Good Sunday morning to you. I want to first name the winner of the planter giveaway. Congratulations goes t0-
So, so excited to see the cabbage plates!!! Thank you for adding them to your china offerings! I have 2 antique Wedgewood ones but never use them. Now I can order yours and set a table with them. I’ll be ordering white, but the green is tempting too!!
Please email us with your shipping info so that we can get your prize on the way!
Hope all is well on your end. Hopefully we will be (as planned) in Palmetto Bluff this weekend to do a walkthrough and work on the punch list. So happy to be at the finish line. And cannot wait to share with you all the progress as we move from building to moving in and making it a home.
Onward to my post this weekend…

1 A DELICIOUS ROSÈ SANGRIA Made this the other night and its always so so good. It is actually really easy too and a nice way to impress your guests that you went a little extra for them. It is so flavorful and refreshing not to mention brownie points for being really pretty!
Here is what you need-
1 bottle of a light (preferably French) Rosè
1-2 oranges
1 cup strawberries slices
a cluster of mint leaves
1/2 lemon sliced thinly
1/2 cup brandy
2 TBSP sugar or sugar equivalent *like a Stevia, etc..
Sparkling water
How to make-
Cut the fruit and lemon into small pieces and macerate with sugar.Let sit approx. 30 min. Add the bottle of Rosè and mint and mix together. Refrigerate 2-4 hours (beyond that the fruit can get mushy). We normally pour about 3/4 of a glass and top with a sparkling water (it is optional) Add a sprig of mint on top and serve.
2 CLIMBING ROSES Is there anything prettier than a climbing/rambling rose? I have always adored them and wanted to try them this year but I had too many little projects happening so next year it’s the first thing I want to attempt next season. Read this article which greatly motivated me from Flower Magazine. If this something on your radar you may want to read it too or if you have grown them, would love to know about your experience!
3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST Always such beauty to share with you from Instagram, these are this weeks picks!
4 A BEAUTIFUL HOUSE TOUR I just love everything about this. It has a real southern vibe and Sarah Bartholomew is so talented with this asetheic. I may have shared this years ago but some things bear repeating. Many details worth noting, it is elegant without being fussy and just so incredibly inviting.
5 A VIOLIN PHENOM I have followed Chloe Chua from Singapore, for a year or so because I found her mesmerizing, like a young Vanessa Mae. She is by all means considered to be one of the worlds most talented young prodigies in the music world today. Her poise at such a young age on top of her obvious musical gift is really something to behold. I could watch play her all day, truly mesmerizing.
6 SNEAK PEEK AT PUMPKINS THAT WILL BE HERE IN ABOUT 5 WEEKS! We will be holding a presale on our INCREDIBLE 2023 pumpkin collection in the next 1-2 weeks and I promise its well worth waiting for. Here are pictures taken as they were getting packed up….cannot wait and have all kinds of ideas swirling through my head as to how/where to use them. We will also be introducing our jumbo pumpkin at around 24″ which is perfect for front door entrances!
These are not all as we are also bringing back our 3 best selling styles from last year too…it will soon be pumpkin mania around here!
7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY Oh flying…… the one thing I really don’t like to do unless of course I have to. And I do thanks to my Ativan. I was thinking the other day how it has changed how I look at flying. Gone are the anxiety spells days before a flight and clenched fists the morning of a flight…Ativan saved me from not getting on a plane ever again!
When I was on the plane a few days ago I noticed as I walked past an airport bar, people drinking at a time that seemed really odd (8am) and saw more than a few take a pill and I realized I really am not alone. I wondered how many of you rely on something to fly or just happily walk casually onto the plane not having to take anything at all? Will be curious to see the results!
In my case, it is because of severe claustrophobia. Have not taken an elevator is 31 years (I walk up the stairs no matter how high) My claustrophobia stemmed from being in an out of control elevator. Once in this lifetime was enough for me! So it manifested itself into other things, most of which I have been able to overcome but getting on a plane still gives me major anxiety. Thankfully I have a solution:)

Everything is beautiful but oh those pumpkins are incredible!! I cannot wait to order, so happy you added the rusty tones. The patterns are amazing. Sangria looks so refreshing, can you make it and store overnight?
That young violinist is remarkable. My daughter who is only 7 started playing last year and I have an appreciation for what it takes to get to that girls level, we are still at the “plug your ears to the screeching” phase:)
I loved your comment about not taking an elevator. My daughters have the opposite fear – after being locked in a stairwell they wouldn’t take stairs unless I climbed ahead and held the door open at the next level.
Tina, I love the house video! So many fabulous ideas and so elegant and unique. Definitely bookmarked that page! Happy Sunday! Regarding the claustrophobia thing, lately I’ve been having issues with that and not sure why. I was in a hotel room on the 11th floor in Chicago (very small room) where I couldn’t open a window and I felt so trapped. Need to get to the bottom of this as it has never happened before…
I grow more than 200 rose bushes and grow many climbers. My favorites are Sally Holmes, Pink Eden, Kiss me Kate, Graham Thomas, Polka and my new very favorite is Perfume Breeze, an amazing prolific climber with enormous fronds covered in hundreds of tiny super fragrant pink flowers, that look very much like the pendulous flowers of oak leaf hydrangeas! It is a wonderful repeater. Be sure you consider how much sun you get at various times of the year because roses need at least 4 hours a day to bloom and do better with far more. Be considerate of bees and other living beings as well as the biologicals in the soil by only using organic fertilizer. Avoid synthetics which are like crack or empty sugar for roses. Don’t spray them with poisons. When you choose your rose check to be sure it is appropriate for your climate, in the right place for sun, disease resistant and a repeat bloomer. Remember that roses need to be pruned yearly and deadheaded which takes a lot of hand labor, and climbers are pruned differently than other roses. If you have gophers be sure to plant your roses in gopher baskets or your investment (roses have become very pricey) will be eaten! Best of luck, roses are the highest vibration flower and excellent for your mental and physical health. Their scent can help heal a broken heart and grief.
I have stair phobia! I can fall up stairs, down stairs and would never ever get in a stairwell after being chased in one. That started my phobia while at college, I had a bunch of drunk dudes chasing me starting at the 9th floor. I just thought for sure if they caught me I’d have been violated. After reaching the last exit door and people all around me, I could finally breath. Breathing like it was the first breath ever taken. I totally get it. Phobia of flying is very real. Stair phobia is real. It’s just the people that have gone crazy. That’s exactly why I so enjoy your blog, it takes me away from all the junk out there nowadays.
