Better late than never at all, my mother must have been guiding me from above to inject some holiday spirit into this house. If you missed my post last week introducing you to our new home, click here. Nothing less than a Christmas miracle. I have to admit I have zero desire to do so but knowing how much she loved Christmas and so enjoyed watching me decorate for the holidays, I did this in her honor. My husband was the one who insisted upon putting up a tree (a little smaller than usual but its a tree and looks beautiful with all our new ornaments) and I am so glad he did.
My family also enjoys the decorations so this is of course for them too, I worked with what I had on hand and what had been unpacked (still a long way to go in terms of unpacking). I must admit, despite not feeling any spirit, just seeing the decor made me happy, mostly because it reminded me of my mom. So here is Christmas 2022-
Yes, everything looks prettier with Christmas decorations, I cannot deny that. It’s a solemn holiday this year but I am glad that my dad will be joining us and I know my mom will be with us in spirit, I need to believe that. I hope everyone is staying calm and merry as the Christmas countdown is here. I personally will be so glad when it’s over. The very little gift giving I have done, is 100% reliant upon the internet and delivery Gods so hoping I get all that I am expecting today!

The first Christmas without a parent is really tough so give yourself some grace do the best you can but don’t push yourself., everyone will understand! Time really does help this deep wound.
