Hi friends! I am back after a wonderful trip to Italy, which I will be sharing over the next week or two. So. much to share, the beauty was overwhelming! Its taken a couple of days to readjust and get back in the saddle.  Ended up getting a miserable abdominal migraine which put me down a full day but finally feeling better (never heard of it? Neither had I) As wonderful as it is being away, it is always comforting to come home to the warm embrace of home. Though I could have easily enjoyed a few more days of Italy:)

So back to my normal schedule of my Seven on Sunday. Hope you enjoy…..

1  GERALD POMEROY Not only is he a customer of ours but he is also an incredibly tautened designer, based in Boston. I have long admired his work and his obvious dedication to traditional design, with a modern twist. Here is an example of his beautiful body of work, click here to take a look at his impressive portfolio.

2 A GREAT NEW MOVIE COMING UP IN SEPT Based upon Elin Hilderbrand’ book,  (love her books)  this looks right up my alley! Starts off like a Nancy Meyers movie but turns darker, great cast. Look forward to seeing it, haven’t see a great new movie in a long long time.

3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST Such a stunning round up! Lots to love here today…

4 A FEW AMAZON STEALS  A lot asked about my packing cubes, these are one’s I got below.  They were fantastic at keeping everything organized and orderly. Highly recommend trying packing cubes (I roll my cloths which result is much less wrinkling and create much more space then put them into the packing cubes You will be shocked at how much you can fit! I bought two sets as I wanted more of the larger cubes and at this price, didn’t have to think twice! Click here

Then found these adorable fabric makeup/toiletry holders. These normally sell for closer to $90-100, and this set was only $24! I couldn’t get over it plus they have many different designs to choose from, what a deal. Click here

5 A FABULOUS LOOK INTO GRAY GARDENS I think its safe to say most of us are familiar with this iconic East Hampton residence of Gray Gardens, which has since been bought and fully renovated by Liz Lange. I cannot tel you how much I enjoyed this video, one of my faves from Homeworhty Not that every design choice is aligned with my own, she loves color and I tend to be shy with it, but somehow it all works and the treillage details, the gardens, the chinoiserie influences what a feast! Enjoy.

6 MY FAVORITE CHICKEN SALD OF ALL ITEM I learned of this recipe years ago and its just a sure thing go to when I want to make chicken salad, I have shared it before and its so darn good and flavorful. I will soon be hosting a baby shower and plan to include this, its always a hit.

BEST EVER CHICKEN SALAD

  • 3 – 4 lbs of chicken parts (bone-in, skin-on thighs and breasts work well) (you’ll need about 3 to 4 cups of cooked chicken) I cut mine super small I use chicken boneless chicken breasts OR you can use a rotisserie chicken which is what I have done the last few times I made it, and it worked great!
  • 2 tablespoons quality olive oil
  • 1 cup of seedless grapes, sliced in half (red and green varieties are great)
  • 1 cup almonds, thinly sliced (optional) This is a must add, gives great texture
  • 2 celery ribs, chopped thinly
  • 3 scallions, thinly sliced, white and green parts
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped ( I about doubled this as I love dill and it adds a lot to this)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 cup mayonnaise (I USE 1/4 cup and 1/2 greek plain yogurt)
  • Juice of 1 lemon or more
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt (start with ½ teaspoon, then add more, to taste)
  • Freshly ground pepper
  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 F.
  2. Rub oil all over the chicken pieces and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  3. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes (internal temp should reach 165 F). .
  4. Remove the chicken, let cool, then pull the meat from the bones and roughly chop.
  5. In a large bowl, mix together the chicken, grapes, almonds, celery, scallions, dill & parsley
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, lemon, mustard, salt and pepper.
  7. Add the mayonnaise mixture to the chicken mixture, and gently stir until will mixed.
  8. Refrigerate for at least an hour.
  9. Serve on a bed of green leaves with sliced tomatoes and avocado. Or, serve on bread with green leaf lettuce. Add more toppings to your taste!

7 SUNDAY’S SEVEN When I go away, I get the travel bug. When I went to Amsterdam in April, I came home and wanted to plan another trip right away. Summer travel feels different, more carefree, longer days, just less fuss. Have you traveled this summer? Are traveling? If the airports and custom lines were any indication, feels like the entire world is headed somewhere (think very very looooong lines). Do you prefer summer travel over other times of the year? Would love to know, check all that apply-

We are planning on a river cruise and extra time in Italy next Spring and would love to see a post on how to pack for a 2 week trip! The shoes! The toiletries! I always overpack but I can’t take too much luggage this time!

For selfish reasons, so glad your’e back, Tina. I so do enjoy your Seven on Sundays! Please share highlights of your Italy trip . My daughter has lived and worked in Italy and is marrying there in 2026. Hope you feel 100% soon.

Really enjoyed seeing the beautiful pictures of Italy, and appreciate you sharing your trip with all of us. Sorry to hear you had the terrible migraine, hope you are on the mend. Take good care of yourself!

I was educated in the Arts since I was roughly 3 yrs old. Starting with Classical Ballet then at 8 under a world famous Michigan who steeped us in the Classics plus teaching us everything their is to know about Color from the basics up. Then on to the University of Michigan School of Architecture and Design. Although my main interest was and still is at 85 yrs old Classical Architecture my mentor by accident was Frank Lloyd Wright whom i met accidently while he visted as a guest lecturer. So I have a great respect for all architectural periods although they may not be for me personally. I know you should not say anything if you can not say something nice about someone but I will say here that this woman should be banned from buying Classical Architecure and “restoring” it. She has no feel for this home what so ever. I love color lots of color but this home inside of it bears no relationship to its architectual heritage. The Bradleys, at least, had a feeling for the Architecture of the home and its location. So many possibiites and so much disappointment. I want to cry looking at what she did with the interiors of this beautiful , “historical” home” with her ” terrible taste.” So sad. I would have loved to have seen Sister Parish decorate that home. Normally i love Mark Sykes but he really failed on this one…. In closing its the decorating of the home i have serious problems with not the Architecture or restoration of the house. The two are worlds apart and sadly i often see this happen. Money does not give you taste, It just popped into my mind Cathy Kinkaid could probably have understood this home and done a good job with it. I apologize for my being critical but to do this to this home is criminal in my humble opinion. And sadly it often happens.;

Welcome back Tina! Loved following along on your trip via instagram, you and you are family are beautiful and looks like it was an incredible time.
I loved the Gray Gardens tour, as you said very colorful, not every detail to my liking but I loved Liz’s passion and energy, it seems like a happy house and those gardens are something else.
Trying your chicken salad, I think I saw it before and forgot to make it, not letting it go this time. Lastly, I got in my bar.. oh my lord it is INCREDIBLE. Even more beautiful in person! Thank you for your wonderful creativity.

I agree with NANCY + WHITEHEAD. Money don’t buy taste. Home could be gorgeous. Gardens are gorgeous.

Wow, fabulous house tour of Grey Gardens. Now I want to read more about its history in more detail. Amazing how it’s been renovated inside and the gardens all re-created. Very unusual strong color and pattern choices mix together in abundant profusion! Just a stunning house and surrounding landscape now.

I just ❤️ these…thank you fir these marvelous Sunday soecials…lookjng forward to MOVIE…oooh -la-laaa!!! franki
