Hi there, hope you are having a nice weekend. Rough week for me but the weekend got much better because yesterday I threw a baby shower for my daughter in law (still getting used to saying that) It was such a fun and magical day and made it all feel so real. We are very very excited for the big day! I forgot both how much fun it is to plan a party and how much work it is too:)

Of course, I am a real stickler for details so that makes things feel like more work, definitely not a “go with the flow” kind of gal. But everything came out as I had hoped/envisioned it and it was really beautiful.  3 guests came down with Covid (rearing its ugly head around here) and a few more were caught up in the craziness of the grounded flights, one of them landed at JFK as the shower was starting but still made it in time for cake, that’s what I call perseverance!  It was a very very special day!

Today hope to get some rest then off to being a guest at someone’s house later on. OK, time for my post…….

1 MY GARDEN  Well after a really brutal string of blistering hot days (not unlike many parts of the country), my garden was feeling very overheated.  Thankfully,  it’s bounced back and producing all kinds of yummy things. Lots of herbs, zucchini galore, too many cucumbers and tomatoes are ripening, picked my first little container of cherry tomatoes. Few things are as pleasurable as waling into a garden and seeing what’s ready to pick, very cathartic. I even nursed my hydrangeas back and they are once again blooming!

2 BABY SHOWER SETUP I will do a post on the baby shower I just hosted  but had to share a few behind the scenes from the setup of this special day. Will do a big post on the shower hopefully this week (working on two big ones, the Italy trip and the shower) Coming up soon! It was a lot of work but such fun to plan for:)

Our beautiful small blue/white cups were perfect for individual crudités and we passed them on our new large rectangular pale blue lacquer tray.

LOVE our new scalloped pale blue round tray!! These will be online tomorrow (pink, green and pale blue)

l

Beautiful flowers were sprinkled all over in the softest shades of whites and blues

The chinoiserie platform was perfect for the magnificent cake, these are in our closeouts starting at only $35!! This one is the large, we have a handful left Click here

Our new white wicker mini vases will also be online tomorrow, adore them!

And our incredible new pale blue trellis planter with removable liner, another newcomer that will be online tomorrow

Loved being able to use one of the bars, did as last cutting from the yard filled our bird ginger jars, and used our beautiful bamboo large square planters as beverage holders.

3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST Always a bounty of beauty, lots of flowers and white houses this week….

4. A FEW FUNNIES JUST BECAUSE These were so funny I had to share, always therapeutic to get a good laugh!

5 LAMPSHADES! This was a great an informative video produced by Schumacher, worth sharing.  Designer Nick Olsen covers some of the most often asked questions about picking a lampshade and demystifies a few things too:)

6 DOLCE AN GABANNA IN MONTAUK! Blue and white has hit the Hamptons! How gorgeous is this…supposed to go out there this week to check it out.Dolce and Gabana has taken over with a blue and white beach club and opened a popup shop over at Gurneys in Montauk. Apparently its been a huge hit, since when is blue and white not a hit! A little bit of Amalfi coast hits the Hamptons. Click here to find out more

6 MY FAVORITE NEW BATH PRODUCTS, SANTA MARIA NOVELLA. I have had two of their perfumes and love them but I discovered their extensive bath products while in Italy and oh my word, I am totally addicted! Santa Maria Novella based in Florence has been a family owned company since, if you can believe it….1221.

About 800 years!! The quality of their products is fabulous, they are pricey but worth the indulgence in my opinion. This is the first bath product in years that I flipped out over, love them!  The bath gel, liquid hand soap and body wash are out of this world. These are my new favorites, smell heavenly!! Next scent to try is magnolia which I heard is lovely too but this Angeli di Firenze is just delightful.

Click here to read about their story, really worth the read!

7 SEVEN ON SUNDAY When it gets to 90+ I immediately start daydreaming about fall. Of course, fall is also my most favorite season. I love a lot about summer, the longer lazier days, gardening season, beach days and lobster rolls but nothing holds a candle to fall. Curious if you are ready for fall or want summer to linger as long as possible? I think I will enjoy the next few weeks but will welcome early fall with open arms:)

And that’s a wrap! Hope you enjoyed my post this Sunday. Wishing everyone a happy and relaxing day. Until next time….
