Hi friends….I had a lot of fun (and needed a lot of time) to pour through the many hundreds of responses to the polls (1100 for the blog poll)? about both my blog and my shop. Your input helps me out so much, you have no idea!

I thought it would be fun in between all the information to waltz down memory lane and share a bunch of pictures of the house building stage that possibly many of you did not see (an apparently many wished they had)…..

DSC_0325

I would have to say 99% of your feedback was incredibly kind, rewarding and validating. About 1% offered constructive criticism which I can take like a big girl and in fact really appreciate.

I said it a few years back and I will say it again I will not and simply cannot be all things to all people. I do what I do because I love it and its a reflection of me,? I am so thankful that so many of you like it and follow along. I recognize my voice/taste/style/take on things will not appeal to everyone.

DSC_1281

Based upon your many many comments and feedback to the 99% that offered such heartwarming compliments and kind words…thank you!

And here is my “rebuttal” to the few constructive criticisms (again all that I appreciate but here are the answers to your questions)-

My blog started strictly? as a blog to chronicle our building journey but over time metamorphosed into many other directions, interior design, fashion, cooking, travel, and eventually a shop which is a very big part of what I do.? Things change and evolve, and my blog/shop is a reflection of many changes (happy ones)? that have occurred these last 3 years.

DSC_0817

And I wouldn’t really have it any other way….I truly love what I do:)

One person said she didn’t know why I had to have a shop and sell things that according to her ” I don’t need the money”. That stumped me…..I have never questioned (not that I put myself on their level of business by any stretch) but questioned someone like a Tory Burch? or Ralph Lauren or any other enterprising individual who has a dream and makes it happen.

In fact to the contrary, it makes me aspire to great things and allows me to dream big.? Now this little shop of mine is in fact my job no longer a hobby, just like many others have a job, this too is mine. It is a vital part of what I do, that is really the best most simplistic way I can explain that. I do my best to integrate my blog and shop.

DSC_1176

To someone who spoke of occasional spelling/grammatical errors, sorry but I am a one person show as far as my blog goes and frankly I do the best I can, and I think you might be hard pressed to find a blog without them on occasion but I do my personal best. I own and accept that I am human and like most make mistakes on occasion, I churn out several posts a week and to say there will be occasional errors at least to me is a given.

DSC_0372 DSC_1784

To someone else who spoke of the? “quality of pictures” again doing my best and often times I think they are pretty darn good:) Newsflash- I don’t have my own photographer (though I sure wish I did)

Often times I am snapping away with my ipad simply because it’s easy, convenient and gets the job done. I never claimed to be a professional photographer. The same person asked for my pictures to be bigger…sorry this is as big as they can get for the size of my blog.

DSC_0342

Two people mentioned the pictures/ text being jumbled, I am sorry that must be frustrating. That will happen on occasion when viewing my blog on an ipad or phone or any kind of mobile device.

Really its best to see the blog/shop on a computer, that will never happen on a computer/laptop however I am looking to make some improvements so that functionality should be improved within the next 6 months or so, so please stay tuned:)

IMG_0495

One or two said there were at times too many pictures but dozens more said more more more pictures….so hopefully I am meeting you both right in the middle:)

DSC_0422 DSC_0363 DSC_0948

Someone else said she loves my blog but not blue and white (imagine)! I hope there are other elements to the blog that you do enjoy, which I assume you do since you implied that and have stuck around….however blue and white is a big part of me too.

It’s not going anywhere, I stay true to what I love and that happens to be a big one and is non negotiable. I guess you can skim over those posts that feature it:) HOWEVER I am looking to expand on the colored pieces of porcelain since I do well with them, so thank you for your input:)

DSC_0360 DSC_0408

DSC_1365

One person asked for me to feature modern interiors….while I respect your input/suggestions, this is just not? what I do.? I occasionally go on the edge with a more transitional feel and while I appreciate a well done modern room, its not really my area of expertise or interest but the good news is there are lots of blogs that feature modern interiors:)

DSC_1149 DSC_0745

Another person said she is going in a different direction from the “prettiness” of my blog and that life is more than beautiful interiors, clothes, good food, etc….

I of course wholeheartedly agree and believe me, my life has plenty of stress (which I do not talk about) but with life’s stresses, I need and in fact crave a tiny little corner where everything IS beautiful and happy and pretty…and that is what my blog is to me.

I hear it from readers quite often that it is that same “little slice of happy” for them too and that makes me feel like I have succeeded with flying colors in what my blog is about.

DSC_1629 IMG_0691 IMG_0495

All that said, friends-? I SO? appreciate and value your input, I will take you up on some of your suggestions, and you will see some of those coming this way soon….so again thank you!

Have to believe you have the confidence to ignore the ugly responses after analyzing them. No one appeals to everyone all the time but for those if us out here in middle America not always having access to an exciting life and beautiful things thank you for keeping us fresh and providing big thoughts and ideas.

Did not participate in the survey but happy for you that it was mostly positive and helpful. I just want to add that making excuses for grammatical and spelling errors rather than eliminating the problem I felt was a disappointing answer. Spelling errors just send a bad message of carelessness or uncaring and IMHO is just not acceptable. And it is such an easy thing to fix.

That being said, congrats on the successful blog and shop (from which I have happily purchased). Little secret, I am not a lover of blue anything…sorry. :{ but still enjoy your blog and appreciate the design of your beautiful home.

Oh dear Tina, I hope you’re not overly concerned about the “complainers”, they sound like a very sad, jealous lot, trying to take you down a notch. I didn’t add my two cents, but here it is: BRAVO!! Your blog is fantastic, I’ve been following for years. Your taste is sublime and the natural transition of adding your shop is obvious and perfect. I know “constructive” criticism can sometimes sting. Don’t let it! Come to Portland, OR and redo my master bath. That would be my DREAM! xo

I fell in love with you and your site at first click. I especially love your warm and friendly writing style. There is nothing pretentious or elitist about your website. I must say as one of your readers I feel blessed that you would open yourself and your home to all of us.

You wow me with every Blog ! To which I must say I could read twice a day and would not be enough.

I cannot believe the negative comments. Love your blog and if people don’t like it, don’t read it!We all have choices! Keep it coming. It is a very beautiful and fun blog. Thanks for starting my day with beauty.

Tina, any negative comments of ANY kind, were driven by complete jealousy!!! You home is fabulous, your blog is fabulous and yes, all I want is more and more of it all. I have no idea how you do all that you do and keep up the blog. There are some people that sill never be happy for others….take it with a grain of salt!!! Thanks for always making my day with all you have to share!!! Linda

Hey Tina

Keep up the good work! I also work and have stresses, so your blog is my “joy”
My motto for – if. It makes you smile then it is your style.

Thank you for caring enough to take a poll to see what our likes and dislikes are. For me, you are an inspiration to make my home lovely, and enjoy each moment.

I think your blog is amazing. As you said, you can’t be all things to all people . . . and you don’t have to be. Just keep doing what you’re doing. I think the vast majority of your readers are just like me . . . anxious to see more and more of your home, more of your new building project, more recipes, more entertaining tips, more of you. I’m excited to see what’s next for The Enchanted Home!!!!

Do not let the negative comments of jealous, petty people get you down. Love your blog and always smile when I get notification of a new one. Keep up the good work and thank you for allowing us along for the journey.

Have a wonderful Valentine’s weekend.

Jan

Love your blog and look forward to reading it everyday. You are right , you will not please everyone all the time. You are doing a fabulous job. Keep up the good work and I know it is work . Once again Thank you. Maude Ciardi

Tina,

I enjoyed looking back at the beginning of your construction journey – thanks for posting those pictures! I love your blog – and I am especially drawn to it because it is so beautiful, elegant, and indulgent. Life is hard – having a special place to go each week where I can fantasize about a new place to visit or drool over a stunning piece of blue and white gives me tremendous pleasure!

And frankly – I couldn’t care less if you misspell a word. The best part of your blog is how authentic and real you come across. I have said it before – I feel like I know you and that is part of your charm! I love how you open your home and your life to your readers.

I look forward to reading what you have going on each week. Keep up the good work. I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us in the coming weeks, months!!

Best,
Carol

I found the reviews and answers enlightening… I happen to love the blog and have only been following for a little over a month.
I have purchased twice and look forward to new items in the future as well as questions and interesting answers.
Can’t wait for the upcoming home pictures and decorations. We have a lot at PB and hope to get fresh ideas to borrow for our future home.
Keep it up with your wonderful blog, would love to have one posted everyday!

I missed this poll…but you are courageous. I fear I have typos all the time on my blog…I like it when someone tells me so I can at least go back and correct them.

I love coming here for a little rest surrounded by loveliness.

Please don’t change a thing, sweet Tina. Everything is just right. I especially love the iphone casual photos which are always the best instantly caught moments and that would never happen waiting for a professional photo shoot. Not to mention you can catch Teddy doing the cutest things! Teddy is my favorite co-star… (((hugs))) and pats to Teddy! P.S. I got my tray yesterday, thank you! It looks great on my dining room table under the centerpiece arrangement, giving it some extra panache.

Tina,

I am so happy and thrilled for you that you got such great feed back. I think you do a wonderful job and look forward ( every morning ) to find out what is new and exciting on your site.
I disagree 100% with the not so positive comments you described. You definitely give me inspiration and wonderful ideas for my own home, not to mention how I just love your selections and taste. They parallel to my ideas and dreams.
So my dear, continue to do what you do and thank you so much for your suggestions and all the time it must take you to make such a helpful, fun site.
Continue your wonderful work and I look forward to more sensational pictures, shopping, garden ideas and the many more things which inspire you.
Barbara

Wow…what a bunch of critics! Why on earth do they follow you if it so offensive to them??? Your photos are beautiful, love your commentary (typos included), blue and white forever, and your home is lovely beyond words. The person who said you have enough and don’t need a store…obviously a budding Socialist!

Your home is a beautiful reflection of you?! It is a luxury life many of us dream of and thank you for taking us regularly on a dream journey! I admire your vision and hope one day to follow it through just like you! You are awe inspiring!

wow. The nastys are everywhere. I think you do a great (Great!) job, and if I didn’t want to look at your blog, gee, I guess I wouldn’t have to! My aesthetic is aligned completely with yours and I would love to incorporate your flair and style everywhere into my house. I LOVE this latest blog with the in progress photos – what an amazing job. Best to you with all your adventures!

I think your blog is absolutely fabulous! I look forward to reading every time you post. Anyone that criticizes you is just plain jealous. If someone doesn’t like the blog, then stop reading it! Also, who elected the grammar police to come after you? We all make typos and mistakes once in a while. It is especially easy to do on iPhones and iPads.
Please continue to do what you do with the blog. I love it, as do thousands of others.

Keep up the good work and follow your bliss. Never make excuses for your success or what you do in life! Wonderful photos of the building of your home. It is truly a source of joy, which shows in your blog and what you do. You do not take your successes and life for granted and that is key in life and happiness.

Thank you for your blog and don’t change a thing! You have been a great inspiration and resource for decorating the home we bought last year and will continue to be so. I look forward to see all the new ideas I will gather from the new house project!

The reason I wouldn’t miss your blog is the beauty, positivity, knowledge and humaness you present (ok, so obviously my love of blue and white). I love many photos to get different views. I see this as a helpful and beautiful blog. The humanness in presentation and personal sharing brings us closer. I can’t imagine the time it takes to put out the blog and everything else you do. Visual treats and dreams for everyone reading. Knit-pickers might not have anything better to do..

Well said!
Facts, statistics are reality……..reflecting a cross section of Americana.

I’m on board for your next chapter!

Hugs, Donna

Tina, I love that you are willing to do the blog and I feel like I’m having a conversation with a “friend”. I always learn from your pictures and comments. You are really so kind to be so open and you usually say exactly what I’m thinking!!
Love getting to see the beautiful things in your store. I’m pretty sure you don’t “need” to have a store but really trust that what you bring to us is going to be of fine quality and so appreciative of being exposed to such lovely things (with ideas how to use them). I think the Q and A addition to your blog would be so fun.
If someone comes away with just one idea from your blog on how to make their home more beautiful and a refuge for their family to come home to, I call that a winner!! It may not be as grand but I think making your home beautiful is like presentation of food, it’s eye candy to make everyone feel better in their home. Thank you!!!

Dear Tina,
Thank you for your blog which I came upon being a lover of all things blue, antiques, and exquisite d?cor.
Frankly if I did not know any better everything you post or mentioned is a carbon copy of my taste and wishes.
Please continue to inspire us to greatness and all things beautiful and I would rather go to your posts then watch these “house wife shows” which contribute nothing to my brain.
I have been a student of interior design and decorating and my first mentor was Lynette Jennings and over the years I have self thought my self and learned that great taste and passion in that field is an acquired talent not given to all.
Thank you again…
Until your next post….
Marie P.

To the killjoys out there: if you don’t like Tina’s spelling, photos, blue & white or her elegant aesthetic, DON’T READ THE BLOG. Personally, my eyes light up when I see a post from The Enchanted Home in my Inbox. Thanks Tina!

I think sometimes people who post forget that there is a real person behind the site address. I love your blog. I hardly comment. Several years ago I decided to cut back on blog reading and hence only visit a few. Yours stayed on the list. I love that you’ve turned your hobby/shop into a business. How wonderful to be able to have your avocation be your vocation.

OMG Tina …Tell the folks who are complaining to just go somewhere else….geesh you do not charge a penny for your advice and they need to get a life…. nobody forces them to open your site and read do they ???
All I can say is PERFECT KEEP IT COMING !!!!!!!

LOVE LOVE The Blue and White and Yes I would like to see other rooms in your house as well ….also some sample menus you use when you are having dinner parties
Thx GF…. muah …….
Karen

Stay true to yourself! It’s the only way you will continue to be authentic! Wow! Thanks sharing old photos of the building of your beautiful fantasy of a home-did you mention that part of it was an old house at one time? Can’t wait for the PB posts!!!

Thank you so much for sharing the pictures of the process in building your home! You made me feel like I was part of the process and I love the finished product of your beautiful home.
Looking forward to the pictures of the process of your future home.
If you do decide to publish articles in the future can you please let us know…
Thank you and thank you too for your blog. Your inspirations have been amazing!

Love what you are doing. I have many items from your shop and it has helped me decorate my home with style. I am waiting for a promo on your Imari and or colored porcelain pieces…..on my wish list for The Imari bowl.

I love your blog! The blue & white pictures inspired me to get what little I had out of storage & display it, and also to start looking for more to add to my collection! I always enjoy seeing another post of yours in my inbox! Please keep them coming!

I do not purchase from your store because I do not use pay pal. Given that most of your followers are between 50-60 years of age, there are probably others who would prefer another form of payment.

Sigh, I used to be a grammar nut. Especially where adjectives and adverbs were concerned. That was until I began studying a language that does not distinguish the two at all (Turkish). Anyone who reads classics, especially Shakespeare, will know that spelling was completely wild not so long ago. People simply spelled the way they felt the word sounded.

One person can only do so much. Spelling is really really not a big deal. 🙂

Thank you for sharing your lovely home and exquisite ideas and items with us. It brings a bit of lovely to my day.

Hi Tina I agree with previous posts – jealousy is a terrible thing! I have never noticed a spelling mistake. I have had the wrong photos on comments on Seven on Sunday- but now I know it’s my I Pad. I love the Instagram photos you find- I even show my 23 year old daughter. Your photos in the snow were beautiful. We escaped your big snow storm here in this part of England. Have a lovely weekend.

Tina, I hope the love from the previous comments help you know that I ditto their thoughts and look forward to a few minutes of “me” time to read your blog.

Thank you for sharing your home–I would be so honored to meet you some day –

BRAVO, BRAVO !!! You addressed the “bad, unsavory” comments, perfectly! Way to go!
I do really enjoy your blog, love your photos and your blog content. Spelling mistakes, grammar issues, phish phish.
Thank you for sharing your home, and your life in blog land.

I love reading your blog and have many wonderful things in my home from your shop. Until I started reading your blog (from the beginning) I never really understood the beauty of blue/white. Now it is a staple throughout my homes. The comment on why you have your shop when you don’t need the money is one of the silliest things I’ve heard in a long time. Following your dreams and having a passion to grow is irrelevant on whether you need the money or not. PS – Looking forward to what new things you have in store for your Shop!

Why do people think a business owner’s sole purpose is to make money? Yes, it is an important part of a business BUT the other side of that it to provide your client with goods or services they want and need. Many people think that if you own a business then you must be wealthy. Many business owners are satisfied to cover expenses and pocket a little to pay themselves too. Running a business is a challenge no matter how much resource one has and I completely understand your joy in it. It is at once an art and a science and I commend you on the products you offer your fan base. Unique, strong point of view and affordable. Ok I’m off my business owner soap box now….

Tina, Why is it that so many people feel compelled to feel the need to correct others? Are they so perfect like Diane who has never made a spelling mistake? I like so many others love your posts, your home, your blog, Teddy and you. You are such a talented woman and don’t change a thing. Judy

Not everyone has such a stunning home or stunning taste, so having you allow us access is lovely. As for the “you don’t need the money” comment, that’s ignoring the obvious….that you have a passion and need to share with other people, which you do very nicely and has nothing to do with money. Your enjoyment shows!!

YOU GO GIRL!!!

It’s your site, your blog, your life, thoughts, style and you’re very generous and extremely committed to share so much so often with us! BLUE AND WHITE rule!!

I will be turning my life upside down in 2016..clearing out and beginning again in new homes… I can’t wait until it’s time to buy from your shop!

You have a lovely and beautiful blog! I read it because of the gorgeous pictures you provide us, it is fun to read and makes me happy. And thankful, as the world can not always be a happy and safe place and your blog brings lightness and a place to escape and smile. I also look at my B & W that I purchased from your shop and had I never found your blog, I would never have had this beauty of B & W in my home! So thanks for all you do and have brought us!

I love the dialog you have with your readers.. and am not at all surprised by how well The enchanted home survey results turned out. The inspiration and the authenticity are definitely what attracts me here to break up my work day!! thank you for that .

Hi Tina,
Why is it that people always find the need to emphasize the negatives? I adore your posts and pictures! Your posts are so inspiring. I truly don’t understand why someone would ask you for modern interiors, do they follow the blog? I say ignore the haters and let it go. My Dad always used to say, “You can please some of the people some of the time, other people at other times, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”
As for the grammar, spelling, and punctuation police, no one is perfect, not even you.

Unbelievable that someone said you shouldn’t be in business because you don’t need the money! In the first place it’s none of their business, and in the second place they fail to consider the work you provide for others…..the vendors, the warehouse workers, and the rent you pay for your warehouse, and on and on! It’s businesses like yours that make the whole system work!! You work hard and deserve to be compensated for your efforts (and the risks you take in, buying the inventory, etc.). Don’t pay any attention to negative comments like those! Keep on doing what you are doing! You deserve good things for your hard work! Too bad more people aren’t willing to work as hard as you do!

I am a fairly new (6 months) reader and purchaser! I love everything about this site! The photos are amazing! After viewing this post with home construction photos, I had to tell you that each picture just oozes the care, detail and quality as well as the love you have included in your construction! Beautiful craftsmanship.

Thank you for the wonderful blog. I truly look forward to seeing “The Enchanted Home” in my inbox. It’s like that wonderful perfect piece of chocolate that is saved to be savored at the end of the day. Thank you as well for the photos of your beautiful home under construction. As a late comer to your blog these were new to me and I enjoyed the journey. Keep up the good work!

Your blog is absolutely beautiful! I am happy to know I was in the majority of those who participated. See, you do a great job! Keep it up! We love it!!!
Sherry

Dear Tina, I guess you can tell from the comments above that you have a lovely group of fans! Simply cannot believe the negative comments. Why do they even look at your blog if they don’t care for blue and white and want modern??!! Your blog is so well done. I look forward and enjoy every post and always come away with a few tidbits. Your pics are great and grammar pretty darn good! Give me a break.
Cheers,
susan

Thank you for taking the time to share results with us. Now I know why some items are woefully out of sync or not there at all – another fault of reading from my iPad! (Didn’t make any sense that someone with such attention to detail could let this go.)

Remember Tina….

YOU could be the ripest juciest peach in the basket and there will always be SOMEONE who hates peaches!

I love your blog. I wanna be besties! I will admit, I get the green-eyed envy bug here and there. Your life doesn’t seem to be as “ordinary” as perhaps some of your readers.
Like ME!
Keep going?

Love your blog and really enjoy seeing your home and how you built it. Your home is beautiful and I am sure it took a lot of planning and dreaming. Big fan of all the blue and white pieces too. I collect and use mine in the kitchen lighted cabinets. – I also love the variety of your blog. You do an excellent job in keeping one interested. Thank you.

Keep up the good work, please!! I do love this little corner of prettiness and happiness! Look forward to all your posts!
Julie L, GA

When I completed your survey, I voted 3-4x weekly for your blog . I have changed my vote …
Joy and beauty come my way each time I open your email , so …
I would love hearing from you 5-7 x weekly !
Keep your shop open forever so I can continue to purchase unique, elegant items. I look forward to your new offerings and will buy !!!
Last week , I visited a “high end” consignment shop . I found gorgeous blue and white bowls . I thought to myself … Tina would love these ! So… the bowls are happy in their new home !
You always inspire me with your creativity and class .
P.S. I have my eye on the larger blue and white bowls in your shop … soon …

Thank you for sharing photos of your home under construction. I love love love everything about your posts (and did share that with you on the survey). It never ceases to amaze how crass and mean spirited some people can be. You are far more gracious than I would have been in responding to them. Years ago on Oprah she said when people show you who they are, believe them. Your blog is a BIG slice of happy in my life and thank you for it!!!

Opening your blog is like opening a letter from a friend.
You have shared the passing of your beloved mother in law, your friends’ tragic loss of her son and your son leaving for college…life events that people can relate too yet come away with a sense of beauty and grace. Your blog expresses your sensitivity and generosity as a loving wife, mother, friend and gifted decorator.
Thank you for your humor and humanity. Your blog is a gift!

I love your blog and ran out of time to take your survey (I did participate in the prior one though). I don’t decorate with blue & white, but I do enjoy seeing your pictures and others who do. It just doesn’t go with the style and colors in my home. That said, I have ordered numerous things from your shop such as silver, topiaries, dough bowl, vase, and a planter, all of which I’ve been happy with. I love your tall glass candle hurricanes. Trying to decide how they would look on my dining room table. Please continue to add more to your shop as I love daydreaming of what my next purchase may be.

If I were in your place I would block those people with the most offensive comments from looking at your blog. You are a very kind person and are an inspiration to us. Keep up the excellent work. Your home is lovely and you have put in a lot of hard work to make it that way!……Rebecca

Tina
I adore your blog and look forward to it every day, without question. It’s the first one I go to along with Splenderosa. Do not take any of the negative comments to heart, people always think they need to say something negative. If they don’t like it, they can “disconnect”. Your blog is refreshing, beautiful and sensitive. You love your home and your family, and it shows with your blog. You share something of yourself and everyone should admire you for it. I do not comment to blogs that I follow for the most part, but this one I couldn’t pass up. Keep it coming…love it!

Tina?Celebrate and congratulate yourself for the 99% positive comments? That is quite a feat and an accomplishment for any survey to have! You do provide a slice of happy beautiful life for all of us as well as being a continued inspiration. I feel so fortunate to have found you and your blog as early as I did! Your blog is my favorite and one I look forward to reading whenever I see it in my inbox. I was one that could happily read it every day! Yes, stay true to yourself and what you love? The negative comments?.occasional spelling errors (who doesn’t have these?), picture quality, having your shop within your blog are all not even important enough to mention! You have a passion! Keep it up! We love it and benefit greatly!

Tina, you can never please all the people! Working with the public is an interesting adventure. You choose to share your fabulous home, adventures, many interests, home styling ideas, and lovely items in your online shop. Those who do not enjoy your site can choose to not participate! You just keep posting and allowing those who enjoy your views into a happy place. We all need a happy spot to get lost in.

Your blog is so wonderful. I started buying blue and white more than 30 years ago. Now I am trying to style it right with the help of your pictures. Love everything is you do. So does my 30 year old daughter. Who knew she would all of a sudden love the blue and white as I do. Such fun. Thanks for everything

PS. I meant to add to my comment that you are a very very gifted decorator with exquisite taste and style, and we benefit greatly! Lucky us!

Hi Tina,

If I had a dollar for every one of my typing errors, I would be rich. Your blog is a wonderful escape for me. I LOVE blue and white, and I love to see your home. I am looking forward to the development of your new holiday home. I read ALL of your blogs. I am a very Southern, living in Australia!

As always, you took the negative comments and handled them with style and grace. I would have expected nothing less from you! The comment about typos made me laugh! I’d say if a few typos every now and then was your biggest problem, then you are definitely doing something right! I love your blog and loved it before I won one of your contests! Thank you for what you do!

Hello Tina,
Keep up the excellent work, love reading your blog, love your house and LOVE blue and white! Your photos are perfect.
For those with negative thoughts – SIMPLE “do not read”, and go elsewhere for modern interiors. Like you, I do not do modern!
As for the English and grammar critics! Get a life!
I am from Australia so my spelling is a little different to yours anyway, but who cares. Love you, Lillian xx

Tina, I do not often post comments but had to after reading a recap of your survey responses! Yes, there are many blogs out there, but yours is one of very few that I follow! Why? Because I love blue & white, you have exquisite taste & your blog is a wonderful “escape” for me after a busy day at the office. I had to laugh after reading the comments about your spelling/grammar errors. Even novels who have editors pouring over the content often contain errors – does that affect how much you enjoy the book? Remember the saying, “You can’t please ALL the people all the time, but you can please SOME of the people some of the time?” Well, obviously you ARE pleasing lots of us out there so keep on doing what you do so beautifully!

I am a firm believer that with age comes experience and wisdom gained through life’s lessons. It is not your responsibilty to be everything to everyone. I agree that first and foremost you must be true to yourself. You strike me as being a very compassionate talented person. I love reading your blog and enjoy the vast interests you have. I give you credit for acknowledging the criticism. It helps to keep us grounded but know that the majority love and support what you do. Looking forward to your future blogs etc..

Those pictures are exquisite! I could actually smell the sawdust and the spackle and paint. I could hear the echo through the rooms as the house came together and the crunch of gravel under my feet when walking outside. Incredible! I love your blog. It’s such a wonderful place to hang out and dream and be happy. I’m impressed that you had a survey because there are always flies in the ointment and I wouldn’t want to hear the negative. I’m impressed that you did that! You follow your heart and that’s what matters. And we follow you. Stay warm and happy!

Petty, jealous people always amaze me. You owe no one an explanation. You love what you do and you do it well. Not to worry about them. They probably sit at home In their PJ’s and watch the shopping channels. Enough of us enjoy your blog. Keep up the good work. Women supporting women. We are amazing.

People are amazing. I guess this is the new world. You have an amazing blog. It must take a great deal of time. Everything on it may not appeal to everyone.
It is your blog, so stick to “your guns”. I always find information I like. You have a lot of energy and are very honest and open with your readers. So refreshing. Keep up the good work. You are appreciated. ? AFN

Tina, Your blog is my favorite. I read every post. I don’t quite get ( or do I ) the juxtaposition of your response to negative input ( I think you asked for honest opinions) and the photos of the construction your beautiful home – one that most of us will only dream of. I felt that it was a “take that”response to your critics. Am I wrong? I know you have more class than that.

I am not really a computer person so it was pure chance that I stumbled onto your blog right at the onset, but I feel very lucky because it has been a daily part of my life. I also happen to love anything blue and white; would you believe I got my first ginger jar when my mother’s decorator decorated my freshman dorm room in high school?

I am trained as a clinical social worker and work part-time on an inpatient psych unit in inner city New Haven and part-time in a private therapy practice so I think I can say with credibility that I know life is not just about “pretty” things, but believe me your blog is very important to me. I spend a lot of time in creative endeavors because it’s essential in helping to prevent burn out and viewing and reading your blog is very therapeutic.

I also love how your blog has grown, you highlight so many other blogs/instagrams that I would never have found on my own; from cookies and cakes, and beautiful clothes to the recent iphone covers.

I feel bad that you were the recipient of these “criticisms” and that you had to address them. I hope you don’t change your blog and I hope you still plan on sharing your new vacation home. I look forward to continued viewing and reading, take care.

Tina! I totally missed the survey but have read the results. I missed the construction of your BEAUTIFUL home so I thank you for the photographs you included with this post. I love your blog with the variety of postings and eagerly await the design and construction of your away home! I am a happy, fulfilled and admiring fan…..don’t change a thing! ren

Tina,

I read the results of your survey and I am ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS on your behalf.

For those who offered ?constructive criticism? , as you SO graciously put it, if they don?t like The Enchanted Home, nobody is holding a gun to their heads to make them read it. I love it and read every single post.

As far as your shop, and you ?not needing the money?, that is none of their damn business!!!! Having purchased items from your shop that I have never seen anywhere else, I am glad you have a shop and they can just go away. (If you husband doesn?t mind, why should they?)

And correcting your spelling? Why would you do that?

Some people were raised by wolves.

Don?t take any of it to heart. As the say down here, ?God is great, Beer is good, and people are crazy!?

I will be on the north shore of Long Island this week for a conference and, as I did on my trip in September, I will be scanning the driveways along the Hempstead Turnpike in case you are there!

Happy Valentine?s Day and stay warm.

A.

I follow blogs because I like the topic, the place where it originates, style and attitude. Tina, it’s your choice what to write, how to write it and where you want the blog to go. It’s YOURS. Those who choose to follow should remember that. They don’t like it, they shouldn’t criticize. They should find someone else to follow.

I love what you’re doing. You’re talented, and you exhibit a delight in what you write. I can almost hear the excitement in your voice when you write about things you enjoy. I love that.

Don’t fret about those who criticize: they’re jealous. Simple as that.

Keep on truckin’! (boy, am I dating myself! lol) But it’s a good sentiment..

Bravo to you, dear Tina, for eloquently answering the haters of the world. If they don’t like it, they can turn the page! I loved seeing the “throw back” pictures of your home under construction and can’t wait to see the progress on Palmetto Bluff!! Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day and STAY WARM! xoxo

What the heck? I can’t believe you got some of those snarky comments and validated them by addressing them. I have been with your blog since the start and like the fact it has evolved as your house and life has evolved. Now that you are doing e design I would like to see more projects and client homes if they are willing to share. I have bought many things from your shop and think its great you have it and also post pictures of customer purchases in their homes. I have ended up buying something and copying the idea. That was so rude to say you don’t need money. Quite frankly I read blogs to get ideas and educated and whether you misspell something or grammar is not perfect or pictures are not perfect makes it all the more charming, its your time and its free to me.

Holy Guacamole, you got a lot of comments. Just shows you how loved you are in the blogging community, dear Tina. I’ve gotten my share of “constructive” comments. After writing a RH post and warning people of the content, one nice lady left me a comment on my FB page saying that it was my WORST post ever and A TOTAL WASTE OF HER TIME. I didn’t mind because she left her name. I wrote her a note and we are friends again, I hope. I don’t pay attention to negative comments from “Anonymous” though. Stay warm!!!!

Tina, I find it unbelievable that anyone would complain about your blog. You are my happy place. I go straight to your email each and every time I see The Enchanted Home. Please do not take any of the negatives to heart. You have a magnificent home and your talent to decorate may bring out the jealous ninnies who wish they were you, and hate you for what you have created. I love your blog, your house and your talent. Must most of all I love that you are willing to share your world with all of us. Your world is something a lot of people can only dream of. But your sharing that world takes us all along. I love your shop. I have bought many things from you. I love the blue and porcelains and most everything you offer in your shop. Keep up the great work and again, thanks for taking us along with you.

First, let me say, do not change a thing. You have an intriguing, gorgeous blog!

Now, for the survey… I question that everyone understands the reason for them. Jealous, complaining, haters? No. When you ask for a survey, you have given your readers some power. You’re asking them for their honest opinion. They think they’re helping you improve. Instead, it sounds like you took it personal. (And some of your readers did too). Based on your numbers, you’ve done a phenomenal job with it. Most large businesses would drool at those numbers. It’s excellent that you understand your market and you limit your business to what you do well. And it’s excellent that you’ve used the survey to uncover new marketing opportunities.

For surveys in general, I hate them! Personally I could never subject myself to them. “Take me or leave me”, I say. And from a corporate viewpoint, I know that as a consumer, if there is even one negative, it is a “ding” to the group that survey was about, (even though the rest was 99% positive). Even a consumer ignoring completing a survey can be a negative to that group. That is an abuse of the use of surveys to it’s employees. As a result, I never complete surveys that are less than 100% if the business attempts to do a good job (even if they could use improvement).

As for spelling and grammatical errors, in this day and age of autocorrect, even our devices get it wrong. Don’t worry about it. It’s a blog! I’d rather you spend your time being creative and bringing new ideas to us than spending hours rephrasing and spell checking the text. The words you choose exude your personality. Don’t change anything!

Tina, thank you for this post with all of the pics that I missed as I had not found you until you had been blogging for over a year. I am so glad to know that you received so much positive feedback. To the very rude naysayers, you should find a blog that interests you, if one exists! We love you Tina, through your posts, so keep doing what you are doing:-)

Sweet Tina,
I hit a button and didn’t get to finish my survey but I just wanted to add my comments. I have followed your blog from the beginning… the very beginning. I don’t know how I found it but I am so glad I did. I have followed your progress as a blogger and I stand amazed at all you do. Wife, mother, friend, hostess, traveller, interior decorator doesn’t even begin to describe you. I have ordered from your website and it always arrives quickly and beautifully wrapped. I love everything I’ve ordered. I have often wondered if you are doing this all yourself or if you have help. Either way, I know it’s a huge job you have taken on. Your love of life and what you are doing is evident in everything you touch. I’m not sure if I could start Sundays without Seven on Sunday. It’s become my favorite way to start my week. Thank you for it all – the blog, the pictures, sharing your life, the shop and just being YOU. It’s a joy to watch from this side of the computer.

Just love, love your blog! (My favourite!) …..and so looking forward to following the creation of your PB home.

Hello Tina!

It’s your evening there, and according to my daughter (who lives in the city) it is downright COLD ! My suggestion is to curl up by the fire with a nice winter drink, or if you are so inclined, take a stroll (a fast one) around your house to get some fresh air, then come in for a hot toddy!

Second, keep on doing what you’re doing. You have a talent that is refreshing, new, and the courage to dive right in, learning along the way. I enjoy waking up and reading your blog. So, give the nay-sayers a smile and forge ahead!

Enjoy the beauty and quiet of the snow, as this too will pass and remember, spring is right around the corner…

Have a fabulous Valentine’s Day!

Cathy R

You go, Girl! We tell students to write what they know….you are following instructions. I love your honesty, and the way you share. Stay true to your blog and your style….it’s a life well-lived!?

Hi, Tina!
I admire you for being interested in your reader’s opinions and that you want to know what items we’d like to see you carry in your shop and show in your blog. It is very evident to me that you are doing this, (blogging and selling items you love), because you like to do it. I can see the joy you get from showing us the things you are passionate about. I for one just love to see how your gorgeous home was built, and how magnificently you have decorated it. I appreciate that you let us in on your decorating talents and creativity. You also sell us many of the beautiful items that you yourself love and buy for your home and clients. I love that! I follow your blog because I love everything about it! Thank you, Tina for sharing your Joy, Passion and Excitement in creating and decorating beautiful homes, and for offering items to us that you yourself have in your home and in your shop. What you do is hard work, but I can tell that you do not think of it as such, because you get so much fulfillment from it. I only wish I had a smidgen of your pep and energy and your talents. I am so happy that I found your beautiful blog. I wish that I could meet you one day and give you a big hug!
Happy Valentine’s Day, Tina!
Laura

Tina, I am embarrassed for anyone who would feel the need to be anything but grateful for the information you have shared on your blog. As an educator, finances have many times, been a driving force for my home decor decisions. Your graciousness to share raw photos, design choices and your thinking in doing so has been so beneficial to me. I have a beautiful home and am proud of what I have been able to do. Many times, many times, I have been able to use your photos to prompt certain design choices in my home. I know I am not alone when I say thank you for your blog, your generosity in sharing your thought processes and design choices. All the best from central Florida…..

Tina, I am a newbie to your blog but quickly became a devoted fan and follower. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home and design ideas. Trying to decide what I like best is impossible. Just keep posting all the pictures and doing exactly as you have been doing. I am constantly checking for what is new. I am appalled at the pettiness of a few people and their negative comments. Here in the deep South we would say, “Bless her heart”, and the rest would be far from a blessing.

Tina, as always a gracious rebuttal to the critics. I agree with you, at the the end of the day the blog is yours, write what you like! If people want to read it they will if not they will leave. I along with many others will still be here! Thanks for sharing your beauty with us!

Im new to your Blog and find it not only amazing, but refreshing. I recently purchased a blue and white vase. Some things were wrong with it and you made it right. With that said, it speaks volumes on your business style and you as a business person who loves what she does. I wish we could all say that about what we do. I can say that I love your passion and honest words you use in your blog. Those that choose to stop by and read your blog should share in your vision not their own. Those that don’t should move on to something else. Thank you for loving what we love and sharing it with us!
