Hi everyone! So hope you are having a wonderful week. Today is another random musings post about a whole lot of things…kind of all over the map. Its a great day for me to chat about this and that, which I am getting quite good at I must say:) So lets get going shall we!

House biz….So excited to show you my almost completed powder room! Honey onyx countertop went in, sink and faucet coming in today. At last we are nearly done. Waiting on mirror and chandelier and then this baby is a wrap! I really love love love the way it turned out. Its all I hoped for. So, take a look…….
Was expecting wallpaper hanger to come this week but now he is away so hopefully next Wed. this will get hung, but here is the back bathroom in progress. Added one of my favorite silver planters from my shop to the vanity, and think it looks so pretty, what do you think?
Moving along to my guest room. Got the toile fabric and decided on a check which I then found out was back ordered 8 long weeks. Not happening. I like instant gratification so scoured for another back up. Found one which I actually like I believe nearly as much, so here it is. As we speak this guest room is about to go into production, and I cannot wait till its all done. You know I will be sharing! Draped the two fabrics over two pillows on the settee to give you an idea………
Just finished That Old Cape Magic and have to say I really enjoyed it, its a definite recommendation, entertaining well written and a book you can finish in a weeks time. I really like Richrad Russo’s writing style….going to get his other books.
Speaking of books, last night ordered two new design books…have you gotten either? Have all of Charles and Betty Lou’s books so happy to add these to my growing collection……
Posted about these before, and I must say they are heavenly good, worth posting about again..trust me! I am not saying they are diet friendly but I am saying they are what I would call
“comfort cookies” 🙂
Ingredients for Pistachio cream cheese cookies
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 3 ounce package cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons finely shredded orange or lemon peel (optional)
1/2 cup finely chopped lightly salted pistachio nuts
In a large bowl, combine butter and cream cheese. Beat with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add powdered sugar, baking powder, and salt. Beat until combined, scraping bowl occasionally. Beat in egg and vanilla until combined. Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer. Using a wooden spoon, stir in any remaining flour. If desired, stir in orange peel.
Divide dough in half. Shape each half into a 7-1/2-inch-long roll (about 1-1/2 inches in diameter). Roll in pistachio nuts. Wrap each roll in plastic wrap or waxed paper. Chill about 1 hour or until dough is firm enough to slice. Or freeze dough for up to 2 months.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Cut rolls into 1/4-inch slices. Place 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake in the preheated oven for 7 to 9 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Transfer to a wire rack; cool. Makes about 44 cookies.
Are you a makeup junkie? I am a former makeup hoarder. I used to buy it all the time, multiples and forget when I actually loved something……I bought them by the 3’s and 4’s to be assured I would not run out. I take the “high-low” approach, some things I spend a lot on because I feel its worth it, other things not as much. Was at a bookclub meeting and one of the girls brought a friend who was visiting her for the week who is an actress, she shared a few secrets from the makeup artists that she’s worked with, one of which was the new mascara by Maybelline “Falsises”….so naturally I had to try it. Well shes right, its awesome! I was using Dior and Borghese’s mascaras both which I liked, but this one I like even better and its a third of the price. So…worth checking out.
Store updates……all new crystal hurricane candles are now up for sale. They are stunning, with four new added styles. Remember when the candle is gone, you can send back for a refill (1.00 an oz) but so worth it. By far my favorite candle EVER.

Also dough bowls continue to be a very popular item and with good reason, they are so beautiful and allow you bring a little bit of the past into your kitchen. I am so excited to have a new source from France who I met in person and I fell in love with this things. At the moment he had more of the small-medium sized ones which are so hard to find. So I bought what he had of the small rounds which are hard to come by and have 6 coming in and the sm-med. long ones (4 coming in). I am keeping one of each for myself, they are really beautiful and dark wood which is my personal fave. Here’s a few pics. Email me if interested to [email protected] They are due here on Monday!
Also the gorgeous chargers that I had gotten in sold out right away. I unexpectedly got in a small batch. Announcing it here first, its first come first serve. They are sold in sets of 4’s. You know I love a monogram on anything so this is very fitting for me to carry this line! Awesome for gifts and equally fab gift for yourself. Where do I begin? LOVE your bathrooms, and that silver planter is so beautiful. The onyx is very rich. All the new products are fantastic, the mongram soap is such a great and personalized gift. The wallpaper looks GREAT! as always;-) While looking at the shop, it reminded me of being a youngster looking at the Christmas catalogs. Love the 2 cherubs playing. We are in the process of building a new enclosed porch and what a terrific focal point it would be looking out the windows!

It’s the powder room drapes that are either mine or very close to mine in my living room! I love them with that wall paper! I love your guest bath so, so much! I love the canvas with the Springers. I have two old sisters that are 14 and “hanging in there”. I also think the new nut dished with the acorn and squirrel are adorable! Can’t wait for fall.
Funny about the mascara, I spend a fortune on makeup but do not for mascara, think its a crock. I buy Maybelline and Loreal and they work great, I will have to try this one.
Your taste is absolutely flawless, your bathrooms and home are worthy of their own coffee table book. It was such a smart move to open a shop, because so many admire your taste that it allows everyone to have a little bit of you in their own homes. I love the blue and whites I bought from you and the linens. I would definitely buy the soaps and candles, and really want a dough bowl, its next on my list.

Tina, there is so much to comment on here, but I find myself stuck on those pistachio cream cheese cookies. Yes, please! Your house is coming along beautifully! Don’t you just hate it when you fall in love with a fabric only to find it back-ordered (or even worse discontinued). There was snow on the ground when I was choosing fabric for our living room, dining room and family room window coverings… and they just went up this week. Sigh. But, I have to say, now that they are here it was worth the wait! Love seeing all the progress with the powder rooms! The flowers in the silver bowl along with the beautiful array of soaps are the perfect touch to an elegant room! I have to say i love the way you understand when to be formal and when to be more casual with checked fabric and material mix . The mix of patterns and textures for the power room are beyond great

My Daughter is a makeup artist and she got me hooked on Rimmel mascara…. the big apple green tube. My lashes were coming out because my expensive mascara was drying them. The $10 Rimmel has collagen builder in it – my eye lashes are fuller and longer than they have ever been.
So hard to choose just one thing! I love Mabel, but I totally love the napkin holder sized silver tray… I think it might be sold out and also would be thrilled to own any dough bowl and bavarian bread board. I’d then just need you to come over and cook and present the items, so I could host an awesome party.
I would have a hard time choosing, but I love those Spanish olive trays. I can think of many ways to use them in my kitchen and for casual entertaining!

Hi Tina, haven’t been here in a while, we were busy moving. So miss visiting. I see you have been really busy, your bathrooms are just beyond beautiful, just take my breath away! I love all the new things coming in and would order the monogrammed goodies during the holidays. I love my dough bowl that I got from you and just filled it with lemons and limes on my counter, it looks so beautiful. I have to say your lanterns and pheasant pillows are my next favorite thing and on my wish list now that we are settling in. The powder is absolutely as lovely as can be! And all the new items in your store are too! On the make-up front: I used to buy only very expensive make-up and apply it very carefully. Now I buy some that’s less expensive as I’ve read and discovered that the packaging is the only difference sometimes. I also take one third the time to apply it as I used to. Now that I’m in my 40s my priorities and interests have changed so much!
The paper in the powder room is just gorgeous. That’s all I can say! Love the silver piece on the counter top and the toile and plaid fabric is perfect. Can’t wait to see the finished project.
Since I am about to embark and making a strange space in my home into an office/study for myself I was thinking a bell jar astern would be a perfect way to dress up the space so for me it has to be the…….Ribbon with etching bell jar lantern!

Hello! I was wondering where you have been.But I can see from your blog that between the house projects, Teddy’s injuries, travel, your store which is fabulous and life that you do not seem to have a minute to yourself! Thank you for stopping by. I do hope that you make the French Onion soup, it is so good. Everyone that has had it said it is the best they have ever had. Frankly anything that I have made or modified from Americas Test kitchen is delicious.
Let me know if you make it, after the first two hours in the oven, the next 30 minutes are a little time consuming but worth it.

It’s the powder room drapes that are either mine or very close to mine in my living room! I love them with that wall paper! I love your guest bath so, so much! I love the canvas with the Springers. I have two old sisters that are 14 and “hanging in there”. I also think the new nut dished with the acorn and squirrel are adorable! Can’t wait for fall.
Funny about the mascara, I spend a fortune on makeup but do not for mascara, think its a crock. I buy Maybelline and Loreal and they work great, I will have to try this one.
Your taste is absolutely flawless, your bathrooms and home are worthy of their own coffee table book. It was such a smart move to open a shop, because so many admire your taste that it allows everyone to have a little bit of you in their own homes. I love the blue and whites I bought from you and the linens. I would definitely buy the soaps and candles, and really want a dough bowl, its next on my list.

Tina, there is so much to comment on here, but I find myself stuck on those pistachio cream cheese cookies. Yes, please! Your house is coming along beautifully! Don’t you just hate it when you fall in love with a fabric only to find it back-ordered (or even worse discontinued). There was snow on the ground when I was choosing fabric for our living room, dining room and family room window coverings… and they just went up this week. Sigh. But, I have to say, now that they are here it was worth the wait! Store looks great and I think that the AP08 candlesticks would be perfect on my mantel and the AP35 ginger jar would be at home in my master bath! Happy Wednesday!!! XOXO

I have to say i love the way you understand when to be formal and when to be more casual with checked fabric and material mix . The mix of patterns and textures for the power room are beyond great

My Daughter is a makeup artist and she got me hooked on Rimmel mascara…. the big apple green tube. My lashes were coming out because my expensive mascara was drying them. The $10 Rimmel has collagen builder in it – my eye lashes are fuller and longer than they have ever been.
So hard to choose just one thing! I love Mabel, but I totally love the napkin holder sized silver tray… I think it might be sold out and also would be thrilled to own any dough bowl and bavarian bread board. I’d then just need you to come over and cook and present the items, so I could host an awesome party.
I would have a hard time choosing, but I love those Spanish olive trays. I can think of many ways to use them in my kitchen and for casual entertaining!

The powder room is stunning and I really like both the paper and the gold planter in the back again shower.
The powder is absolutely as lovely as can be! And all the new items in your store are too! On the make-up front: I used to buy only very expensive make-up and apply it very carefully. Now I buy some that’s less expensive as I’ve read and discovered that the packaging is the only difference sometimes. I also take one third the time to apply it as I used to. Now that I’m in my 40s my priorities and interests have changed so much!

I was wondering where you have been.But I can see from your blog that between the house projects, Teddy’s injuries, travel, your store which is fabulous and life that you do not seem to have a minute to yourself! Thank you for stopping by. I do hope that you make the French Onion soup, it is so good. Everyone that has had it said it is the best they have ever had. Frankly anything that I have made or modified from Americas Test kitchen is delicious.
Let me know if you make it, after the first two hours in the oven, the next 30 minutes are a little time consuming but worth it.
