Hi there, can’t believe the week is nearly over! Well,? after a very very long day in the city on Tuesday for my clients first round of delivery/window installations, it was? a definite success. You always hold your breath for the “big day” for a host of reasons…..will everything fit in the freight elevator all 22 floors up? Will it arrive in one piece! Will it look as great in the apt as it did in the showroom, etc……and indeed it did and even better!

I am having a lot of fun with this project because its a departure from my own home, transitional but GORGEOUS, sophisticated, a slice of heaven in the sky….only downside is when I go there, I have to walk up 22 flights (I do not EVER take elevators) but it’s worth it when you arrive…..the views they have are to die for). So more on that as we continue to make progress….here we go with random musings.

The chargers.

I featured these on a post I did on playing around with plates and got a lot of inquiries about them and yes they are for sale and are on my online shop! Incidentally as my online shop is about to relaunched any day now, I have decided to offer them up for a 2 day current promotion along with a bunch of other fabulous silver goodies, just started last night and will end Friday night .

Click here for details and yes they are beyond fabulous! Guaranteed to take any table setting to “the next level”. Here they are being used in various settings in my own home, I love them and use them all the time…….

Around the house.

I have a lot going on around here Doing some fall landscaping/cleanup. Putting some finishing touches on my bedroom, it’s slow going but it is getting there. Finally got the wallpaper ordered and it’s going up as we speak? in that small powder room and loving it. I am actually going to feature it in a another round of “Come on in” early next week so you will get to see it then, Here is a tiny sneak peek……should be all done by later today.

A fall themed dinner party.

We just decided to host a dinner/cocktail party for friends late Sept. My husband has been wanting to put this together for a while as there were people he wanted to have over so finally we just did it. Sent out invites and I need to get very busy. I have a lot of ideas going through my head. I am very tempted to repeat almost exactly what I did for my sons graduation party as it was so pretty, it worked beautifully and I know it now like the back of my hand:)

?But then there is also this variation that I have saved ever since I saw it (thanks Howard)? and I could use my exquisite new chinoiserie melamine! To be decided…….

Flowers and orchids.

If you have been coming to my blog for 2 weeks or 2 years you know I love flowers, both real and good faux. I was thrilled to find a fabulous source for great faux flowers and do really well with them. The orchids are some of the best I have seen and once you add moss you have even the most skeptic critic fooled! I just got in the single stem orchids, this is hte perfect size for almost anywhere, a desk, nightstand, atop a stack of books…glad I ordered a lot of them!

Then to add to my flowers clusters I have added this beautiful pink/cream cluster, so pretty! Take a look (these will both be online within the week)

Inspiration from my instagram friends.

I was floored at these darling cupcakes my buddy Marilyn from Pink Martini and Pearls made for an event, seriously there is no end to her amazing and awe inspiring talent.

My gardens bounty.

OK? so it was a small yield this year, but it was so gratifying to walk out in the morning and pick my own fresh basil, cucumbers, tomatoes, bellpeppers, eggplants and other veges. Nothing tastes like something pulled right from the ground especially a still warm tomato. Here is my most recent “crop”…..hardly enough to start my own farm stand but fun nonetheless:)

Shop News.

Well after talking about it for a long time, yes my new and improved online shop really is just about ready. I promise. I hope to launch it in the next two days but am reluctant to say an exact day as there is still work to be done and even when it’s launched, there will be “tweaking” that will be going on. Plus new products are coming in this week and next that are going to be added onto to the shop as they come in.

I ran into a few glitches and didn’t want to put it up before it was fully ready but we are really finally just about there. Plenty of wonderful new blue and whites are are being added and of course the gorgeous new tole and some exiting new pieces, plus a ton of amazing new gorgeous things from one of my all time favorites, Vagabond House,? so lots so really wonderful new things are happening!

Good morning Tina!

I LOVE those chargers (well, I love everything!) and now you have given me some ideas. I really think they would look great with my simple white French plates, and for the holidays, they’d be perfect. Your party must have been fantastic with the mellow weather I hope you’ve been having!

Wishing you a lovely Thursday! Anita

This week has flown by…I need a couple more days to get everything done! It sounds like your week has been a busy one too. The new pink clusters are beautiful…I will be “needing” some of those! So happy your install went well. Enjoy the rest of the week, Tina!!

Hi Tina,
My favorite posts of yours are random musings and of course ANYTHING with pics of your home!!!! Just wanted to share that you put a smile on my face this morning as I viewed the pic of your veggies. The placement of the chubby cucumber on the smallest tier of the tray gave me a chuckle.
Hope you are enjoying this most beautiful day.
Fondly-Lisa

The table set simply using sunflowers and white hydrangeas is stunning. Love it. All of the photos are pretty; I just love looking at them and storing away inspiration for a another day. Have a good one!

I am amazed with everything you do and then you have a vegetable garden too!
I like the idea of adding blue and white dishware and containers for the floral to the outdoor table settings. Lot’s of tea lights in clear glass for sparkle in the evening – gorgeous.
The blue and white Vagabond pieces are stunning.

I am LOVING the wallpaper. Can’t wait to see the finished room. And pictures of the party. I know it will be a wonderful event. I’m with you on the “empty nest.” Our youngest just moved to college 3 weeks ago. The house feels empty. I need to get busy keeping myself busy! Blessings from Missouri!

You must be in the best shape never taking elevators. I should really try that. And I can’t wait to see photos of the installation! I know it’s different from your home, but I’m 100% sure you made it absolutely stunning!

Love the chargers, Tina! Will you post pics of the project you are working on? Can’t wait to see your preparation for your Fall party!! I have a feeling I will be pinning a lot on that post. Sounds like your knee is better. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

Dear Tina,
I know only too well about being an empty-nester. You are correct in being busy is the key. The joy for me was when the holidays and school breaks were over and the long haul was in sight, I would go out to visit them. I would stay on campus going to classes, taking a bunch of their friends out for pizza, etc. But what thrilled my heart was when they saw me they threw their arms around me and realized how important I had been in their lives, something they had understandably taken for granted. It was wonderful! Thanks for sharing your talent-your new friend in CA!

Everything looks wonderful and I just love your tablesettings! The wallpaper is simply stunning, can’t wait to see the finished room!

Love your powder room wallpaper.
Have a bathroom where I want to use a chinoiserie paper.
Will you share with us your selection?

I admire your ability to walk up 22 flight of stairs!!

It’s good you have many projects at this time. Good therapy for empty nest.

Your son’s party looks BEAUTIFUL, so fresh and fun, why not repeat it? Congratulations on your great project, are we going to see after shots? Your garden bounty is wonderful!

Love the sneak peek at the wallpaper-so pretty and with the floor , perfect.I’m looking forward to seeing your new Fall landscaping, plantings, etc. Your son’s party was beautiful and the colors are also great for Fall.
Your home is beautiful.

Hi Tina, everything as always looks SO gorgeous from the table settings to the flowers to the beautiful new things coming in! I want one of everything!

Funny I stopped in at a friends house who just had her house “done” by someone who will rename nameless but who in these parts (Atlanta) is considered to be almost a God. I wasn’t very impressed. This post alone impresses me more than the entire house did haha.

Love the peek of wallpaper, great choice on the black, that was my vote. So dramatic. Good you are keeping busy to get used to being an empty nester. I am so far from being there, and believe me there are days I wish I were!

Hi Tina! Dying over that stunning blue and white place setting….would you share the name of your china pattern?

Everything looks so beautiful, Tina and I just could never have a party any different than your son’s graduation party – it was perfection! In fact, I saved the image because I LOVED the combination of the sunflowers and hydrangeas which I would never have thought to put together. Dying to see images from the New York apartment – know it is amazing?happy Thursday!!

I can’t wait for the little syrup pitcher to go on your website. I love it! Couldn’t find it to purchase this evening.

thanks,
alicia

tina, the blog looks so beautiful! you should feel so proud of what you are creating. i thought of you in arizona at my mom’s house as she has enchantified it completely with blue and white porcelain and so many touches that reminded me of you.

love to you.

Tina-
This is some post! So many beautiful things.
I am glad to red you are busy. It helps when the children go off to college. I build Rome in a day then.
The dinner party sounds wonderful, and you won’t go wrong with either.
You new items are stunning! Looking forward to the new shop.
Happy weekend.

Tina,
I think that wallpaper is the right choice for that particular powder room. It’s somewhat masculine, which is perfect since it’s near your richly designed gorgeous library. Can’t wait to see the finished product.

Wow!! That’s a lot of steps!!! Can’t wait to see photos of the project, Tina. I hope you can share because I know it is fabulous. And how beautiful are those flowers – they all look so real. Have a great weekend. We are finally back in town for a while. Cheers
