Hi friends, hope you are doing well. Its been some week over here, mourning a friends death, another wake for a family friend, husband getting Covid, me being home sick for 2 days and counting (thankfully still testing negative for Covid) having to cancel a girls trip, the sadness of world affairs…..feels like everything is on fire! Such uncertain times in our world right now.

Even when things seem sad and unstable, I always look for beauty and inspiration to remind myself that it can coexist alongside turmoil and it really serves as a refuge/outlet for me. It gives me oxygen, and I am sure some of you can related.  So I was scrolling though my phone in between the news and documentary watching. I finally decided I am laying off the news for a bit, it is overwhelming and just too much at times, just weighs so heavily on you.  Here is a look (the good and pretty of course) at life in the last few weeks…

Drove home with these ginormous 24′ pumpkins…just love them. They are such an elegant answer to Halloween/fall decorating! (click here to see our pumpkin collection)

Was so excited to see paint progress over at PB, this room is really coming along!

My remote and this book have been the best company these past few days…..a great book for beautiful tabletop inspiration in case you are looking to add to your coffee table book collection!

My son is in Amsterdam and sent me this picture above…he knows me well!

Then I did a side by side of our tutlipieres with what he saw in Amsterdam and I have to say, remarkably similar (less a few zero’s) Our medium version is part of our current porcelain presale (click here to see)

So excited to get in our white cabbage plates…..cannot wait to set the table:)

We celebrated my oldest sons birthday last week and had to take a picture of these plated mozzarella and tomato appetizers

Went to a beautiful wedding last weekend a few pretty highlights…..

Snapped these gorgeous flowers at our local market….the colors!

Our last alfresco dinner of the seasons, went out with friends and had the yummiest meal with a beautiful view to boot

Yes, beauty is a salve, but never regret that your heart has gone out to those in pain. That is our humanity. Another new table book that will give you a balm is Stephanie Stokes The World at Your Table… she has collected tableware from around the world and mixes and matches with such creativity. Your front door pumpkin display is fabulous! Get well soon to you both.

Good morning Tina!

Thank you for the beautiful post! Love all the pictures!

Hope you and your husband feel better!

Series recommendations:

Atypical–follows a teen on the spectrum. Delightful. Netflix.
James Herriot series on PBS, All Creatures
The Morning Show, Apple +
The Great Pottery Throwdown, lovely British series

Hope your husband and you feel better soon!
I never watch the news anymore. Too depressing, overwhelming and too much disinformation.
Love all your beautiful photos of your last few weeks! This flowers at the market were gorgeous!

Love your entire post! The tomato and mozzarella appetizer inspired me. I’ve long known that sliced mozzarella and sliced tomato should not ideally touch on a plate as the two become soggy after awhile. Chunks of tomato makes for a much lovelier and crisper presentation.
The pictures were beautiful: the wedding, the pumpkins, plants, etc. Beautiful blog as usual.

I always look for beauty and inspiration too! I do not watch news or watch TV. Nothing on TV interest me… I’ll continue listening to music. I’ll check out the book because decor books and magazines keep my interest. Take care, get well! I can’t take the COVID vaccine because I almost died from vaccine last year. Praying to survive the evils out there!

Met the author Capucine De Wulf at our book signing at St. Michael’s Women’s Exchange in Dallas… great book and such a lovely lady
