6 MY TRICK TO KEEPING FLOWERS LASTING EVEN LONGER! So I love fresh flowers as many of you already know, and have a hard time saying goodbye to them. So that is where my amazing faux flowers come into play. i will pull any dead flowers and replace with tulips, hyacinths, whatever is on hand. And you know what? They could fool just about anyone!!
7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY Vitamins, wondering if you take them? I just had a physical and thank the lord I came out with clean bill of health, feel very blessed! I have always counted on being in good health as being enough so have never taken vitamins.
One thing my results did say was that I am low in Vitamin D so promptly went and bought a bottle. Choosing a vitamin is overwhelming…..way too many choices! I know many do take an assortment of vitamins, and a multi and thinking I need to start doing the same. I mean I am sure everyone could use a daily dose of calcium as we get older right?

And that is a wrap! Hope you enjoyed the post. Wishing everyone a wonderful and relaxing weekend, and hoping its not too hot. I hear them talking about possible power outages this summer, which made me weak at the knees. I literally wilt without AC! Until next time……

Hi Tina. Lovely post, as always. On the subject of vitamins, most adults are prone to low Vitamin D so taking a daily supplement is important. Get a bit of sun each day, as well. When taking vitamin D, it must be D3 and you must take K2 along with the D3. The K2 helps your body to deliver the D throughout your system. Very important. Doing this will strengthen your immune system. I also take B1 and B12, vitamin C and Omega 3 before bed. D and K are fat soluble, so eat after eggs, cheese, avocado, butter etc. All others are water soluble so can be taken any time during your day. Omega 3 is best right before bed. Cheers to your health!
Have been taking vitamin D and Zinc since the beginning of the pandemic. Both my husband and I, both vaccinated, did get the omnicron but very mild. Our son 31, also vaccinated, but has not been taking the vitamins, was much sicker. I highly recommend taking vitaminD and zinc for immuno protection.
I am blessed with good health too…(and I love your vegetarian dishes! ). My doctor wrote a Vitamin D prescription that I take once a week…Never had a broken bone!
Hi Tina,
For the best results, your physician should be the one to determine the appropriate dose for you based on your blood work. Ditto for any Calcium intake. Both can cause adverse reactions and other health consequences if not taken in the correct dose and monitored with occ. blood work going forward.
Additionally, K = potassium, Ca= calcium. One does not want to make any additions/reduction/or other changes to either absent direct medical supervision and advise.
Vitamin D-3 is the number one vitamin that prevents COVID, most conventional doctors won’t tell you this. And not all brands are alike, invest in a good 5,000mg d3. Xymogen is probably the best!!
Here is some info on the vitamin thing…I have several friends that have been told that they are taking too many vitamins by their doctor. So I don’t think more is better. One of these women was having really bad reflux and was told to cut back on all her vitamins. Oh…what to do?
Vitamin D is so important! I believe when sun screen became big all of our levels went down. Sun screen stops absorption of vitamin D from the sun. It has been extremely important during Covid to keep your D levels good. So take D. During this time zinc has been important too. But we do not take it every day. But when we went back to travel made sure we had it with us . Take it more often then. Want to keep annuity up,
I am so excited that I have found your blog. I was actually reading an article in Southern Home and it had pictures of your PB home. Bluffton, is such a wonderful place. My daughter has lived there for 5 years and we are thinking of possibly building our retirement home there. There are so many nice shops and of course not far from the beautiful Hilton Head beaches. Love the church in PB so pretty. Looking forward to continuing to read your blog!

Make sure to take Vitamin D with Vitamin K for asorbtion. They come together in one pill.
Try to get more sun on your bare skin to raise your Vit D. https://www.theepochtimes.com/why-i-take-vitamin-d3-in-the-summer_759172.html?utm_source=healthnoe&utm_campaign=health-2022-07-11&utm_medium=email&est=kUjE0PCzP17tZWLlfJQyWw9iGKW%2FMkLxrauPbIms1XBiBfxd%2Fk0GKIzA%2FY6XKnP4uv7050Gb
