Hi there! Hope you are having a nice weekend. Hard to believe it’s nearly mid August. We are in the middle of pumpkin shipping (on way) and wrapping up our Christmas products. Yes, really. Not a moment too soon with the tremendous shipping delays happening in the Middle East, greatly affecting trade routes. So everything is happening sooner than usual.
And of course the most exciting news is that my son and daughter in law will be welcoming our first grandchild into the world very soon! Her due date was pushed up (next weekend) so it could really be any day now, we are beyond excited!! Yes, very time I go shopping, I immediately think of him before anything else and let’s admit it, everything for a newborn is practically irresistible. Stay tuned!
The second most exciting thing? That the very first chapter of our house renovation has begun…tree removal (never thought I could get so excited over some trees coming down). No, not very glamours but a first step so that our addition can begin. We will start in approx one week and it cannot happen a moment too soon! I will start a series based upon our house renovation once we get underway. CANNOT wait to have a new kitchen.
Anyone else feel fall is creeping in ever so slowly? Every store I go to has back to school displays, college supply aisles, and fall clothes starting to slowly make their way onto the sales floor. Make no mistake, I am not unhappy about it, because I LOVE fall. Going to savor these last weeks of summer but also really looking forward to my favorite season:) OK onward to my post this weekend….

1 NEW PRODUCTS COMING SOON! We have a lot of really fun things in the pipeline. I am ecstatic over these new trellis fretwork mirrors! They are in production and will be offered to start, in an antiqued nickel and antiqued gold finish. I mean, could these be any prettier. I have at least 2 places in my home where I will use them. These will be here by late Sept/early Oct and we will offer them via a presale in a few weeks!
These fretwork bar carts are the other item that I am most excited about. We will be offering them the way we offered the lattice bars. It will be a presale only. These have come out of production and are about to go into the painting stage. They will be shipping out around Aug 25th and will be here end of Sept.
We will have a presale listing starting tomorrow, for those of you who have been waiting to order these. These will be offered at a special presale price and are truly perhaps the prettiest bar car I have seen yet! Cannot wait to add one or two to my home:) Here is a sneak peek at 4 0f the six colors that will be offered.
Here is the wicker which I am over the moon excited about as well. This will be such a great piece to use outdoors or set up a makeshift bar on in a sunroom.
2 ONE TALENTED CUSTOMER This is just too pretty to not share. I fell in love with this spectacular luncheon/garden party hosted by one of our customers. Featuring our wicker balloons and mini bud vases. This is as pretty as they come!! We are sold out of the wicker balloons but getting them back in stock in a few weeks in natural and introducing white! Thanks Dawn, so much for sharing….
3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST Such a gorgeous roundup…
4 A LOOK AT BEHIND THE SCENES OF A DINNER WITH WISHBONE KITCHENS I don’t know if you follow Wishbone Kitchen but I really enjoy her work, her fun personality and honest take on being a chef. Here is what goes on in the prep stage for a dinner party. I think until you witness it, it is hard to understand just how much work it really is. I have seen it firsthand and have respect for chefs who approach their craft the way she does. Her food always looks SO good as well and any recipe I have tried of hers is absolutely fantastic. Click here to find out more about her
5 PALMETTO BLUFF LOVE these pictures my architect, Court Atkins, took of our place in my happy place, Palmetto Bluff. I miss being there so much. Between various social obligations here and the baby soon to be born, this is the longest it’s been since I have been there. Miss it so much. Click here to visit Court Atkins (you will recognize the landing picture on their website:)
6 YELLOWSTONE! Who else loved Yellowstone? We couldn’t get enough of it and it was one of those series, that we didn’t want to end. So, good news is season 5 is coming back November 10th! Mark your calendar. And it appears there will not be a sixth season, and some cast changes are also in the works. This is a great article if you want to read more (click here)
Did you also know there is going to be a Yellowstone Spinoff, being directed by Michelle Pfeiffer? It is called The Madison. This looks promising…
7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY OK is it me or is brick and mortar retail on life support? I had a few gifts to buy and needed to find a dress for an upcoming wedding. I went to 3 dept stores (Neiman Marcus, Saks and Nordstrom). I was shocked as the stores looked so sparse, the selection was so limited and let’s not even talk about how finding a salesperson was like hitting the jackpot. I was in and out of each store literally within 15 minutes. Dismal is not an overexxageration.
Then I noticed, on this shopping day, just how any stores have gone out of business. I was really shocked seeing how many empty store fronts there were. It was sad to see how many small business did not make it, but big stores too. I remember feeling this way when I went to Madison Ave in the city about 4 months ago. It was startling to see this once highly revered luxury shopping street with so many empty stores and lease signs. I don’t know the other day, it really hit me. That retail has changed monumentally as we know it.
Though my own business is e-commerce, I recognize (maybe I am not longer in the majority) that walking into a beautiful curated shop/store and getting to see, feel and experience items in person is a special experience. Even when I had my own product line at East Hampton Gardens, it was so thrilling to walk in and see some of my merchandise so beautifully displayed, it was like sensory overload. Despite all that, I still dream about one day having my own little shop to display our goods. Curious as to what you think…
Thanks for stopping by, hope you enjoyed my post today. If something resonated, let me know…love to hear from you. Wishing everyone a great day, until next time….
NEED the mirrors and bar carts! AMAZING! Love your ideas, such a creative force.
The garden party lunch is so pretty.
Yes stores are going out left and right. I no longer go to our Saks Fifth Avenue, the store feels empty and I never find anything. 90% of my shopping is online.
The Palmetto house is perfection. congratulations on the upcoming new addition, how exciting for you and your family.
Really confused by this comment. Not sure what you mean by “jumping around”. We do not have any computer problems. This is the first time someone has said there is a problem with the posts jumping around (not sure what that even means) but think its on your end.If you want to elaborate please email [email protected]. We have an IT person who maybe can help troubleshoot what’s going on when you read the blog.
I think you are using voice to text for these but it is so hard to read. Grammar and incorrect words require re-reading a lot. I guess I’ll just look and the pretty pictures.
No I do not. I am a one person show and do the best I can. There were maybe 3 or 4 typos which did not update but hard to read? That’s a stretch in my humble opinion:)
Lovely post. The bar cart and mirrors are exquisite, well done!
In person shopping is the pits. I rarely do it anymore. Even for my daughter’s upcoming wedding, bought my gown online. Stores are not buying/stocking like they used to. Sad but true and fast fashion is really starting to impact the high end brands. Everything is changing and not necessarily for the better.
Love your Sunday posts, and always sit down with a cup of coffee to enjoy them (my family knows not to bother me) haha. Have a nice Sunday.
It saddens me…I so lookfed girward to “shopping excursions,” the storefronts, displays, SEEING the items…now, you order, Pay shipping, “NOT as pictured,” Return, PAY SHIPPING & RESTOCKING…yep, saddens me…franki
Thank you for your wonderful posts. I always look forward to reading and appreciate the wonderful pictures, tips, recipes, and products. I am a particular enthusiast of your tulipieres. Blessings upon the imminent arrival of your first grand baby!
You do a fantastic job as a one woman force. You are creative, your goods are high-quality, your posts are genuine, and I love reading them. I have not had any trouble with the post, jumping around, and a typo here or there just shows your humanity
Congratulations on becoming a grandmother. I have an experience that yet, but I’m told it’s life’s greatest joy. For me, that will be hard to beat the greatest joy of being a mother to my only child. The pictures of Palmetto Bluff are stunning, you and the architect did a marvelous job with the overall house, but also the way the house is situated on the land is beautiful and impressively done.
I haven’t had any problems with reading your posts. This is such an exciting time waiting for your grandson to be born! My first grandson was born 2 months ago and am soo in love! Enjoy this time!!
Everything is just beautiful. Those mirrors are very special. I love your blog and greatly appreciate the time, dedication and talent you put into your blog and online shop (own many things from you). I stopped reading most blogs but read yours religiously. I have never had issues reading your blog and guess what? I read The Washington Post this morning and guess what? There were typos! This is life people.
Regarding retail, I have found myself going into stores much less often. I have gotten lazy I supposed with Amazon making everything so easy. Even clothes shopping I mostly do online. There are a few brands I am very loyal to so know their sizing well. Returns are a cinch. I think there is no turning back to traditional retail, whether we like it or not. I am a busy mom with 4 kids under 14, so anything I can do to save time is a lifesaver.
Didn’t see my situation in your survey answers, which is I shop locally but do it online. 🙂 We’re lucky to have a compact thriving downtown with small independent shops carrying apparel, books, furniture, kitchenwares (my downfall!), shoes, and more. My problem is it’s so popular that it’s sometimes tough to get a parking spot, so my answer is I often shop their websites. Never, ever disappointed.
Happy, happy landings to your grandbaby, and very best wishes.
For those of us that work retail and earn commission it is hard to make a living. Most people are shopping online and when we do get a customer that wants customer service, we are stuck at a register doing huge returns. I am a salesperson/ stylist, and the best part of my job is helping someone find the perfect outfit to make them feel and look beautiful. Often times I work with women for hours only to have items returned or even worse worn to an event and then returned. Sadly, so many beautiful items are only online. I have to spend time at home researching merchandise, so I can send style boards to customers.
If you are going to shop online reach out to someone in your store and at least give your local department store and salesperson the credit. Trust me many of us love our job and are doing our best.
When I read your blog mine jumps around too. I have to hold my finger on my screen so that it doesn’t skip to the end. Hasn’t stopped me from reading! But it does it on my phone as well. It’s probably not an issue on a desktop but I haven’t tried it.
That is very interesting, never heard of this before until today from you and one other person. Are you reading this on your phone? I cannot imagine why it would do that, wish I had an answer!
Devastated what is happening in Fairfield County, CT. Mom and Pop stores had their rents raised, so out of business they went. Developers have bought the small areas where the stores with personality were, and combined them, built very pretty (gas lanterns!) mixed apt retail, and now the chain stores have moved in… Warby Parker, etc. I need a hostess gift today. There is nowhere to run into to shop. ;(
Yes I’m reading it on my iPhone 15. It’s been doing it for a while(months) but I’m not one to complain. I look forward to your posts every week! It also won’t let me to reply to your comment so I have to write a new entry. But like I said, not an issue at all! Thanks!
The Palmetto Bluff pictures are absolutely incredible. That is such a masterpiece. Love that style home! We are attending a wedding there in October and I can hardly wait. The garden party pictures are beautiful. I share your thoughts on the retail landscape, it’s pretty bleak!
@Nancy McMullen
Tina has so many incredible talents and produces a prolific amount of FREE material for her many avid fans. You might enjoy her blog more if you try to look for the best in her work. I am thinking that her choice not to hire a proofreader allows her to pass along better pricing for her clients! I also see her as an extremely creative person with a great eye for attention to the artistic detail. No one can be perfect at every little thing! While perfection is a wonderful thing, it is virtually impossible to achieve if one expects to do anything at all, really. Perfectionism simply causes procrastination. If she waited for the perfect blog post, she would probably never have gotten this blog off the ground! I, for one, would rather hear from her on every Sunday, rather than have her spend an entire week proofreading and hear from her only every other Sunday. Blogging is a tremendous amount of work. Unless we’ve tried it and have a successful blog, online store, and keep two homes at the standard Tina does, we really have no idea what she undertakes every day.
It takes great effort to overcome perfectionism. Take it from someone who knows: Those around the perfectionist are always so grateful when the effort is made to overcome it. You might want to try what I call the 30 Day No Complaining Challenge: Try to go 30 days without criticizing, complaining, or making any negative comments to anyone. You might be amazed at the results in your life, both in the way you see yourself and the way you see others around you!
Have a great day and thanks for another great post, Tina!
Many stores have closed as a result of ‘organized’ retail theft. Couple that with lax arrest laws, and you have a recipe for disaster. People don’t want to shop where they may get robbed. Facts.
Beautiful post this Sunday. I love the Sunday posts, always get lots of great ideas, inspiration and recipes from you. To this day, your chicken salad is my family’s most requested item. SO good!
Tina, I noticed the comment from nasty Nancy. You would think she’s paying for this service. NANCY ITS FREE IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT, DON’T READ IT. You do an excellent job of writing your blog, which is relatable, authentic, and always well written. You have a gift (among many) for the written word. I can assure you 99.9% of us are not looking for typos, and instead would prefer to applaud the wonderful FREE work that you do every week. Your blog is so enjoyable and one of a handful I read faithfully.
Love your pretty new products coming in- always something beautiful on the horizon at Enchanted Home!
And agree about retail, it has changed tremendously since Covid. I used to own a high end clothing boutique, closed the doors during Covid and never went back. No regrets (we had 6 great years). I do not think we as a society will go back to traditional shopping, as we all have gotten used to the ease of ordering and returning online. I still however try to patronize local businesses when I can.

gorgeous gorgeous post such a fun way to start my Sunday. Love your new products. I will definitely be ordering!
Retail is horrible- I find myself going to stores less and less, good or bad online shopping is hard to beat.
congratulations on your upcoming grandchild and the start of your house renovation. Look forward to following along.
Size of the pagoda offered today? I don’t see it listed
