Hello there, hope you are well. And that you had a great weekend! Ours was a busy one, we had a few dinner plans with friends, went to a business meeting, and had plenty of Phillip time, by far always the highlight of my day. Fall is in full swing and I am just loving every minute of it and now that Halloween has come and gone, I feel like (at least on social media) everyone took a bullet train to Christmas. I literally am overwhelmed seeing it, as I still have my pumpkins out and plan to keep it that way for awhile!

I am all for doing things early and with luck, I will do things a bit earlier this year myself but this rush to get it done on Nov 1st gives me major anxiety. I was stunned at how many homes are fully decked out complete with Christmas trees decorated, stockings hung, every window has a wreath kind of done. Wow….really took me by surprise this year!

OK onward to my post this weekend…..

1 OUR FABULOUS NEW CHIPPENDALE BAR CARTS Couldn’t wait to take one home! I so love these bar carts. Super stylish, in 7 colors and the perfect size. I took one home (actually took two) and did a quick styling on one of them as friends were stopping by prior to going out for dinner. I love this piece, it fits so much having two large shelves and is super chic. We have already sold out of a few colors but have a handful left in some. Click here to see them

2 A FABULOUS FALL THEMED THANKSGIVING FEAST I have been a long time admirer of Barry Dixon’s classic American style, and this incredible pre Thanksgiving set up in his elegant Virginia countryside 20th century home is the perfect backdrop. Looks like something more out of the European countryside. This is so elegant and refined, what a treat for their guests!  His obvious creative flair is in full force here…spectacular! 3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST Lots of pretties this week that caught my eye, many with a fall or even Christmas theme…..

4 A DELICIOUS TUSCAN BEAN SOUP Its soup season! I almost forgot about this one when I first made it last year and it was SO GOOD. So hearty, healthy and definitely is a meal. You can serve this alongside a crusty baguette and you have yourself the perfect comfort food as the cold days are coming…

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3 shallots chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 large carrots chopped
  • 3 stalks celery diced
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 17 oz cannellini beans canned, drained and rinsed
  • 3 cups vegetable broth * see notes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 4 ounces kale or baby spinach

Heat olive oil and add garlic and onions, cook for about 3 minutes.Add celery and carrots until vegetables become soft.

Then add tomato paste, quickly stir, and add beans, vegetable broth, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes

Bring soup to a boil and then reduce to simmer for about another 15 minutes.

Using a hand blitzed gently blitz half the soup in the pot, leaving some of the vegetables, etc as is, this will give it a creamier texture. Then add kale or spinach or both. Let cook until the greens are fully cooked. You can let this simmer for a bit and serve when ready. You can add freshly grated parmesan if you desire. Enjoy!

6 MARTHA Have you watched the new documentary? I was resting before going out last night and started to watch it, heard its great and for the 3o minutes I got to watch, I could see it is definitely going to be a good one. Just came out on Netflix. I hear she has mixed feelings on it, thinks certain parts of her life got more attention than she thought was fair. A good Sunday watch!

7 SUNDAYS SURVEY As many of you know who shop with us I announced several months ago we were phasing out of our beloved silver collection. Though its very popular in the fall and winter, it did not make sense to continue with it because its more of a seasonal item (very difficult decision by the way because I love it so). That said, lately we have had many people inquiring amount if they get can certain pieces in time for the holidays and we have taken some special preorders. Thinking of organizing a one time presale where you would have the opportunity to order some of our best sellers, chargers, candelabras, mini table lamps, chargers, flatware. Curious what you think?

Here is a sampling of some of our best selling pieces. If we do this we would do it later this week for early December delivery

And that is a wrap for this Sunday! Hope you enjoyed my post. Wishing everyone a fun and relaxing Sunday. Today on tap is pickleball (with jackets as its cold today) and then later on, Phillip time (best time of the day) then hopefully will finish watching Martha. I love my lazy Sundays, live for them all week long:) Until next time….

How I love your Sunday morning posts . Today’s feature of the Warrenton Va. duo made it even more special. This is just 30 minutes from my own nest and reminds me of how much I love living in this area!

Blessings to you today

Copper, Bronze, Antiqued Gold…my personal fav. We just oxidized Cor-Ten Steel for planters…my new ❤️ franki

Tina,
I am perplexed why you would entertain the idea of a presale on discontinued items. You had discontinued these items for a reason. When this happens, there will always be a few that still want more. Does it make sense to entertain another go at lack luster performers?
Love your blog. These comments are from my years of experience as a retail buyer snd Interior designer.

Because as stated, many have asked to order a number of our silver items for the holidays! I also stated that silver (for us) turned out to be a much more seasonal item. Did super well in fall and winter not as much in spring and summer. We are always happy to special order things for customers if there is a desire to do so and that’s the case here.Just because we no longer carry the line does not meant they are no longer available..just by special order.

I love my silver pieces and find cleaning them is relaxing. My family loves my holiday tables. I know that I am more formal than many other people! I am a true traditionalist and love everything in your shop. The florals are beautiful.

Our kids are coming into town next W/End & I’m making the Tuscan Bean Soup…looks amazing!! Thanks Tina.

All those bottles of booze on that cart can’t be good for anyone’s health. Besides causing liver disease and cancer, alcohol ages the skin faster than botox can fix it.
