Hi there, are you as busy as I am? C R A Z Y time of year, but somehow it is still fun and magical and exciting I keep thinking if I tell myself this I will really believe it! Not sure about you but I have had a lifelong fascination with gingerbread houses ever since I was little. And even though my talent is no match for my enthusiasm and love, I still am fascinated by them. Lets just say “my creations” will never EVER grace the pages of Pinterest! But I am still in awe of the spectacular houses that are made by the hands of some seriously talented bakers and artisans. Thought it would make a fun post in the spirit of Christmas being just days away.
I cannot get over the level of detail and one year, when all is calm and peaceful in the kingdom, I may just attempt to make a really special gingerbread house. It won’t be a frantic “lets do it in one night” attempt but instead it will be a carefully thought out, brilliantly orchestrated month long affair…….tweaking and adding just bit by bit, day by day and I promise to take you along for the ride. Who knows…..perhaps next Christmas! How about you? Do you make one or are you like me just are in awe and love to marvel at the talents of others? Feast your eyes on these…….
The details, the details!

Those are some amazing gingerbread houses! My favorite ones are the two small pink ones and the BLING one at the end! I’ve never attempted to make one….I am so not crafty that I think it would be a hot mess when I was finished. Hope you are enjoying your holiday season!
These are INCREDIBLE!!! I made one years ago that wasn’t too pretty but my kids loved it. These are just “beyond” and such fun to look at! Thank you Tina, love the title, too funny.
Such gorgeous gingerbread houses – nothing like the ones I used to make with my kids that were lopsided and goopy! Thanks for sharing these, Tina! xoxo
How sweet! I don’t think I could possibly choose a favorite, but that little pink one in the second photo is just darling. Good look with getting it all done, Tina. Hope you enjoy the magic with one week to go before Christmas! Sending warm and merry wishes! XOXO
What fun Tina! Yes.. it’s amazing what’s being done with these Gingerbread houses. The Sheraton in Seattle hosts an annual decorating contest with local businesses (proceeds to charity) and it’s a huge deal with families lined up to go through the tour. There is something so charming and festive about these houses:) We make them every year and regardless of how it looks, we enjoy it. It smells good and always sits front and center in the kitchen area.
I’m not yet finished with my shopping and wrapping. Fortunately today is my last day at the office so I’ll be off and running starting tomorrow! Enjoy your day!
I love little houses, always have. My talent only extends to finding them and collecting them, not making them. Alas. These are so wonderful, I love them all. x
These gingerbread houses are amazing Tina. Specially loved the first pink one! I would never ever have the skill to make these! I can’t even ice a cookie in straight lines!
Your house in looking wonderful too, I don’t know where you find the energy
Goodness, these houses trump the houses we actually live in! Such amazing attention to detail – the makers must have had very steady hands to create these beauties. Hope you’ve dug out of the recent snow and are having a great, sunny day! xxoo C + C
What a lot of detail, workmanship and hours it took to make these!!!! One thing is for sure, I can see little hands on these and things going missing on the houses!!!
These are so amazing. I made a tiny one with my daughter and have to say I thought i came out half decent till I saw these! A local bakery has a great contest every year that we love to go and watch the finals of and some of those houses could fit into this post, they are so beautiful. Loved seeing these and going to show my daughter when she gets home from school. Enjoy the chaos Tina.
I remember seeing a gingerbread replica of Danielle Rollins much blogged about home, Boxwoods (decorated by Miles Redd) – I just dug it up in the AJC article! I have always admired gingerbread houses, but from afar – I don’t think I have the patience to create one!
I can always count on you to show us the best of everything, these are incredible! I love each and every one but that “blingy” house is my favorite! I would love to attempt one myself one of these years. Definitely very inspirational Tina.
Tina, having witnessed your myriad talents, generously shared on The Enchanted Home, I have no doubt that you could create a gingerbread house to top any of these. Wishing you and yours the merriest Christmas and all the best in 2014.
