Hi there and happy Sunday morning to you, beautiful but hot weekend over here. Scary that it’s already August 2nd! It is official……the “back to school shakedown” has officially begun as has the push for fall clothes, my email box is proof of that!? I say it every summer but boy is it flying……the seasons seem to fly by (well except winter that is).
We went to such a fun party last night in Montauk, the theme was “Jaws” …my friend really knows how to throw a fun shindig and she was blessed with a beautiful summer evening complete with a magical sunset (pictures on bottom). And what were you up to this weekend? Here’s 7 things that have gotten my attention this week……
1. DOLCE AND GABANNA GORGEOUSNESS. I was recently in the store and all I can say is I am so glad I am not a 4 , otherwise I would have had to sell my house to afford all the magnificent frocks I was fainting over…OMG they were all sooo beautiful. The one and only time I was happy to be ” a few sizes up from there”:) But the blue and white beauty stopped me in my tracks, how beautiful are these…..
If I was doing a summery wedding I would all my bridesmaids take their pick of one of these beauties!
2. INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST Oh boy, so? much to love this week.? The beauty and inspiration was off the charts, I had a hard time stopping myself. But there are this weeks “winners” though there were many many more:)
3. A NAPA VALLEY SOIREE,? I PLAN ON GOING TO NEXT YEAR! The annual Festival del Sole looks like so much fun and? I would love to get a few couples together to go or make it a girls trip, and head to Napa!? Friends of ours were at a wedding not far so took a little side trip and attended one of the days (it’s a 10 day event).
Anything that involves beautiful dinners at famous wineries, an opening night? cocktail party at Opus One, Kevin Spacey rocking the house and amazing wine at every meal….all that against the majestic Napa Valley backdrop, I am so there! Click here for more information….see you there next year?
4. ONE COMFORTABLE ESPADRILLE. I have shared before how much I love espadrilles, I own the Chanel pair which I love but they have a snug fit, got these a few weeks ago and they fit so perfectly and are probably them most comfortable espadrille I have worn (and I have tried a lot). These are from Gucci, not crazily priced and soooo comfortable and look really chic on. Click here to find out more……
5. A DESIGNER WHO DOES DORMS. Yes that is a mouthful and yes it is true. Dawn Bishop is a designer who….you heard right, specializes in dorm room decor. I never knew this niche market even existed:) But I must say her rooms are impressive and looked NOTHING like my own kids rooms (of course they are boys so truth be told they really didn’t care lol)…….if your child’s dorm room needs a decorators touch then click here to visit Dawn Thomas to the rescue:)
6. MY GORGEOUS NEW TOLE! I am over the moon about my new chinoiserie tole pieces…exquisite. They are such classic pieces that will stand the test of time and naturally I had to find a few places in my own home for some of these beautiful pieces! 7.? A BEACH PARTY. Last night went to such a fun party at a dear friends, it was a hot steamy summer night (though cooler by the ocean) and this friend never disappoints, her theme was “Jaws” and from the invite to the take home favors of Jaws t shirts and cookies, it was a wonderful well thought out much enjoyed evening:) A few highlights….
You have to have a raw bar….yum!
All the waitstaff were dressed like this….cute!

Even one of the fruit trays carried the Jaws theme over:)
No beach party is complete without a live band who played classic rock and Jimmy Buffet hits….fun!
A few of her family members were? celebrating birthdays this month, so she had this almost too pretty to cut cake made

I swear it takes me an hour to go through you seven on Sunday post. Between all the fabulous Instagram pics (because I then have to go to Instagram and see each person), and then go to Nordstom to get the darling Gucci espadrilles and of course the tole promo…awesome, had to get few of those. Yes it’s a great way to spend a lazy summer morning. And expensive. But thank you as always for all the lovelies.

I made that shark watermelon for my son’d first grade end of the year part (so many years ago now), and I added little lego people cut in half inside it’s belly. I can tell you, I was a “cool mom” for a couple of weeks after that!! Got to know your audience I guess!

I don’t know if I would call a Jaws theme cute. 😉 I was traumatized by the movie – I hate going in the ocean anymore. We were down in Kiawah Island, S.C. when all the shark attacks were happening – it was nerve wracking to watch my boys in the ocean!

Hi Tina! Happy August! Oh my goodness, I am soooo behind in blog world these days. I’m hoping that once fall rolls around, I’ll be able to dive back in. I always love catching up with what’s going on in your world, though, through these lovely Sunday posts! That Jaws party looks like so much fun! How clever! The watermelon is just too much!! And you and I are both fans of that blue and white Dolce collection (no surprise there!). Maybe we can meet up on that Napa weekend next year… wouldn’t that be fun. One of my favorite West Coast spots to travel, headed there in a few weeks.
