Hi friends and happy July 4th weekend! I swear it feels like last week that I was talking about Memorial Day! Can we push a giant pause button, time is going by way too fast. We had an insanely busy week this past week and our weekend has been chock full too. I am still getting used to “getting back” and something tells me by tomorrow I will be ready for a nice long nap and some serious downtime! A lot of rain this weekend which thwarted some plans but got to see friends, went to a small party and will host a few friends later today.

And whats on tap for your for the holiday weekend? Hope whatever you are up to to is fun, relaxing and of course safe. Summer really is flying by all of a sudden and I want to take full advantage of every day that I can. Onward to this Sundays post-

1 A FEW NEW THINGS ON THE HORIZON You are always the first to see whats new and upcoming. We have 2 big wicker/tabletop containers coming as well as more linens and 2 porcelain containers, so lots happening here now that things are moving once again.

So smitten with these new chinoiserie trays! They are on the way and will be here in about 4 weeks, will be available in 3 colors and 3 sizes.

We are getting in this beautiful new pearlized flatware and will offer it in the cream as well as two fall colors….stay tuned:)

And this is a tiny peek at some of the new mirrors which needless to say I am absolutely loving this design:) Working on three different possible colorways

Our wicker is finally on the way!

Just got in some of our hex wicker planters, remainder coming in a few weeks

Wicker wicker everywhere!

First batch of our darling pagoda dog beds will be here mid July!

First batch of wicker tulipieres will be here mid July!

2 FARM FLOWERS So I went to a favorite local farm stand where I know I can always pick up gorgeous flowers. I was disappointed to hear that the peony season had abruptly ended early, they almost always have them end of June but with a few serious high spikes in temps she said they opened up all at once and so fast and that was that. So I did the next best thing, took what they had.

And they had these wonderful and very colorful bunches of fresh farm flowers. I came home inspired in a different direction than I expected to be and created ab beautiful outdoor table with my hydrangea hedge as the backdrop (will share next week) but in the. meantime made some beautiful arrangement to sprinkle a little summer cheer around the house.

It all started with this bucket of beauty

Just love them in our big wicker urn, now in stock (click here)

Then experimented with a bunch in our small etched hurricane…equally lovely

Then started dreaming of a tablescape and planted them in our wicker box planter

4 LOBSTER ROLLS! Be forewarned if you are hungry and love lobster,  this might not be the time to read this. I made one of the most delectably delicious lobster rolls I have ever had. I was so proud of myself as that is not an accolade I use lightly.

I have had some outstanding lobster rolls in my day but this one was just the right mix of everything and the soft squishy brioche roll sealed the deal along with the pea micro greens. SO good!

  • 1 pound frozen lobster meat , thawed, or cooked meat from two 1 1/2 – 2 pound live lobsters
  • 1/4 cup minced celery
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon minced chives
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 4 split-top brioche, New England style hot dog buns , with sides trimmed off
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons butter , divided
  • pea micron greens to use as a garnish on top

  • Rinse the lobster meat and pick through for any loose shells. Drain thoroughly so the mayo sauce doesn’t get watery. Chop or tear into large chunks and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, mix the celery, mayonnaise, chives, lemon juice, lemon zest, kosher salt and ground black pepper. Taste for seasoning.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of the butter and add the lobster meat. Cook, stirring for 2 minutes until warmed through and buttery all over. Use a slotted spoon to dish the lobster meat into the mayonnaise mixture and toss to coat. Discard butter and juice released from the lobster and wipe out the skillet. Melt the remaining butter in the skillet over medium heat; toast the buns on the cut sides about 2 minutes each side until golden and toasty.
  • Load each bun equally with lobster meat and garnish with more chives if desired. Serve with potato chips.

5 A VERY CLEVER USE OF OUR MELAMINE PLATES! One of our super creative and talented customers came up with such a fabulous idea of installing a “plate wall” outdoors to create visual interest and add some serious decorating wow factor. She used a number of patterns from our melamine plate collection and it definitely created amazing impact.  Such a happy space, click here to follow Sheffield Interiors on Instagram

6 THEY’RE BACK! I own a big set of these water, wine and champagne glasses from Williams Sonoma and always get asked about them when they are featured in my photos. I am thrilled to see they are back. So many ask about them and thought its a great time to feature them. They are really fabulous. looking and mix in with other styles just beautifully. 7  SUNDAY’S SURVEY So as we all settle into a post covid world again,  I find some changes in my behavior still sticking around. I still wear a mask in most public places (feel more comfortable), I find myself reluctant to hug/kiss friends and family like I did before (suspect that will ease).

I always have sanitizer  in my bag, office, car, etc…..to be sure my hands are always clean. I think it’s different for all of us but this whole experience has made my hyper aware of how germs spread and how easily at that. Wondering how and if you are are experiencing any changes in your day to day interactions as well? Check all that apply.
