***this post was prepared in advance so I did not write anything about September 11 but needless to say this is a bittersweet day for me personally. It is my youngest son‘s birthday and that to us of course is a joyous celebration because he is so loved but it is also a solemn day because of the tragedy that took place on this day 21 years ago. Needless to say my thoughts and prayers are with all the families who have suffered such an unimaginable loss and to our entire country that was forever changed ****

Hello!  Hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful September weekend. I will be at my parents  so hope this posts on time. Hard to believe summer is unofficially over. Onward to fall, my favorite season:)

We have a lot happening over here in the next few weeks at TEH, including getting in several shipments within two weeks. Its going to be a fun kind of mayhem, it is either feast or famine! Given that some of these shipments are several weeks delayed, however, we will welcome them with open arms. We are making way and making room for all the incoming goodies including preparing for a busy holiday season.  Let’s move along to this Sunday’s post….

MY TULIPIERES Haven’t played around with one of these bad boys in a while and it sure was fun! I was having a stressful day and when that happens,  I tend to retreat, normally like to go go and play with flowers in some format. I had an arrangement that someone had sent me which was on it’s way way out, so I picked it apart for components to use for my tulipiere and had a small pot of daisies and decided to mix them all together.

And, it actually turned out quite beautiful, not a mix of flowers I would typically have put together. This is our large village scene tulipiere which makes quite a statement. Comes in four parts for easy watering. We are well stocked on our tulipieres at the moment and incidentally our 20% off all porcelain starts today! Use code porcelain. 2 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST Such a spectacular roundup…..

3 THE MOST AMAZING CAKE DESIGNER Been such a fan of this incredible cake designer, Soocake Ully ever since I found her. Her cakes and flowers are otherworldly! I mean, can you believe these are sugar? I am dumbfounded every time she posts one of her newest creations. Only downside is that she doesn’t live in the U.S. thought maybe  that’s a good thing after all:) Click here to visit her drool worth Instagram portfolio!

4 NEW PRODUCTS FOR YOUR EYES ONLY! So, we are not doing a full collection of holiday papers this year as much as I wanted to. Logistically things are still greatly delayed and because the holiday period is such a specific window, I had to make the hard decision to forego a collection this year BUT  there is some good news!

We were able to do a take off of one of our best selling papers ever, with Giddie Paperie! Introducing our fabulous tulipiere and flowers holiday paper with Giddy Paperie. So many of you asked us to do this with red flowers and we listened and took it a step further and added hollly berry and mossy green bows. SO in love with this paper!  The icing on the cake is the reverse is a fabulous and elegant evergreen/holly berry trellis…so it’s like two in one.

We will also offer this print in tote bags and matching tissue plus bringing back our gorgeous velvet and grosgrain ribbons!!

Double the beauty as this will reverse to this wonderful coordinating trellis!

So remember our beautiful new blue and white tulipieres? And for anyone who preordered them, they are finally going to be here next week. We will ship them immediately upon receipt.  Here is a first glimpse at the red version (they look orange/red here but they are a true red)! Waiting on the green….

And yes,  these fabulous urns and pedestals that so many loved are a go! We will hold a presale on these within the next 2 weeks…so excited and already have a few spots for them:) Merry Christmas to me!

5 A DELICIOUS AND VERY PRETTY APPETIZER. This is so tasty, light and just  perfect with the holidays coming along! I made a small batch of these to bring to someone’s house and not only were they so delicious but so pretty too:) Needless to say, they did not last long! Recipe below.  Found these on Walder Wellness.

  • 2 pears
  • Approx. 8 ounces brie cheese (~225 grams)
  • Approx. 2 cups baby arugula
  • Approx. 1/4 cup chopped raw walnuts or pecans
  • Balsamic glaze to drizzle

Instructions

  • Slice pears into quarters and remove seeds and stem. Cut quarters into roughly 1/2-inch cubes.
  • Cut brie cheese into similar-sized, 1/2-inch cubes.

TIP: I found that leaving the rind on made the skewers a little less sticky to handle!

  • Take a small (4-inch) skewer, and thread a piece of pear, a bundle of arugula, and then a piece of cheese onto it. Place skewer on a serving platter and repeat until all cheese and pears are used up.

TIP: fold the arugula in half to make it a smaller bundle and thread the skewer onto the rind part of the cheese!

  • Gently press a few pieces of chopped walnuts onto the brie cheese so that they stick. Drizzle balsamic glaze over the top of skewers and enjoy!

6  A FABULOUS NEW FABRIC LINE I am always on the prowl for gorgeous new textiles and this collection stopped me in my tracks. A beautiful collaboration from  John Roselli with Leah O’Connell  of the UK. Classic and oh so beautiful. I could literally use each and every one of these for a room in  my house!  Click here to see the entire collection of both fabrics and wallpaper.

7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY So summer is over, unofficially at least. Fall is at our doorstep and we have actually had a few cool-ish days which I have loved. Curious what your state of mind is right now knowing fall is around the corner with the holidays and winter soon to follow?
