Hello friends, hope you are having a great weekend. We have had a lot of rainy gloomy days and higher than usual temps, but fall weather is in the forecast… and I am ready!  Fall is such a beautiful season, makes me want to spend as much time outdoors as I possibly can and today am planning to head to an apple festival. Having my first colonoscopy and endoscopy tomorrow and dreading the day of having to fast, so going to keep on moving.  Speaking of moving, let’s get to my Seven on Sunday….

_____________

1 ONE BEAUTIFUL HOME! This is a wonderful home on Kiawah Island, featured in Traditional Home Magazine, really love the vibe. Beautiful soft colors, and love that the light blue is used generously throughout this beautiful home. Such a pretty and coastal tranquil home, click here to see/read more.

2 BEGINNERS SET OF BLUE AND WHITE. I featured curated collections of blue and white pieces on my shop a few months ago which were then discounted almost 40% and sold out of both. I think many liked the guesswork being taken out of figuring out which pieces to use where.

So we have come up with two new collections that were just added  few days ago. Love both and truly they are as beautiful together as they are separately plus I would challenge you to find a place that sells this high quality porcelain at this price, an amazing value. There is no better value in the world of porcelains in my opinion than these two beautiful collections.  Here they are, click here to see.

3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST Always have so much to share, the hardest part is narrowing down the ‘finalists” but alas I always manage to. So many lovelies to share with you this week-

And my favorites this week is a tie…two gorgeous instagrams both featuring items purchased from my shop-

4. THE GRAVITY OF THE CALIFORNIA FIRES.  Like everyone I am so sad to see the destruction that is happening in northern California…it is unprecedented and so frightening. This seems almost too unbelievable  to be true but this chilling video really captures the devastation of what has happened.

This postman still delivered mail to a ravished non existent (pretty much) neighborhood in Santa Rosa, California. I am keeping all those in the path of these devastating fires in my prayers and really pray for a major soaking rainfall to help get this under control. So many lives lost and so many putting their lives on the line every day in an effort to get this devastating fire under control.

5. A FAVORITE RECIPE.  I made this for the first time earlier in the summer and must say it is so delicious. Really light and the lemon zest gives it a great extra zing. We had a last minute dinner guest a week or so ago (someone my husband does business with from out of town) so I quickly made this with a big salad and had made lentil soup and. must say it was one tasty meal and best part is that it was not heavy or too filling, it was “just right”!

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed (if frozen)
1/2 cup pesto
2 shallots, thinly sliced
1 large zucchini, thinly sliced
2 tbsp good-quality olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup crumbled Lemon Fetish feta cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/4 cup fresh basil, finely chopped
Zest of 1 lemon

DIRECTIONS-

Preheat oven to 400F. Line a 9″x12″ baking sheet with parchment paper.
On a clean surface lightly dusted with flour, roll out the puff pastry so that it’s just slightly bigger than the prepared baking sheet. Careful transfer onto the baking sheet, folding the edges back in to create a 1/2″ border. Spread the pesto onto the pastry, leaving the border untouched.
In a large mixing bowl, toss together the zucchini slices with olive oil, salt and pepper. Arrange the slices on top of the pesto layer, overlapping them slightly as you go. Sprinkle with crumbled feta and grated Parmesan.
Lightly brush the edges of the tart with beaten egg. Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden, and the zucchini are just starting to brown around the edges.
Let cool for about 5-10 minutes before serving, adding a scattering of chopped basil and lemon zest at the last minute.

6. A NEW CONTEST! I officially announced it 2 days ago,  we are now accepting your pictures for the Fall Love contest. That means you get to submit your favorite 1-2 pictures that show how you love fall. It can be an interior shot of a fall themed vignette, your kids playing in the leaves, your pet decked out for fall,  a big bushel of apples, etc….here are a few great representations of picture and color quality which is very important to keep in mind.  We are already almost half full so get those pictures in soon:) A few quick rules-

7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY So this week I am already thinking about Thanksgiving…..does that sound crazy?  Since I no longer have any small kiddies at home to prepare for Halloween with, pretty much skipping right over that and heading full throttle into Thanksgiving mode.

I normally host and am always happy to. Thanksgiving means a beautiful holiday with family, no pressure of presents and a lot of family time which means, good food, movie binges, possibly a few fierce Scrabble games and a free ticket to a fun lazy day. Does it sound nuts to say I am already thinking about my Thanksgiving table and meal?  Of course no matter what I do the tulipieres will be a part of it:) Tell me I am not alone!

_____________

Thank you as always for stopping in and making TEH part of your Sunday mornings…I enjoy putting these posts together and believe it or not preparing them is one of the most relaxing parts of my week:) Wishing everyone a wonderful day and end to your weekend. Until next time…….

Host Thanksgiving? We’ve traveled to my mother’s several states away every year of my adult life, single, then married, except one or two when it was impossible to get there. Even though she can no longer do it we still go and somehow get a dinner on the table planning from afar. I’d feel guilty if we didn’t go and it wouldn’t be worth it.

Tina I hope all goes well with your procedures
I encourage everyone to do it yucky but over quickly and could save your life

Good morning another wonderful post. I love the house in Kiawah. My husbands family owned a home there for many many years and we have a lot of wonderful memories there.

So tragic about the northern California fires. I cannot get over that video, going to show it to my family. Tina having bought many blue and white pieces from you, I can attest to the quality and value. No one has the selection or pricing that you do, keep it up!

Good luck with your procedure, as my husband who is a gastroenterologist tells his patients “it’s one day of discomfort and hunger for years of good intestinal health”

Good morning, dear friend. Happy Sunday. I made note of following 3 more sites on Instagram, thanks to you. I love the blue and white beginners sets. Great selection. I went to participate in your poll but there was no option that says “The Mister does it all.” Hope you have a wonderful week.

Love the “How you love yourself is how you teach others to love you” picture. It is so very true. Look forward ever Sunday morning to open your post to see what you offer up. I do not care for Halloween so I decorate for Fall, not witches. I see too much of evil in our world and will not further the thought.

Good Morning!
I really could use the “do not deliver whilst my husband is home” shipping option! He always says “you have ANOTHER package from The Enchanted Home?!?!?!” So funny. Quality at reasonable pricing I always tell him 🙂
Thank you Tina,
Marie

We have a fire pit that we move to the end of our driveway, light the fire and hand out candy at Halloween. There’s lots of warm drinks and neighbors come over to catch up. I am always shocked the next day. November. Thanksgiving. I always host but I always make the same food, so it’s ok. Are you ready for the world to go Christmas crazy in a few weeks?

I just read your 7 on Sunday while I was taking a break from gathering cloths.. bedding..etc. to give to the cabin next to ours in Tahoe… they came up yesterday.,. They live in Santa Rosa…total devastion .,, but I remember a woman who stopped me on the ski slopes(she and her family had lost everything in a fire)
She told me.. what I learned”If it can’t cry over you… it’s not worth crying over”…that really stuck with me… I have a brother who lost his son… now that is something to cry over…

With my son and family in Napa I have been in earnest prayer each day and thankful for their safety having evacuated in the middle of the night. So far their home has remained due to his hard work along with neighbors and strangers before fire crews got there. It isn’t over and still so many are threatened with loss of their properties, businesses, and vineyards. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for them.

Hi Tina. Best to you tomorrow with the tests. It will all be a distant memory soon! Pinning these beautiful images of the Kiawah home and sending peace to you as you tackle another week of sales and prepare for the holiday season quickly approaching. xox

Hi Tina,
Thanks for sharing your blog with us. The tips you have mentioned in your blog are amazing. I also want to share my experience with you. I am also a housewife and I was thinking of renovating the window of my house because in summers sunlight is the big issue over here and I tried many things but I got no results. After that, my best friend told me about the thetintguy.com window tinting services. I used their service and I am very happy with there work.

Hi Tina always enjoy these posts. So sad about the fires, too many natural disasters between Sept-Oct. That video looks like a scene out of a movie! love you beginner sets for blue and white, a great idea.

That tart looks incredible. I will have to try that, I bet it’s delicious. Can’t wait for the holiday wrap. Happy Monday!
