Hello there! Hope you had a great weekend, ours was relaxing and incredibly cold. Let’s face it, accessories are practically one the most important ingredients of a room. Sure you need sofas and chairs, but the accessories are what really gives a room it’s personality, that vibe. I love accessories (obviously) since my online shop is practically all accessories! It’s a surefire way to change up a look, whether you are adding, layering or taking away….its a fast, “instant gratification kind of a way” to transform a space. If you imagine a room without any accessories, it would look rather bleak and incredibly boring. Yes, we definitely need them!
I love “playing” and often do in my own home. Constantly tweaking, adding a few books, maybe a pair of Staffordhsire dogs, it is a constant (but fun) game of experimenting until you get it just right. I hope if you are stumped with how to style a spot in your own home, you might just get some great ideas and inspiration here! I think there’s something for everyone. And chances are you don’t need to run out and buy anything, it’s probably around and you just don’t know it yet! I get especially excited when I can “reinvent” something I already have in my home (often).
So today a look at some beautiful ways to display accessories and then at the end a wonderful giveaway opportunity courtesy of the ever so lovely Bonnie Neiman of Bonnie Neiman Antiques who has an online shop just dripping with the most beautiful antiques, and best part is her prices are fabulous AND she ships all over the country! Her giveaway is so beautiful, I just know you are going to love it! Ready to begin…..
The idea of a monochromatic collection in a bookcase is so appealing, very soothing and elegant! AthomeArkansas
Mona Thompson knocked it out of the park with this breathtaking vignette on this console, think I need to order me a cherub statue so I can copy! Love the addition of the books and of course fresh flowers!
Cathy Kincaid displayed a beautiful collection of blue and whites in this elegant dining room. Proof that one cannot have too many!
Natalie Merrilyn shows that bathroom styling can be really fabulous!

This is well done, I like the large dramatic bust, a touch of greenery, the silver and all the different shapes, really makes an interesting and eye catching vignette, Joy Tribout
For a more modern/transitional space, do love the idea of a few leaning prints along with a tall orchid for height and a few garden benches, looks fabulous while still maintaining that clean aesthetic.
This somewhat eclectic room has an assortment of interesting objects displayed amongst stacks of books, I think this is a well balance and interesting arrangement, Thornton Designs

A dramatic black and white front hall has a large table brimming with an elegant assortment of accessories, a bronze, books. fresh flowers, a hurricane, a large piece of coral…a winning combination! AD
Joy Tribout treated this bookcase with a common theme- silver. I like how she changed up the objects but all in the same finish, it appears very cohesive.
A beautiful bowl or planter with an orchid is always a sure bet for any spot you are in doubt of! Trust me on this….orchids always save the day:) Decorpad
On my own kitchen island I like to fill over sized blue and white porcelain planters with seasonal flowers…it always adds so much to my kitchen, the one room I spend a lot of time in in my home!
Love the idea of a large silver bowl filled with shells and coral….very very pretty and fresh. Belle Maison
Never underestimate the power of a pair of tall topiaries, they add such drama to this gorgeous console! Bunny Williams
Love the idea of adding a small vignette on a kitchen counter top…..makes it so charming! Add a big bowl with some fruits or veges, a small lamp, a few books….love it! SFgate
So….what do you think? Do you have a “formula” for how you like to use accessories or are you like me and always experimenting? Clearly there is no wrong or right way to do it….it’s all about experimenting and this post has me in the mood to do some tweaking of my own today!
If there is one thing to take away from the post, it’s that you won’t know until you try….so have fun don’t be afraid to switch it up! Having just, as of yesterday taken down the last of our Christmas decor, it’s feeling a little sparse, think its time to play π

Wow Tina! I’m book marking this post .. so many great ideas! As we are getting ready to down size and build our new home I’m compiling all my ideas:) I already follow Bonnie and adore her antiques. This is a wonderful giveaway and I will also follow her on instagram!
happy to see Bonnie in your blog again. She has such exquisite items. Love the vase she’s offering to your followers, just gorgeous, I am following her from a while back. I have to save this post, so many great ideas, A perfect time to show us all those fabulous pictures, I’m in my annual nesting time and I can’t wait to tryout some of these ideas.
Tina what a great post you put together, its so full of great ideas it makes me want to go home and start rearranging! I also love the giveaway, what a beautiful bowl. I signed up for her newsletter and look forward to following along with her. Thank you.
What a beautiful bowl! I can think of many uses for it in my home. Your interior decorating photos always inspire me and I’ve learned so much. I especially like the statue with the urns of pink tulips on each side. I signed up on Bonnie’s site. What a convenient way to shop for antiques! Keep up the good work, Tina!
Bonny’s bowl is gorgeous. I love her online shop and have purchased a number of lovelies from her over the past few years. Of course, I follow her online already and just signed up to follow her on Instagram. Accessories add so much to a room, as your post demonstrates, and I too love playing with them to keep my rooms looking fresh and interesting.
What a beautiful bowl from Bonnie Neiman – want it π !!! I really can’t live in a room without accessories – would feel like a hotel room. Thanks for sharing these gorgeous rooms, Tina. All beautifully layered!!!
This post makes me want to “play house” today! I got a lot of great ideas and already have thought of a few ways to reinvent things I already have as well as bring some books out of hiding! I love your blue and white display Tina in your kitchen, so beautiful. And love that open shelved kitchen (though to me not practical it is so beautiful). Thanks for the intro to Bonnie, she has beautiful things and I am not following her. Would love to win that beautiful bowl.
There’s nothing like using the perfect accessories to create a well edited space and you’re right – there is something for everyone in this post! Thanks for starting off the week with beautiful images and great inspiration, Tina. Stay warm! xxoo C + C
Oh my what a wonderful offer! I know I could find that beautiful bowl a home in my house! Thank you both for the chance to win it! I’ve gone over and signed up on her email but I don’t do Instagram as of yet!
I signed up to follow Bonny’s website, as well as being a new subscriber to your blog. The bowl is versatile, imho. It is Formal, It can be used in festive manner, it could be used in an eclectic setting, a sophisticated bedroom or in a causal setting in any room. If I were to be selected the winner I would use it to go along with some gold and white pieces my sister gave me, from our Aunt’s estate. Thank you, Chris my contact info: treehouse.queen18 (at) (y a h o o) (dot) (com)
Tina took things away here. I love also the idea of statuary on a console, it is such a beautiful look. I am adding it to my list of the next thing to buy. And you have me thinking of adding more books to a few settings in my home, even my nightstand. This was a very informative post. Thank you.
I also love the bowl. It would look beautiful in my dining room which is very light and soft. I can think of many ways to use/display it. I am crossing my fingers.
Tina, You’ve given me a great idea while I’m stuck inside to avoid the frigid temps….re-accessorize my rooms!! π I do love to move things around. I don’t know that I have a formula, but I notice I tend to 1) use trays to corral things 2) stack books and top with an object or candle 3) incorporate orchids or fresh flowers 4) make sure things are at varying heights.
You bet I’d love to win that gorgeous bowl from Bonnie’s shop!!!! Off to sign up AND follow on instagram.
Stay warm across our mutual “pond”! π xoxo Elizabeth
Tina, I LOVE your posts. They always inspire me. Today’s was no different. I wish I had a formula but I mainly go to the internet or magazines to get ideas. I’m constantly in local antique shops so signing up for Bonnie’s findings is a real treat. I have the perfect spot for the beautiful bowl! Hugs!!! Karen
Thank you for the opportunity to win the beautiful bowl; I have always wanted one like that, to display orchids. I am so excited to receive emails from Bonny. Her shop is wonderful! Thank you, Deri
Great post, Tina! I, too, love ‘shopping’ in my house and this recent bitterly cold weather has been a fertile time for restyling the accessories. As for your giveaway – fabulous – and I have had the pleasure of shopping at Bonny’s in Summit, NJ in person. I can confirm that she has an incredible inventory and that her prices are very good. I was in two antiques shops in Boston today where the prices were inconceivable, really, they made me shake my head. Hope you are well! xo, Phyllis
Fantastic post! I have to say that I love the cherub set of 3 statue. I’m one of those that loves the cement garden statues stores you see on the side of the road! I don’t know really why that is but I have to stop and take a look when we are on the road just in case I see something that I can’t resist!
I need to accessorize better…my husband hates clutter so I don’t get to do it as much as I wish I could. What a fantastic giveaway! I signed up for Bonnie’s site and followed her on instagram. We need to get YOU on instagram, my dear! xoxo
very helpful post im with you on the cherub love the vases also i signed up on bonnies site thank you for helping in the offering of the beautiful bowl
Oh….so many of these pictures were some that I worked with today as I sat here for the 5th day in a row from surgery! UGHHHH! I’m ready and willing to get back in the swing of things! Can’t wait for Thursday!! anyway, I’m always stuck in a rut or stuck and not knowing what to do with any given space in my own home! I can always tell someone else what to do…that’s the easy part! I will be studying this post again tomorrow as I sit here again! LOL! Atleast it’s supposed to snow…maybe everyone else will be home as well! Loved this post! Loved all of the pictures!
I happily signed up for Bonny’s shop so thank you for the connection. I am always trying to rearrange things around my home to find that “perfect display of accessories” although I must admit it is a very fluid idea. What is perfect to me one season, needs refreshed the next right? Always love the inspiration your blog gives me so thank you.
So many good ideas all in one place. Thank you I needed this! We just inherited a bunch of things from my parents who sold their home of 40 years to downsize and there are so many wonderful things but I need some direction on how to use them so this post is really timely.
That bowl is exquisite and would work well with my home. I signed up for Bonny’s newsletter. Thank you for the chance.
Doesn’t Bonny have some interesting treasures? I’m hoping to visit her shop one of these days. … already subscribe to the website and blog so I am going to sign up on her Instagram now! BTW loved all of the beautiful photos with great ideas.
What a wonderful and beautiful giveaway! That bowl reminds me of one that Eddie Ross owns and uses in his tablescapes! I am already a follower of Bonny’s shop. She has wonderful items and a feast for the eyes. I wish she was closer so that I could visit the shop!
I feel inspired to redecorate after all these gorgeous photos! And that bowl would look amazing with the “Springtime in Paris theme” I created in my dining room area last week! I subscribed to Bonnie’s website (Mary Jenkins) and followed her on instagram (msmaryjenkins).
Tina great post. I am suddenly rethinking a few vignettes in my own home. I do like the cherubs too and think books can add so much and so easily. The bowl is a beauty, I can think of many uses. Hope to win, I have signed up for her newsletter. Thanks for the chance to you both.
Tina love all the great ideas here. I am definitely going to revisit this site, as it is so filled with ideas, also love the bowl and would be thrilled to win. I promise it would go to a loving home. I love your blue and white porcelain pieces, they are just gorgeous. Thanks for the chance.
What a fabulous post, Tina. So much gorgeous inspiration. And what a fun surprise to be included? Thanks so much. Love the bowl and will definitely visit the site. Have a great day!
I couldn’t agree with you more that playing around with items is the best way to learn. I especially love Mona Thompson’s work shown here. Coincidentally, I posted this morning about a vignette I just did in my bedroom. Just a jewelry display, but it makes me happy. Although I’ll admit when I went to get my jewelry this morning, I was stumped for a second as to why it wasn’t where I thought I left it! I loved this post π Stacy
Thank you for the chance to win a gorgeous bowl from Bonnie Neiman (I signed up for her emails). I know just where to place it in my home after reading your fabulous tips on accentuating-with-accessories.
You have the best giveaways and the best taste. I love all these pictures and pinned about 15 of them. So many good ideas here. I cannot tell you how much inspiration I get from your blog, Tina! I have signed up for Bonnys site. I hope to win.
there is something i am dying to try. a client came into the shop yesterday exalting her sisters talents. one bit i came away with is her sister set up a series of ginger jars under a console, lie one of your images and under the table stuck a puck light. she keeps it on all the time gently highlighting her collection underneath. can’t you just picture it?! cheers debra
I am already getting Bonnie’s emails. I love her antiques. I used to live very close to Summit, NJ, but was not aware of Bonnie’s shop. I have no idea what Instagram is. I guess I should get with it too. I just love the white & gold trim bowl. What a fabulous giveaway!! Faith B
Tina I would be dlighted to win this beautiful bowl. It would go so well in my mostly white living room. I loved seeing all the great ideas for how to display accessories. A keeper for sure. Thanks for the constant inspiration. I signed up for Bonnie’s website.
I love to move accessories around. I wish I had a closet full of extra accessories that I could rotate in and out. Why is there never enough storage space?
I am feeling inspired to mix things up at my house after pouring through this post! ….that beautiful bowl would be a nice addition. π Lori. [email protected]
Love all the beautiful photos. Although I would have to scale things to fit in my home ….still great ideas. I’m now a follower, both via email and Instagram of Bonnie’s website. Thanks for the opportunity to win the beautiful bowl.
Amazing giveaway and amazing selection of rooms with such great ideas! This makes me want to go restyling my entire house ha ha. I also love seeing statuary used indoors. It is beautiful. I hope to win!
Tina, this was such an inspiring post. Thanks for sharing all these beautiful rooms and wonderful ideas for accessorizing. And that bowl-wow! Love it and have the perfect place for it on my dining room sideboard. I signed up to follow Bonny’s website.
I stumbled on your blog some time ago and absolutely love it! Great post-I, too, am drawn to console tables and mantles with beautiful vignettes. I think it’s due to my obsessive need for symmetry by displaying paired vases or lamps! Crossing my fingers for that gorgeous bowl!!! I’m thinking my white orchid would be sweet tucked inside it on my dining room table!

Thank you for the opportunity! Bonny has gorgeous items. Additionally, I signed up for her newsletters.
Love the combination of the white and gold — classy, yet adds just the right amount of bling. Would look absolutely stunning on my dining room table!
What a beautiful bowl from Bonnie Neiman – want it π !!! I really can’t live in a room without accessories – would feel like a hotel room. Thanks for sharing these gorgeous rooms, Tina. All beautifully layered!!!
What a wonderful lesson in how to use accessories. Thank you. The bowl would be fun to use in displays. Peggy from PA
Fabulous inspiration here. Well done! X Sharon
There’s nothing like using the perfect accessories to create a well edited space and you’re right – there is something for everyone in this post! Thanks for starting off the week with beautiful images and great inspiration, Tina. Stay warm!

Oh my what a wonderful offer! I know I could find that beautiful bowl a home in my house! Thank you both for the chance to win it! I’ve gone over and signed up on her email but I don’t do Instagram as of yet!
Another great resource, Tina–thank you! Love the giltwood corner sconce on her website!

Fabulous post, so inspirational, and yet another feast for they eyes!! Thank you for sharing so many great ideas. Have a wonderful week!

Tina,
You’ve given me a great idea while I’m stuck inside to avoid the frigid temps….re-accessorize my rooms!! π I do love to move things around.
Stay warm across our mutual “pond”! π
xoxo Elizabeth
Tina, I LOVE your posts. They always inspire me. Today’s was no different. I wish I had a formula but I mainly go to the internet or magazines to get ideas. I’m constantly in local antique shops so signing up for Bonnie’s findings is a real treat. I have the perfect spot for the beautiful bowl!
Hugs!!!
Karen
Thank you for the opportunity to win the beautiful bowl; I have always wanted one like that, to display orchids. I am so excited to receive emails from Bonny. Her shop is wonderful! Thank you,
Deri
Great post, Tina! I, too, love ‘shopping’ in my house and this recent bitterly cold weather has been a fertile time for restyling the accessories. As for your giveaway – fabulous – and I have had the pleasure of shopping at Bonny’s in Summit, NJ in person. I can confirm that she has an incredible inventory and that her prices are very good. I was in two antiques shops in Boston today where the prices were inconceivable, really, they made me shake my head.
Hope you are well!
xo,
Phyllis
That is one gorgeous bowl and I’m loving all the inspiration here!
Great Post! We moved recently and I everyday I am trying to work on an area of the house. Your photos provide lots of inspiration. Thanks!
Oh…so many enchanting rooms!! And that beautiful bowl would look lovely in any one of them…oh and mine too of course!!
I have gladly signed up to receive information from Bonny’s shop. So many wonderful finds…… and shipping everywhere.
I must agree with you – the little Putti are adorable. I would love to have a statue like that to sit up on my dining hutch.
Creating small vignettes or displays is challenging but fun all the same. It’s where a person’s individuality and personality shine!

Beautiful bowl! I follow Bonnie’s shop and she has such beautiful things.
I loved this post π

what an array of inspiration here tina!
there is something i am dying to try. a client came into the shop yesterday exalting her sisters talents. one bit i came away with is her sister set up a series of ginger jars under a console, lie one of your images and under the table stuck a puck light. she keeps it on all the time gently highlighting her collection underneath. can’t you just picture it?!
cheers
debra

….that beautiful bowl would be a nice addition. π

I so love accessorizing…it’s the delicious icing on a beautiful cake! Thanks for sharing such beautiful vignettes!
I’m thinking my white orchid would be sweet tucked inside it on my dining room table!
gorgeous bowl. I have signed up on the Bonnie Neiman’s website and followed her on Instagram.
Fantastic pictures.
