Hello and a happy Sunday to you. We are enjoying some really mild weather, which is a nice treat after a truly brutal winter. Before I begin, I am still tweaking my blog and there are several things not quite right so consider it a work in progress. Today I will working on my font for my posts and? a new blogroll so do not be alarmed if you cannot find it or you see yourself missing. Hopefully my diligence and hard work will pay off:)
I am starting a new series called “Come on in’. This will be an open door to my home and some of the finished (or almost finished rooms). I get a lot of emails from people wanting to know a lot of details about my home, sources, colors, etc…..I am totally flattered! I will feature a different part of the house maybe once or twice a month.? I unfortunately cannot always answer each and every email and am sure some slip through the cracks.So….thought this would be a fun way to walk you through some of my rooms and tell you a little bit about what I have done in my home, materials used, and how it came to be. First stop today is my bathroom.
When we built this house, both my husband and I had “his and her baths” high on our wish list. Who doesn’t love to primp on their own turf knowing it’s theirs and theirs alone! So….that is what we got, and I feel very fortunate and cannot tell you how much I love having my own bathroom. I had visions of what I wanted it to look like from the getgo. Very soft, white, light filled, touches of blue, calm, quiet and serene but very luxurious, a true refuge. And after tweaks here and there, I got just that. While there are still a few things left to do for the most part the bathroom is done, woo hoo!
Here is the lowdown-
The bathroom is painted half linen white and half white dove with white dove trim by Benjamin Moore
Custom molding and reed detailing for the “chair rail” and bottom half applied molding detailing
The mirror used above tub is antique mirror
Prints are from Trowbridge (but no longer made)
Calcutta Gold moldings and pencil molding from another excellent and well priced online resource, Basketweave Mosaics
The rock crystal sconces are from Visual Comfort (Thomas O Brien), they were sold out forever but they were worth the wait!
The gorgeous waterjet scalloped tile is from New Ravenna and is Calucutta Gold select marble
Chair is from Currey and Co. (have not recovered seat cushion yet)
So that’s the lowdown on all the elements that make up this room, now it’s time to invite you in……
?
Thanks for coming on in! And of course for always stopping by to see whats happening over here. Hope you are off to having a fabulous day, talk to you soon.
Tina-
Your bathroom is outrageously gorgeous! I certainly wouldn’t change a thing! You have exquisite taste, friend.
Isn’t it nice to have a reprieve from this winter we have had. It is high sixties and sunny here. Thank you, Lord.

Your bathroom is amazing! Your tub is I think would have to me be my most favorite part if I had to choose which is so hard to do. Also love how your new blog look is coming along.
Tina what a fabulous bathroom you have created, a real oasis. It must be so nice to close the door at the end of a stressful day and take a bubble bath in that gorgeous tub! I love your inspiration and ideas and have gotten some really good ones myself from your bathroom! We are building a house and hope to start our bathrooms in June sometime. The marble choice is so beautiful and will always look so classic and relevant. Just beautiful in every way.
Tina! Everything looks so elegant and pretty .. those shades are gorgeous and I need to get those for my bathroom! The blue and white ginger jars and the bell jars are perfect. Love it all and wonderful post! Have fun today. xxleslie
Happy Sunday to you, Tina!
Glad the weather is mild, and you have a break from the bitter cold and storms.
You have created a gorgeous sumptuous elegant incredibly beautiful bathroom for yourself!
Thank you for sharing all the pictures and details!
I cannot imagine how many hours and hours went into choosing everything. Really splendid.
You must be so happy every time you walk into that part of your house, knowing that your decision to have ‘his’ and ‘hers’ was exactly the right one:)
What an enchanting space to relax in. I can imagine the stresses of the day being released by the soothing colors, and the pure beauty of the room surrounding me as I soak in that gorgeous tub filled with the fragrance of lavender……..mmmmmm. Oh, I’m sorry, I got carried away with pretending this was MY house!!
Lovely. [email protected]
So, so pretty! Thank you for sharing your paint colors…paint is always a tricky part of the process. Just wondering if you know the paint and glaze colors on the bathroom vanity. I know you have answered this question before, but it is such a controversial topic…you know “is marble too porous?” It is such a beautiful look, but many of our clients are scared to use it. Would you weigh in one more time?
That might be the prettiest bathroom ever! Love it, its so soft and serene. We are about to embark on a massive renovation project, including his and her baths (not as large but I am still so excited to finally my own bathroom)! My husband wants black and white but after seeing yours think all white for me, I love how you accented with the blue but could add any color really if you wanted to change the look. Very elegant, Tina. Thank you for sharing it and all the resources and I look forward to “coming on in” to other rooms in your home….
Tina… I am so excited for your new series! Your bathroom is breathtaking, asis so fitting for you and your home. Love the lining of the window treatments. It must be hard for you travel… I don’t think the 4 Seasons or the Ritz can compare with the beauty of your bathroom. Have a fabulous week. #1 and I are off to meet Sista and nef #1 in NYC. I got tickets to the Katie show. Can’t wait. Hopefully the snow will stay away!

Your bathroom is just so serene and beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your
sources. Your willingness to share your design ideas is so inspiring and speaks to your generosity.
Happy Sunday, Tina! These are marvelous photos; I love the mirror over your tub with the silverish patina to it. Your blue and white vase is spectacular! Thank you for inviting us into a room seldom seen! The marble flooring is just a dream. Happy week my friend! Anita
Such a tease with only one cabinetry photo! Will you please show us more? Id love to see the views from the tub of your entry wall too. And the floor plan. I lust after your beautiful floor and your window treatments are inspiring. Thanks!
I’ve missed your blog so much, but it’s just so tedious and painful and time consuming getting online here. Still driving me crazy. I’m glad I persevered today, to see these stunning images of your beautiful bathroom. It is a feast for the eyes. So beautiful, every last detail. I think you new website is fabulous, looks very elegant and very you. It takes a while to get the gist of WP and to iron out all the kinks, but you’ll get there.
Tina,
Your bathroom makes me think of the most glamorous boutique hotel and what you might find there….only BETTER!!! Your attention to detail and choice of materials is outstanding. I will bookmark this for my future master bath redo. I’m especially partial to that morrocan style marble floor!!!!
What a fun new series! Tina, I love your gorgeous bathroom – it looks so calming and relaxing and you’ve used some of my favorite materials. I especially love the tile you chose for your floor and the details like the pretty chair and ginger jar. We also have a marble and white master bath (with a few blue and white accents, of course) and to me it creates a peaceful, clean atmosphere that makes it one of my favorite rooms in the house.
Thanks for inviting us into your home!
Hope you’re week is off to a lovely start. Enjoy the mild weather – it’s pouring down rain here once again.
Not sure how I missed this new series, I already love it! The bathroom is stunning! I love the tub as there is nothing better after a long day than a nice bubble bath.
Everything looks wonderful! I cannot wait to see more!
Enjoy the weather I think there is more snow coming!!! I cannot take it any more!!!
Oh, I love this! And, thank you for sharing the paint colors. I have been agonizing over what color to paint the walls in my powder room (the trim is already painted dove white) – after reading your post, I knew exactly what I want – your half linen/half dove white is perfect!
Stunning! Using the Linen White kept the room from feeling cold and I love the shades, fabric and trim on the windows in both rooms! Can’t wait to see the rest of your rooms highlighted like this one.
What a fantastic room, you clearly have exceptional taste. We have recently moved house and I will be trying to recreate some of the beautiful ideas you have shared in my own bathroom. Keep sharing!

A question about your beautiful london shade. Does the blue and white check go partially up, and the lining to the rest of the shade white?
thanks,
