Yes we got hit and hit hard by this blizzard. I could not get over the amount of snow as in T W E N T Y? S E V E N inches, that is 27″!!! We have been quite contentedly inside the house and barely moving a? muscle on a serious movie marathon (and me Words with Friends as well)……as this snow storm came even bigger and badder than what was predicted. We are now officially residing in the middle of a winter wonderful? post blizzard 2016 and, I must say it looks beautiful but looking at all this snow makes me almost claustrophobic…a few pictures below (more to come next week)
That WAS my patio furniture before it got swallowed up and that thing in the background…that’s a car:)
Guess we will not be using that door to go out:)
But I am perfectly happy to stay cocooned inside, you can be sure plenty of pictures will be on the way.? Hope whenever you are, that you are safe, warm and snugly:) Let’s get rolling with my Seven on Sunday…..
1? THE POWER OF A BIRKIN Say what you will about this ridiculously (but incredibly beautiful) priced bag, appears its not such a bad buy afterall. Have you seen or read the article which have fashionistas and financiers a buzz about how these have completely defied the odds (and far surpassed any other traditional investments) and to some degree logic…..click here if you want to read about it.
It is pretty remarkable and apparently quite the investment, particularly that it’s all based on supply and demand. Now try finding one and then convincing your significant other you only bought it because its a great investment lol.
2 ONE AMAZING FLORIST! This is most certainly a name I am not going to forget…..they just do the most beautiful work, so appeals to my aesthetic. And it helps that they happen to be based in New York though their talents take them all over the place, sure is understandable! Just feast your eyes on the magnificence of Tantawan, I am completely smitten with their work! Click here to find out more…….
3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST My weekly love fest with Instagram continues and this week I bring you another fabulous batch of beauty and inspiration, just see what I mean……
4 A SALAD BAR THEMED LUNCHEON? I love this idea, I can feed my guests guilt free and come up with a really fun theme. Imagine taking it a step further, and serving the entire salad bar in blue and white……yes yes and yes!
I can see big bowls and platters of different types of lettuce, then smaller bowls holding many different condiments, from proteins like shrimp and chicken to all the toppings, cheeses, olives, vegetables, nuts, etc……I really love this idea and now want to start planning away, maybe a spring luncheon is in the works…….this could be fun:)
5? A FEW OF MY FAVORITE WINTER STAPLES. I am a boots girls, pretty much live in them fall/winter. So wanted to share a few of my picks that are now incidentally on sale, always sweetens the deal! These are my three top picks-
These have seen me through many days this winter and they give a few extra inches while not sacrificing comfort, the wedge makes them very comfy and they look great with everything from jeans to dressier pants, now on sale too! Just got them in a second color:) Click here
Since I love anything with bows, flipped over these rain boots with the laceup detailing and best part, now they are on sale!! Click here
And this super warm coat from Tahari has been one of my staples, great neutral color and pretty styling for as pretty as down coats can be:) Click here
6. We need to take a page out of this? little girls book….aren’t kids always so unbelievably honest and insightful in the most authentic way. She is giving “friendship advice” and tips on how to be a better person to her mother:)? What a smart, darling and? empathetic? little girl….maybe she should talk to some of our politicians:)
7. OUTRAGEOUS COOKIES THAT MAKE ME WANT TO PLAN A PARTY! I am just blown away by the cookie artistry of You Can Call Me Sweetie …I mean seriously these are some of the most beautiful cookies I have ever seen! And good thing that they deliver, next time I have a party I have to order cookies from them, they are amazing and yes, I? am a bit obsessed, click here for their website…..
So there you have my Seven on Sunday…anything strike your fancy? Hope if you were in? the storms path,? hope that you remained warm and safe, and if you are somewhere warm and sunny, then I am a little jealous but enjoy it for all of us! Wishing you a great day and end to your weekend, until next time……

Yikes!!!! You really got hit. We only got about 4 inches but the wind gusts were the worst!! Love your menagerie of gorgeous flowers and mouth watering cookies that are too pretty to eat! Love all your instagram pics especially the one with the 3 babies and the one with the booted yorkie. My #1 drools when she spots a Birkin bag and then repeatedly tells me how many the Kardashians own. Kind of takes the shine off the penny. Stay warm and enjoy your Sunday, dear Tina!
Happy snowy Sunday!! We got hit pretty bad too and certainly were not expecting it. It is nice to have a few days just to chill out (literally). I love all of your SEVEN this week. Stay warm!! xoxo
Hi Tina, This one one of your best Seven on Sunday’s ever. While I am down for the count at the moment (thank goodness for laptops!) I am able to see all of this fun and beauty you bring us. That video is adorable, the little girl is already an old soul. Very exciting news about your new home to be built in Palmetto Bluffs.
What does Teddy think about all of the snow?!
Stay warm and safe….
Hi Tina,
I have just discovered your blog and I love it. You’re getting snow that we usually get in Canada. This year has been very mild and hardly any snow, very weird.
Your Seven on Sunday is amazing. The little girl…..unbelievable. If only everyone thought like she does.
Your head must be exploding with ideas for your new house. I do hope you’ll post the progress, I’d love to see pictures.
Stay warm and safe.
My eyes, my eyes…the flowers, the cookies, the flowers…!!! I saw a robin this morning…”it” certainly must have been “blown here” in the ferocious 50-60 mph winds!! Twenty inches and now the clean up and melting… franki
I find myself really looking forward to your 7 on Sunday. It’s a great way to start my day. While we are on the west coast, my home looks a lot like your’s right now, blanketed in a lot of snow. Love it! That’s why a home in Palmetto Bluff makes a lot of sense for both of us!
Good morning Tina! Those cookies are amazing. The little ballet tutus and baby clothing with the ruffles, that is sweet as can be! And your house, I was thinking of you last night as we were watching the news and I saw your IG photos roll in! I hope that snow does not bust through your French doors!
Be safe and may all be plowed away and get you mobile again! Much love, Anita
How did I know when you mentioned your big news and bringing out your inner ‘southern’ that you were headed to Palmetto Bluff?! I was just there and found it to be the most beautiful, restful and wonderful place of anywhere I have ever been. I went for a week with an artist friend of mine that was teaching a workshop at the conservancy. What a delight for all the senses. We’re both long time south westerners from Santa Fe. To be so charmed by Palmetto Bluff was a real shock to our high desert senses. Can’t wait to follow your new project.
Much success,
Indigo Rhane
What a storm! My son JUST moved to Brooklyn last week and he’s never seen anything near close to this growing up on the West Coast. He will probably be there for about 4-6 months .. we will see how he does!
Love the combination of flowers and gorgeous cookies that would be difficult to eat! There are just way too pretty;)
Stay warm and check you in box for an email from me.
I love your posts on Sunday morning…..especially this week with 30 inches of snow!! The flowers and party pics are making me think of spring! Looking forward to following your new exciting project at Palmetto! Stay warm, Linda
Tina, I feel like I’m buried alive with the 27 inches of snow I also got….it is gorgeous when I look outside…
All of your pics are just beautiful, but those cookies are almost to beautiful to eat π
I am sure after all of that snow you are ready to move somewhere warmer! Congratulations on your new land! Looking forward to seeing what you dream up next!
Hope you had plenty of time to stock your pantry in case you were stranded. I grew up all over the western US and remember having to walk to school in 3 foot drifts (North Dakota). And remember a blizzard in South Dakota that blocked even the windows! In fact, I had just moved there and started second grade. I knew no one. Everyone was whispering, “the Blizzard is coming!” “If you look into it you’ll go blind!” The teachers were in conference about letting us go home. I had visions of an Abominable Snow Man and was terrified. Here, in Seattle, school is cancelled with just 2 inches. Go figure!
My daughter married this summer at The Oasis at Wild Horse Ranch in Tucson. It’s a Dude Ranch where the actors stayed while filming Westerns. The honeymoon suite is where John Wayne stayed. The ceremony was set up along a groomed creek running through the property. Our florist did an incredible job with tropicals and succulents. (The cake was amazing.) I did half high and half low for a fuller floral look for dinner on the lawn surrounding a fountain and light wrapped trees. Unfortunately the wind came up and last minute we had to drop the 24 inch cylinders down to 12 inches. Luckily the bouquets sit in plastic bowls and not much rearrangement had to be done. Turned out the wind died down at dinner but the decision had been made. It still was beautiful and no one knew the difference.
Your pics are beautiful and bring back wonderful memories. Make sure when your sons get married to have back up plans for the unforeseen or for the things you can’t control!
Tina
I am so excited about your new house. I can’t wait to watch it happen via your blog. I have been a loyal follower since you began blogging.
I looked at all the links you provided to Palmetto Bluff. I was thinking that it looks like a wonderful place to vacation. Later that day I opened an email from a dear friend. She invited us to join them there. They have rented a house. We are headed there in 2 weeks. Talk about coincidence!! Can’t wait to get away from this cold Oklahoma weather.
Stay warm. Janet
The snow looks amazing. I live in Queensand in Australia, where it is hot and humid, and we are running the airconditioning every day!All the images you have sent are a feast for the eyes. What beautiful table settings, and extraordinary decoration on the cookies! Thankyou as always
Hi, there! I?m amazed with the decoration of the wedding reception. As a girl it would be wonderful to have that elegant and beautiful wedding reception, right?! It was nice to read posts and look the images on your website.
Those are the prettiest cookies I have ever seen anywhere. Whoever the artist is, keep track of them! Truly exceptional skill.
If you have the money and the exquisite taste, wedding flowers like that are stunning and memorable. And they smell so good too!
But here is what is baffling me. I have worked with well known architects designing two custom homes. There is absolutely no possible way whatsoever that an architect has a complete set of construction documents – a home designed with the floor plan, window and door schedule , roof plan, interior elevations including cabinet drawings, flooring patterns and ceiling plans, structural engineer plans, and landscaping plans for both hardscape and softscape in a three month period.
So unless you are purchasing someone else’s completed plan with very minor modifications, and you did say something like that Tina, it cannot be done.
In twelve months maybe. Not three.
This is the sort of thing that makes people who haven’t done it think custom building is easy.
HGTV has conned a nation into thinking it is quick and costs are reasonable.
It may be gauche to talk about money. However, facts are that you can do what I would wager 90% of your blog readers will never be able to.
It’s wonderful you have the means to do what you want. And the superb taste.
Just please let people know what the reality of the entire building scope you are pursing will be, so that you don’t get someone who doesn’t have what you have thinking they can embark on their own new home with such ease, and end up heartbroken and bankrupt.

The cookies are artistically over the top sensational.
I too loved the triplets in their bunk beds with the older sister keeping watch.
Enjoy the quiet the snow brings, as it will be gone before you know it.
