One thing I did that I have never done before was mixed and matched all the melamine and can I tell you I loved the effect…..it made is so interesting and actually I discovered a few beautiful combinations. I may start only mixing patterns from now on, I love the effect that much.  I included details as well as some info on various items I get asked about a lot.

Here are all the elements I used to set this table-

And now let’s take a look……

All my favorite elements all together on one table! Plus blue, green and white is my most favorite color combination for summer, so fresh!

These shaped cane wicker hurricanes are some of my new favorites, (click here)

Love the play of subtle pattern mixing….didn’t do this before and think it might be my new favorite way to set a table with my melamine!

Above is our pagoda charger with the new melamine pattern coming in about 3 weeks….cannot wait!

Our basketweave flatware is a best seller, it is sold out right now but you can order it which will guarantee your order to be delivered around end of May (click here)

Another combination I am loving

This tablecloth is new and offered in a few sizes along with place mats and napkins (click here)

A lot of you have asked about these porcelain vases above. So the bad news is that they are vases I have owned for at least 12 years, they are English and the only two I have. The good news is that I am working on having them replicated! Hoping to get the samples within the next four weeks, stay tuned…..

Our porcelain ginger jar salt peppers are one of my favorite tabletop items…love them! Click here

And an unannounced giveaway. With any purchase of $40 or more of melamine, you will receive a free serving platter! Click here to see our entire melamine collection.

And that friends, as they say, is a wrap. Have you been enjoying any of your meals outdoors? The weather in NY has been very spotty, had a few very nice spring days but also have some have had some unusually cold days which has made the alfresco opportunities far and few between. Now, Palmetto Bluff on the other hand:)

I know better weather is ahead and with what, most will agree will not be an ordinary summer, small pleasures like enjoying a nice meal outside is something I am really looking forward to doing often this summer. How about you?

Thanks for stopping by, hoping everyone is safe and well. Sending you my best, until next time……

Yes, totally love those vases and meant to ask about them. Will be very interested to see how they turn out.

This table is SO beautiful!! I love all your pieces, you have amazing taste. I think I may need to copy?

Your melamine is gorgeous. Found you on Pinterest and so happy I did.

Those cane hurricanes are so pretty also. Thanks for the much needed inspiration. Not quite alfresco weather yet but hopefully soon.

Love your table settings. Your Blue and White Charger Plates go beautifully with all your patterns. Great job!

You are so right, Tina! Mixing the patterns is very striking! Also love alternating the flatware, porcelain and basket weave, as it is very effective. Wish I could have been there to help … and to eat whatever scrumptious meal you served!

You continue to be beyond talented and always set such a fresh table. Absolutely gorgeous!
