Hi there…..today is one of my random musings, all over the place kind of posts. A bit of this and a little of that. How was your weekend? Mine was a lot of fun, got to see a great Broadway show, All The Way which I absolutely recommend. Visited my son at his new apt….being the city slicker he now is:) I have been all over the place this week, CT (twice), the city, upstate….busy week.

And at long last the weather is finally really and truly thawing out….hard to believe after our brutal winter. I am enjoying every minute!!With the great giveaways and the Dining Love contest last week……there was a lot going on. This week, I have a few fun things up my sleeve but today is an easy whatever goes kind of day, to share some random thoughts. So lets get this show on the road…..

MY BEDROOM. It continues to slowly come together. I have always said that to me, a bedroom should feel like a lofty cloud, it should be a total refuge and that is what my bedroom has become. I just love the way its coming out. I just gave my chairs to be reupholstered with that beautiful new fabric and had my velvet pillows done, so the finishing touches are in the works. I still need some great art for the walls but as I typically do, I will take my time until I find just the right thing.

This beautiful Beacon Hill fabric will be applied to three existing chairs…..cannot wait! This is one of the velvet pillows.

Love the simple cream velvet with pale blue/gray grosgrain ribbon detailing….IMG_1020 IMG_1019

They look perfect on my slipper chairsIMG_1017

BERKS. Huh? You don’t know what a berk is??? No worries, I made it up…..lol. Its my new name for “blogging perks”. I never thought that I would be sent as many fun gifts as I continue to get. Everything from gifts for Teddy to loads of books (many amazing coffee table books) to samples of things, to amazing skin care! I never say no and let me tell you……I have discovered some incredible products as a result.

Got in a bevy of amazing books…..love that!!

IMG_1029

Both of these books might I say are fantastic! I love? Thom Filicias’s work and the Staircases book is a total work of art.

I recently corresponded with someone who works for La Prairie, the uber exclusive Swiss skincare company. I had always wanted to try their famed Caviar cream and lo and behold, look at what she sent me! Needless to say I having an absolute blast playing and my skin has never looked better!! Thank you, thank you and thank you! I am a believer!

SPRING FLOWERS. I love all of my new faux flowers, which frankly are some of the best I have seen but I also like and very much still enjoy buying real ones too though not quite as often:) I got a bunch of beautiful pink blooms and a little ivy and spruced up one of my favorite very large antique dough bowls, it now graces the center of our breakfast room table for a little breakfast room cheer!

IMG_1003 IMG_1004 IMG_1006 IMG_1007 IMG_1011

And a few of my faux arrangements…

INSPIRED ART. I really love when I hear from my readers. I hear from so many and always enjoy hearing your stories so please keep them coming!? I am also very flattered when I am told that I inspired them to do something in their home or otherwise. Recently I got an email from two very talented artists, the first, a very talented artist Carolina Elizabeth? who told me that several pictures from? my blog inspired her to create this magnificent paintings! Aren’t they amazing…cannot imagine having that kind of talent. Her name is Carolina Elizabeth, click here to see her website.

LE PAIN QUOTIDIEN.? I am kind of obsessed with this darling place….and see they are starting to prop up in some of my favorite spots! First found them on Melrose Ave. in Los Angeles, really liked it, it’s organic, aesthetically right up alley and everything we had was really good. I have been to two of them in the last week, one of my sons block in NYC and the other in Greenwich. Casual, cool and a “feel good” kind of place, you know how when you walk into Starbucks you automatically feel just a little hipper, well this has that same effect in an unexplainable way..kind of makes me feel like I am in a Nancy Meyers movie:) Love the way they are decorated……we sure could use one in my neck of the woods!! Click here to find out more about them.

First off, you Spring flower arrangement is gorgeous. A wee bit jealous of your La Prairie Berk! How awesome is that Berk? I have the cutest pic. of Cooper somewhere, I’ll have to send it over! xo

Good morning dear Tina
I can just feel that you have ‘the joys of spring’!! with some sunshine here today as well, everything feels bright…just loving your pinky winky flowers…and La Prairie…well say no more, a miracle in jar.
Teddy is the star of your pet contest already….he looks adorable having fun in the snow
Have a wonderful day

Berk- gotta love it. I have been using caviar cream for years (mother had me using it at 24)! And I get compliments weekly on my skin, I take very good care of it and that product is amazing. Enjoy that fun box of products!
Your bedroom details are so beautiful Tina as is your floral filled dough bowl. Love the new bags too, think I need to treat myself to one as an everyday summer bag. Your shop is fantastic!

Dear Tina
Carolina and Frances are both very talented painters. Love their way with bringing florals to life!
I am with you on the importance of the Master Bedroom being a refuge! Soft, plush and romantic at the same time!

The Arts by Karena

You are one busy girl, but i can see you love and thrive on it. Love the details on your bedroom, so pretty.
The flowers are all gorgeous (both real and fake)!
The artists who are inspired by you did a beautiful job and I always love to see what is new in your shop, the bags are so pretty. I may have to treat myself to one and my birthday is in June!

Tina Le Pain Quotien (sp) is such a great little spot. We went to one while visiting my sister in DC and fell in love with it. We would love to have one near us in Atlanta. She goes every morning for her coffee (which was very good). I agree you feel good being in such a charming little place like that. Glad you enjoyed it.

Dear Tina,
I think if you did an arrangement of weeds, it would look beautiful. You have such a talent and in many ways you are sooo gifted. Like the rest of your home ( truly enchanted ) there is no doubt that your bedroom will be beautiful when you sprinkle your magic decor dust over it. Your shop is beautiful and filled with eye candy. I think if I ever received a La Prairie gift like yours, they would have to do CPR on me. Lucky you ~ ~

Tina, thank you so much for featuring my paintings on your amazing blog. Your talent and eye for design are incredible and it means so much to me that you like my work. Have a wonderful day!!

What a fun post, Tina. So much inspiration here. Love seeing how your bedroom is coming along – we are working on recovering some chairs in ours – although I think they may end up in the living room when all is said and done – and I LOVE the fabrics and trimmings you’ve chosen for yours! Fantastic idea for the pet love contest. I don’t have a dog of my own, but I feel like my parent’s fox terrier is actually my pet who just doesn’t live with me. She is a sweetheart and so funny. I actually had to take her to the vet this week to have 4 teeth pulled. Poor little thing – I’ll be sending you a picture of her for sure and can’t wait to see the other furry friends your contest brings out to play!

Hope you are having a lovely, lovely week! XOXO

Love this post. So happy to have found your blog through my sister in law. Your bedroom peeks are incredible, love the pillows.
Cannot wait to see your Pet Love contest, what a fun idea. The cafe you featured looks amazing, my kind of place and finally love those bags. When do they arrive?

Happy Wednesday Tina,
I always love reading your random post. They are so full of lots of fun stuff. Wow, what a lucky lady to recieve La Prairie products, amazing. Are you addicted to them yet? Keep us posted on how you like them.

Dearest Tina! What a grand post today, but of course, you always treat us to the best. Your bedroom IS a dreamy space, and I had a PINNING frenzy! I am home sick with my dizziness that is not getting any better, so I’ll be off from work on Thursday and Friday; I can’t drive like this!

Your offerings are just fantastic. Those paintings, OH I could have one of those in my house, but I have no more room! My husband had two large oil paintings done for me a while back, and they cover a large area of the living room. But you inspire in so many ways; those totes….OH DEAR how I could use one of those.I love the finely woven straw and they are perfect for this NEW SPRING weather we are finally having too. We have certainly survived the most wicked of winters.

I am tickled to follow along the pet contest. I need a “comfort animal” right now to give me peace as I sit here dizzy with no relief! Thank you for always creating magic. Love, Anita

Oh, Tina!

I am desperately needing something new for my skin! With three kids and work, I am forgetting to do something for myself… you know? I used Lancome for many years (since I was 25 — I am 33 now) and I am tired of it. I don’t see any results anymore.

The thing is, how to choose the right product? There are so many options out there that I am a little lost… Besides, I don’t want invest in a product that won’t give the results I am expecting to get.

La Praire seems interesting… are you liking it?

Now, how about the tots? They’re perfect for summer!!! Love them!

Have a great day, my friend.

Wow! so much to comment on here Tina. Love the new spring bags and your flowers. I always enjoy peeking into your dinning room or kitchen to see how you’ve styled things up:) Your bedroom is coming along nicely and I cannot wait to see it when completed. Your fabric choices are so soft and pretty. And those paintings..I will be visiting the websites! Thank you for the introduction! Glad you are enjoying some warmer temps finally;)

Love your random posts. I immediately went to order two of those necklaces and one of the bracelets!! great style and they were so reasonable.

Love your style and your bedroom is going to be so pretty. Love that gray blue color. Tina, the bags are amazing, what a perfect every summer tote. The natural and citron colors are especially great looking. How big are they?

I will be sending in a picture of my adorable cat, Lulu soon for the pet contest.

I love the way your bedroom is looking– really just like a cloud with the blue & cream. Lovely!
I recently discovered Carolina Elizabeth’s blog, and love her work. Awesome that she was inspired by photos from your blog!

xo,
Keri

Your mid week musings are some of my favorite posts! The paintings of your flower arrangements are stunning – very cool to be someone’s “muse”. Love your “berks” – too funny. What I would do to have a box of La Prairie arrive on my doorstep! And, thanks for the heads up on the Banana jewelry – I am on my way over to check it out and pick up some goodies for my Florida trip. Have a wonderful day and enjoy the sunshine for me because I am stuck at my desk working today! xoxo

Your the best, thanks for post of photo! I love the pillows for the bedroom and the new trays, wow! I have to check that shop out as well and I think a lovely Summer Bag may be in order!
Best,
Karolyn

So much fun to see your bedroom evolving… what a beautiful haven of tranquility! Love the dough bowl too!

Hello on Wednesday evening Tina!

Love the carpet, fabrics and pillows that you are using in your bedroom – beautiful and so elegant and welcoming all at the same time!

How fun to see your bell jars used in different places!

WOW! You have been busy! I love your new bedroom! It is going to look fabulous! Your flowers look so beautiful that I cannot believe they are faux! I have to take a look at them and get a few for my house!

I have missed visiting you and am looking forward to catching up with all of your posts.
