Happy Wednesday! Hope everyone is off to have a wonderful day. Tell me who doesn’t have some amour for chairs! We all have them, and I am nearly sure we all love them. Can you imagine a room without them?  I cannot even begin to wrap my head around all the different styles, frames, fabrics and colors that chairs come in,…its endless. They often anchor a room with the way they are scattered throughout, or may be flanking a fireplace…..without them well our interiors would be rather boring and mundane.
Today I focus on a wide rage of chairs, scalloped, club, wing, French caned back, wood framed, side chair, etc…the list goes on! Do you have a favorite kind of chair you like to use when decorating? A favorite type of fabric to use on the chairs? All I know is there is nothing quite as nice as sinking into a really comfortable chair (one with down really helps) and getting comfy and cozy, perhaps with a good book, a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. Add an ottoman, big bonus points! I love chairs not only in the obvious places like living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms but in bathrooms and in foyers, back halls and even stair landings. Chairs know no bounds…so lets take  a look!

Perfect timing! I am in the market for new
dining chairs and this post has me thinking
of doing a slipcovered chair. So many
beautiful things to admire
Love all the choices but the slipcovered
ones are really speaking to me. Thank you
so much for putting this together!

I can’t pick!!! I love them all. Once again a fabulous post. Where do you find such fantastic images?? I feel like when I search for home design and can never seem to find exactly what I was looking for.

Beautiful eye candy this morning, Tina! I loooove chairs. In my living room, instead of getting a love seat to match the sofa, we got two matching chairs, and then a club chair in a different fabric for the other side.

My ultimate favourite chair of all time however, is the Louis Ghost chair by Phillip Starck! In clear of course. I was lucky enough to find a great looking, cheaper knock off to indulge my fantasy!

so much inspiration! i desperately need a chair that makes a huge statement in both my living room and bedroom so this is amazing timing!

Great Post! I love chairs of all kinds. It’s hard for me to discriminate. I love that one image of the three oversized chairs. Our family friend has a similar arrangement at her beach house – 4 oversized chairs in front of a big bay window overlooking the beach. It’s the perfect seating in my opinion. It’s always nice for people to walk in a room and feel they are invited to sit. Especially lazy people like me πŸ™‚

What a great post! I have a chair fetish too, among other things!
Love your collection of images. Thanks for including mine. Isn’t that leopard chair adorable? Thanks for following me. I’m already a follower of your beautiful blog! ~Delores

Tina, what a gorgeous line-up!!! I loved so many of them I don’t know where to begin!! Thank you so much for your gracious comment on my entry hall this morning. I really appreciate it,coming from you who has the most amazing home I think I have every seen. You have amazing taste so your compliment meant a lot to me, Kathysue

Tina,

I could not possibly pick one chair as my favorite, I like so many and as you say without them a room would be boring. One thing I really dislike is how hard is to find beautiful chairs (I mean at good price and vintage). I once found the perfect pair of french art deco chairs at 1stdibs and when I called to ask to hold them for me they were gone. It was really disappointed.

Happy Wednesday!

Nice post. Unique. Inspiring. I like a chair with arms, comfortable, not low to the ground, and not too deep. Is that picky? The design and fabric I’m less picky.

My favorite are the yellow damask chairs you featured! I have a gorgeous wicker chair in my bathroom that I got as a bargain at World Market. I put a silk pillow in it that’s aqua with pearl detailing and matches my bedspread!

I love them all from the new to the old, the smal to the tall I collect chairs, I can’t seem to help myself. Every time I take a chair in to be re upholsteried it’s either linen or silk velvet love silk velvet but it’s hot during the summer.

Tina – What a delightful collection of chair pics! I’ve always been partial to french provincial accent chairs, and anything by Barbara Barry.
Your posts are always a wonderful source of inspiration!

I LOVE chairs..you might say I have a love affair with a chair…well..you could say it but-you know that is kind of strange when you put it out there, isn’t it?!;>) Anyway, I love those gilded chairs and the dining room ones with the stripes down the back…and the button back ones. Oh…I love them all.

A couple of years ago I was looking at chairs and thought I had found the perfect chairs and that MyHero would love them too. Haul him to the store (because you remember I DRIVE and HE RIDES). Anyway, we go in and I show him these perfectly wonderful slipper chairs. Well? I queried, Do you love them? No! What? Why Not?
Well, there’s NO armrests on them! What? Well, where will I put my arms? Uh…duh…in your lap!!! Well, he responded, that would be just weird. Sigh…I kept looking! Seriously! WHO needs arm rests? lol Great post! xo Diana

Love chairs as well and trying to get my hubby to buy me 6 new dining chairs…..so far not good. (Say a prayer for me πŸ™‚ anyway I love this post and I love the purple chairs not sure for my home but they are fun! How did you block all those chairs together? Love it! I need to take a computer class this summer to learn all of the cool tricks!

I’m really loving ALL the chairs! I collect chairs, too. Just can’t pass up a good-looking chair. And, since I seem to find beautiful chairs at reasonable prices… well, you understand, don’t you? I really have more than I can use at one time, so I rotate them out. Is this sick or what?! Great post.

These are all fabulous chairs! I actually have two chairs as in your first photo which I upholstered in a Marimekko fabric several years ago.

I loved most all the chairs. my fav being the modern looking ones (probably the least comfortable & I do love to be comfortable).
Pic #9, after all those beautiful chairs ONE thought jumped straight in my mind, i want to toss aside the throw pillows, crawl into that cozy simple bed & pull the duvet to my ears:)
BTW you will laugh, in my shop I have no office.
Have a bed instead, down pillow &duvet.Everything linen as that is my fav.for decades bedding & a possum blanket. (eco, the possums are over running country, custom from New Zealand, stunning. I drove the furrier CRAZY with specifics). Tis my “office”, do my computer work from, read, people join me to talk (even new clients) on my office. My GFs love it too. Back to chairs, have a few in shop, not like ones in picture ( i designed mine) but think a few modern ones would be lovely addition to my office. Keep me awake:)

You know I love a great chair Tina! I love them in an entry – especially the Suzanne Kasler one with the turquoise glass – gorgeous! I love the idea of buying a pair of unique chairs and either using them together – either side of a table in an entry, as accent chairs at the ends of a dining table, or separated for accents in various rooms – so many possibilities! Great post. πŸ™‚

Lots of great chairs in this post! I have a soft spot in my ♥ for the Imperial Trellis chairs from Brown Design. Ryan’s one of my all time fave designers and one of my all time fave patterns is the Kelly Wearstler IT.

Candace
