Hi everyone. Hope you are enjoying a wonderful holiday weekend! I first want to acknowledge all the veterans who make our various celebrations and liberties today even possible. Their heroic service and sacrifices should be acknowledged of course no only on Memorial Day but every day. I don’t think the average person (including myself) stops to really think about the fact that freedom is never really free and there are countless men and women who sacrificed their lives for our country in the most noble way possible. I share a beautiful moving video below which is well worth the watch.

Today is a beautiful weather day and we are doing a little pickle ball (just a beginner), stopping over at someones house, having friends over for drinks then going to dinner. Tomorrow will kind of be a repeat. We got lucky with the weather this weekend as the last few years were kind of a bust. Hope whatever you are going is fun, safe and healthy. Onward to my post….

1 PEONIES IN BLOOM!  I am in peony heaven! This is the first year I do not have to visit my peony farm because I have them in my very own yard. Planted some of my own and there were already existing peony bushes here and they are all in full bloom and it’s quite a sight. I have had fun going out a few mornings to cut a bucketload and spread their beauty around the house as well as giving small clusters to friends. Here is this weeks pick-

2 A FEW NEW PRODUCTS ON THE HORIZON We finally have our soft blue and ivory quatrefoil planters coming back and our Provence planters! Worth the wait…always!

3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST Such a beautiful round up this week of instagrams that caught my eye…..

4  THE REAL MEANING OF MEMORIAL DAY  This is very moving and certainly, a video worth sharing to keep the awareness alive and well.  We must properly honor those who have served and are still serving. This makes my heart swell as a proud American and I am forever grateful to these noble and proud service people.

Towards the end when they play Taps, the waterworks begins…just a forewarning.

5 AN INCREDIBLE HOME TOUR WITH NO DETAIL SPARED If you love details chinoiserie blue and white and color…the you will absolutely love this fun and pretty house tour! Talk about attention to detail!

A big perk for me personally was seeing a number of our pieces here, our Provence planters, the pagoda dog house, some porcelain and more! Edith Duncan is so talented.

6 A SALAD TO ADD TO YOUR MENU This is sooo good, very light and flavorful. Best part, it literally goes with everything and takes just a few minutes to make. It’s a Greek salad called Maroulosalata and it is good! Found this particular recipe over at Hungry Happens, a great blog for Greek recipes.

  • 2 hearts romaine lettuce
  • 4-5 scallions, diced
  • 1 bunch fresh dill, chopped
  • 4 oz feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1 large lemon, juiced
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Rinse your lettuce clean then THINLY SLICE. Dry well in your salad spinner.
Whisk together the oil, lemon juice and salt until smooth and thick.
Place the first 4 ingredients in a large bowl.  Pour the dressing over the salad.  Toss all together and massage/scrunch the greens with your hands to infuse with the rest of the ingredients and break down its rough characteristics.

7 SEVEN ON SUNDAY Curious where you stand on the subject of sleep. Once I got in the “50’s decade” my sleep became much lighter, more interrupted and though I have no issue going to sleep, staying asleep is another matter. I don’t like taking things to sleep and avoid when I can. I tend to stay up fairly late and rise early (always have) so I am lucky if I get a good 6 hours. Curious about you?

Thank you for posting this video. The tears started even before taps. I have forwarded to so many people. It is a must see.

I hope HBO has ‘Taking Chance’ with Kevin Bacon on this weekend (think it may be available on Netflix), based on the true story of a military officer who accompanies the body of a young fallen soldier home to his family. Well worth watching.
Thank-you for posting this video.

Thank you for sharing this touching video. I too hope that every American takes the time to watch it. We need to remember those that fought for us. 🇺🇸

You were So Right about the Memorial Day film- incredibly moving And inspiring !! Thank You for this gift.
And the home tour was my all-time favorite !! Such layer upon layer of beauty !} Thank You again ! God bless you and your family on this holiday & every day ! I’m one of your Biggest Fans !! ❤️

I have seen many house tour videos in my day, but none as delightful as Edith-Anne Duncan’s home. I could watch that video over and over! She is such a gracious hostess and I love her style. Everything is so fresh and beautiful. I think I even saw some of The Enchanted Home rattan tables in her outdoor space. I could move right in and not change a thing. What a delightful video.

Amazing house tour ! The camera work upset my stomach with all the movement so I kept pausing and restarting as it was just incredible.
