Hope this finds you well and enjoying a great weekend. It’s the Superbowl Sunday, a big deal in most households! Pretty much the only day I actually sit down and watch an entire game without complaining…in fact I often really get into it.

That said, once the 3 hour spectacle is over I go right back to being quite uninterested in football, sorry just the truth. May the best team win (spoken like a true non football fan)! Onward to my Seven on Sunday….

1 A FUN POST TO READ GOING WAY DOWN MEMORY LANE Sometimes I come across posts I forgot about and this was a fun one! When we lost a lot of blog posts when we redid the site about 5 years ago, I thought this post was lost for good.

Turns out only the comments were erased but happy to say, it’s still there! This was such fun for me to read again and go down memory lane. Thought you might enjoy since I am sure many of out have not seen it….Click here to read the post.

2 A WONDERFUL MUST HAVE BOOK You know those kinds of books that kind of take you away to a beautiful, calm peaceful place where the pace slows down and life just feels perfectly balanced and everything is in harmony.

This is one such book. Love this book, it’s the kind that you will find yourself going back to over and over. My first reaction delving into this book was take me away NOW to the Provencal countryside and leave the chaos behind:) Yes, it’s that kind of book! Absolute;y delightful.

3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST Just a bounty of beauty this weekend, random but such eye candy!

4 THE PERFECT RAFFIA BAGS FOR SPRING/SUMMER.  I love seeing whats new and upcoming over at Pamela Munson. Her raffia bags are so so pretty. These scream chic spring and summer dressing. Click here to see her fabulous collection.

5 WOLFGANG PUCK’S FAMOUS CHIONIS SALAD Forgot out amazing delicious this is! Soooo good. Always a hit and never any left. I tend to make it more in the summer but what a treat it was when I thought to make it the other day. A perfect luncheon salad too.

For the Vinaigrette:
  • ½ cup rice wine vinegar
  • ⅓ cup Chinese mustard
  • ⅓ cup soy sauce
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons chopped pickled ginger
  • 1 tablespoon chili oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame paste
  • Salt and pepper
  • ¾ cup peanut oil
For the Salad:
  • 5 cups julienned Napa cabbage
  • 4 cups mixed greens or watercress
  • 2 medium carrots, julienned
  • 1 medium mango, peeled, pitted, and julienned
  • 1 head radicchio, cored and julienned
  • 3 pounds cooked skinless chicken breasts, cooled and meat julienned
  • 2 cups fried wonton strips
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
  • Large handful of toasted cashews

For the vinaigrette, in a blender, combine the rice wine vinegar, Chinese mustard, soy sauce, egg yolk, honey, pickled ginger, chili oil, sesame paste and salt and pepper to taste.

Blend thoroughly, then slowly add the peanut oil while the motor is running. Taste for seasoning.

For the salad, in a large salad bowl, mix all the salad ingredients except for the sesame seeds. Add half the vinaigrette and taste. Add more dressing, as needed, a little at a time so as not to overdress the salad.

7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY So…..mask mandates are being lifted left and right. A sure sign we have turned a very significant and much anticipated corner. I am thrilled that some degree of normalcy is within reach!

The strange thing though, for me at least, is that I am so used to wearing a mask that I am choosing to continue wearing it in crowded public places. Strange as it might seem to some. I have spoken to others and about half feel the same, the other half cannot throw away their masks fast enough. Curious where you stand?

I’m confused about where you do not have to wear the mask, so until there is a full notice to all that mask are a thing of the past, I’ll continue to wear it. I actually don’t mind it. 😷

The post about building your home is wonderful! I’m sure you were delighted to locate it!

Whenever I read your 7 on Sunday post I fall down a rabbit hole. Thank you for todays post as it is a lazy rainy Sunday here in Palm Beach.

I’d rather wear a mask than not and catch something later and seriously regret it. Your post about construction of your house was interesting. I’ve gone through several and the finish line seems so far away, but. the results are always so satisfying.

I thoroughly enjoyed your post about how your beautiful house came to be. Loved seeing all the steps it took and can’t even imagine the choices and decisions made. I’m hoping to see what your plans are for your new property down in PB.

I live in a state where very few places require us to wear a mask. People decide to still wear one. As the weeks go by, less and less mandated masks will be around. I’d rather wear a mask a while longer.
Can you imagine building your house now? The shortage of supplies and the cost for materials alone would be staggering.

Isn’t “French Country House/Cottage” just the most fun….her “Pintrest” picks are wonderful! Enjoyed as usual!! franki

Iam so happy that you included that incredible story about the history of your previous home and current, so interesting and beautiful! we just started building a home and most days I wonder what I got myself into, I can see we’re going to have major delays!

Love all of your new products, especially cannot wait for that melamine.
Still wearing a mask and probably will for a while, my husband is an infectious disease doctor so I don’t need to tell you his opinion on the matter😊 He thinks it’s ludicrous to do away with mask at this juncture.

Those aprons look wonderful! Need to get one for someone who has a May birthday!
Thanks for including the Pamela Munson bags! I just love them. Have one and so want another!
My bunny arrived yesterday! Can not wait to put it out with the other one I purchased from you awhile ago!
Happy Sunday! A relaxing day here watching the snow fall!

Tina, I had no idea you built your primary home from scratch. I’ve renovated many homes but have yet to build new. But it is so stunning and your beautiful tastes shows in each and every room. Awaiting my French wire basket and cannot wait to receive it. Thanks for the salad recipe…that looks so good.

Tina, your post is full of beautiful eye candy, as always! I especially loved the re-post of your beautiful home in the planning and building. Enjoy your week!

I don’t wear masks, though I am vaccinated. I am just getting over Covid, but I got it from my granddaughter. I have lupus, so it’s been a wild week, but now maybe I’ll have a bit of immunity. Anyway, this post is gorgeous, and with everything here so brown and lifeless, I needed the springtime beauty!! Thank you! And I’m purchasing the book… any book you recommend I like. Have a wonderful week!!

I found your ‘mask poll’ interesting. Today is my 70th birthday and my husband will be 75 on Mother’s Day. We are certainly of “the age” ~ but neither of us has worn a mask throughout. It’s quite sad that doctors have been either quiet or dishonest because masks don’t stop most any virus, but not this one, in particular. Our wonderful doctors Cleveland Clinic) told us from the beginning that these masks don’t work, that the only thing a mask stops are large particles ~ ones that you might cough up or sneeze out. I pray that people will soon understand this ~ and that we’ll all stop living in fear.

Please make a table top book with all photos of your beautiful house and how u did it all.

I am so happy you found the post on your house construction. Your home is just beautiful and the attention to detail is just amazing. I know it was a long process, but it was worth every minute. I often go back and look at old posts to search for small details I can incorporate in to my house. I hope you enjoy your beautiful home for many years to come.

I’m so Looking forward to springtime too. I am so excited about the chargers!! I Can’t wait to order a set.
I love green; and the green planters are perfect and so pretty. Wishing you a blessed week.

As a teacher, I was sick every year from everything that came down the pike. During the past two years of mask wearing (and vaxxing), I can’t remember being this healthy. Not a virus, infection, or any kind of illness in almost two years. I can see hanging on to masks for a while, along with other diligence practices.

The straw handbags are swoon-worthy!

I’ve said it before – your home is my absolute favorite in all of instagram!!
What a treat to see its beginnings. Thank you for this post. What a treat!!

Well, there wasn’t a choice of “I only wear a mask where mandated”. I would have checked that box. In our city, the places that require are medically related, doctor’s appts. etc. Sometimes I wear it if I look really bad and don’t want to be recognized, other than that, I only wear it if you cannot be admitted unless you have one on.
